I went to Best Buy and I was told by a agent at customer service that my brand new laptop that I brought here a little bit over a month ago which I hadn't used besides to only set up my log in is now not remembering my fingerprint or my log in, and I tried to reset the computer and it's not working. I told him that I haven't restored anything because it's brand new. He immediately brought the manager Shawn who looked me up and down in a very unwelcoming way and told me without even looking my laptop that I have to take it to the Apple store because we don't provide any Macbook assistance here. I was surprised and shocked so I called my friend who helped me to buy the computer and he was five minutes away, so he rushed over really quick to come to help me. Me and my friend went to the counter and asked to speak to a manager which another manager instead of Shawn which was a girl came over to assist. She had gone and spoke to Shawn to see if there was another way to fix the laptop. The suggestion that they came up with was for us to take it to the Best Buy in Oakland, which we live in the SouthBay, so why do we need to drive all the way to Oakland since there are numerous Best Buys in the SouthBay? So my friend made a call to another Best Buy in Mountain View to see if they were able to look at the laptop and they said to bring it over. He also asked them if the Milpitas location serviced Macbooks and he said yes they all do and while we were sitting there we saw another Geek Squad tech hand a customer a Macbook that they had just repaired at the counter. We were both like, I thought they didn't repair Macbooks? So we told the nice woman manager thank you, we will try somewhere else. So we drove to Mountain View and they took time to troubleshoot the issue which was about five minutes and reset the computer because it was having a hardware issue when resetting. So they reinstalled the OS and gave us the laptop which was very nice. I immediately returned it because I didn't want to have any more issues with it since it was a brand new laptop and I was very disappointed with my experience at Best Buy with Shawn. I felt like Shawn racially profiled me by telling me the only Best Buy that could assist me for him to assume is Oakland which is way far away from where I live and didn't even attempt to even look at the laptop or to check with the Geek Squad. He gave me wrong information and treated me bad. I can't believe Best Buy puts this kind of unprofessional and ignorant employee in charge to discriminate and mistreat customers. read more

We have bought a washer and dryer from here before. They did a good job increasing the gaming pc and laptop selection. They also have all the newest best phones you can buy. Going here at to get my entertainment needs and tech needs is super awesome. I have bought numerous items here in the past. Pricing is a hit or a miss on the items because they do have weekly sales so pricing on items changes weekly. They have name brands items and also their own brand called Dynex which is a lot cheaper than the name brands that they sell but it okay to only get if you're on a budget because it's cheap and probably will die faster. They have a large selection of camera's, tv's, computer, wireless, movies, appliances, and other items for your need at home or school. As for their service, it is awesome because the staff at this best buy is very knowledgeable and is willing to help out a customer in anyway they can. Their associates are very friendly and they try to help out everyone they can and as fast as they can in their department to meet everyones needs. They will also price match an item if you find a lower price for the item you want to buy which is awesome. As a customer that comes to best buy a lot, many of the staff know me on a first name basis which I think is awesome because they actually do remember customers that they help out not like other stores out there which their staff just helps you out to make a sale. read more

Went here to get some mobile storage. Didn't have what I was looking for. No big deal but I picked a small San Disk drive that said it was on sale. Turns out the tag was wrong and it was not on sale. WTF? How many of the rest of the "on sale" drives were also marked incorrectly? There were at least a dozen. Since they wouldn't give me the marked price I just left and didn't buy it. The associate was very professional and polite at least. However, I won't spend my money here anymore. Will just buy it online. If big box retailers are worried about online retailers beating them out then maybe they need to start doing a better job. Then after setting an appointment online I get there to find out that the "techs" that do the replacement only keep certain hours so I had to set another yet another appointment during their availability. When I arrived for the last appointment they said they had no record of me setting it and I had to wait for them to service all the walk-ins. They told me the people they were assisting had appointments too, but when speaking with the actual customers they said they were all walk-ins. I am highly disappointed with the "customer service" and disrespect my husband and I received this afternoon from the clerk and manager at this store. I purchased a preorder video game for him which came very late and we ended up needing to return it. The game was completely sealed. Never opened. My husband was the one talking with them since I am not well and pregnant during this pandemic. We recieved the game 8/26 in the mail and went to return this afternoon 9/11. 16 days later. The clerk said it was against their policy and only offered store credit. The clerk called over her manager. Manager was very rude and said we would only get store credit. Even though it was only a few days after the policy, unopened and during a pandemic. The manager was very rude and not understanding our needs at all. He had to respectfully reexplain the situation again and again before she would budge and yelled only this one time and handed the receipt to put the money back on my card. WARNING. PLEASE READ. I had high respect for Best Buy cause everytime when I went, the sales floor was extremely nice and friendly. They weren't pushy for sales or anything and actually cared about the customer's needs. However, they partnered with a shady representative from xfinity. WARNING: This sales representative only cares about making his sales goal or activation goals. He changed my account behind my back without letting me know. Here's the story: I came in with my boyfriend and walked around the store. This Xfinity representative came up and asked how we were doing. Then he asked if we were using xfinity, etc etc. He was offering to give me a lower payment of my bill because I was paying a lot for it. I told him before I make any changes I must talk to my parents about. He kept pushing it and he looked through the plans, mumbled and saw that ours was "better". Then he say "Yeah, I think it would be best for your parent to come speak with us. But hey, just to make you guys happier, I'll just lowered your payments $10 less each month." I was like, "Oh wow thank you so much!" I thought he was representing Comcast's customer commitment to make us happier, but few hours later.... I received an email. HE CHANGED MY PLAN. I got CHARGED $15 ONE TIME ACTIVATION FEE. HE ALSO CHANGED MY PLAN TO XI LATIO WHATEVER PLAN. OMG. I'm not even LATIO! HELLA SHADY AND HE SCREW ME OVER BY ACTIVATING ME UNDER A 12 TERM PLAN. Which he NEVER TOLD ME IT WAS A CONTRACT. FYI. My name was no where on my parent's account. And Yet, He was saying, "I can change to your name to activate today and NOTHING will change your plan." SUCH A LIAR. I gave him the info because my mom and I wanted to know why our internet was so slow and we kept getting disconnections. He needed to look into the account what plan we were on to see why this and that. This is messed up and that's illegal. Especially that he used a customer's information to change plan without a consent and having a primary account holder there. Again, I didn't do or sign anything to accept his offer. I dont know what Best Buy have for their business conduct, but this is sooo messed up. Never again will I go to this Best Buy. I hope anyone who sees this, NEVER give your information to an xfinity representatives there. Calling comcast about it, they said it is a third party from best buy. Also we were already in a bundle deal till the month of 9. They don't even know how this representative was able to change when we were already in a contract. I was asked to show the same price on amazon.com, which didn't make sense and caused much inconvenience. I realize the gm may not have the authority to match a higher gap (same monitor was available on dell.com for $100 less), but atleast be upfront with customer and not lie about not price matching with manufacturer and going against their own company policy. Had an initially fantastic experience with the TV team, and they are great. In fact, the entire staff is great. The manager, though, is an oversized baby who has more muscle than brain. I was returning a TV I bought from another location (I've done returns to a different Best Buy before without issue), but this psycho starts screaming at me loudly, initially blaming me for the damage of the open-box TV. I didn't even care about the open-box damage when I bought it, but the burn-in on the TV was just unacceptable, something I wasn't allowed to find out at the pickup site because they didn't have a remote. The nutjob manager just kept screaming at me, realized his phrasing error, and started being a little calmer. I kept my composure and explained, "Hey dudebro, take it easy, I know you do a lot of reps, okay? Now calm the eff down and realize I'm not blaming you for the TV's condition, I don't even care about it, it's the burn-in." And then he goes on this loud tirade making sure other customers can hear him wailing at me to get out of HIS Best Buy (he literally did say, "MY STORE" which I guess is true, but I don't really care). I tried to call corporate, he freaked out, started screaming again to get out, and refused to talk to them. I'll be back to this store, but only out of convenience. And, the staff is really great. I've had a psycho boss, but that didn't stop me from being a good person. So shoutouts to the great staff that has to deal with that waste of space. read more

I bought a refrigerator on Black Friday because mine broke. They setup a delivery date and time when I purchased the refrigerator, and on the day of the delivery was called to be informed that my refrigerator would be late. That evening I waited and waited and called the delivery service, no answer, then waited some more. They didn't show up, they didn't call to reschedule, and when I did call they told me I had to wait another week. I let them know this was unacceptable and that I needed a refrigerator now. They told me there was nothing they could do about not delivering my fridge. After hours of calling up the food chain at best buy, I was finally connected to someone that said they could help, and that they would help get me my fridge within a timely manner and would also help out considering now I have to eat out with the family every night. My fridge was finally delivered nearly two weeks after I bought it. No one reached out to me to ask if there was anything else that could be done to make this debacle right. I called back numerous times to ask about some sort of compensation for the trouble and am getting a $100 gift card. Thats all they can do. I feel taken advantage of. I would give back the fridge, but then I would need to live without a fridge again and cant afford to take off work to go shopping, wait for a refund to go through, and get rid of groceries. I have never been so poorly treated by a company before, it's an awful feeling. I usually never write reviews until this happened to me. We spent so much on this fridge, now I just look at it and feel likeI'm stuck with regret. Thank you best buy, you really got me by the balls on black Friday. I will never shop at a best buy again, I hope others take heed to my warning. Another lesson learn, I need to praise business that actually do a good job. Tried calling the store and no answer for about 30mins. Decided to come by to purchase an open box Macbook Pro (4 items in stock after looking online) and the worker said they had 2 in stock (not the same online?). After about 20mins of looking around, they were not able to locate any of the MacBooks. The employee asked multiple staff and still could not locate the item. I just got home from an amazing experience at this Best Buy thanks to Jonathan Mendoza, I was looking for a TV but wasn't sure exactly what I wanted in terms of size and brand but fortunately I was assisted by Jonathan, I spent a good amount of time with him asking him about his experiences and recommendations about all the different aspects of TV's/Brands and he was not only clear and concise about the information but was also very patient and never made me feel like I was bothering him. His customer service and knowledge are beyond exceptional and he is definitely the kind of person that gives Best Buy a competitive edge against other competitors. I went in to look at portable speakers and a new TV. When I first got there, I was easily able to find the speakers but finding someone to help me was difficult. I waited around for about 15 minutes to get some guidance while I aimlessly looked at Sony and Bose speakers. Then Nico came to my rescue and showed me the speaker he bought for himself: a Sony - XB30 Portable Bluetooth Speaker. It came in either blue or black and I wanted the blue. It was originally $149.99, on sale for $119.99. It has an awesome function that gives it "extra bass" for the times you need it :) After I decided on the Sony speaker, I went to the TV section and Manzo was the one to help me there. He came up to me within a minute of me walking into the department, so I didn't spend as much time there. He helped explain to me the difference between a curved and flat screen (basically just preference) and he suggested that I get a sound bar to amplify the sound as well as a full-motion wall mount to help avoid sun glare. He also let me know that Best Buy will install the wall mount, the TV, and connect any external systems to the TV all at once so I wouldn't have to lift a finger. I understand why some reviews say that the customer service is lacking, but if you are patient, the employees are really kind and helpful! Just don't come to this Best Buy if you want help and are in a rush. read more

When we were checking out the person was irked and gave us attitude when we mentioned we wanted to use our certificates as well. Unemployment is still high in California & Best Buy Corporate announced they are closing 50 stores. You would think the store manager and crew would be on top of their game. I went in there on a Wednesday night to buy an i-mac computer. There were two on the floor and both were being used by a couple of unemployed teenagers that had nothing better to do than to hang out at the Milpitas Best Buy and use the computers for free. I looked for a sales associate to make my purchase but they were all busy. I ended up buying the computer online at the Apple store.
