This was not an original food stop. We were passing by and hangry and so glad we picked this place. The food was yummy, nice and freshly cooked. The place was decent size but served its purpose to sit and eat and go. The service was good, you basically order at the counter and they call you up to grab your food when ready. Overall pretty good place

Nice little hamburger place in San Rafael. It is next to the Trader Joes. The hamburger was very tasty and everyone in my party loved them. The French fries were just okay for me but everyone else loved them.

    A mouthful!

Truely a good burger spot. "Best" in town is arguable... The burgers and eating area remind me of Frosters' Freeze - that old school fast food, soft serve in a cone, diner. Yummy basic burger without any nonsense. That being said, the prices seem fair for the quality. $9.75 for a double cheese burger, which are pretty big, especially the meat patties. Doesn't quite beat In-N-Out, but this is Marin County and Best Burger is not large chain. Flavor wise, it reminds me of a "gourmet" A&W burger; not sure if it's the meat or the bun... Expect a good burger and great curly fries here. SRHS is right across the street so beware of massive lunch lines

Cheeseburger, small fries , small shake, $18, wtf

$18 for a cheeseburger, small shake and small fries! WTF! Portions are small. $3 extra for a slice of cheese , a single thin ring of onion, and a couple mushrooms. I have left paying full meal prices for a small burger and fries. Still hungry Wont be back. Though the owner is nice

Well after the long ceremony, it was time to grab some grub and celebrate properly with all that made the trip to San Rafael to see the ceremony. So I had reservations at a few spots in town that I thought were pretty good options to grab a bite afterwards but my daughter had other ideas. She told us after graduating all she wanted to do was just go grab a Banh Mi and a Vietnamese coffee at the spot her and her friends went to many many times over the past four years. Nostalgia I tell ya. Well after a small debate, I relented and we headed to Banh Mi & Coffee on Grand Avenue in San Rafael. Parking for this little shop is a nightmare as it's a very small shopping strip with just a few spots-some of us had to find street parking in this highly congested area. Once inside this very cozy shop, it's almost like stepping back in time. To call it a no-frills shop is quite the understatement. But for some reason, something told me this place was going to be great! We ended up going with a mix of different sandwiches-a few grilled porks and a few grilled chickens and a Vietnamese coffee Sandwiches ran around $7.00 each and the Vietnamese coffee ran around $5.50. There was a slight discount for paying in cash. The sandwiches got to us after a very short 10-12 minute wait and I so love when I'm right about a place. These Banh Mi sandwiches were legit-very tasty-very filling-meat cooked well, right amount of veggies-I've got to admit, even though I was hesitant, it truly hit the spot. I preferred the grilled pork over the grilled chicken, but others in the party preferred the chicken. The Vietnamese coffee was pretty perfect as well-truly took me to the moon and back with its mix of coffee strength and sweetness-I was going to be buzzing off that thing the entire ride back home to Sacramento. I truly can see why the students at Dominican University love and cherish this place so much. Even though it wasn't what I had in mind for a graduation meal, it ended up working out pretty well and at the end of the day all that really matters is sharing quality time and food with the people that matter & Banh Mi and Coffee definitely provided the quality food. I highly recommend this place if you're ever in the San Rafael area and feel like enjoying a high-quality, authentic Banh Mi.

The owner was super friendly and coffee was ready really quick. Definitely the coffee hit the spot and was really good. Next time I will get a Banh mi sammie.

Rocky's Quality Meats is the perfect name for them because they do have quality meats. I've ordered their turkey and cranberry panini a couple times as well as the rueben and the tomato and pesto panini. They don't skimp on the quantity of meat in the sandwiches either. They are tucked inside the Santa Venetia market and are a separate business. You have to pay for whatever you ordered at the counter and not the front cashier. Besides their sandwiches they also offer homemade sides, various raw meats, sausages, frozen ravioli and they bbq ribs and chicken outside the market every Friday. The guys behind the counter are always fast and friendly. Be prepared for a long line during the lunch hour. It's worth the wait.

It's inside the market but it's own business (as I understand, partners with the SV Market). It's open Monday-Saturday and they offer top quality meats - from seafood, locally sourced free range chicken, beef and more. I love their homemade Chicken Apple Sausage while my wife prefers their spicy Italian Sausage. We have also enjoyed their sandwiches (beware around 12noon there is a line from folks working at the Marin Civic Center). Our favorite is their Reuben sandwich - with pastrami, sauerkraut, Swiss cheese, and Thousand island dressing then heated in a Panini press. And most every Friday Dante and team are out front smoking and barbecuing. Folks in the community know to come by for Chicken, Ribs, and Tri-tip. Friendly service, reasonable prices and high quality food can be found at Rocky's Quality Meats.

They do have a to-go area where you can place order and pick it up, rather than going into the actual restaurant. My go to dish is the bistec sandwich, paired with their house special hot sauce, it is soooo good!!!! They also sell bottles of their hot sauce and salad dressing which is amazing. I recently tried their plantain burrito and it was also very delicious. My go to drink is their ponche which is super refreshing, especially during their summer months. I always forget to take photos of the food before I eat here because I am so excited to always dig in! I'll aim to come back soon to take photos and update my review. I love that they also have a mill valley location as well as Petaluma!

I came around 5:50PM on a Sunday night and had to wait about 10 minutes, but by the time I left around 6:30PM, the line was out the door and then some. Definitely get here early, and parking shouldn't be too hard with a lot nearby and free street parking. This spot is pretty casual, as in you order at the counter before grabbing a number and sitting at a table. As opposed to a food hall, you get directed where you sit before ordering, and sometimes end up sharing a table with another party, especially in my case when you have a party of 2. Service was attentive and food came out at a decent pace, though they did not come all together. I ordered a large Bistec Sandwich and a Pasteles Special. The Bistec sandwich is a must order, and I recommend ordering the sandwich over the plate due to how fragrant the bread was. Pictures might not look like much, but the bread was sooo good and crispy, and they give a good balance of meat, avocado and veggies. It can be a little heavy, but a large sandwich was perfect for my wife and I to share along with another plate. The Pastales was alright - the rice is pretty unique if you're looking for new flavors, but the pork was a little stinky and dry. The hot sauce on the table is really good and managed to mitigate that, and it's not as spicy as you'd think given the color and smell. The banana leaf in the tamale made it really fragrant with a unique taste, and the lemon sauce on the salad balanced the entire plate out. For a party of 2, I recommend ordering the Bistec Sandwich in large size (since I believe the regular price only gives you half) and another plate. I also recommend using the toast tab (online order) to look at the menu over their actual menu; the UI of it makes it hard to choose what to order and the toast menu has pictures next to the menu item. Given that Marin food options can be quite expensive or fancy, this place is the perfect place to go for a unique food spot, especially if you're coming from SF.
