The store was clean and organized despite it being a little busy, and the employees were super helpful without forcing upsales in my face. I ended up needing help finding the mics as they were split up into three different areas strangely enough, but once I knew where to look I found what I needed instantly. Terrible experience - Paid over the past 2 years for Geek Squad protection. Placed on auto pay through credit card. When I went to use the service for a printer problem, learned they had dropped my plan. I did not authorize that nor did I get a message from them that they needed a credit card update. My drafts went fine for other bills that draw. No credit card change. Spoke with Geek Squad who can't show me that an alert was sent because it's done through an automated service. Bye bye bestBYE! I will never buy from you again! The extended warranty is a scam and waste of time and $. You pay the $180 a year for free labor and parts. This only covers one year after manufacture warranty. Plus you have to pay a $50 to $100 service fee for them to come look at device. Because they don't look at appliances if you take them into the store. You schedule an appointment 3 days out and take a day off work because they won't let you take the appliance into the store. I know because I took my microwave in and they refused to look at it. They said I have to schedule a service call. Then they email you the day before the scheduled appointment to say they have to reschedule you. So I paid 2 years X $180 a year and $50 service fee for a microwave that cost $400. Here is what happened after the technician got to my house. He opened the microwave. He took a couple pictures of the -SE_ code that was shown, (the same code I told them the day that I called to make the appointment. Then he said he needs to go all the way back to the store to see what the code means so they know how to fix it. I MEAN SERIOUSY? You knew the code before even sending the guy out. NOW, my girlfriend took two days off for them to reschedule one day then come for 10 minutes, take pictures and leave. Now they rescheduled us for Aug 1st to come out and supposedly fix it. ANOTHER DAY MY GIRLFRIEND HAS TO TAKE OFF WORK TO BE AT THE HOUSE... All this could have been taken care of at the store when I drove it over there. Either the fridge had a broken panel, or the dryer was not working, or they didn't deliver the whole order or they didn't do the installation even after I had payed for that service. One thing I want to point out was the help from their Geek Squad team agent, Ramon who helped shop with me for what I was looking for. I honestly just came in to browse around and get an idea but Ramon ended up building my home computer experience for me and I saved some money which wasn't a problem for me. Ramon read the specs for me, checked to see if there was other products for me that was similar, and really went above and beyond for me. This may sound corny but Ramon really embodies what customer service should be now a days. It is difficult to find an employee anywhere that wants to help you. I never realized how useless Best Buy is as a company, until today. I would like to specifically like to thank this location for that. My husband & I spent a few thousands of dollars on business equipment, after holding onto it for a few days we decided to go with another familiar brand also available at Best Buy. He went in to return what we bought & without saying a word, the employee returned our items and subtracted a $300 restocking fee. Once he realized there was such a fee, he decided we would just keep the equipment. He hasn't stepped foot outside the store, it was literally just a few minutes not even close to half an hour until he made the decision. The employee proceeded to tell us that it was "impossible" to keep it and a manager also chimed in to say the transaction was "irreversible." If you charge a restocking fee for un-used items, fine. But if you also won't let us keep them for what we paid and force us to lose our money, then you're a garbage store manager. If you have any technical issues, go see Josh, he will tell it to you straight and put your fears at ease! I cannot say enough good things about this Geek Squad! Having recently moved to San Antonio, I was extremely nervous trying to find a new everything, especially Geek Squad. My computer and I have a long history, and I was hesitant to trust my computer to new people. In August, I brought my computer in for running slow, battery life and general issues and the staff was helpful and I had my computer back within a few days. Fast forward to last week. After a stressful and work intensive first semester, my computer needed some more love. It was running slowly, crashed every time I opened a PDF, windows would not close when I exited out of them and the battery would barely last a half day. Finally, I couldn't take it anymore. In a panic, I drove over to Best Buy with the hopes of turning my computer in that day for some TLC. However, the Geek Squad member told me since I did not have an appointment, so I was unable to leave my computer that day. After giving him a run down of the issues I was experiencing, the technician gave me detailed instructions on how to potentially fix my computer, but because I am not technologically savvy, I decided to come back. (Side note, it is hard to create to make an appointment with someone over the phone, therefore you should try to make an appointment online). When I came back, Josh greeted me, and actually remembered me from my visit in August! While talking about my poor computer, Josh asked me about my necklace and if it was important to me in some way. He also asked about my studies because he saw my LSU jacket and UTSA stickers. After going through the run down of my issues, Josh went to work! Unfortunately, my Geek Squad plan had expired, so he gave the cold truth. Spend $200 on a new Geek Squad plan and hope they can fix my phone or put that $200 towards a new computer. Bought a HomePod (Open Box - Excellent Condition) and it was broken the moment I plugged it in.. I called Apple and they said it was an issue that would have to be sent in for repair to fix/replace. I'm not sure selling something BROKEN is "Excellent Condition" I asked the an employee at customer service if they tested the products before labeling them for sale. All I got from him was a dismissive glare behind his mask, and the option to pay the difference and buy a new one. So basically "we'll sell you an item we label 'Excellent Condition' without really knowing what condition it's in, but the physical item looks acceptable, here you go... good luck." My savior on this Sunday has now become RICO CONTRERAS the Senior Agent in charge. Dude stepped up, deflected and absorbed my frustration and turned it into results. He addressed the issue, offered me options and solutions and got me out of there in 30 minutes with a working phone. Excellent service and handling of my escalated complaint regarding the all important part of our life, the cell phone. Great asset for your company and an example of leading by example in a calm, expeditious manner. This guy is an asset to your company, period. Holiday season can be stressful and unrelenting, and he deals with it all (so far, anyway) like a champ. Subpar Microwave ($$$) still in my kitchen due to inept Customer Service agents at Best Buy!! I didn't want to review this particular store poorly, (La Cantera), but rather their 800 number for Customer Service and Geek Squad. I have an extremely frustrating issue that still hasn't been resolved. I have spent several hours on the phone with our online order and apparently the return team. We purchased a microwave, we didn't like it because it was less functional than our last one and way more expensive. Now we can't seem to return it, as I no longer have the box. In the meantime, they sure can order a new one for you and take another $1k! I have been disconnected on the phone twice after over a 1/2 hour on hold with no call back. As a paying Geek Squad member, why do they ask for all of our information, name, email, home address and call back number if they keep hanging up and not calling back? What service am I paying for on an annual basis? I have 3 different answers from 3 different teams and just now while being transferred to a Return Specialist group, there were no notes in the system from previous conversations, so I had to start over again. At the 1/2 hour mark, someone finally answered and low and behold - the call disconnected again!! Surprise, surprise, no call back - Again. I am still at step one and paying for 2 microwaves... Lord help you if you ever have to deal with this company over the phone. You are better off trying a smaller/local shop with better customer service. read more

tl;dr: this store refused a large return because they were near closing and didn't want their numbers negatively impacted. They also lied and made up an excuse as to why. Let me start by saying that I'm a former employee from years ago, actually worked at BBY for 6+ years. I've spent literally 10's of thousands over the years there. 99% of my purchases have been pleasant experiences. My experience today, at this store, was horrendous. I purchased a very expensive and high end MacBook Pro online from BBY's website. I have tried it for a couple of weeks and while it is a beautiful device, I'm not a fan of macOS and decided to just go back to a Windows computer. To return this item, I went to this store and explained to the customer service rep that I am overall not happy and I'd like to return it. She went through the motions, pulled it up, saw the price and ran off to wherever. 5 minutes go by, no one is talking or explaining anything to me. After a few more minutes, three managers (I assume they're managers), came up to me and were looking at their POS. I asked them what's going on and they said it's not returnable, but they're looking into it. Perplexed, I asked them why it wasn't returnable. They said it's because it's a custom order. Well, it's not a custom order, I ordered it directly from BBY's website. I told her to escalate this because that is absurd excuse and was baseless. She told me I can call corporate. So I did, I called corporate. They were as perplexed as I was and couldn't understand why the store refused the return. As we were chatting, he told me he asked in their communication channel and employees in that channel were also confused on why a store returned. The gentleman at corporate said it's returnable, it's not custom and that he would be issuing me a return label and I'm welcomed to take it into any store. I can also ship it back. So, in summary, this store refused a refund because it was near closing time and they didn't want a nearly $5,000 purchase to negatively impact their numbers. This is a very scummy practice and I know it all too well from being a former employee. Best Buy is terrible at accepting returns and are great at making you feel really uncomfortable during the return process. If I were you, I would avoid making any major purchases from this store, as if you're not happy, you're SOL. read more

Have never ever had that happen. Benney, one of the squad members, came today to recover my computer and my phone after having been hacked. He did a great job and will remain my computer resource. He was fabulous. Another amazing thing was not speaking to a robot in the entire process -oh my gosh that makes such a difference to talk with another person instead of being talked at by a machine! This is what you get when you spend almost $4,000 in all new appliances with Best Buy. My partner and I were so excited to have all new appliances in the home we are renovating. We went into the store on a Tuesday evening and picked out everything we wanted. Jeff was our salesperson and we give him 5 stars. Well they tell us delivery time is between 1-4 on Saturday. The delivery people arrive and are very unprofessional and are verbally fighting with one another. We paid $125 for installation of a dishwasher that they never hooked up. A refrigerator that has a dented freezer door in 3 places. A vent hood that never arrived. Now Cookie our "case manager" has yet to come up with any resolution besides wait for Friday A WEEK later for them to come back and install the vent hood and wait until Saturday which we had already given up one Saturday for them to come back to hook up the dishwasher. Nothing has been said about any resolution on the dented freezer door. If you are excited to have new appliances and are planning a housewarming party to show them off don't go here. It will be 2 weeks with a dented freezer. Will believe it when I see it if the vent hood is delivered and dishwasher hooked up. Very disappointed with quality and lack of cooperation except for taking our money and not getting what we paid for! Update on my review. The installation of the vent hood that was RE SCHEDULED for today because they forgot the vent hood never showed up. The response from Percy was that it was not a the location to be picked up and now has to be RE SCHEDULED for a 3rd Update! The vent hood we ordered was scheduled for instal between 8am and 12pm today. Surprise surprise NO ONE EVER SHOWED UP! Still no response from anyone on Best Buy side. After an hour of waiting while they looked for my equipment they were short 1 Apple TV and told me they would ship it to my house. After a week of waiting I had not received it so I called the store and no one could find any information on it. I later received a text from my sales associate that it was at the store for pickup in the Magnolia department. I went and after getting frustrated and wanting to give up they finally came back with an Apple TV. The box was different than the first I received and I asked if this was the 3rd generation and I was told "yes it it". After getting home and setting up my Apple TV I realized I was lied to, it was as 2nd generation, not the 3rd generation I had paid for.
