Small restaurant filled with BIG flavor and authentic Italian flair tucked away in adorable Downtown Campbell. My (full Italian) parents-in-law, aunt, hubby, and I had an amazing dinner here the other night. From the attentive, friendly service (our server Victor was excellent!), to the delicious food & cocktails, everything was molto bene! A huge bonus for us was their dedicated vegan menu (in addition to the extensive regular menu). They also have lots of vegetarian & gluten-free options. Everyone in the family can dine here happily! This is a true family style business and it's obvious that there are a lot of regulars. We came because there is a good selection of vegan options, including vegan cheese for the pizzas. The garlic bread and pizza came out fresh from the oven, and they were delicious. Not my favorite vegan cheese, but we really appreciate the availability. Unfortunately, I got the eggplant parm (vegetarian) which was simply awful. The eggplant was tough and tasteless and the terrible taste couldn't be covered up by the cheese and sauce. I left most of it on my plate. I had asked about it when ordering, and the waiter said he thought it was great, so I was really disappointed. We were there for dinner tonight, tried to use an old gift certificate, which they did not honor. They said that the owners changed after my gift certificate was purchased. Bummer! I liked my wine and my salad, my entrée was not to my liking, very heavy on the onions. Our server did ask me if I wanted something else, but I really didn't want anything else at the time. Front door greeting sucks. Slow service but not even close to 100% utilization. Lazy manager doing just enough to look like something. The biggest complaint was the irresponsible use of raw garlic! The spaghetti with olive oil, garlic and parsley was undercooked and laced with raw garlic that overpowered the dish. The pizza was tasty but a flop joblop special. Drinks were ok and most likely the whole reason for being open at 2pm on a Sunday. Not impressed at all. Waiter was hustling his ass off and we appreciate him. Not much else. Cheers. Didn't think I ever shared a review for here because I had only ever gotten pizza and a drink to go during the shelter in place, but turns out I did! Consistent with my last visit, the service and hospitality were wonderful, and even more prevalent since I was dining in this time. It didn't seem like we had a consistent server throughout our meal, but everyone that helped us was very nice. To eat, my mom got the Pizza con patate and my boyfriend and I got the spaghetti carbonara and prosciutto arugula pizza to share. This spot is pretty traditional, so you will need to ask for your pizza to be cut if you don't want to have to do it yourself. We all really enjoyed our pizzas. They have quite a large selection, so while I would absolutely order the same one again, I'll probably try a new one next time to enjoy the variety. The pasta was also good, but the pizza stole the show for both myself and my boyfriend. To drink my mom got a cocktail and we went with wine. I ordered a glass of one, but was recommend another and then offered samples of both to try, loved that they did this! My boyfriend also tried two different wines, one based on recommendation and another blindly, we both with went the recommended wines. I came here with a group last night! The staff was extremely friendly, and our food came out quickly. Unfortunately, the food was overwhelmingly average. Three of the guys we were with had pizza and they all thought it was just ok. I had the buttata salad which was just a burrata ball plopped on a plate with jarred artichoke hearts, unripe tomatoes, pita bread (not even focaccia) and cooked spinach. First the food. The pizza at La Pizzeria is the best in the area, hands down. Also, one pizza can easily feed two, especially if you get an appetizer or two. What cinches La Pizzeria as my favorite restaurant in the area though is that they are the only restaurant that I can think of that offers a vegan menu. Tonight we celebrated my daughter's birthday and both of my kids tried the vegan pizzas, and they loved them. One got the Margherita vegan pizza and the other ordered the Boscaiola. (Be careful as some of the pizzas like the Boscaiola don't have the red tomato sauce, if that is important to you so be sure to read the menu carefully.) I ordered the Vegetariana, minus the zucchini and tomatoes. It was so delicious. We also got the Garlic bread as an appetizer. It is very garlicky ;-) My kids also devoured it. We were surprised to learn from the waiter that they offer a vegan option for dessert as well, Molten Banana Cake which is vegan AND gluten free (it's not reflected on the online menu for some reason.) We can't wait to try that next time (we had my daughter's birthday cake waiting for us at home, otherwise we would have!) Other reasons that La Pizzeria is now my favorite restaurant in the Campbell area, the waiters are always super friendly, even when they are busy. We stopped in after dinner somewhere else to order affogato and we were pleasantly surprised! The affogato was delicious and we could not help but take dessert to the next level by ordering profiteroles, which were dynamite. The staff was extremely personable and we got the feeling that we should have had dinner at La Pizzaria instead. Next time we will do just that. I like how family friendly this place is! Yes, even if you have a toddler, this place is for you! They have outdoor seating with heat lamps, which is awesome. The pizza is pretty decent here. Nothing like Doppio Zero or Terun or anything like that, but compared to places like Mod Pizza or Blaze or Whole Foods, this one is better :). Also got the charcuterie board and did not like the quality of the meat or cheeses. I honestly don't think anyone else did since not even half was eaten. It was served with focaccia but it's not a focaccia that I'm familiar with - reminded me of a thicker pita bread, honestly. Got the bolognese and wasn't into it. The flavors were pretty bland and wish it had tagliatelle pasta instead of spaghetti. I think I had one bite and didn't eat the rest. Margherita pizza was a hit though. I have been here twice and was happy with the food and service both times. The food portions are perfect. Both times we did family style and we were able to finish everything without bringing left over food home. The server is very attentive. What I like most about this restaurant is that the atmosphere isn't loud so we can actually hear each other converse. They also have a point reward system tied into your phone number. I must declare eating hear is very nice. I never seen such cool pizza in my 31 one years of life. They have different flavors to choose from. I rarely get to eat stuff like this but it is so cool. Living in the Campbell area there is so much to appreciate and this place is one of them. Service here is very nice, the waiters and waitresses here treat you like family. They are very friendly and sweet. Even better the restaurant is very clean. It's a very quiet place at times and all you hear is the conversations of other people. It's a popular place among family and neighbors. Even a cheese pizza is very tasty as with some of their pastas. Not drowning in cheese which is very good. I'm thankful that this place offers gluten free options, but I will admit I was not expecting what I received. The gluten free dough substitutions are $5-6 each, and I previously saw a review stating this was the best GF pizza ever, so I assumed (my fault) that it would be house made dough. When I saw the focaccia had a gluten free option, I was so excited since you never see that. When my order was served, I realized the focaccia was just the gluten free pizza crust with some spices, so I spent $11 extra for gluten free options on two items to get two pizzas! I was a bit disappointed since this dough tastes the same as all the crusts from other restaurants that source their GF dough, so it was underwhelming. I will say however, that I appreciated how knowledgeable my server was on GF options. Other than that, the service was so amazing and the drinks were delicious. We have been to this restaurant at least 6 times. Food is always great, service is top notch, and the ambiance isn't too stuffy or trendy. Cost point is higher, but you can tell why in the quality and authenticity of the ingredients. A bonus is it is kid or romantic date friendly. First, there is a kind waiter on the outside who I believe takes your name and seats you but we told him we were going to pick up our food and he took us inside quickly! The inside seems nice, cozy and a bit dim which I like. My boyfriend and I got their pasta and pizza. 1. Penne salsiccia pasta: This pasta was good and you could really smell and taste the Italian sausages and truffle oil. There are also mushrooms, spinach, sun dried tomatoes, and shaved Parmesan in white wine sauce. It was good but I'm not quite sure if I would get this again. There was a lot of oil sitting on the bottom just fyi. 2. La pizzeria signature pizza: My boyfriend and I really enjoyed this pizza! It has all the toppings I love on a pizza and made it delicious and flavorful! There was a good ratio of tomato sauce and mozzarella cheese. It was OK, we had tried it in Italy and this one definitely lacked some flavor... The entrees were the smoked salmon pizza and lasagna. The lasagna stoll the show, and made the pizza seem bland. Came here for a lunch with some coworkers on a weekday. For apps, we shared garlic bread and arancini -- the garlic bread was amazing but the arancini was alright. Something I really appreciated about the menu is that there were so many pizza and pasta options! My go to is usually a prosciutto arugula pizza so I ordered that. I had a craving for wood fired pizza and found this place on Yelp. There was no wait when we got there. We had the option of indoor or outdoor seating. We opted for indoor because it was a hot day. My wife and I shared the Quattro Stagioni, which is a pizza with a different topping in each quad: ham, artichoke, mushrooms, and olives. It's not what I was expecting, so we spread the toppings so each slice had all 4. No biggie. Turned out great!! The spicy oil on the table was excellent with the pizza. IMHO Made an online reservation. Didn't really need to. At 11:30 a.m., the restaurant was empty and waiting for us to arrive and choose our table! We chose a nice inside table near the sunny window. My friend and I both opted for the lunch combo special of half panino and our choice of a cup of soup or half salad, both $14. Our amiable server, Emanuel offered his suggestions and when asked, the correct Italian pronunciation of our entrees. :) My half panino was "panino ai carciofi", salami, artichoke, parmesan cheese, mayonnaise & pesto sauce. My friend's panino was "panino sausage and porcini", homemade sausage patty, sauté wild porcini mushroom, lettuce, and truffle oil. Both paninos were hot, delicious and flavorful. This is my favorite place for pizza! My new favorite is the charcoal based pizza dough, margherita style with added burrata. I absolutely love their gnocchi and desserts as well. They have a lot of delicious pasta sauces and are flexible with substitutions throughout. They have gluten free and vegan options too, which is nice to see an authentic Italian restaurant offer. Cocktails are properly made and always make you wanting one more. The service is always 5-star and the wait staff friendly, professional and personable. Ambiance is nice but relaxed. We went on a whim and an enjoyable, well-paced meal. We arrived early and were seated immediately. We were given time to review the menu and time to ask questions. The food was all prepared fresh. While there are no pictures, we all had pasta dishes. Spaghetti Bolognese is a staple at any Italian restaurant and this dish was wonderful. There was also Ravioli with Short Rib and Penne with house-made Sausage. All were delicious. My only criticism of the dinners...too much salt. The Tiramisu was divine. Some of the best I have had. It was light and airy. The favors married so well together. I would loved to have had another but it was not in the cards. The wine was also wonderful and went well with all of the dishes.
