The Closest Thing to Italy Without the Jet Lag! As an Italian, I'm admittedly a bit of a pizza snob, but Doppio Zero hits the mark every single time. We've been here a few times now, and it's always top-tier. The pizza dough is soft, thin, and remarkably fresh--exactly like what you'd get in Italy. On our most recent date night, we showed up 30 minutes ahead of our reservation hoping to just grab a spot at the bar, but the team graciously seated us right away. Our server, Marco, was fantastic--friendly, attentive, and full of great recommendations that complemented our choices perfectly. Pacing throughout the night was spot-on; we never felt rushed, nor were we ever left waiting. We started with the olives (the lemon zest flavor is incredible) and the prosciutto and burrata. The starters were delicious, and adding a splash of the table olive oil and vinegar to the bread and burrata made it even better. For the main event, the spicy soppressata on the Carne Mia pizza paired amazingly with the fruit-forward Primitivo Di Manduria wine. I was delighted to see Doppio Zero open in Campbell. It's my favorite pizza in the Bay Area. And the side of Swiss chard is a perfect accompaniment. The menu is enticing and I look forward to returning and sampling more items! The space is well-appointed and sparkling clean. Outdoor seating is available. We were seated inside immediately for lunch on a Sunday. The interior is super cute and there is a variety of items on the menu to suit everyone's taste. We shared the meatballs as an appetizer and the fig and prosciutto pizza with a side of hot honey. I'd pass on the meatballs it was small and underwhelming. It was my first time trying Neapolitan style pizza, there's not much structure and you eat it like a sandwich. The pizza came in 4 large slices which was a great portion between the two of us, it could've even fed 3 if you weren't too hungry. I almost hate to write this review since the wife and I have gone to Doppio Zero multiple times and always had a good experience. However I went back last Friday night with a couple of friends and things were drastically different. I sat at the bar as I normally do. We were helped by a tall, thin bartender with long dark hair in a ponytail. I won't say he was unfriendly but he definitely wasn't very personable. He basically just took our orders and that was it. I ordered the Cauliflower soup and the Oxtail Fettucine. Well after waiting a pretty long time and starting where my soup was of course our entrees arrive with me being given the soup and pasta at the same time. I hate when restaurants do that. If I ordered an entree and dessert would you bring me my dinner and dessert at the same time? Of course not. I guess I needed to specify that I wanted the soup as an appetizer. So I just let the soup sit and ate my pasta. I had previously told the bartender that I would be wanting a recommendation for a glass of wine to go with the pasta later. Now every other time I have done this whether at Doppio Zero or any other restaurant, the server will give a couple of options and I will ask for a taste of each one and then choose the one I want. Not this night. After being about half way through my Fettucine, the bartender comes over and hands me a glass of red wine. I was like, "What is this?" He says, "It's the wine recommendation you asked for." Now luckily the wine was good and I did indeed like it, but what if I hadn't? I don't even know what the wine was. The bartender never once checked on us. It was a busy Friday night so I will cut the guy a little slack, but I was pretty bummed out after having numerous other dining experiences at Doppio Zero that were much better and hyping up the restaurant to my friends. Ordered dinner for delivery from Doppio Zero last night. A Yelp friend had raved about the spinach ravioli, so I ordered that. I also ordered the Pera Pizza, knowing it would be too much food and I'd have tasty leftovers for the next day. The spinach ravioli was filled with wild mushrooms and ricotta and was nestled in a fondue truffle sauce. It was very rich, but quite delicious. The Pera Pizza was topped with slices of pears, mozzarella, goat cheese, bacon, and a little honey. It was also delicious, but could have used more pears. It was a flatbread pizza, and the bread was scrumptious. Overall, it was a nice dinner and I did indeed have plenty of leftovers. Another excellent lunch with my daughter at Doppio Zero in Campbell! The shrimp and calamari appetizer is just perfect. The calamari is so tender! It almost melts in your mouth. The fresh warm sourdough bread has inspired me to start consuming more of this gut healthy bread. They even serve their water in a glass wine bottle (no more plastic consumption for me.) The service was awesome. The waiter even wanted to sit next to you and the kids at the booth. They closed out their San Jose Wolfe location after COVID. Tried Doppio Zero for lunch on a Wednesday. We were a party of 5 and they got us immediately seated. We ordered Calzone and Salmone Griglia. They were really good. But the vegetarian dish with Eggplant wasn't as great. Last time I had their vegetarian Ravioli and that by far is the best choice out of all their vegetarian dishes. The service was quick too. I was very disappointed with my experience. The prices have gone up significantly, yet the food portions have become incredibly small--more like a kids' meal than an adult serving. I left the restaurant still hungry because there simply wasn't enough food. It feels like they keep raising prices while reducing portion sizes, and the value just isn't there anymore. To make matters worse, they automatically charge an 18% gratuity on top of the already high prices. I don't feel they respect their customers when they continue to charge more while serving such small portions. As a paying customer, I expect a fair meal for the price. There are plenty of other restaurants that offer much better value and show more respect for their customers. I can't recommend this place, and unfortunately, I won't be coming back. read more

(Water and lemon please) she walked away and water & lemon were brought to our table. About 5 minutes later she came back and asked if we were ready to order? She didn't ask if we had any questions or even told us about the days specials, she never came by to ask us if we wanted more water (which we did, wifey had to ask her) she didn't ask us if we needed anything or if the food was good (heck she didn't even ask if we wanted dessert!!! I was like what the heck! I wanted the tiramisu, but since she walked away, I said, screw it,) and when I paid the bill she asked me if I wanted a printed receipt? and I said yes " guess what she never gave it to me so I had to go upfront and ask for the printed receipt" (sorry no tip for you) i'm not the type of guy who arbitrarily gives tips just because you believe it's customary. When they don't work for them, I don't give them. " This server either needs to be retrained or the management needs to get their heads out of there You know what, such a shame because the food is excellent. The ricotta cheese was a very nice touch it melded well with the basil. (Creamy rich, decadent.) definitely the best calzone I have ever had. I wanted to really love Doppio Zero but overall, it was just an average experience. The ambiance and indoor space is modern and chic. It was pretty spacious, as it's a corner lot, with extra seating outside for those that want some extra people watching. We got seated right away and our pizzas came out quick. However, the service was lackluster. Our server didn't check on us once after bringing us drinks. We had to flag someone else down to get our check and to go box. The margarita pizza was good with its wood fired crust and just the right amount of cheese, but also it was a little soggy on the bottom. There's quite a lot of pizza options with different types of meat but not a ton of vegetarian options. I was wanting to try their vegan, but not a fan of eggplant and the menu noted "no modifications." I may give them another try at a different location and split some small plates and salads. We got a table out on their breezy outdoor seating area and kicked the night off with a round of their amazing cocktails, the mixology program here is a huge sleeper hit. For starters, you have to get the crispy Potato Croquettes and the incredibly fresh Burrata dish. When the mains hit, the table went dead silent. Their handmade pasta game is elite. The standard Ravioli and the Vegan Ravioli are pillow-soft, but the absolute stars for our group were the pillowy Gnocchi, the incredibly rich Fettuccine with Wild Boar ragu, and the striking Squid Ink Pasta loaded with seafood. Now, let's talk about the Neapolitan style pizza. We ordered the classic Margherita Pizza and the earthy Fungo Pizza. The flavors are 10 out of 10, fresh mozzarella, bright tomato sauce, and high-quality toppings. Just an insider heads-up: true to traditional Neapolitan standards, the high-heat wood fire leaves the center of the pie very soft and wet. A few friends noted the crust bottom can get a little soggy in the center, so eat it fast or fold it like a true Italian! A delicious meal in a beautiful setting. I visited on a Tuesday evening, and it was surprisingly busy. Since it was a weekday, I didn't think there'd be quite so many people, so I'm glad I made a reservation ahead of time. The atmosphere was inviting, with warm lighting and minimalistic decor. There was a pleasant chatter from the customers. My experience was overwhelmingly positive, but I will note the service was extremely slow. It took us probably 20 minutes to flag down a waiter, order, and get water. There was free bread, but we didn't get it until after our meal arrived, which was interesting. I don't think (or I'm hoping) this was an anomaly. The restaurant was busy but not overwhelmingly so. The food was superb. I've been to the MV location and really enjoyed the dishes I ordered, so I knew this would be a memorable meal. I highly recommend the Marechiaro, a squid ink pasta in a spicy tomato sauce with plentiful seafood. The sauce is so fragrant, and I love how the pasta has a bit of a bite to it. The noodles were perfectly al dente. The fettuccine wild boar was another standout dish. The braised boar was extremely tender and melted in my mouth. The housemade noodles were once again nicely al dente. I really enjoyed the Doppio Zero pizza. The freshness of the arugula contrasted against the creaminess of the burrata and the saltiness of the prosciutto. I did notice there wasn't much prosciutto on the pizza - a couple extra pieces would have enhanced the dish! The dessert was good but honestly a skip. The tiramisu and limoncello cake were fine but a pricey penny for a small portion. There are particular dishes I love at Doppio Zero (specifically the Marechiaro). Servers are friendly. Setup is spacious enough. Only thing is they have smaller tables for three, which are actually only for two. So adjusting plates once food came was a circus. We ordered one white porchetta pizza and one red carnivore pizza with pepperoni and sausage. The meat pizza was good and flavorful. The pizza crust is not soggy in the center but is weak since the pizza crust is thin. It had a crispy and little chew for the crust. The white pizza was ok other than the issue that the porchetta was very dry. Dipping it in the olive oil balsamic vinegar helped. For a pizza over $20 I expect the pizza to be on point. The place is priced on the high side so this isn't a place I would go to regularly but I would come back and try something else on the menu. read more

Asked for a booth, and even though booths were available, we were seated in the bar area. No biggie. Unfortunately, as soon as we sat down and ordered our food, I got hit with an unbearable migraine. I've been a big fan of Doppio Zero since visiting their Mountain View location years ago. While I've tasted quite a bit from the menu at the other location, I've only been here for happy hour, which was great! Happy hour (at the time I wrote this review) is Monday-Thursday from 4:30-6. They do offer their regular full menu during this time, but they also have some food and drink specials. Our group shared meatballs and a small happy hour pizza, then got a variety of drinks. I got an aperol spritz and a glass of wine, all of which were discounted on happy hour. Service was super friendly, we sat outside and they were actively moving umbrellas to make sure we stayed shaded. Can't wait to come back here more often! read more

I was seated right away for a Thursday at lunch but unfortunately, the service was slow. Although I appreciated being given space to talk, it took a while to order and then a while to get our check because the server had a party of 8. It wasn't packed so not sure what the lag was. Amazing Italian place. This place was recommended by one of my Italian friend and it is truly phenomenal. All the food was so done so well. The polpo was a little small but the texture and salad pair with it was on point. For little gem it was also very refreshing and you could really taste the anchovies. For both of these dishes, I think the hardest thing about salad is seasoning it correctly since if too much sauce it gets soggy but too little would make you feel like you're just eating raw veggies so they do a great job seasoning it. For the pastas, I could not stop eating the Marechiaro Pasta. It was seasoned perfectly, the seafood was not overcooked, and the pasta was perfectly al dente. The wild boar fettuccine was also great, the slow cooked meat was not dry and overly chewy and meshes with the pasta perfectly. Now the pizzas. I cannot stop talking about their Figs pizza. There are so many pizzas so I wouldn't know if it's their best pizza but it definitely blew me away. The ingredients used, the salty from the prosciutto, savory from the balsmic, with a tiny little bit sweet from the figs, really compliments the perfectly chewy dough makes me finish a slice in seconds. The sopressata pizza was also really good, it is pretty spicy for people who can't handle spice, I loved it but the figs one just took over the show. We started with the prosciutto and burrata and the artichoke appetizer. Both were fabulous. For entrees, we had the vegan ravioli and the short rib risotto special. Our cocktails were great, and our server gave excellent recommendations for both drinks and entrees. The risotto was phenomenal. Ordered the Porchetta pizza and mushroom pizza--liked the mushroom pizza much more!! Porchetta pizza will not be ordered next time! Their truffle fries are good too but fries should not cost $10!! read more

Had the worst dining experience ever. First, we were sat at a table with wobbly legs. Try sharing a plate with a shaky table. One pizza we ordered, the margarita, tasted so bland. Neither the dough nor the cheese had any flavor. We didn't understand what the hype was all about. Secondly, we ordered the spicy honey & jalapeño pizza that apparently had ham. When we mentioned it to our waiter, L***s, his response was "so?". As in so what if it had ham. If he doesn't understand food restrictions, then he shouldn't be in the customer service industry. This place needs to train their staff better and teach them to be more mindful of other people's restrictions/ allergies. Such a disappointment for a new place to fail in so many ways. read more
