Very disappointed. I purchased a new JVC stereo, which included free installation. The installation almost didn't happen today as the technician was late to work. The installation took 4 hours and wasn't done right! The steering wheel controls were not programmed properly and then the parking control wire was not hooked up. I was also told my USB port could not be installed because my entire center console needed removed. I had to spend another 30 minutes when I got home reprogramming the controls and connecting the parking wire so I could use my Android Auto. Then spent 10 minutes installing the USB port. Will not recommend and will seriously reconsider where I purchase future electronics. read more

I dealt with a frustrating INCOMPETENT sales clerk on, what should have been, a very simple return. I had two gifts to return (WITH RECEIPTS) and she told me I couldn't get store credit and that the money would have to go back on my dad's credit card. THIS MAKES NO SENSE - why would they want to turn away money by putting it on a credit card when they can put it on a gift card in the store so we can purchase something in THEIR store? I questioned the gal several times, nicely, and what she said made no sense. She went ahead and put the money back on my dad's card which basically causes a major inconvenience since now my dad has to give me money back so I can buy my daughter what she wants. I asked for the manager on the second return because what she was spouting was nonsense - and he says "oh yeah you can give store credit just do blah blah blah". So, my son gets his item but a major inconvenience for my daughter all because the sales clerk couldn't ask the manager for help. She didn't apologize and just said "it was how I was trained". I ended up having a conversation for about half an hour with the assistant manager Keith about the merits of IOT. You have to understand, I'm almost 80 years old. I had no idea this technology existed. Geek Squad got me all setup with a fully automated household. I can even use my voice to control it all. Purchased a "new" Apple Watch. Got it home and tried to sync it to my iPhone and it wouldn't hold a charge or sync. Called Apple support and after some investigation on their side they discovered it was a used Apple Watch that was synced to someone's Apple ID. It was also the smaller of the two watches in the bigger watches box. I took it back the next morning with the original receipt and the sales associate (who was also the same associate that sold it to me) was very nice and apologetic. The "store manager" however was not. She told me there was "zero chance there was a used watch in the box" and heavily implied I was trying to scam them. I provided all the notes and case number from Apple to support my claim and she basically called me a liar and said the "ethical thing to do would be reverse your return and give you the watch back and let you be on your way." At that time I asked to see the store manager and she told me she was the store manager. I asked for her bosses name and she said that she was the highest up I could go. At this point I just left. On my way out the door I asked the associate by the door who the store manager was and he gave me someone else's name. Completely blew me away. Best Buy and LG are refusing an exchange. The repairman said it's 3-4 weeks for a repair so I have no tv for a month. I have spent countless thousands of dollars over the years at Best Buy and to be denied an exchange because my receipt is a few days past the exchange timeframe is unbelievable. I just discovered the Biggest Secret in Best Buy, and why you should order your Comcast internet from these fine folks instead of ordering it from Comcast directly. I'm not exactly sure how they do it, but if you are a new customer and try to order service from Comcast directly, they will charge you $100 for installation and no amount of calling, holding, transferring and pleading will reduce this amount. If you order the same, identical service from Best Buy, the installation charge is only 49.95 - not bad! In addition, if you are motivated enough to send in a copy of your first month's bill with the required forms supplied from Best Buy, you will get a $75 gift card in the mail 6-8 weeks later. Total potential savings: $50 in cold, hard cash and $75 in Best Buy merchandise. All for the small inconvenience of driving to Best Buy instead of making a phone call. I'll update when the service is actually in and installed, but it's looking good. The usual pain-in-the-butt calling and holding with Comcast had to be endured anyway, so the idea that I was getting a (small) deal by doing it this way made it a bit more tolerable. Oh, and the Best Buy salesman was knowledgeable and friendly, and helpful and explained all of our options. Bottom line: order your Comcast from Best Buy and save $50 plus get a $75 gift card by sending in the rebate form. Big bucks. No whammies! EDIT: The $75 came in the mail, but not in the form of a gift card. It came in the form of a cold, hard, um, check, which was subsequently deposited in the bank for COLD HARD CASH. My advice is to drive up to Tacoma or buy whatever you need online until this place has better customer service. And by "better" I mean ANY. I rushed in during my lunch break knowing exactly what I needed, just not knowing where in the store it was located. You'd expect this would be pretty easy. No. The guy up front at the door didn't acknowledge me. I went into the mobile phones area and there were plenty of people working and not that many customers, but I noticed the customers being helped were the ones who looked a certain way, that is, the more attractive clientele. This isn't to say, I'm a beast, but I was in, like, soccer mom mode that morning and I had bum clothes on, hair whatever, and no make up. I waited and waited while women who looked cuter (or dressed in a lot less clothing) than me were all helped, while I continued to wait. The sales folks even made eye contact with me, looked me up and down, and then proceeded to help someone else. Yeah. Awesome. I mentioned I was on my lunch break right? In a hurry, just need to go. I ended up looking up their phone number in my phone and calling them, getting transferred to the department I'm freaking standing in, forcing one of the neanderthal sales guys to answer the phone. I asked (in a really cute and perky voice) where the product I needed was, and he said for me to come over to the mobile phones department and he'd be happy to help me out. Based on my voice, of course you would! So I went and stood right in front of him while still on the phone, waited for him to look shocked, and then then hung up when he pointed out where the item was (a totally illogical spot, btw.. because I didn't expect some iphone accessories to be located behind android stuff). Lesson learned. Go to a better store, buy online, or dress super slutty (nothing against "slut"wear) when you come in, or expect to be totally ignored. read more

So much for having their shit together... The same product that I had had ordered a couple of months earlier and driven down to Olympia to pick up turned out not to work. It was a computer software product, and since I didn't even attempt to install it immediately after purchase I was unaware that I had a faulty product until after the 30-day return period had expired. When I went to the customer service desk at this Best Buy store to exchange my faulty product for another copy of the same item, the employee might as well have said "fuck off" for all the help she was. After poking at her computer monitor for a minute she determined that none of the check boxes available applied to my situation so that was the end of it as far as she was concerned. Oh yeah, AND I had to wait HALF AN HOUR to be "helped" at "customer service" due to a problem in the store's computer system that required a complete reboot-- this is during business hours at a store where people are supposed to go to get their personal computer systems FIXED!! I will note that I resolved this situation myself by ordering the product from Best Buy online then returning the faulty one with the newer receipt (at another store-- don't think I'll EVER bother with the Olympia location again!). We met Travis, who was just awesome. Not pushy at all. We asked about several types of refrigerator which at this point were blending together. Travis helped us when we asked questions about one particular frig and though we thought we were going to go to one more place....we ended up with one that was a bit more than we wanted to spend... our choice not pushed into it. Hey how often to you buy a frig. So decided to get one with not all the bells and whistles just one with more whistles....lol. Travis wrapped up the sale and was just really easy to work with. When I ordered my Rexing V1P Pro dash cam online, there was no indication that I could choose to have it hardwired. It needed to be hardwired to make all the features work. I knew a hard wire kit was necessary and that it costs extra. So I called the 800 number. That is a national call center and they couldn't do dink for me. So, 2 days later, I went into the store at Capital Mall in Olympia, Wa. It took about 25 minutes while the guy tried to find my order, checked with a supervisor a couple of times, and then finally came up with the DashCam. He set it on the counter. He thumped the box a couple times with one hand while he searched the computer to find out how to release the camera to me. I told him it had to be hardwired. He said, "no problem, just tell them that at the shop when you show up for the appointment." So, this morning I showed up for my appointment. I told them it had to be hardwired. The tech looked it up on his computer and said they didn't have the hard wire install kit in that store. So I got a refund. End of subject. They lost my busine$$. Best Buy? This location is usually the best in the Lacey/Olympia area as far as selection goes. I have been known to spend a lot of my electronics "budget" at this location, even though the Lacey location is closer. The prices at Best Buy are competitive considering it is possible to get the item "now" rather than waiting for shipping from a less-expensive online alternative. The location is great because it is right in the mall. I can stop in here and shop for "man stuff" while my wife shops in the mall for "wife stuff" or "daughter stuff" :) read more

I don't think there's much more you can expect from an electronic giant. This Best Buy is attached to the mall, and you can enter the mall through it. The parking for this Best Buy is particularly horrible, however, I think you can blame the mall partially for that. The service of course is on par as with any Best Buy. I came here to buy a new 4K tv. I hadn't bought at tv in about 5 years, and the floor salesman was very helpful in educating me on the new stuff that has come out. He sold me a tv from the shelf and I took it home excited to use it. I got home and was scratching my head looking for a non-existent HDMI port. It didn't come with a manual so I found out via google that this model has en external port hub called "one connect," which didn't come with my tv, but is necessary for it to function. I called the store the next morning to let them know I was missing a piece. The guy on the phone told me there was nothing they could do since they don't carry rouge parts, but he told me to just bring it in and I could exchange it for another one that has all the pieces. So I drove this giant tv over there and the crew unloaded it, only to be told they did not have anymore of that model in the store. So I started browsing for similar models. I was then approached by an employee who said they found a One Connect in the back that goes with my tv. So they loaded that giant thing back in my car and I drove home. Only to find out it's a One Connect Mini, and not compatible with my model. I immediately called the store and they told me I was out of luck, and to bring it back and exchange it. 30 minutes on the phone later, I finally talked someone into ordering the part for me at no cost. I cannot condense my conversation into one review. I never thought I would have to try so hard to get what I paid for. And as for Best Buy, a little shred of customer service goes a long way. Out of 4 different people I talked to about this issue, not one person apologized or even acknowledged the inconvenience. They default to "bring it back and exchange it." It's only when I threatened to take my business elsewhere that I actually got what I needed. read more
