I tried Bert's cheesesteak for the first time last week.... It was a pretty good steak.. Plenty of meat, they had fried long hots and some other little fried peppers that weren't all that hot... My buddy and I sat there eating and talking to the girl that works there for awhile... NIce people working there.. The steak was so good that it was still tender after it had cooled off while we were talking... I think I found another place that I'd go out of my way to eat when it crosses my mind... They stay open til about 11pm every day..

Amazing! Stopped in during a long work drive , just looking for a quick sandwich. Doesn't look like much, a bit of a hole in the wall, but that's part of the charm! This was definitely one of the best cheesesteaks I've had. Bonus points- the family was super nice and friendly while we waited. I'll definitely be back !

Beyond satisfied every time. V generous amount of meat & cheese (you can never get both, it's always one or the other!) & whatever extras you ask for... which is my type of cheesesteak! The people there are very kind, and don't have an issue w having a conversation while you wait. They start cooking as soon as you say what kind of sandwich you want lol. Whenever I'm back home, this is the only place I go for a good cheesesteak

Delicious cheesesteak! Crispy hot onion rings! I highly recommend ordering from here if you're in the area.

My friends, family, and coworkers worry about me and my yearning for this burger in my life. I think truly part of the reason why I wouldn't mind living in Philly is because of this burger. I'd argue that part of the reason I'd come back to Philly (and am planning on doing) is the food. This city has it on lockdown, and Luckys is in the top for me.

When I seen that Lucky's Last Chance won best burger 3 times I knew I had to try lucky's award winning PB&J burger. Walking into Lucky's, you're immediately engulfed with the iconic Dive Bar ambiance. This style option defines your experience, good vibe, good food. Our server was very friendly, fit the vibe, explained the menu and seasonal options well. As for the burger, patties cooked perfectly juicy. I must say, one would think that Peanut Butter does not go with burgers. This is an extremely wrong opinion, an old way of thinking if you must. Not really sure how to explain it, peanut butter was a perfect replacement for mayo. Drizzling the Raspberry jelly was truly the best way to go. Just as important, the bun was local and fresh, while holding up to the weight of this sandwich. I can see why this burger and Lucky's won best burger multiple times. If I ever have the luxury of visiting Lucky's Last Chance again. I may sneak in some Jalapeño jelly and give it a try!

The meat was moist, tasty, properly salted, with a discernible bark. The amount of cheese, sauerkraut, & dressing accentuated the pastrami, although so much meat would be hard to impact! It needed the long spear to stay together. But yet I could cut & shave & make mini sandwiches. The potato salad was a great refresher. Not too tart, with carrots, celery, & I could taste onion. The pickle was not too acidic. Great crunch. A nice interlude between bites of the sandwich & potato salad. I took my time. It went into overtime. Washing it down with coke. My taste buds won. Great service. A nice diner like vibe. Incredible menu. We don't have this level of Jewish Deli in the Bay Area. I'd go every week. $36.18 is with it! I threw in a $10 tip for a great meal & nice waitress.

While I was downtown, I picked up about $92 worth of food, including 1 1/2 pounds of shrimp salad that couldn't be ordered online because, for some reason, the website would not allow it. The very next day, when we went to eat it, something was clearly wrong. The shrimp salad caused a tingling sensation on our tongues, and it was obvious it had gone bad. I called the deli to let them know not just because we couldn't eat it, but because I thought they would want to know if there was a potential issue with the batch. Instead of receiving an apology or any concern, I was met with a dismissive response of, "Oh, that's weird," and the conversation felt condescending. I explained that I couldn't bring the shrimp salad back because I'm leaving town and my mother has limited mobility. I wasn't asking for a refund on our entire order. I simply asked if they could issue a gift card or store credit for the shrimp salad so my mother could use it on a future visit. Every possible solution I suggested was met with an excuse as to why it couldn't be done. The spoiled food was disappointing, but the lack of empathy and customer service was worse. Loyal customers deserve to be treated with respect when they raise a legitimate concern. After years of supporting 4th Street Deli, this experience has unfortunately convinced us that it will be our last visit. I'm reading they have new owners, so maybe it's not the same amazing management we are used to.

Eve awards best cheesesteak of my life--still thinking about it Highlights: - The bread: a soft long roll with sesame seeds was a delight I didn't see coming. - Meat: was lightly seasoned but kept its pure flavor. Most cheesesteaks have such bland meat so this did it right - Cheese: melty coopers cheese was perfectly mixed in. - Onions: just the right soloing if grilled onions mixed in to complement the meat but not overwhelm it. - Size: monstrous! You can easily share (but you may not want to). - Fairly efficient: even with long lines, put your phone number in the kiosk, can pay with credit card, and wait til you are texted to pick it up. - For the whole family: my cranky teen son said it's the best thing he ate on our 23 day summer East Coast trip (including lots of great dining spots around Philly and NYC). Lowlights: - Waits can be long and brutal in heat. We got lucky with a shorter line. - No seating: just an ordering counter inside so many are eating out on the sidewalk.

Perfect evening. Now onto the food review. The star is THE BREAD. The pizza's crust was chewy and crispy. We had the white pizza and devoured it. It's also MASSIVE for 2 people. The cheesesteak was loaded (could use more seasoning but maybe they intentionally make it that was as a baseline), the seed roll? PHENOMENAL. The lines are confusing. Lowkey I think they have the opportunity to make their signings better. Dear owner if you see my review, see the 2 perfect rectangles right above the door? Hear me out, one sign per rectangle that says order on the left and pick up on the right. That will solve everyone's confusion and save your team from yelling at customers "ORDER OVER HERE!" Win-win. We asked for a cheesesteak w mushroom and was charged for it but it didn't come with mushrooms :( we do appreciate the speed though and they'll keep your food in a warmer until you pick up (how thoughtful!) There is absolutely no seating inside, definitely a grab and go place!
