He sent me a very generous gift card to make up for the one I was promised but didn't receive I still frequent Bertuccis a few times a month and have always had great food and service when I dine in Upgrading star rating to 5 for following through is my local Bertuccis that I have gone to for years. It was my husband and I Friday night tradition until he suffered a stroke last year. I don't like to go to a sit down dinner alone so typically order take out Twice I ordered delivery because I had worked all day and was too tired to go pick it up. Both times my food was sub par. First time pizza was burnt. I let it slide as I was too tired to deal with it. Second time I ordered margarita pizza again over cooked and NO basil at all! Plus I indicated it was for 2 people and the sent 1 roll I called, manager was very understanding I told him not to send another I just wanted him to be aware that this was the second time I had a problem with delivery He apologized and said he would send me a gift card and took my name and address. We decided to go to Bertucci's for my birthday and were seated promptly but when we sat down, I took my mask off like in other restaurants and was promptly ordered by the host with a beard that I must wear a mask when not eating and if we did not comply we could leave. This location has lost our order 4 or 5 times, flat out cancelled on us and the tonight sent a manager out out to deliver after clearly losing or forgetting our order again. When you have hungry daughters waiting, it's not ideal. This is on me, I should have taken my business elsewhere long ago but we would get good pizzas intermittently and I have nostalgia for the pizza. The product that we received was poor, really sad. Grocery store frozen pizza quality, cheese barely melted. No refund or discount has ever been offered for the many mistakes we have. I am not one who seeks this out, but you would imagine you would get something for the inconveniences, especially with the high prices that we are paying and the fair tips that we always pay the drivers. Don't be fooled as I was. If you order delivery even using their website they are not the one who deliver. They farm out their delivery to a 3rd party and after ordering dinner at 4:20 for a 5:30 delivery I was still waiting at 6:15. I called the Braintree location and asked about my order which they told me it was there?? But I ordered delivery and the answer was yes but we use a 3rd party and they haven't shown up yet. So lets do some math, I expected a delivery at 5:30 which I assume the meal was ready at 5:10 - 5:15 so it could go out the door to be delivered. Now its 6:15 and they still haven't picked it up ? That would be 1 hr or more sitting at the front door waiting to be delivered. I canceled the order and wont make that mistake of ordering delivery or dine in at this restaurant. I want to start this review by sharing that I NEVER ever complain to managers or waitstaff when I have issues at a restaurant. I have never sent back back food anywhere I've eaten and have never once in my life asked to speak to a manager in any capacity. I want you to know this to know that if I do it would be for a really good reason. We came to this location last night for my aunt's 75th birthday. It's bertucci's - I mean we weren't expecting much. The food took a long time to get to the table (about an hour) but understandable with the current staffing issues many businesses are facing so it was not a huge deal to us. The food ended up being delicious, BUT our good experience ended there. I went to the restroom when our meal was over, and a staff member walked out of the adjacent stall just before I did. She made NO attempt to wash her hands, she didn't even stop at the sink just went straight for the door. Once she saw that their was a customer behind her, she had an almost what I would call "uh oh" moment and quickly came back, ran her hands under the water for about 3 seconds, never used soap, and left the restroom to go behind the takeout counter to continue handling orders of food. I was honestly disgusted, I mean i'm sure it happens more than we would all like to think, but to see it happen right in front of you, after finishing a meal, made not only me but my guests feel uneasy. Without making a fuss, I calmly walked up to who I assume was a manager, explained what happened, and showed him the employee who did not wash her hands, and was actively handling food orders. He was very apologetic, but assured me it was okay because he told her to leave because of another issue only 20 minutes prior and she was simply waiting for her uber. Okay? but she is still handling food orders with unwashed hands after using the bathroom? waiting for her uber doesn't really mean anything? I sat back down and over the next 15 minutes we paid our bill and left. Not once did he ever speak to this employee, and she continued taking orders and handling takeout orders behind the counter for the remainder of her time there. Disgusting. My husband & I met friends (who were visiting from out of state) here during Sunday's "snowmagadden". I was concerned the restaurant would not be open, but they were and the staff were quite accommodating to us. With the weather greatly increasing the travel time for everyone to get there, we ended up staying hours longer than a normal dinner would. But, our waitress was great and didn't mind getting a separate check for someone who had to leave earlier than the rest of us, and taking an order for pizza from a late arrival when the rest of us were having desert. When our food did arrive my calzone was burnt on the outside and inside. The kids meals were lukewarm. The pasta had no taste and the kids cheese pizza was already almost cold. Very disappointing. Man a little bit of everything and high quality food for a chain. A very good go to in all seasons. Bread/rolls are fresh, and served with a nice dipping oil. Salads are ice cold. Drinks come quickly, and also are ice cold and not jammed logged with ice. Braintree: large and exceptionally clean. Very nice staff and wait staff. Plenty of parking as they have a shared lot with a couple of other places. High volume and high speed, yet the quality of product never suffers. It's a great place for a casual meal or even something a little more fancy. Portions are good... not a box of pasta in an oversized dish like Vinny Testa's used to do either. I love the food at Bertucci's, but this 1st time experience of delivery services was AWFUL. I made the order online via Bertucci's website at Braintree location. When I made the order at 11:05am, it said it will be delivered at 12:28pm at State Street Early Learning Center. However, at 12:30pm, I got a text message from the Postmates driver (BRIAN) that "Your order is out for delivery. Brian will drop off your items in 19 minutes. And I called and talked Bertucci's staff and Manager. They informed that it is out of their control as the delivery driver is not working for Bertucci's, and gave me Postmates phone # to call them. Then I called Postmates support line "1-866-570-6466". They said they don't have the delivery information because the food order wasn't ordered from their Website "Postmates.com". I had to spend significant amount of time to talk to these 2 parties just to track down the driver on where and why it took that long. Bertucci's manager said that they had the food ready on time. The food got delivered at 12:50pm (which was so unacceptably late). It has already passed the kids' lunch time and the quality of the food would not be as good as it should be, given they are sitting on the box for more than 30 minutes. From Braintree to Quincy, it should not take more than 15-20 minutes (even with the traffic). What I got frustrated about are: 1. Lack of accountability and responsibility between Bertucci's and Postmates. I, as a customer, did NOT have the choice to choose the delivery company. Therefore, Bertucci's has the responsibility to ensure their food get delivered in a TIMELY manner to retain their food quality for their customers, instead of directing me to call Postmates directly myself. 2. Postmates as a food delivery service company, timely delivery of food is extremely important. The reason for why I, as a customer, ordered the food for delivery, is because I didn't have time to drive there to pick up the food and deliver them to the daycare myself. This is WHY there are EXISTENCE of food delivery service companies. 3. I had to spend time to provide the order information from Bertucci's to Postmates, and calling both parties back and forth. Please make your freaking systems flow with each other. Please do NOT brush off your MUTUAL responsibilities on your customers. Collaboration is key. I had to say that I am extremely disappointed, frustrated, and angry (beyond upset) at the service I got for this order. I feel bad that the kids had to deal with their hunger and waited for the food to be delivered. A Recommendation - if you want to survive in nowadays environment (with COVID-19 situation), please kindly make improvements for better quality of service and food. read more

Tonight was a first for me. We had to ask for new silverware on 3 different occasions and a different wine glass and plate because of clearly visible caked on food. When my pizza arrived I had to ask for the kitchen because instead of brick oven roasted garlic I had raw minced garlic all over the pizza. Kitchen was very kind and polite but then came the manager. During our chat I mentioned the several items that had caked on food on them (silverware, glass and plate), and his reply was if you want your silverware checked for food go to a fine dinning restaurant. This was news to me that when experiencing dinner at bertucci's you should expect anything since it's not fine dinning. Very disappointing after many good experiencea at other locations. read more

Eventually our appetizer comes, garlic knots, they should have been called garlic cannon balls - they were so hard the butter knives barely cut them. Eventually the other people's food in my party comes and the waitress goes to get my entree and someone else took it. Bah, I really, really, really wanted this to be a 4-star review. I've been here a good five or more times while I work down the street on Granite Ave on occasion. Many of the servers I have had, especially at the lunch hour.....have been superb. But the food....... And it's not even the food overall, it's the accoutrement that shouldn't even need to be mentioned and yet, has failed me several times. We're talking here about the (usually) delicious rolls that are brought to each table before you are served. How can rolls be tough yet warm? Where is the disconnect in terms of the ingredients used and them almost ripping my teeth apart? You're so moist in the middle....yet so stale on the outside, blegh! If anyone that works at this location ever reads this, please just fix your recipe issue with the rolls. I've never said anything while I was there because I'm not a complainer in restaurants....but I'll tell you here, it has been awful within the past few months. Another thing that somewhat irks me is that they hide their really GREAT cheaper lunch options towards the back of the larger, dinner menu. I don't like they are pushing the $17 pastas and pizzas on me when all I want are unlimited salad/bread and a smaller portion of pasta or a sandwich for like 8 bucks. Is it too much to ask to have two separate menus for different times of the day? If mom/pops can pull this off........so can Bertucci's. I have had every rustic sandwich they offer and not been disappointed once....unless the bread comes out somewhat stale. The basil mayo on some of them is a great choice to compliment the ingredients, from chicken to portabello mushroom. The flatbreads are equally as good, my favorite being the roasted eggplant. More pesto dipping sauce please! Clean, comfortable atmosphere from what of the chains that still do it better than the rest. Please, don't turn into Olive Garden for the love that all is holy........and fix your damn bread recipe or fire the baker who makes it! read more

We've eaten here before, and we had also eaten at another Bertucci's in Randolph. Both of those pizza's I remember really liking so of course it brought us back for another visit. I wasn't as pleased this time. The service was perfect. We got free rolls with seasoned olive oil before our pizza was served which was really good, I even continued to use the seasoned olive oil to dip my pizza into. We decided to build our own pizza with mozzarella, chicken, bacon, and onions. The pizza crust was thin and was a bit burnt which I don't really care for. I wish we had ordered extra mozzarella, it was a little to sparse for me. The chicken was bland and the pieces were cut too big, you'd take a bite of the pizza and pull a chicken strip off the pizza. The onions were okay. The bacon made the pizza. If I can't find better pizza in the area, I'll probably be back to Bertucci's to fill my pizza cravings while visiting the area. read more

Sorry for the one star but the food just doesn't cut it for me here. Came here twice and all two times was a disappointment. I ordered the alfredo fettuccine which was absolutely terrible. The alfredo sauce did not taste good whatsoever. My brother ordered the Nolio pizza (Parma-style prosciutto and sweet caramelized onions, lightly seasoned cream, Pecorino Romano and mozzarella) which was also not that great. There was barely any prosciutto and every bite was just an explosion of cream and caramelized onions. Crust was also pretty bad and stale. Don't chain restaurants have recipes for chefs to follow??
