10/18/2025. Sat at the bar. Bartender throws menus at us without any greeting. Returns 5 minutes later asks if we want drinks. I ask if there are any beers a tap, no reply but opens the drink menu and points to the beers in bottles. We decided to order the appetizer of the goat cheese with marinara, it took about 15 minutes to arrive. There was about a teaspoon of goat cheese in the middle of the tomato salsa tasted like it came out of a Ragu bottle with four slices of bread on each side of it that were not toasted. I asked the bartender if the muscles were green or black and he had no idea he had to go and ask the kitchen, regardless they were horrible. My partner ordered a pizza that came 15 minutes after my muscles that was also horrible. $89 worth of pure crap do not eat here. read more

The service was great. We came during a mid-afternoon rush but was able to be seated promptly. The food came out quickly and our waiter was fabulous. Extremely attentive. Made sur were comfy. And when the sun was at its peak and was a little blinding he put covering on the windows. Tons of natural, almost too much natural light. The place is decorated well. Located right in the heart of Ybor. They have a full bar. I loved the calamari and a few of the dipping sauces but I do not like the presentation. It came off a little sloppy. Could've been plated better. I also ordered the blackened shrimp with the risotto. Everything was cooked well. But the Shrimp lacked flavor, blacken is a seasoning type in itself so I was a little confused. The risotto was great, not your typical risotto but it was tasty. My friend order the bacon wrapped shrimp, she said they were delicious. She was afraid that she would eat them all prior to receiving her food. Happy hour was great two martinis for $6, but service was very lacking. Bartender seemed miserable to be there, and when in the restroom I overheard a staff member complaining and harshly cursing outside about not being first cut. I went to this restaurant because the lady at the hotel recommended it. It was a short walk too so that worked out. I had the sausage appetizer with marinara. This was very good! For dinner I had the chicken parm. This was also very good and a good size portion. My friend had the veal chop, which he said was delicious. We both had dessert. I had the tiramisu and he had the flourless chocolate cake. The tiramisu was delicious. The chocolate cake is very thick like fudge and had a bitter dark chocolate flavor. I personally didn't like it but he enjoyed it. The prices are a little high but after spending a week eating in tampa, this seems to be about the norm lol. It's been over a decade that I've wanted to try happy hour here. Back in the day they used to have $2 finlandia martinis. It has since changed to $3 and it's not quite the same as finlandia but it's decent enough. The martinis weren't very good but for $3 it was perfectly fine. What's also crazy about this happy hour is that the entrees are half price. We had a $40 awesome osso buco dish for only $20. My husband and I split it because we had other plans the rest of the night but I was dying to try it here. I was definitely so pleased and so happy we are finally able to get here! Bernini's is a wonderful restaurant. The people are warm and friendly. The service is great, and the food is excellent. My wife and I went there with 12 Seasoned Foodies(TM) and had a wonderful time! My wife and I both had the Seafood fra Diablo. WOW! Not only was the Seafood and the Pasta cooked spot on, but the "heat" was just right, spicy enough for me yet easily tolerated by my wife who has GERDS. Three of our foodies feasted on the Pork Osso Bucho, which looked and from the empty plates must have tasted amazing. Our friends usually take home about half a meal for later. Not this time. Just empty plates. The Tortelloni Carbonara makes my mouth water just thinking about it. The basil and sweet peas give it a green appearance that would make St. Patrick wish he were Italian. We weren't in the mood for a full dinner, but we're lucky enough to have Katelin as our server. She gave us some great recommendations, and the mussels with blue cheese sauce and eggplant rollatini were absolutely delicious, topped off with a glass of cote du Rhône and a Perroni. Bernini is an icon in Tampa. The historic setting creates an elegant ambiance. We had a party of 6 to celebrate a birthday. Our appetizers, calamari and bruschetta, came out quickly. We thoroughly enjoyed them! Our entrees arrived soon after. Two had chicken parm, two had steak, one had grouper & one had ravioli. Every one of our dishes was exceptional! The portion size was en pointe. Our server was pleasant and attentive, even sharing a story about a ghost on the 3rd floor. Entrees are half price before 7, so our bill was quite reasonable. This place is amazing. We went for dinner, the restaurant was packed and we didn't have reservations but the host greeted us promptly and found a table for us. Awesome architecture and even more awesome is the story since this place used to be a bank. Our server Daren was so friendly. I work in the hospitality industry and is amazing to see people that are passionate about their jobs. Daren was the epitome of exceeding expectations for service. He was very attentive but not overbearing. Made great wine recommendations, talked about the history of the restaurant and gave us great tips about what to do next since it was our first time visiting Ybor City. The food was delicious, good portions and flavors. We ordered chicken parm and fettuccine bolognese and we couldn't stop eating until finished. Overall really good experience. If you're looking for a good happy hour please, this is your spot. They do 50% off Pasta & Entrées from 4:00-7:00pm daily! This is one of my go to restaurants in Ybor. Their martinis are delicious. I usually go for their cucumber gimlet. The service is always great and quick despite how busy this place gets. They also have TVs by the bar downstairs and they always have good music. There's inside and outside seating. There's also a second floor with another bar as well. The last time I was there I ordered the shrimp scampi. Never disappoints! From the veal lasagna to the veal chop to the crispy roasted duck I've never had a bad meal at Berninis

My wife and I headed to Bernini Thursday night to meet some friends for dinner and happy hour. We arrived around 6:30pm. We were seated in a tough spot. Most of the place was empty, table wise, but our group of 8 got wedged in a corner between the bar and the wall. Once we were seated, it was fine but getting in an out was a pain. Our server was around quick and was super friendly and courteous. He took our drink orders. I had a Basil Hayden's on the rocks and my wife partook in the $3 martini's for happy hour. They have a ton of flavors, including the raspberry my wife had and espresso that my friend Richard had. Despite not being full, the place was pretty loud, we enjoyed our time hanging out and talking. The drinks were good. There was fresh bread and pre-packaged breadsticks on the table. The fresh bread was good. It was soft and flavorful. Their dinners can be pricey but luckily during happy hour, entrees and pasta are half-off! The Gnocchi with beef ragout that my wife ordered is usually, $24 but during happy hour, only $12. I got their Margherita pizza. The food took a few minutes but came out hot and fresh. Our server showed excellent skill handing off drinks and hot plates over top us in the cramped corner. Our meals looked excellent and we dug in. My wife and I did what we tend to do, which is each order some thing different and split them. That way we each get to try something else. The pizza was really good. Fresh ingredients, cheesy with whole tomatoes on top. The crust was tasty and slightly crunchy with a slight char underneath. Definitely a brick-oven pizza. I enjoyed it. It came with 8 slices I believe, so it was a decent size. The Gnocchi with beef ragout boasted rich flavors. Fresh and zingy but turned out to not be a lot of food. Either they cut portions for the 50% off happy hour or this meal would not be worth $24. The bowl was filled with mostly sauce, masking the few pieces of meat and gnocchi that made it into the dish. First time coming to Bernini's with my friends, celebrating finishing our first year of medical school. We had a large party and our waiter, Wes, was beyond attentive, friendly and accommodating. He handled our slightly drunken multiple martini requests with ease and so many smiles. The $3 martinis are probably the best deal I've seen in all of Tampa. Highly recommend the espresso and the cucumber martini. Pastas are also 50% off until 7pm!!! I got the carbonara based on Wes's recommendation, and was absolutely blown away. The mix of the salty sausage, sweet peas, creamy tortellini and Alfredo sauce was perfect. Best pasta I've had so far in Tampa. Four of us had an early dinner, goal to enjoy half price entrees and pastas. Martinis were only $3.00 but were small. Eggplant appetizer and pear arugula salad were delicious. Two crispy duck entrees were also delicious and are highly recommended. One had the veal chop recommended by server and it was so tough it couldn't be cut or eaten. We had a spontaneous date night and chose head to Ybor and try something new. We saw this place and got a seat without a reservation. We took a table upstairs and after a few moments our server introduced himself and took our drink order. The drinks came from the bar at (what I would call) record speed and were very tasty. We ordered the Oysters Ybor for an appetizer and two pasta dishes. The oysters were delicious and our server timed the delivery of our main meal perfectly. I had the Shrimp and Crab Pasta Diablo and my wife had the Shrimp Florentine Risotto. Everything was delicious the atmosphere was great and our sever gave the right amount of attention to our table. My first experience in Ybor and chose here for dinner. Sat at the bar and had a Moscow mule expecting the usual copper mug but got a normal glass. It tasted good but there is just something about that copper mug expectation. I ordered the chicken Parmesan and it was really good. The house bread was very dry and as a bread baker myself not worth the carbs so I passed on it after a couple of bites. It was too bad because the herb butter was really good so would have liked a better bread. Had the house Chianti with my dinner and it was good and reasonable priced. Overall cleanliness left something to be desired, the bathroom and the little hall before the bathroom was pretty filthy which after eating grossed me out a bit as it makes you question cleanliness in the kitchen, etc. read more
