I was pleasantly surprised by the empanadas, for ~$4 each the fruit empanadas were quite tasty! If we had time, I would've bought more. My favorite were the fruit empanadas, because the fillings were freshly heated up prior to serving and the fruit was super fresh and tasty. The mixed berry smoothie was a little sweet, maybe they added some sugar or the fruit was just that sweet, but that was the only comment I would say regarding our order. Additionally, their bathroom is pretty clean and is available for customers to use! The seating is self-serve. Our table had some crumbs from previous customers, but we just used some napkins to wipe it down on our own. Water is available, and self-serve! A quick side note is that on their menu, the main prices (which are more costly) refer to the meal-deal. This place was great! Service was excellent. I really like the ambiance. We both ordered a plate with one empanada with a side salad. And John ordered one extra empanada. For me, the one empanada with salad was plenty. I got the chicken cilantro and it was delicious! Moist, flavorful and the pastry was great. I tried a bite of John's with beef and that one was good as well. Neither of us enjoyed the breakfast one was much though. It had chorizo, egg and potato and it was dry. She liked them so much that she went back the next day and got another raspberry one, a pork one, and some frozen ones to eat later. Randomly dropped into this shop and so glad I did. I didn't know that this place was fairly new. It's located in a small strip mall with a Pilates studio, a Mexican restaurant, and bagel shop. Inside the shop, there's a glass case showing the different empanadas. There are table tops and chairs for seating then there were these cute nooks to replicate Peruvian street seating. The selection of empanadas was impressive. There were even sweet ones. I ordered the spinach and ricotta empanada as a lunch which came with a salad. And then ordered a peach and blueberry empanada to go. These are huge so one is great for a meal. The empanadas have a thin crust and eating one didn't feel heavy and you actually can taste the filling. I chose the Santa Fe Salad and the Tzaziki sauce to go with a spinach and ricotta empanada. Anyhow, I wanted to eat some protein for breakfast and the traditional beef empanadas looked yummy. I liked how the pastry skin is thin so the fillings can be the main deal. The gentleman in the store offered some terrific suggestions on what I might try on my first visit. Super flavorful, almost getting some Italian feel from this. The chimichurri sauce was really nicely done. The olive oil that bathes the herbs has a great but subtle flavor while the herbs pack a strong flavor punch. It is going to be difficult to determine where to go between here and Milohas the next time I am having an empanada craving. I am split down the middle at this point.
