We were in search of a pizza place that's close by and everything turned up Bertucci's. I was slightly turned off by the pricing, as it seemed more expensive than other places, but when our food arrived the portions made up for it! The style was very much big family sized Italian portions to share. We had spaghetti and meatballs for a small army. The pizza was also gigantic. Everything tasted pretty good and seemed worth the cost in the end! The best part was the days of leftovers we had in the end! Horrible customer service today which happens to be June 19th, go figure! My husband and I walk in to no hostess at the front nobody's there to greet us so I walk over to the bar and ask the young lady who is standing there on her personal cell phone having a conversation with her mother and asked do we seat ourselves she replies no the person at the front also does the to go so there's nobody up there right now so she walks over and grabs. The menu. Never says you guys follow me or anything goes to the table and says well my name is Kate or whatever "Karen" as far as I'm concerned I'll be helping you. I'll give you a chance to settle in and walk away that was disgusting. We were the only African American people in the restaurant at the moment so that's what her attitude gave. First time here and from the front of the house to the back of the house was wonderful. I immediately got seated as I was for my other guests to arrive and the food was wonderful, I got the lemon chicken piccata and it was awesome. Their garlic knots are good but more in a shape of a ball . We shared the white sangria and it was good. Dessert we had the lemon cake and it was tasty. I have been to Bertucci's many times and always love the food. I've had a pretty good but not perfect experience with dining in, but carryout is always superb. I love that they send coupons because the pricing becomes more reasonable. I tend to always go for the cheese raviloi and strawberry lemonade. Last time my sister and I had the vegetable pizza and tiramisu as well. Wonderful food! The ravioli is soft and cheesy, the strawberry lemonade is delicious and comes with refills, and not to mention they provide bread roll baskets to eat while you wait. The vegetable pizza actually exceeded my expectations! It was filling and not too heavy, not greasy at all, and the tiramisu was rich! We pass this location on a regular basis so we decided to stop by for dinner on a Friday night. It took a while before we were acknowledged by anyone at the front. Many employees walked past us several times but only one ended up asking us if we've been helped and then flagged down the host. We decided to order a pizza, based on the fact that almost everyone around one was eating it as well. Since we didn't like any of the pre-made choices on the menu, we decided to pick our own toppings. We were served fresh bread with olive oil for dipping before our pizza arrived. I liked the bread but my husband wasn't a fan. The pizza came out about 15-ish minutes later. The pie itself was huge and our server was nice enough to serve us each a slice to start. The pizza however was not good at all. The sauce to cheese ratio was off. Little to no cheese with a LOT of sauce. We both agreed that the pizza was probably the worst we've ever had. I barely finished my slice. We ended up taking it to go and dropping it off to our family in hopes that it would get consumed by someone instead of wasting food. read more

It's super surprising that this place is only a 3-star instead of a 4.5 or 5 star. Here's why it's definitely a 5 in my book: -they have the best bread and olive oil you will ever get -their food is excellent, authentically Italian brick oven tasting, and unique. From their pizza, to their eggplant Parmesan, to lasagna, to calimari, you cannot go wrong here. Even their desserts are good -if you don't know what to order- I recommend their brick oven pizza, free olive oil + bread, and your choice of dessert. Their pizza is the best I've ever had, not even close. -the restaurant is classy, spacious, very clean, and homey/friendly all the same time. The waiters/waitresses are always super nice, attentive (but give you space when you want it) and friendly. The brick ovens cooking in the background is great. I've always felt good here Again, the 3-star rating doesn't do it Justice. Totally worth at least a 4 or 4.5 if being impartial. In my view it's a solid 5! read more

Then my delivery time was extended to 6:51 pm. If I knew the wait time for some wings was going to be that long, I would have not ordered from this place. Estimated delivery time is for a reason.. Since moving to the neighborhood Bertucci's has become our quick, go-to spot for dinner when we're in the mood for Italian. They do take reservations on Open Table so jump on your app, reserve a seat, and earn some points! The little dinner rolls here are so delicious. The oil mix that is served with it is also fantastic. The rolls are slightly hard on the outside but super soft and warm on the inside. They do these right! I've had several meals here to date. My usual go to is the Sporkie pizza. It has sweet Italian sausage, ricotta, mozzarella, and tomato sauce. I usually go with the small and devour it all. The flavor on the pizza here is really good. I've also had the fettuccine Alfredo (with and without chicken). The Alfredo sauce is good but nothing to write home about. This is usually my change up when I need a break from pizza. Overall, the food and service here is good enough to keep us coming back. read more

I have been going to bertucci since high school back in the early 2000s . I went back last week and the food was still delicious, they changed some of their recipes and they recently changed ownership. The new management changed their menu, before if you got an entree you would also get their house salad with your meal now you have to add $4.99 to your entree price to get the salad which is noticeable smaller by half. I still got their piping hot rolls with their olive oil dipping sauce. Overall was satisfied, but surprised with their prices on the menu going up and their serving size going down. read more

We haven't been to Bertucci's in a few years, so we decided to visit this location (Springfield, VA) for lunch. When we got our bread, my dad asked for butter...it took about ten minutes, and three more "asks", for the waitress to bring some rock solid butter. When my dad asked if they could warm or soften the butter (so that it could be spread on the bread), she literally said that there was no way they could do that. When ordering our entree my dad asked for a side of potatoes with his chicken parmesan, the waitress ask which kind of potatoes. He answered "french fries or something like that", and once again she laugh and say "Italians don't do french fries". Anyway, our entrees (I had the spaghetti w/meatballs) were very generous portions for a lunch menu, but not very tasty. My spaghetti was overcooked. In summary, bad service; not bad, but not great food. :-( read more

A friend is visiting from California so we decided to come here for lunch today. I have been here several times in the past, and I have always enjoyed the food. When we arrived the place wasn't busy at all, and I would guess there were about 4 - 8 people seated inside. The restaurant is definitely spacious enough to hold close to one hundred patrons. We were greeted right away, and we're offered a decent booth table close to the window. After checking out the menu, I was undecided between the fettuccine Alfredo and the spaghetti with meat sauce. I've had them both in the past, but I finally decided on the fettuccine alfredo. My friend decided to g for the lasagna rustica. We both also went for the meal option which included Caesar saleds. Pellegrino sparkling water were the drinks to go with our lunches. Thankfully the salads arrived first because I was feeling the hunger. The fettuccine was brought to our table pretty quick, and it was as good as I had remembered! My friend also complimented his lasagna! I wanted half veggies full meats on my large pizza because of picky eaters and the first one came out the same way the second one came out. I paid $34 on this and it wasn't even eaten because the dough on top was undercooked and the bottom was a thin sand paper texture that was very chewy. Bertucci's has been a favorite restaurant of mine for many years, going back to my high school and college days when I was living in the Northeast. We had it in Chicagoland very briefly until the company decided to pull out of the Midwest. I think the last time I had eaten at any of their locations would have been about 15 years ago. So when I found out that there was one very close to the Metro train station in Springfield, I decided to stop in before my two and a half hour drive back home to Newport News. I ordered the sampler, which is chicken wings, meatballs, and fried mozzarella. Plus, I was given a basket of four warm round Italian rolls along with a plate of spiced olive oil for dipping. The rolls were really really good when they were warm, but once they started to cool down, they were little tough to chew. But I really liked the crispiness on the outside. As for the sampler, I was very pleased. The chicken wings were well flavored especially once I squeeze the lemon juice on top. However, I didn't understand the purpose of the chopped tomatoes underneath. The meatballs were really good and tender, and the marinara sauce on top was very flavorful and not overwhelming. The two wedges of fried mozzarella were more than fine, crispy and not greasy. Plus, I was glad to get some chopped basil on the side for that touch of freshness. For $12, it was a really good buy. I also got a margarita pizza with chicken for the road. They serve the fresh basil in a to go cup which was a great idea. This pizza was really good cold, just as I remembered it. My husband and I have dined here several times and the food always crushes! I usually order the eggplant parm and the hubs will get the chicken parm. Consistently good. Our waitress Michelle was great super friendly and fast. Service was great but the food was not. Portions were big but the food had no flavor. For quality of food I think it was very overpriced.
