I had help from service personnel every time I went to this store. The help was very nice.

I purchased a 98" TCL QM7K Open-Box Excellent TV that was listed as available. After spending nearly two hours on the phone and speaking with eight different representatives, I was ultimately told the TV was never actually in inventory. Because it was an open-box item, Best Buy declined to honor the purchase price on a new unit or offer a comparable replacement. The employees I spoke with were consistently kind, professional, and genuinely wanted to help. My frustration is not with them. They seemed limited by the systems and policies they had to work within. The process itself was incredibly frustrating. I received conflicting information from multiple representatives, was told my surround sound system and wall mount couldn't be canceled, yet I was able to submit a cancellation request myself through the app. I was also directed to replacement inventory that turned out to be located in Iowa and Minnesota rather than anywhere near me. Inventory mistakes happen. What left a bad impression was the lack of a practical solution after the purchase had already been completed. From a customer perspective, it felt like I was being pushed away from the deal I had legitimately purchased and toward paying significantly more for the same TV. I was prepared to spend several thousand dollars at Best Buy, but after this experience I chose to take my business elsewhere. The employees deserved better tools to help customers, and customers deserve a smoother process when something goes wrong. read more

I had an appointment with Geek Squad for a iPhone battery replacement. The "Geek" I was working with was super kind, relaxed and super helpful. Highly recommend making an appointment or else you probably won't get seen unless it's not busy at all, which I doubt rarely happens. This repair took a few hours and was pretty inexpensive. My battery life last my all day again now! I also like the location cause I went to the matinee while I waited. read more

If you like wasting a trip to a store then you'll love "Best Buy". They should change the name of the store to Can't Buy. They stock a crapload of televisions, bicycles and tons of other things NOT ELECTRONICS RELATED. I showed up with $800 in cash to spend on a new stereo receiver and they had almost zero stereos or speakers in stock. The nearest store that stocked it was THREE STORES AND 50 MILES AWAY. But they have a RIDICULOUS amount of televisions. I'm never setting foot in that store again. I'm buying my merchandise ONLINE from now on! I bought a panasonic Blue Ray player about a year ago from the West Olympia Best Buy and didn't take it out of the box until last night. IT does not work. I tried returning it and they said I waited too long and wouldn't refund anything or give me anykind of credit. They confirmed it did not work. They said that's why they encourage people to to take it out of the box sooner. As if I was somehow to blame. They said all of their competitors have the same policy so I would have been out of luck even if I bought it somewhere else. Not at all like Nordstroms return policy which makes people love them and want to keep shopping there. I'm so mad. It's a complete loss for me. I paid the price for being their customer. I purchased a box set of the full series of Gilmore Girls from Bestbuy.com. the charge on my credit card was from Best Buy the shipping confirmation was from Best Buy and the packaging it came in was labeled Best Buy. however, it didn't appear to be a professional recording, but more bootleg quality and 2 discs were defective. When I contacted Best Buy for them to rectify the issue, they informed me that my purchase was third-party seller, and there was nothing they could do about it. They refused an exchange. They refused to return and they refused to refund my money. I told them I would report it to my bank as fraud, they condescendingly laughed at me and told me to do so so I did. My Bank told me it would take 30 days. It took two days before I received a letter where they had granted my full refund stating that Best Buy was at fault. This was the 2nd issue of similar circumstances in a three or four it was literally Best Buy's last chance with me I would give them zero stars if that was an option. The defective discs was one of season five the official opening of the dragonfly and the Luke and union and Rory reunion. The other desk was season seven when Lorelei and Christopher were getting a divorce. I missed it all and it's Best Buy's fault. read more

Had an appointment for an iPhone battery swap. It took an hour on the phone to arrange the appt after attempts in the app failed. They wouldn't answer basic questions on the phone, said they "needed to analyze my phone" in person first. So I schlepped over in the rain. Whereupon the very nice geek squad rep informed me that they don't have the battery parts in stock, and proceeded to try to sell me on switching to android because it's easier for them to service. Also told me complaining to mgmt would have no effect, and blamed Apple for the lack of parts. Extremely disappointed that they refused to say there might be an inventory issue as a method of driving foot traffic to attempt a bait and switch/sale. Ensured I will never be a Best Buy customer. I have come by this Best Buy to purchase a TV I saw available on the website. There was no associate by the TVs and I looked for an associate who could help. I asked 2 different associates for assistance but they said they couldn't leave their post, which is understandable, but after waiting over 30 minutes and seeing other people being helped and associates standing around, me and my husband decided to just leave and go else where. This isn't the first time this has happened at this location for other items I've just given up and resorted to using Amazon instead. Don't know how Best Buy's work but it works better to purchase online than in store. read more

The battery in my iPad died so even though they try the absolute hardest to not allow customers to phone them (part of their BS "customer service") I did manage to get through gave them the serial number of my iPad and made an appointment to have the battery replaced. While I live an hour and a half away, I kept hoping on the drive in that I'd an appointment for an actual battery replacement as discussed and not just an appointment to drop it off and have to come back in a week or so to pick it up; that would be TWO 3-hour round-trip adventures. At my appointment time I was told by a young 20-something clerk "oh, we don't replace iPad batteries, most people just buy a new iPad". I'm 77 years old and on a rather limited fixed income and really didn't want to have to go that route. But that is actually the way I had to go and today went to the /Apple Store and bought a new iPad. I have but two words for Best Buy; rest assured they're not "let's Dance". read more

I remember when you had to beat the sales people off with a stick at one of these stores, they must not pay commission anymore because the hardest part of this visit was getting one to help. Once I got hooked up with Brian, he took the time with me to find a tv that had all of the options I was looking for and the correct VESA size for my mount. It took quite a bit of searching but he was able to find me one at a good price as well, not a super expensive one. Appreciated his effort and the time spent. read more

Bought over $350 worth of SD cards for the $400 worth of Security cameras at Best Buy West Olympia. We had trouble with initializing one of the SD cards and after two weeks of problems and not recording I took it back to BB. They refused to replace it and said I should have purchased a membership to get more than 15 days of warranty !!! The Customer service girls were useless and made it plain they couldn't care less what my problem was. I will never go back there or ever buy anything from Best Buy. They suck. read more

I scheduled an appt a week in advance to have my battery replaced in my iPhone 11 Pro Max. The day of my pre scheduled appointment, I arranged a caregiver for my disabled child, that I have to pay for their time. I arrived at Best Buy west olympia fifteen minutes prior to my pre scheduled appointment, waited in line at the geek squad until ten minutes after my appt start time. The employee greeted me and was quite pleasant. She started inputting my phone info into their system -then she stated that she had to go see "if" they had the battery for my phone in stock. I was completely confused at this because i scheduled the appointment a week in advance and it stated on the appointment reservation that the appointment was for an iPhone 11 Pro Max battery replacement. Well, she came back and They didn't have the battery. Lol She explained that Apple won't allow them to order specific parts without keeping my phone in their possession from the time that they order the part until the battery is delivered to them. She said this could be up to 14 Days- that I would be without my phone. I couldn't even pay for the battery in advance. They wasted not only my time, but two hours drive time and fuel, but wasted an additional 100.00 that I had to pay for the caregiving of my child, so that I could go to my Best Buy appointment. For nothing. I still have the same crap battery. And literally no way to get a new one without leaving my phone with them for up to two weeks. Obviously Apple and Best Buy are in some type of collaborative scheme to make it so difficult to have a battery replaced in an iPhone that the customer is forced to have to purchase a new phone. Because their current phone won't stay charged. It is a win all the way around for Apple.. There's pretty much zero reason to have an appointment scheduled with Best Buy - when they knowingly don't have what you need for your appointment. Or any type of reasonable solution for your issue. Major fail for such a large company. And then to top it off- as I'm pulling out of their parking lot, I get a text from Best Buy that says "you missed today's appointment, but it's easy to reschedule online." What the heck is going on here? They literally just input my imei number and my phones information into their system which would obviously show that I'm here. Clueless geek squad staff. I placed an order for a TV wall mount installation. The woman who placed the order had no idea what she was doing. She had the wrong size TV installation. Told me that the installation times are between 7am and 7pm. I SPECIFICALLY told her that work until a certain time and that would be when I would be home. Day of installation I get a text from a geek squad member telling me he is in his way for a 1pm appointment time. I told him I'm not going to be there and that I specifically stated my installation time was after work. This knucklehead says he only works until 4p. He says to contact the Best Buy store and reschedule the installation. After 10 phone calls and live chat I ended up canceling the installation order. Who the hell advertises 7a-7p and have one technician that only works until 4p. The supervisor was just as clueless as his minions. They were like we can't schedule you until April . Then they said "we'll escalate the order and we will let you know day to day. They tried telling me my appointment was on February 4th and even used the same order number. I showed them my receipt and then they still acted like I was wrong. AVOID THE IDIOTS AT OLYMPIA BEST BUY!!! If you call you'll get one different idiot after the next answer. This review is for Geek Squad, specifically the Home Theater department. Grant and his partner (I think his name was Luke?) came out to my parent's newly bought home to install the mounts or their 85 inch TV and a couple of other flat screens in the house. They originally ordered with a sales person in store that told them that a 50$ mount would be okay because it was within the manufacturer's guidelines of weight & size for the 85 inch screen. However, when Geek squad came to install it, the TV was leaning low and the bars holding it from the wall were bending. Instead of just leaving it the way it was, they thoroughly went over other options that would be suitable for the TV. They did not seem annoyed or irritated at the fact that they would have to re-install another one. In fact, they were understanding about the situation and didn't make us feel bad for being unknowledgeable of how mounts work. They did not have the other mount on hand so they went all the way back to the store to retrieve it. Even though it was about a 250 dollar difference, it did not feel as if they were being pushy to upsell merchandise but rather genuinely committed to making sure we were 100% satisfied with the outcome. Prior to drilling any holes, they measured accurately and did a mark up using tape to make sure we were happy with the placement. They did this while accurately ensuring that it would be properly mounted to the wall using their professional knowledge. All of the TV's were mounted so perfectly and they were also nice enough to show us how to set up the smart TV as well as the surround sound system. Additionally, they showed us how to install extension cords to hide the wires and get the sleekest look. We are 100000% satisfied with the final outcome and are completely confident that it won't budge, but even more so happy with the outstanding customer service from Grant and his partner. My parents also had a difficult time submitting the payment through the link but they were super patient and kind as they worked through the issues. I wanted to write this review because sometimes we try to find the cheapest alternatives to do certain things but in the end, are unsatisfied with the results so we're stuck with crooked TV hangings or scared it might fall. This is your sign to not be cheap and book geek squad to make sure your nice TV's are mounted correctly and securely!!! And to trust their professional opinion! After encountering so many bad experiences in the past, we are grateful that these 2 were sent out to us to help us. Sometimes peace of mind is worth the $$$ ! Grant and Luke from the Olympia Capital Mall Geek Squad just wall mounted an LG Gallery TV for us today. I'm a perfectionist so I appreciated their attention to detail. Like a choreographed ballet, they took their time and hit plumb the first time. Setting up the TV in about five minutes, they expertly optimized the settings for best viewing, privacy, and power. I'm not a luddite but truly appreciate their experience setting up home theaters. Other things to know: - Grant called two days out to make sure everything was set. He called same day to give me an update. - They are right on time so you don't need to add extra hours to your schedule in order to wait around. - Grant and Luke are very knowledgeable so ask questions if you have them. - They respect your property wearing boot covers and vacuuming while drilling. Bottom Line: If you're going to buy a nice piece of tech and it involves a wall, skip trying to do it yourself and get Grant and Luke to hook you up. read more

I needed new AirPods and bought what seemed like some online for $90. I thought I got a deal. When I got to the store, it turned out it was only the case. They then had "technical issues" and I waited there for 30 minutes. The supervisor then said they are not able to return them until more time passes I had to leave, come back and waste more time to return them. A full set of AirPods at Costco are $100. If you're looking for good customer service you'll be disappointed here. We purchased a very expensive LG sound bar with WiFI surround sound. Once delivered it took some time to get it installed. The surround sound worked for less a week. We called LG customer service for assistance. With no luck. After doing everything possible to get it working we returned to Best Buy for assistance. The salesman said there was nothing he could do. I asked to speak to the manager and he hid in the back as to not have to deal with us. We will never recommend or return to Best Buy. read more

I purchased a 43" tv from Best Buy in Olympia at capital mall today, oct 7, 2024. it was loaded in my car and I drove home. I live about an hour and half away. once home I opened the box it came in and found a broken screen. it had cracks on whole screen. I called them and was told they would not let me return a tv with a broken screen. I called ahead to see if they had the new 24" iMac & heard a recorded message that the store no longer accepts phone calls, but if I wanted, I could be transferred to a national call center with an over 8 minute wait...so, on line it looked like they had at least 4 colors of the iMac in stock, so I made the one hour round trip to the store to take a look only to find no product on display and no one working in the entire department. Finally found a Geek Squad member who determined they had a couple of them still in the box but not available for me to look at...so he suggested maybe I should drive to the Apple Store in Tacoma. Great idea! Why didn't I think of that myself?! The store is a dump, looks like it is going out of business soon and that would be fine with me. read more

This is more of a reflection of the company as a whole and not just this store. We bought a coffee maker online, which takes about a week to deliver. Best buy only has a 15 day return policy unless you are apart of their membershio tiers then you get more time. I have bought products from best buy in the past but due to their return policy I will be taking my business elsewhere. Also don't buy any Mr. Coffee products from best buy. We are waiting on our second replacement in just over a month because of a leaking issue in the unit. The leaking issue didn't start until after 15 days so now we are forced to work with the manufacturer because of best buys return policy. read more

I'm done. It's not just this store. It's the whole company. Our DSL modem died and I needed one by morning. I called and found that the only person I could talk to was the call center. They assured me that the Olympia store had them in stock. I was given the brand name and price. In fact, they urged me to purchase it on line so it would be ready to just grab when we got to the store. (Glad I didn't.) We dropped what we were doing and drove for 45 minutes, only to be told there was nothing of the kind in the store. So two hours of my life, $10 worth of gas, and still no clue how to do my job tomorrow. The store employees seemed utterly unsurprised and unconcerned. My experience with utilizing your on line platform to order items was highly frustrating.  I did not find the platform to be intuitive. It's clunky and contains defects that promote customer frustration.  Not the level of quality one expects from the Geek squad. I am computer savvy and have been a Program Manager for 25 years.  I observe systemic behavior and develop system change requests and tickets to operations every day.  This system brought me to tears. Here are the specifics of this encounter.  I selected the item I wanted to purchase and added it to my cart.  I then selected payment through PayPal and paid for the item.  I reviewed the purchase documentation and realized that rather than pulling address delivery information from PayPal when the payment information was pulled across the interface, the system accessed an old address I haven't lived at for a couple of years. I did not sign in so I am assuming your software applied the old address from a previous purchase?  The system did not request verification of shipping and billing addresses, I'm guessing because I went through PayPal.  I attempted multiple times and multiple ways to edit and add the correct address.  I finally had to cancel the order, create an account, and start over for the system to accept the accurate data. This process took a great deal of time.  I could have driven to the store and back in the time it took.  I was so frustrated and in tears when the tasks were completed.  This experience has made it unlikely that I will utilize online ordering from your company in the future and eroded my faith in your technical expertise.  Additional information: When I added my information to your feedback page, the page would not allow me to exit without adding my phone number again. The number was input correctly the first time, but apparently there was a space after. Not a huge deal but these types of issues build annoyance and lack of confidence in your technical expertise. It is so frustrating when the delivery window is 4 hours and still they are soooo late. Delivery schedule is between 9 AM to 1 PM. We took all the contents of our old refrigerator and freezer as early as 9 AM and the delivery people called at 12 noon. As in too late to tell us that they are running late and will be here between 2 to 3 PM, estimate. As in estimate!! We made plans for the day after the Supposed delivery schedule. So our plan was ruined, the contents of our freezer and ref were all defrosted. This is not acceptable. So disappointed with Best Buy. Just an update. It's already 4:30 PM and the delivery of my refrigerator hasn't arrived yet. Wasted my whole day waiting. read more
