Log onto Apple Support to get battery changed on my iPhone 14 Directed to Best Buy Geek Squad as "Authorized Apple Repair Center" Went to Best Buy website and complete a long form on what I needed and scheduled an appointment. Arrived to my appointment and checked in. Come to find out I had to activate an iPhone security bypass that takes an hour (not their fault). Hang out for another hour, disable the security bypass and check in again with the Geek Squad. Informed that they do not have the replacement battery in stock and cannot order one. Refered back to an Apple Repair Center. Issues: - Should have not accepted my appointment if parts not in stock - Should have check inventory on first check-in and avoid an waste of an hour. - Should be able to order the battery - they say they can not. Went in and bought the Meta Queat 2 VR game here a little over a week ago. Costco now has a bundle with the game and a case for $70 less. I called and they said the price match up to 15 days (worst time limit I've heard of). Since it's been less than 15 days, I drove in expecting a refund of the difference. That's what their policy said. They told me that because Costco advertises a bundle they can't match bundle prices. I explained that Costco is selling the game system and a case for $70 less, I wasn't asking for the case. They repeated that their store policy is that they can't match the bundle price. I informed them I would be returning the system and taking my money elsewhere in the future. Having recently had a house fire, we are looking at replacing all of our electronics from TVs to computers to game systems. A less sleazy company will get our business and money. Worst customer service ever! I bought an HP printer and the extended warranty from Best Buy, 4 months ago. For reasons still unknown the printer stopped working and showed info that the printer ink was an incorrect chip. I went to the online option for assistance and went from bot to a human named Christy. She had me do exactly the same things I had already tried and had the same rest I already had. She asked me to take the printer to the store for the Geek Squad to check it. I specifically asked Christy if I needed an appt. She specifically said no and to just take it in. I took the printer to the SE 82nd store where I was told at the entry appt's are required and no exceptions made. When I asked how the online service team can say otherwise I was told "I don't know. You can try waiting to see if they will help you." I waited in line about 10 minutes. The service person named Julie simply reinforced that an appt was needed, and made NO EFFORT at customer service. She acknowledged that the online chat often gives misinformation and even refused to let me leave the printer and pick it up later after they checked it. How can a company survive with such poor online and in person lack of service? What good is having paid for an extended warranty? Even trying to call and speak with a manager gets me to an outsourced call center, "We are very sorry ma'am we will look into your concern." Went in for the scheduled appointment. Representative was very nice and professional, he ran the diagnostics on the phone. I was unable to hear through the ear piece while on phone calls. He consulted with managers, in another room, after getting these results below and said they suggested- since 4 components needed to be replaced, I'd need to have the phone replaced for $549. I declined at the moment (volume still works on speaker phone.) After leaving, I reread the findings and saw that the suggested was to CLEAN the components. I used a small brush and a little air. I placed the order online with him on the phone and he assured me that he saw it come through and could get it ready for me. Awful customer service and total incompetence from start to now. Ordered a washer and dryer with stacking kit to be delivered to small laundry closet space on 12/14. First attempted delivery on 12/23 was told the items bought in store would not work and items could not be installed and would need to order 6ft semi-rigid dryer vent, two 10' washer hoses, and 3 point 10' dryer electric cord to install and that Best Buy does not carry these and would need to be purchased elsewhere to complete the installation. I got the items and second attempted delivery was on 1/15. At this time we were told they again could not install items because we need a 4 point dryer electric cord and were told this time the two 10' washer hoses must be stainless steel. He also said it would require a 6' washer drain hose extension. We ordered the required items and rescheduled installation for 1/24. I received an email the night prior saying everything I'd been told the last two times was misinformation and that they would absolutely not install parts purchased outside of Best Buy and contradicted all of the information we had been given from Best Buy up to this point. These appointments have required me taking work off to be available for, having to pay to do laundry elsewhere for the last month and ten days and caused a lot of confusion, anxiety, stress and anger. When I called to complain I was told the email I received was misinformation and that they would for sure be installing the washer/dryer 1/24 then received a call same day as my appointment (four hours before my appointment window) that they will not install it (for the third time). This whole experience has been awful and no one on Best Buy's end seems to be competent in these sorts of installations and offered very little help throughout the process and provided us with wrong information over and over. They offered no resolution except dropping the washer/dryer off and told me to hire a handy man to install it. Contacted and spoke with a manager on 1/24 who said they would personally call me that evening or following day and I never received a phone call. Not surprising considering the overall experience. Best Buy, you have been my friend lately. With Covid and everything, I have been spending more time online shopping these days. I mean, it is just a click of a button, grab your credit card and select pick up. Generally it is same day pick up too. Ta-da! Easy breezy, right? However, their curbside pick up is just as easy peasy. The pick up stations are clearly marked in the parking lot. Once you drive up and parked, go to your email, select your station number, enter car color and done. Being able to stay in your warm car and practically zero wait, a BB associate will bring out your item in no time. A 4 digit code verification is required prior to them placing the item in your car (they can hand it to you or slide through your window for contactless pickup/delivery). I really do prefer this method because you are social distancing and not have to wait in line inside. I do not have anything really bad to say, except for one note, looks like they have only ONE person running the curbside pickup show; if there are a LOT of people who opt'd for this option.. you DO have to wait for your turn. But HEY, you do not even need to get out of your car though! That's already a win when the weather is bad. read more

On May 10, 2024. I went to the Janzen Beach Best Buy location to exchange a Dell XPS 15 I purchase the day before for an Alienware M18. I spoke with a Dell representative who told me that even though the open-box was marked poor there was no damage and it was deliberately mislabeled to sell faster. When I returned home, the first thing I did was update Windows. However, when the system rebooted to install the most recent updates the screen went black and would no longer boot. I contacted Microsoft, who walked me through an emergency reset procedure but was unable to repair the laptop. Microsoft told me to exchange the laptop at Best Buy. The closest open-box Alienware M18 laptop was at the Clackamas location. I told the employee I wanted to exchange the Alienware M18 laptop for the identical open-box model they had at the store. The employee told me that I would have to pay the difference in cost for the exchange since the laptop they had in stock was marked as excellent condition. I explained to him that I had spent two days driving to three different locations and received two defective laptops. I also explained that the laptop I purchased that morning had been mislabeled and that he should contact the Dell representative at the Janzen Beach location to confirm. The employee told me that he did not have the authority to discount items so I asked him if a manager could discount the item. At this point the employee seemed annoyed and walked off to inquire about the discount. He returned a few minutes later and said that the manager would not discount the item. I asked to speak with the manager, and a few minutes later a woman came over and said that she could only discount an item up to fifty dollars. She then told me to contact corporate if I wanted to price match the item. After the female employee/manager walked off, I said to myself that is "BS" and the male employee became extremely aggressive/hostile. I was surprised by his tone since I wasn't even looking at him when I said the remark. I asked the employee to repeat what he said since I only half heard him and he repeated himself in the same hostile manner. I became concerned for my safety and asked for a refund. He told me fine, and when I asked for a receipt showing the item was returned, he dismissively said it had been emailed to me. I asked for a paper copy and left the store after he annoyedly handed it to me. I returned to my car and contacted Best Buy corporate through their online chat option. I spent over two hours chatting with the Best Buy live agent who told me that there was nothing they could do and to return to the store and speak with a manager. The live agent told me that it was Best Buy's policy to exchange items at no additional cost and that the store employee shouldn't have asked me to pay the difference. I told the live agent I did not want to go back into the store because of how I was treated by the employee. I asked to purchase the laptop online for contactless delivery at the store and have it discounted to the price I paid that morning. The live agent told me that he was not authorized to do that. I spent hours going to multiple stores, wasting time and gas, only to realize that the Best Buy inspected open-box products were defective. I also wasted hours trying to setup the defective laptops and troubleshooting the problems with Microsoft support. And then, to be treated in such a hostile manner by the Clackamas Best Buy employee was just too much. The icing on the cake was finally spending over two hours on live chat with a Best Buy agent only to be told that the store should have exchanged the laptop at no additional cost. It was all just so puzzling, I was only asking them to discount the item approximately 8% so I could exchange the laptop for the identical open-box laptop. read more

Best Buy is always a hit-and-miss venture. My most recent visit was shortly after they reopened, and they were clearly not ready to do so. They were SEVERELY understaffed, and their means of getting help to purchase items was different and unexpected, and the signage advising of this was small and inconspicuous to the point of being utterly ridiculous. As you can see in the photo I posted, the printed on 8 1/2" x 11" paper sign stuck on an unattended podium directed customers to "see the front desk" to get in the "queue". We just needed a laptop computer for my son, but it took almost an hour (and 15 minutes after the store closed) to be able to get it. To make matters worse, when I attempted to seek assistance from the Geek Squad, I was met with further disappointment. Despite waiting in line, the Geek Squad was unable to resolve the issue, leaving me with malfunctioning AirPods and no solution in sight. This experience has left me feeling incredibly frustrated and disappointed with Best Buy. It is unacceptable that a reputable retailer such as Best Buy would sell products that malfunction after such a short period of time, and even more unacceptable that they would refuse to take responsibility for the issue. On multiple occasions I have tried to call in for an answer on something and would never be able to reach anyone. At times, the reps don't seem like they know what they are doing. This particular visit, I came into the store to return my MacBook Pro and Page was able to help me out. My purchase had also come with a Microsoft Office trail that I didn't activate. She had informed me since the trail came with the MacBook, I wouldn't be refunded the $30 which I was extremely disappointed about because I never activated it. After explaining my point of view, she was able to work her magic and I was refunded the full amount. Her ability to make it a personalized experience, along with listening AND understanding the customer's point of view made it well deserving of a 5 star experience. read more

Having been a regular at this location for over a decade and doing nearly all of my business and personal electronics shopping here, this place feels like a second home for me. Every time we arrive we are greeted like part of the family and that is not because we spend money here, as that does not happen but a fraction of the times we walk into the store. Many trips are research for new equipment, Model comparisons, Q&A with staff or warranty issues. They greet the way they do because of the quality people that are hired and staffed here, genuine caring and friendly individuals who do their jobs with a positive friendly attitude. The staff is knowledgable on each of the product lines and will give you a comprehensive comparison between them, really taking the time to answer all of your questions so you can make an informed decision about your purchase. The warranties offered by Best Buy are unparalleled really and I always get them in my larger purchases. The warranties include yearly services and cleanings which if you do them as you should (don't tell me you don't take care if your big screen 1800 dollar TV?) would cost you more than the warranty. If your item breaks the warranty replaces it with the new model. Fantastic store - I don't shop anywhere else! read more

Spoke to Jason in installing, he said, no problem it will only take an hour and its $59.00:to install it. My mouth dropped because of the outrageous inflated price at Car Toys. They wanted $325.00!!! There was a young sales men by the name Erick Villalba who happened to help me and was a great sales men. I'm not one to write reviews idk if I've ever actually wrote one but after tonight I'm very disappointed in the clackamas Best Buy. Unfortunately I broke my phone earlier today and since my husband has a best buy credit card we figured we'd take advantage and use it. We arrived around 7 pm which I know is an hour before closing but my husband worked until 6:30 so we weren't able to go sooner. As we first walked in we weren't greeted by any employees which they have security upfront and another employee was right at the door. Not a big deal at first we weren't upset. We went straight to the iPhone section as I already knew what I was getting as I did my research online and the phone I wanted said it was available at this location. The iPhone section is relatively close to the checkout stand which there was three employees there who just kept staring at us didn't bother to come over at all. We patiently waited about 15 mins or so as many employees walked passed us not saying anything. Finally my husband goes up to the check stand and asked if we can get someone to come help us. They told us we would have to come back tomorrow to get a phone!!!! If that was the case that we came in to late why did know one bother come over and let us know?? Moral of the story very poor customer service especially for the amount of workers. I work in customer service and I'm pretty understanding in situations but not when the store is almost empty with many employees working.
