This review is embarrassingly late at this point but I've been meaning to send a huuuuuuuge bundle of kudos to a gentleman who helped me pick out a camera around Black Friday (I believe his name is Jackson???) I came in with my parents to browse photography/videography cameras and Jackson walked me through the whole process of choosing the best camera/lens for what I wanted (it ended up being the Canon R8 and 50mm lens. I'm in love with it). He went above and beyond to answer the million questions we had, and he did it in such a way that we knew he genuinely cared about helping me find what was right for me. All his wisdom was spot on and I am so grateful to have met him. Flash forward to now, I was just booked to photograph my first wedding! Jackson if you're reading this, you rock and that 50mm lens is indeed the best! And if Jackson's manager is reading this, please give him a raise!!! read more

My daughter is heading off to college. We found a laptop that fit her needs. Best Buy showed stock at the store. But the store was closed for remodel. So it offered curb side pick up or free next day shipping. So I placed the order and selected next day shipping. The next day I get an email from Best Buy saying delayed 24-48 hrs. Then the day after I get a new email saying it shipped. When I tracked the package the new delivery is 2 weeks until delivery. So I call and was told the package haven't been picked up but since it's packed I can't cancel the order. So now because I can't risk waiting until the 27th delivery date, I have buy another and then I can return the one that hasn't shipped. I'm not the best customer but now I won't be a customer at all. read more

Imade a 5100.00 dollars purchase on home appliances little over a year ago.. the oven range .(L.G ) digital lights started to malfunction. Thinking that we had bought the extra warrenty on all the appliances we bought .. mind you as the sales person was telling us about the best buy customer club she never mentioned that the coverage would be charged to us on a yearly basis, not one time did she mention this .we thought like other thingswe have bought like t.v. s, .computers. that we had had puchased extra insurance for two or three years.. come to find out that we would be paying 199 .00 dollars a year .with auto billing.. so please people ask questions about services that they sell you. Make sure you under stand what you are getting . Since my credit card was compromised at least tree times this year.the card they have on file is not in effect .. so not know this and them ( best buy) not informing us that the card on file was not working .we are shit out of luck on getting our oven fixed. I feel like we were had like an old used car saleswoman. Only inform them the things you need to make the sale .and your commission.. so be on your guard . I like Best Buy but at this location the video games are never stocked. I always have to order online for store pickup and as a customer I would like to have the products stocked daily so I can enjoy my shopping rather than waiting in the parking lot waiting for my online order to be fulfilled when it's clearly in stock at the location but not on the shelves. This store is ridiculous! The hold times. The service you receive after waiting over an hour! When you want to speak with a manager they demand to know why. State that they have to tell the manager "something" before transferring the call. SINCE WHEN? Today alone, I've called 4 times, been hung up on twice, rerouted to another department twice and the attitudes are absurd! their exhales are a review all by itself! Is it my fault you're working somewhere you don't want to be? P.S. I am writing this review as I sit on hold........AGAIN! Current time 1 hr 12 minutes. I enjoy shopping at Best Buy. They have a very good assortment of items that I'm interested in. Two years ago, I purchased a quality 4K Sony 65" tv from them. Later, I decided that I'd like to have an LG 65" Oleg tv. My daughter & her husband's tv was going out so I gave them the Sony tv. & purchased the Oled LG. Each of these televisions have great pictures. In both instances, I was highly pleased with the sales people & especially impressed with the gentlemen who came to the house & did the installation. Soon, I will be purchasing a 60 or 65" tv for my granddaughter & even though my 50 inch Panasonic plasma tv bought there years go is in great condition, I will be purchasing a 70" tv for our master bedroom. I bought a laptop last night but changed my mind today that I didn't really need it after all.. didn't even open it. So I return it back onto my debit card thinking everything is on the up and up. A couple hours later I see that instead of a refund, I have another $922 pending charge. My receipt says it was refunded and when I call the store, they say it's my bank and it shows as refunded (she was being very rude and condescending the entire time, was hung up on once.) She threatened to hang up on me 3 seconds into the conversation because she felt I was talking too loud on my speaker phone. She refused to help, same with cooperate.. both blamed my bank but bank says it is them. They charge and put a hold of the amount of your returned item onto your card (account). So instead of waiting a few days for the $900 To be refunded back to my account, I have to wait for $1800 to post back to my account in 5 days!! How can they get away with double charging like this and then have the nerve to be rude after holding up $900 extra of another person's money? Horrible business practices. read more

I have had no issues with Best Buy staff when at the store, but this experience was all from CSR over the phone. I was looking to purchase a dash cam and found one online. I called to find out what the cost of installation would be for the dash cam, I was quoted $79. Figured this was reasonable so I ordered 2 dash cams online. I shortly received an email for installation; to confirm i called Bestbuy because the price was $159 and it showed a picture of 2 cams. I was told the $159 was for both being I purchase 2. Making a long story short I later found out that it was $159 per installation of dash cam. I spoke with someone in the auto installation department and explained my problem and the incorrect information I had received from two separate CSR's. He has told me if I had purchased in the store I would have been given the correct cost (then what's the purpose ordering online?). I felt as if I was begging to have them swallow the loss and make the customer happy; it wasn't happening but than he said he'd try to work something out. The next day I canceled my installation appointments and went somewhere else. I have no advice to give just hope your online purchases run smoothly for you. read more

Service had been getting worse and worse had a laptop in for repair with Geek Squad and since after 4 days it didn't even show they had my laptop online I called for an update, after being kept in hold for 32 min I felt they only wanted to get me off the phone and couldn't give me any details about what was happening other than they would call me when it's done. We purchased a Samsung refrigerator in 2019 and our ice maker has gone out 5 times and always in the summer. They have sent techs out each time and they all order new parts and replace the parts just to have it stop working again. Best Buy refuses to replace it because they said the refrigerator works and the ice machine is separate. How ridiculous is this?? We did not purchase the ice maker separately from the fridge. We will never buy from Best Buy again! read more

There are times when frustration meets corporate policies and procedures. This was for me one of those times. I want to thank the staff and managers who were very clear and specific about procedures, and were willing to understand a rare incident. I purchased monitor for my pc. 4 days later I finally get to open box due to my bz life. Here is where it went all wrong. No damage to box, but the monitor was strangely damaged right in the middle. No impact, no visual abuse, just cracked. How in the heck do you explain that? You can't. All anyone can do is be honest, state your case, and people somehow know how to tell the difference. You win some, you lose some. This time was not about wining, but it was about an actual pre-packaged damage, I am thankful I did not get to keep. Once again, I wish your would have had another monitor, but it is what it is. Thank you very much to the staff and team. read more

The Only Game in Town... ...at least in Modesto. Being that my Post-recession expectations are greatly reduced, I judge it a "Meh". Generally much better deals on Amazon, Fry's, MicroCenter, Newegg, Costco, etc... Much of what people don't like about Best Buy are ultimately of their own making...you want cheap= made in China, you want Capitalism= crazy profits on cheap junk, etc. Some thoughts/previous experiences at this store: + Good experience with buying a high Tech Washer& Dryer set...good deal with price matching & discounts. Checked out Consumer Reports prior to purchase. + Good deal with a demo high end Macbook...the Apple store does not discount anything....but does know much much more. + Good reasonable Managers. +Sometimes good deals on DVD sets & Bluray. - Ultimately defective demo Bluray player just past 30day return. - Bad deal with a PC notebook return...crappy restock fee...Costco is far superior with all returns! On-line Dell is also better. - Extremely Bad rip-offs on crappy cables which are sometimes 10 times on-line prices! - Some friendly but incredibly ignorant Sales Help who know less than nothing about even their own store selection, let alone Technology! - Super-crappy Mainstream Audio Receivers outside of the understaffed Magnolia (which is a mere shadow of its former self....note the freestanding Magnolia in San Ramon, CA has true Audiophil products with prices to match....try on-line Audiogon for good used quality stuff) - Super super crappy consumer grade stuff everywhere, but not just here but everywhere. I prefer to buy American, European, or Japanese stuff if possible, but since there is little demand, they either do not import it to the US, or do not make it. ? Went to Best Buy in Modesto because they had a cyber power desktop that was on sale for a good price, was greeted by Alexis. He was asking the right questions like what PC do I currently have, how my setup is, what I usually do on the PC, what games I play etc., which are crucial questions especially when it comes to gamers. Got us to buy a good monitor for the right price and got us to also purchase a new keyboard and mouse. He had an upbeat attitude and never broke his smile! Alexis was the one who made this a 5 star experience! We ended up having to order the tower and picking it up at Dublin Best Buy instead because they couldn't find the one they had in stock. Their manager Peter apologized to us for the inconvenience and reassured that it may have been an issue on their end. We were offered tech support and GSP but we had to hold off on that until we were sure about our new PC set up. They hooked us up with a deal for the inconvenience as well. Store was very professional and they all had friendly faces on. Thank you for the great service! read more

This is to review this Best Buy Modesto's Geek Squad service for today, 01/25/2019. My Iphone 7 plus started to lose charge drastically and finally just won't charge at all--just cycle repeatedly through the boot up process. I had checked Apple stores and found that I would have to wait for approximately one week to get an appointment which was why I chose this Best Buy as it had the soonest appointment I could get. The Geek squad personnel that attended to me was Jacob Cardenas ( I had to look at my receipt) and he exemplified stellar customer service. There were a few customers ahead of me and he was just as cordial and helpful to their concerns and questions. My appointment was at 11 but they kindly accommodated me earlier because it was not such a busy morning. Although my phone could not be repaired in store, they made the process of shipping it to Apple, in exchange for a new one, as painless as possible since I didn't even know that I was still covered by Apple care warranty. So thanks Jacob! Best Buy/GeekSquad better recognize a talent when they see one. read more

I make eye contact and the immediately walk away or get busy straightening displays. I finally complained at Customer Service and the young woman just smirked when I stated my complaint. Smirked!! I came by yesterday in search of a surface go 2 tablet that I have been wanting for awhile. Best buy seemed a bit short staffed which was super understandable seeing as COVID is happening right now. My mom and I were waiting for a bit in the electronics area and went over to ask Kenny for help. He assured us he'd be right with us, and when he did he was extremely patient and helpful! despite the number of other folks who came after us and kenny being the one only in that section attending to customers, we never felt rushed. he carefully took the time to go over all of the features of the tablet and recommended a security software that was super affordable! he said he uses it himself which is very reassuring to know best buy's employees are using their products. Caution, for some reason Best Buy has the most disgusting hand sanitizer available for their customers to use. it leaves your hands very sticky and it leaves your hands smelling bad. After a five minute drive home my son and I trying to wash this stuff off. We had to wash ours hand like three times to get rid of the Majority of the smell. This store is awesome. Just purchased new appliance package deal and the Spider Man PS4 Black Friday deal. Customer service is good and they get me what I need quickly and process me out. In and out in less than 20 minutes. My 3rd time buying appliances and there delivery service is good. I have also purchased electronics and appliances online with no issues. Delivery is always on time and so far no problemo! I see people staring at stuff and asking 1000 questions. People need to know what they are buying and do research before you go in so you don't hold up the line and time! After making a purchase from the sales last night, I have had to be on the phone 3 times Less than 24 hours later to try to fix mistakes that they are making on my One order. Each time I've called to fix issues such as them telling me by text that one item is supposed to be delivered ( as I had set it up to be done when I made the purchase) but another small addition to the same order is supposed to be picked up at the store. Since I did NOT want to fight the traffic I did not want to drive 30 minutes to pick up a cord that was purchased to go along with a large appliance. After calling the first time and waiting over fifteen minutes I was able to explain to a person at the store that I didn't want to drive over for a potion of my order that I had been told were to both be delivered. The person I spoke with apologized and changed it so that both items would be delivered on the same day (the way it had already been set up to do) - so I thanked her and she apologized again for their error. I thanked her. But soon after that call was over I was notified by my financial institution that she apparently charged me again for the cord that was now supposed to be arriving the way I originally had set it up to be done. But I have already PAID for the cord. So I had to get Back on the phone and was given the option (supposedly faster) to "CHAT" with an agent. Thinking that might be less painful -I tried that route. The notification said and agent would be on shortly - over an hour and a half later someone came on line to chat but I had given up and got busy doing things and missed the chat person. So then I got on the phone again- 15 minutes later - it is NOT a person from the store who I spoke with before, it is now someone in a call center from another country - one that can not speak English very well and I could not understand what they said and they could not understand me either. So I gave up. Called AGAIN - and was transferred to a call center (AGAIN) but at least this time it was a person who I was able to communicate with. So - once again after being on hold for a Long time, I had to explain the whole thing again and this person apologized and said that the EXTRA CHARGE was being refunded - they apologized and told me that I was not the Only person who this had happened to and that others were both having orders split up and changed as well as the system charging additional when things were changed on an order - so that others were also being charged more than once. So after FOUR attempts to correct errors which were not MY mistake but Best Buy errors - it finally was corrected. But - if you buy anything from Best Buy - you need to check your orders carefully for double charges especially if THEY make any changes in your order or delivery set up. At a time when people are already busy and a lot of money is being passed over - I hope others are keeping a close eye one THEIR orders and the charges for those orders! Buyer beware (as the old saying goes). Also - other than apologizing for their repeated errors as well as the extensive Time required to correct those errors - no offers were made to compensate me for the necessity of correcting their mistakes and/or all the time it took to correct the mistake. While I am not a person who is greedy or tries to milk the system for money - it is evident by not even offering anything in apology for the inconvenience that they inflicted on paying customers - not even a $5 off coupon on your next purchase or ANYthing - that they really are Not truly sorry about what they are putting others through with the system which is not operating very well. It is not worth the hassles that I had to go through to get the dumb thing 10 or 20 dollars cheaper at Best Buy! If you can find the same item somewhere Else - even if it is just a bit More Expensive - - PAY the extra few dollars to get better service and fewer mistakes! And keep an eye on what they are DOing! read more

Had an EXCELLENT experience today exchanging a laptop I recently purchased that was giving us charging problems. From the greeter at the door, to the Geek Squad guy who went above and beyond (I didn't catch your name) to the dude in customer service and the guy in the Computer Department. I went to get a cover for my wife's and my cell phones. I walked into the store at 6:58 and it closed at seven. I was helped by a very polite young man named Gavin. I told him what I needed which was honoring the warranty on my screen protector and getting a new cell phone cover for my wife. Gavin couldn't have been nicer. The store had closed and he was still helping me get my warranty screen protector replacement and finding a new cell phone cover for my wife. He worked with me until 720 and the store closed at seven. Thanks Gavin! read more

Don't ever buy an LG refrigerator here or anywhere! Do not purchase the extended warranty through WarrenTech! Nothing but trouble. Broken refrigerator 3 times in 4 years regarding the cooling system. See the not one but 2 class action law suits against LG. WarrenTech is absolutely, positively, 100% useless. Horrible customer service. Recently purchased a new refrigerator. Was to be delivered to our business. After waiting two days the silvery driver shows up at our home address. We informed him that he's at the wrong address and advised him it's two block away where it is supposed to be delivered. Driver refuses to take it to the other address and takes the refrigerator with him. Spoke to customer service multiple times. Most of the time you talk with someone and then are conveniently hung up on after being on hold a few minutes. Finally spoke to someone who told me that the delivery address was entered as the home address and the instillation address was an another. I asked her how that would make any sense. Why have it delivered and then have to haul it to another address to install it. Put on hold again and disconnected...... spoke to manager on site at Modesto location (had to drive there because they don't answer the phones) and he was no help at all basically refused to do anything to help with the situation. And even refused to cancel the order because it's still in transit back to the warehouse. 10th time calling customer service filed a formal complaint. And while on phone he completely canceled our order. Been buying from Best Buy for over 20 years. Will never buy again. All due to poor customer service that could have been avoided. I hope others listen and take their business elsewhere. read more

Don't even know where to start ...what a nightmare! I bought four pieces of Appliaces spending over $4k beginning of November 2019 after more numerous times, them delivering, them sending broken Appliaces etc etc... argument after argument them delivering at wrong address a few times, the delivery guy threatening me and arguing me finally got it right end of January while these delivery the put a few cracks on my counter, made a dent on my corner hallway and the trim of my entryway bc they had to take the door off and they said oh ya will cover you file a claim I filed a claim and the denied it bc I had signed the papers ...the guys make you fill the form off prior to them even bringing the stuff in ...so they set you up so be on the look out! read more

So we went back to buy it, had to wait 8 weeks for delivery and when it came, needless to say it did not fit not even close. The delivery guy brought it in and said its not going to fit, hooked it up and left. I called customer service and was told I needed to wait 24 hours to before I can even make an appt to get it picked up. Now I have a wedged fridge sitting in my kitchen and I can't do anything about it. DON'T TRUST APPLIANCE DEPARTMENT, employees have no clue how to measure. read more

Beware when buying appliances from Best Buy. I bought a LG refrigerator two years ago and already breaking down. Won't cool the fridge. Fortunately I bought an extended warranty and it's been just over 4 weeks and still waiting for 'precision' to send someone out to fix it. Precision is who Best Buy contracts with for repairs- next time I will go BACK to Sears to buy my appliances. Their service techs are excellent and have always come out in a timely manner to service my appliances. It was a BIG mistake and one I won't be repeating !!!! Update- it's October 2017 now- I'm still WAITING for my fridge to be repaired!!! The warranty company and the the company who does their work -Precision- can't seem to get it straight. I am constantly calling one who tells me to call the other. Tired of playing 'piggy in the middle'. Precision has been out 5 times- and the issue still isn't resolved!!!
