This is an outside structure to a building. So in a way it reminds me of a Japanese yatai. The…read moretacos are some of the best. I've been here a few times to make sure! I realize in California there is a lot of competition for tacos but they hand press the tortilla so there is a freshness you don't get at a lot of other places. Meat is tasty and the salsas are spot on. This is one of the only burrito places that doesn't seem to be rice heavy and has more of the meat you paid for. Love the cheese they put into them too. Slightly grilled on the outside for texture. The torta like the burrito is packed with the tasty meat, some avocado but in sandwich form and without rice. It's never dry. The tamale are also some of the best. The masa isn't wet and lumpy from sitting in a slow cooker for ages like you normally get it. And it comes topped with cheese and cream. La Vida Taco has a compelling street food charm you don't get at a taco truck. Seating under a tarp on picnic tables is available. The only thing missing is the cerveza! I did try the champarado which actually wasn't too my liking as it had a tangy taste to it. The flan wasn't compelling. But overall I do love everything else about this place. Parking is street parking and there isn't a lot available in the immediate area. You may find yourself parking a short block or two in the residential neighborhood which isn't too bad. Some of the signage is misleading. There is one that says open every day but they're not open Sunday. The pricing is a bit off and slightly more than posted. Also they only accepted cash at the time of this review. Pricing is a little higher than most taco trucks but the quality of the food is above average. It seems on Wednesday, at least at the time of this review they were having a 2 for 1 taco special on Wednesdays. I've also seen people bring in coupons for 2 for 1 clipped from a newspaper. There's a lot more food to explore here than I've tried so far and I look forward to trying it all out in the near future.

My brother and I ordered 3 tamales and a burrito. The tamales had a good meat to dough ratio and…read morethe burrito was pretty stuffed! Horchata was a bit watered down. They have a sauce bar and we liked the green sauces the best.
