I've worked with a specific person in the large appliance department and tried to cancel a gas stove top from being delivered and wanting to replace it with a Jennair. I was transferred three times and all I wanted to do was to talk to my salesperson that I've done business through. They said they could not transfer me to the appliance department but could order the Jennair for me. Doesn't make sense to me. I wanted to make sure that Michael gets credit as I know they are on Commission. Over 30 minutes on the phone and I guess I have to drive 30 minutes to see if he's working today. Even the one star is too much for it. The managers there are incompetent and they don't care about something called customer service. I bought a Sony 75" tv there. With a sound bar that cost me $3999. They told me that the tv will come after 2 days but it came after 5 days. As a trusting person to a company that has a big name. they got me the tv and I didn't open it. So I started mounting the tv very simple as the guide said and turned it on I found that the screen is broken though I didn't do anything to the screen. So I went to the store after just a week from receiving it and there policy says they return after 14 day. The "so called manager" came to me and said that I broke the tv from touching the screen with my thumb and she can't exchange this tv the best she can do is to give me a discount if I bought another one. So I asked her how much is the discount she told me a $100 less than what I paid. I stayed at the store fore over 2:30hours fighting for my right and she started sending me a manager after another saying the same exact word and stating that if I let them install my tv with $149.99 extra they would have exchanged it for me. So I went to the tvs that are hanged and I touched it with my thumb as hard as I can and and employee was there hit it as hard as he can until the picture completely gone ( which I didn't do) and nothing happened. The team there and the managers there are unbearable. Finally one of my friends told me to call another Best Buy and I did. They exchanged it from just a phone call. Well stocked, staffed and organized store which had everything I've needed in this retail category, and they are totally polite and cool when you circle around the floor - trying to remember the thing that you needed which they have, and laugh when they see you dart off in the direction of the remembered thing like it was a treasure hunt - meanwhile they watch you and actions for any sign of serious weirdness - which I can appreciate - since psychos could wreak havoc in a place like this. It feels like I am shopping at an amusment park, and I walk away feeling very glad I came. One of the best retail stores in the US and this particular store handles its market - PERFECTLY!!! Contacted BB geek squad for printer repair. Tried online to set up an appointment and clicked the chat box, thinking that they could help me. No help, just trying to convince me to buy the tech support subscription for a year to get the help I need. Ok, so i left the chat box. Turns out you have to pay $79.99 first so they could schedule you, so I did. The appointment day came and 3 people arrived to look at my printer. Already discussed the problem, not printing colored and tray 1 paper says empty but it's not. Took them 10 mins to tell me I need to buy a new printer. I thought they're gonna clean the printer head, or maybe check the ink if it's clogged or something. Nada. I guess I should've spent my $80 to buy a printer. Lesson learned. read more

Someone help me in seconds directed me to the right place and got a specialists in routers. Angel was Very Knowledgeable in all modem and WiFi routers. I ask all kinds of questions and he had answers made my shopping experience easy. I ended up buying a modem and WiFi router. Rude employee experience here. I purchased a microwave and wanted to use my paypal balance. As soon as I mentioned this the folks in the appliance section would no longer help. Even though they knew where the item was and could have easily helped the process along I was instead sent to customer service. I understand there's a process... in a store that was dead slow the staff seems to punish you if you order in this way. When I asked to leave feedback they told me I was not able to because I canceled my order. By the way... while they had me waiting in line I just purchased the same item for 45% less on Amazon. This company is putting themselves out of business in my opinion. I believe the brick and mortar stores will have to provide better customer service to compete with amazon... not make folks regret even waisting the time to drive across town! read more

Purchased a Whirlpool cabrio washer from this location. The machine started making a horrible grinding noise and was replaced. New machine has been in my home a week and it is doing the same exact thing. Best Buy has a third-party company housed inside their store so when you buy you're purchasing from this other company. Cut to the new machine being faulty. I was told to contact Whirlpool for service on this brand new machine. They do not honor their warranty and if you buy Best Buy's warranty, also called their "extended warranty", it's only good for 2 years, not 3 years. They're are so many mixed comments on here let's see if we can't figure some of them out. You've got one high roller here complaining his (probably 250$) laptop is not working right. I can agree 15 days is short but that's why everyone offers warranties these days, stuff breaks. Bestbuy doesn't make laptops (yes it's a big store but contrary to popular belief there isn't a sweat shop in the back tooling away on electronics) complain to the manufacture if it's failing they made it right? As for the person complaining people offered to help you and even blocked your way tell them to go away, truth is if you act as nasty as your are complacent no one will want to help you, problem solved. Honestly this store bends over backwards most times to make a situation right and be fair, can't say that about all stores out there anymore. Don't believe they rate any more than 3 stars because of the noise factor. Sometimes it can get pretty loud in there. 5 stars for the puter dept. Have bought 3 pc's there since they have opened and have no complaints. The service has always been top rate. I don't feel like I have ever been overcharged. The geeks have always been honest. Want help to buy a television? Ask for Tony in the T.V. department. We had already been to another store and the person there didn't know ANYTHING about televisions. Since it's been many years since we bought a set, and the technology has changed so much, we needed someone who really knew there stuff. Enter Tony from the T.V. department. These guys don't work on commission, so they have no need to push you into anything. But he was able to explain all the new technology to us without making us feel like dinosaurs. We ran over to Costco to check their T.V area and found they don't carry Sony, which was what we wanted. When we went back, Tony was at lunch, but two other guys helped us and were equally helpful. We got a 65" Sony that was just what we wanted. Definitely recommend their department. If you ever buy something from here make sure you open it the second you get to your car. My friend bought a Logitech mouse and when he opened it at his car it was stolen and replaced with a old mouse. Bought a $650 refurbished iPhone from them. It turns out the phone was tied to a previous user's account and now the account popped up after I was trying to do a restore on the phone. Because this pretty much renders the phone unusable I brought it back as the phone has a 90 day warranty. Of course they won't honor it. Basically telling me I have to eat the $650 even though I did not cause or create the problem. A couple of things to note. First don't say you "understand" my frustration when you clearly don't. If you understood my frustration you'd take care of the issue. Second don't act like you're providing some great customer service just because you smile when you say "no, we can't honor the warranty." And last, don't act like people don't know the games played in retail. Don't expect me to believe that the store manager's schedule is super secret or that the only way to hopefully get to a manager is to go through the maze of a phone system you have. I've worked in retail and I realize you're pressured to not give their direct contact information but at least be honest about it. I really wish they'd do the right thing and either replace this brick or give me my money back. It's not my fault some process wasn't followed properly at Best Buy with their refurbished phones and now I'm left holding the bag. read more

After my previous experience with another store that rhymes with Shmirket Shmity, I went to Best Buy and Purchased the Tom Tom 720. It wasn't on sale so the sales person priced matched it for me and I left happy... Except the next day I wasn't smart enough to figure out how to pair the Bluetooth feature on the Tom Tom with my phone (I'm challenged when it comes to reading directions), I went in and Jeff W. was so helpful. He showed me how to do it (plus the step I had been missing) and then explained why I couldn't download my phone book, because Verizon blocks it somehow. After I apologized for bothering him - again, he just said, "no problem, if you have any more questions please come back and see me." I ended up also getting a case for it and also an in-house charger (more money the other store didn't get because of their poor service). When I was leaving another customer was purchasing a TV and the sales man came over to him, offered to help him out to his car (which the customer declined), and told the customer, "Thank you Mr...., I know it's a lot of info to take in so if you have anymore questions just call me, my name is on the top of your receipt or come by and see me. Enjoy your TV." I have always been happy with the store, but when making larger purchases I will definitely go there again. Not only is there staff easy to find, knowledgeable, but they make the buying experience very nice. read more

I bought a Canon 5D Mark iii and it ended up being a defective camera. This is my second time at Geek Squad trying to get the focus issue fixed. I'm SO frustrated! I have to shoot a wedding in Mexico next week and they can't guarantee I'll have my camera by then. I have to reschedule clients and I'm losing time and money! You'd think because you bought warranty they'd try to help you but that's not the case. Someone ran into the back of my car while it was parked out front and pushed it 30 feet into a tree. When I got into the car to start removing my personal items, I noticed that my car stereo that was installed by Best Buy had FLOWN out! If I had been in the car it would have hit me square in the face!! Those things should be securely attached, and even if I never got hit, that just goes to show, someone could have easily stolen my stereo without much effort. There are 3 Best Buys in my area, and I tend to shop at this one the most...mainly because this store has the largest selection. I've made about 4 large purchases here - washer, dryer, refrigerator, and T.V. The TV purchase went well and I have no complaints. As far as the other purchase, they have been less than perfect. The dryer has been a nightmare. I opted to have it delivered and installed...first mistake. The guys came out to install it in a timely fashion as expected. That's about all they did right. They told me that the dryer was "all ready to go". Standing in front of the guy, I pressed the on button...nothing happened. He looked startled at my action - then said "oh yeah, something isn't right with your electrical. You'll want to have someone look at it." He assured me that everything was hooked up to spec. and I would need to call an electrician...I already knew something was wrong, but I played along. I called an electrician and in about 10 minutes he told me that the power was fine, but my dryer was hooked up incorrectly. The next day I called BB and explained the issue and they agreed to send someone out to hook it up correctly. They also agreed to send me gift cards to cover the electrician charges - better than nothing I figured. They guys came out a few days later and said that the unit was hooked up incorrectly and was now no longer functional. They said they would have to order a new one. A new dryer was out by the end of the week and was hooked up correctly this time. After all this mess, I never even got my damn gift cards. I had called back a few weeks later and I was told that they would be on there way. A year later and I still haven't received them...maybe I should call back. I feel like I've written far too much, and I haven't even talked about my experience with the washer and the fridge! To make a long story a little shorter - I have no problem purchasing small electronics from BB - however, I will never be caught again using a BB service or making an appliance purchase. read more

Poor customer service at the geek squad desk. the associate diagnosed my computer with a bad hard drive. Recommend paying over $200 to fix a computer that is less than 3 months old. Confirmed the unit appears to have no cus related damage just normal use. It is hard to believe that your company is trying to profit off customers to repair equipment and charge when it is clearly warranty work. I will be dealing with manufacture directly at no charge. Let me start by saying that I have been a loyal customer of Best Buy for at Least a decade, that being said, I have never been dismissed and treated so poorly as I was yesterday. It's starts with me buying a tv in Dublin and they have no cables in stock and It was suggested to check Tracy, Modesto or Stockton. So at the Modesto location the associate first tries to sell me the one they use as a demo the he said and I quote " we've been using this one forever" as brand new, of which I decline and ask him to check the Stockton store and I am told they have one. I ask the associate to call them and have them hold it and he replies I'll have you buy it from them and it will be waiting when u get there...Ok so 1 hour later, after bumper to bumper traffic in a manual transmission I arrive and go to purchase pick up to be told they can't find the order I ask to speak to a manager. When the manager arrives he informs me that they sent me an email ( who drives and checks emails?) he then offers me a cable beneath the one I wanted, and one a step above and tells me he'll split the difference and I explain all that I have been thru for these cables after spending $2000 the day before and burning a tank of gas driving to 4 cities to keep a loyal customer he should switch just them out...needless to say I had to ask speak to a manager above him and was given the explanation among other things that the associate in Modesto was either improperly trained or mishandled the situation( ummm who's responsibility is it to train associates? Mine or Best Buy's? I think my next purchase will be from Video Only I am really tired of businesses repeating to me "I'm sorry for that or I understand " but I'm still not going to do anything to keep your business! read more

My mother drove all the way from the Bay to pick up a fridge she bought at a very good deal. They only had contactless curbside pickup but it was run super smoothly and simply. You pull up and instantly a rep asks for your info to help get your order out. Unfortunately the van she was using to transport the fridge had some issues with collapsing the passenger seats to allow the fridge to fit. The Best Buy associate Tommy was super friendly, patient and helpful with her while she sorted this issue out. He spoke with me on the phone and helped us look for delivery options but given the sale was from the outlet page only pick up was offered. He was seen trying to look up YouTube videos to see if he could help with the seats but still was very mindful about social distancing and other precautions. In the end she finally got the seats down and was able to make it safely back to the Bay. Tommy made this long trip and pickup in 90°+ heat much easier and less stressful for her! read more

Raj S. My wife bought a 55 inch LG TV on a black friday sale from Best Buy in Modesto. I picked the TV up the next day, brought it home and me and my son took it out of the box. The TV screen on the top was damaged, so the next day we went to return it at the store. The best buy supervisor refused to take the TV back, blamed us for damaging the product. We explained to her that we did not damage the TV, that we just opened the box and saw the dent on the screen, so we closed the box and try to get a replacement. She said that best buy is not responsible to take back damage tv's, even if it got damaged in their warehouse. We just lost our hard earned dollars.
