I do not shop at Best Buy very much but I recently purchased a larger microwave there because it was the exact size I was looking for. However after 6 months I have experienced some issues with this microwave and hauled this heavy unit back to the store expecting it to be returned it replace! After what seemed like an hour in line I was told that I had to contact Samsung service directly for any support that was needed on the Microwave. I then had to haul thus microwave back to my car and contact the number they gave me! Just let me say this! I would highly recommend before making a major purchase at Best Buy check out the return policies carefully! I went against my normal practice of only buying at Costco because I was looking for a particular size and am now stuck with a microwave that doesn't work well! So before buying anything from Best Buy make sure you either purchase the Best Buy in store warranty or make your purchase it at Costco. read more

Pretty standard Best Buy ... these chain locations are pretty satisfied, I'd reckon, with 3 star reviews. It means nothing went terribly wrong. I spent most of my time at this location with Customer Service, since I had received a duplicate holiday gift. I didn't have a receipt for either, but one clearly had a Best Buy sticker on it, so I figured even if I could just get a few bucks of store credit, I'd be happy. They worked hard to leave me happy in the transaction. At first, they said they didn't carry that item any more, so they couldn't take the return. I pushed a tiny bit, saying, "Hey, I just got this item less than 30 days ago ... surely there is some sort of return policy." That didn't help much, but my Customer Service rep found a manager who gave authorization to just credit me in Best Buy bucks, and I was let loose to go find similarly priced item(s). I brought those back and got stuff I didn't have. All you can really ask for in this spot, given my lack of receipt, etc. The store, as a whole, was clean, though oddly warm given the cool outside temperatures. The bargain bins are where I spent most of my time, and I found some old James Bond movies on DVD for the collection. I wouldn't seek out this location, as with most large warehouse-style stores, but I would certainly go back if I was nearby and needed something. read more

Walking into Best Buy, you KNOW your gonna be ripped off somehow like in accessories!!! i spent $1200 on a tv (which was the best deal i could find on that particular tv believe it or not) and a wii. They tried selling me this and that, I foolishly bought a bunch of HDMI cables from them only to find the EXACT same ones online for a fraction of the price! This particular Best Buy, i got my tv, got to the register with the salesman, and he signed me up for this rewards program where you get money back according to your purchases..so i thought swweeett im getting something back!...NO!!!!!....they dont count your first purchase, AND it takes 6 months to fully activate!!!!!!!!! WOW!!!!! My second experience was replacing a flash drive, i wanted the old files from my previous flash transferred to the new one via there geek squad thing...they wanted to charge me $100!!!!....just for 3 files!!!!!...so i walked next door to Office Depot and they did it for me for just $3.00! read more

Let me premise this review by saying I absolutely love Best Buy. However, whenever I call or go to this particular store on Tyler, the customer service is apathetic and slow. The geek squad and customer service lines are always long and move at a snails pace. I hate this! They are always understaffed and there is never a manger in sight. There is only a 50% chance that I will actually speak to an employee whenever I call this store. Even though this is a big location, I highly recommend you go to a different Best Buy. Had a terrible experience here. After spending about 45 minutes deciding on a TV it turned out that they were out of stock. The salesman didn't offer to try and find us one or even sell us the display. After doing a little research on my own I found out the TV was discontinued, understandable, but this was not communicated. I called to see if they would sell me the display and they agreed but: it was missing the remote, stand and 3D glasses. What happened to them? I understand you have a lot of displays and may be difficult to keep track of those things, but as a business I believe they should keep better track of hundreds of dollars of accessories that belong to something you want to sell in the future. Probably a tactic to get you to buy new glasses, a mount and a remote to make up for the loss on the TV. This is directed to the Geek Squad customer service. I went in to have my iPhone battery changed out under apples warranty plan. I waited almost an hour and nothing was done. Then I find out the battery only cost 50 dollars!!!! Are you serious???? Spend 30 min on the computer wasting everyone's time. I would have paid the 50 for a new battery since my phone won't last half way through the day. Ridiculous!!! I've recently dropped 8,000 on a complete kitchen appliance set and another 5,000 on a matching washer and dryer. Ordered a MacBook online for store pickup and was suppose to be ready in an hour. I sent my mom to go pick up and the store said it wasn't ready, 3 hours after I placed my order. The manager then gave my phone an 800 # to call to see why. Called the 800 # and was on hold for 30 mins. Beyond ridiculous, thanks for the reminder of why I shop on Amazon! No customer service, at all. Hubby and I were in the store for over 10 minutes and not one single employee offered to assist us. In fact, each time we saw an employee, they'd lower their eyes and turn the other way. It's as if they're playing cat and mouse with the public. When we were walking out the front door, I made sure to say goodbye to the manager who was giving all of his attention to his own cell phone. His head was down when we walked in the store. I have spent thousands at Best Buy over the years, however after the terrible experience I had here today I will never again as I am cancelling my credit card with them Monday. I was in store to make another purchase my boyfriend said excuse me to a worker who was typing on a computer. The worker completely ignored my boyfriend, so I said excuse me thinking maybe he didn't hear. He rudely snapped saying one minute. When I reported him to the manager she did not ask what section he worked in, his name, nothing. She was not concerned what so ever. Such poor management, hence the terrible customer service. I will now be shopping at Amazon, after all we went to Best Buy for the information we received on products if you can't get information from the workers and you have to stand and wait around for help when they are not even busy than they are over all useless. read more

Update on Best Buy regarding their 18 month credit plan. Be forewarned the advertised minimum payment that they quote you at the retail store could be much lower than the actual monthly minimum. I just spent about an hour withp the payment department getting cleared up an account short payment. I was told the monthly minimum was over double what I was paying. I now know not to trust the retail stores what they tell you. I guess being less than truthful allows them to make more money by racking up the interest. My rating stays at "1". I'll never buy electronics here at Best Buy again. Over the phone I was told by a Best Buy rep, I could exchange my laptop since it was unopened and because it was shy of only 30 days from the 60 day guarantee on the receipt. The manager and staff were not friendly at all, the employee had her cell phone on her, looking at it during work time while we waited for the manager. Then the manager appeared and did not greet me and when she did it was not friendly. I respectably asked why my laptop was not able to be exchanged for an apple laptop when the Best Buy since I have an iPhone. She said it was deleted from all Best Buy systems and could not exchange something that's no longer sellable but I checked online and the laptop is still available for purchase at another location AND online so this manager lied. read more

Just because you're the only buy left in town doesn't mean you're the best buy. Their prices are no better than elsewhere (in fact, I've almost always found them to be worse) and their selection is unforgivably small for a store of their size. Their employees tend towards the high-school dropout end of the spectrum and at times will overtly avoid eye contact and mumble until you leave, or just walk off themselves. They will, however, match sales on their website - if they have the item in stock. Also, I learned just this Tuesday that they don't put everything in stock on display. I circled the digital cameras four times & didn't see what I wanted, but the guy said it was in stock. I didn't get it, though, because they didn't have the package advertised on their website (I went home & beat the deal on Amazon). However, I've found that if you wear a pocket protector, their employees don't even try to second-guess you or sell you something that you don't want. 8-p read more

I am a long time Best Buy "Preferred Client." I generally like the sales staff but the service team in my option acts unprofessional and, at times, condescending. (One BIG exception is Kimmie - she's been nothing but professional and efficient in my interactions with her). This is based on multiple interactions - returns, differing answers to the same question depending on who talk to, and simple questions being ignored are all par for be course. The latest incident I had was a credit card application done in my name that I never asked for (I already have a Best Buy card). I've been working on this since end of July and hope to get it resolved soon. I've spoken to the manager and he had been no help and plan to speak to the District Manager today. read more

This is, by far, the WORST customer service I have ever experienced in any Best Buy stores. No sales person greeted or asked if I was looking for anything in particular. Take note: there were barely 10 customers in the store and plenty of sales people. They were all busy chitchatting with each other to notice me going up and down the isles helplessly looking for items. I had to go to the cashier to ask for assistance and she didn't know ANYTHING about where things are placed (I was looking for blank discs and USB flash drives) -- cashier asks her "lead person" (another teenager) who in turn, tells me to go down a certain isle and she would be "right there" to help me out. 7 minutes later (yes, I was timing her); she had finished flirting with 2 male teenagers/customers and totally forgot about helping me out. I had to stop the store manager and let her know how inept her team was. 15 minutes of being at a Best Buy and not being helped is an embarrassment and the Riverside team should be retrained. Coming from retail customer service myself, I suggest that the team needs a refresher course in proper customer service. Unless your sales numbers is sky high and you don't need to improve them, there is no reason to ever have such shoddy customer service. Don't waste your time at this branch. There's another Best Buy in the Corona Crossings that have better service (and is better stocked); and if not there, please go to the Corona/Limonite store or the Victoria Gardens store. At least you're greeted there properly when you enter the store. (the sad part; this Tyler store is the closest one to my house) - - meh.... read more

Worst customer service experience ever. I don't think I have ever been handled so poorly in my life. I went in there to pick up my game and all of a sudden " my order was no where to be found ". I asked to speak to a different person because possibly they were it understanding that of what I was saying. I was told that I could not speak to another customer service representative nor the manager. I chose to call corporate, when I did call them, they had me call the store where I was answered by the rudest customer service representative I along with corporate explained what was going on I was passed to their manger that was keep condescending towards corporate and myself. At this point I asked to reach a solution which I was told that I could be refunded the money. Which honestly is not what I wanted or was expecting I just really wanted my game. Went in to return headphones I received for my birthday (already owned a pair) with a gift receipt.The customer service representative took the GIFT RECEIPT and returned my gift to the original credit card that purchased my gift! So I let her know I did not purchase this gift because it was a present. She says "why didnt you tell me it was a gift?" I said I gave you a GIFT RECEIPT why do i need to tell you? She didnt check for ID and did not ask if i wanted it back on the card or as a gift certificate! Needless to say the General manger was also no help telling me "its policy we dont ask for ID" and he said "we only ask if its a gift during Christmas time" oh so its up to me to tell you how your supposed to return a product? Ordered Echo dot 3s had one of them waiting in the store because the others were on backorder so the system canceled my order accidentally when I extended the time of pickup. I contacted customer service and spoke to a manager named Adam who Not only was respectful and efficient at helping the problem. I understand that I cannot get any Echo dots until mid-February however the way management handled the situation is a reason why Im a Best Buy customer. He looked into the situation of what went wrong and he even offered me a small discount if I decided to wait for them to come back into stock. I called the Best Buy in Riverside of Tyler tonight at 8:45 pm, i was calling to talk to the customer service department. I sat on hold for over and hour and no one ever answered the phone. When it first connected to the customer department it told me three callers were ahead of me, i still decided to wait. Seriously an hour later i noticed that the store was closed and i am sure they went home. You have got to be kidding me the manager staff allows everyone to leave knowing someone is still waiting on hold, who called before the store was even closed. I feel whoever was working in customer service and the closing manager should be written up for there lack of customer service to the customer. Great spot for pc and gaming needs. Excellent return policy and the best insurance/warranty I've seen anywhere. Full replacement if they can't fix it and with bigger items they will come to your house at no charge. How much better can it get? We also purchased 2 gaming PCs at one point and they had a warranty that included 3 PCs, up to 9 claims and it doesn't even have to be a PC you buy there so I got an older pc fixed at no extra charge which was pretty cool. read more

Well. I for one have liked this Best Buy. I've been going here for some 5+ years. Ultimately it will not be for everyone. Good times? Yup? Bad times? Very few (like as in 1 time). Newest noteworthy parts is they have changed their store set up. Nothing great and special but those who haven't been here in a while will notice it right away. I picked up a headset for my gaming needs and purchased a 2 year warranty. While I would not recommend getting a warranty for every electronic item, I would recommend it for such things as TVs, headphones, appliances, etc. And as previous reviews have stated, yes, the majority of staff is young and not exactly knowledged. read more

This place was a total disappointment. We spent over $7000 on appliances. Sales guy said they are really hard to scratch. Which is true of you don't touch them at all. We got black stainless and they look beautiful but absolutely scratch VERY easy. Like crazy easy. Our fridge was delivered with a dent so we are waiting for the replacement for that.... then, Best Buy scheduled the people who were picking up the old appliances to arrive BEFORE the installers.... the haul away guys just left even though we had to pay 15 bucks for each piece to be hauled away. ....then the installers left a huge mess and so that was disappointing. Install costs an additional 650 bucks on top of what we paid for the appliances and then when the installers were here they told us we owed another 220 because they had to spend 10 minutes making the hole for the oven and stove top bigger. That's pretty good pay for 10 minutes. I would think it would be expected that the holes would be slightly different..... total rip off. So they grinded the cupboard and tile down and left the kitchen with pebbles and dust all over. Took me over an hour to clean up. The installer mentioned how easily the appliances scratch.... sales guy just told us what we wanted to hear which is rotten and dishonest. I'd go somewhere else if i has the chance again. Our sales guy was Sam, who is a manager. Not sure how that happened, but I guess they don't have very high expectations here. UPDATE: installer came to put the new door on to replace the dented door and they replaced it with a door with 2 dents... (you can't see them unless the light hits just right) It is now 8pm and we just realized our freezer is not working and our food has defrosted. After checking things out, we can see the installer forgot to add the seal to the door. My hubby who has no experience with these things, figured it out and fixed it. Nice to know their "professional" installers are so competent. UPDATE #2: At first I was feeling hopeful because I had someone contact me telling me how appalled they were with all of this, etc.... then they asked who the sales guy was and I told them it was SAM. Well, Sam is the guy who emailed me to say how applauded he was.... so GUESS WHAT?? He never responded after that. So, on top of being dishonest, he also is a coward and has no class. We are STILL waiting for Best Buy to replace 2 panels on our fridge. They were supposed to come today (May16) and we just got a call from the installer that one of the new panels is dented. All I can say is GO ANYWHERE else. This place is horrendous. read more

Let me start off by saying that I have had horrible experiences at other Best Buy stores so I'm not giving 5 stars lightly. I went in to by a new Apple iMac because Best Buy had them on sale. The price online and in store were different, in store being more expensive by $30, when I mentioned it they said they would match the online price. I wanted the wired mouse and keyboard, not the new wireless ones which is what they had in store. When I told them sorry but I'm going to buy it from Apple because they will give me what I want for no extra cost (Best Buy said it would be a extra $120 to get the wired keyboard and mouse) the sales person talked to his manager and gave me the additional wired keyboard and mouse for free. Nothing best about this place. Neglected to tell me I had to go to customer service to arrange set up of my TV. TV was dropped off by a trucking company. Called store and was transferred to another number that just rang and rang for a half hour. Called back same thing happened. Called back next day and was told that they don't do set ups on Sunday and Monday. All they had to do was communicate all the details. I asked do you guys set up and he said yes. Ran out of ink and needed to replace cartridges, I was going to order on Amazon but didn't want to wait the 2 days if I didn't have to so I decided to head to Best Buy remembering that they price match so I could get the same price on Amazon but pick it up today. I ran in and grabbed the ink then walked around for 15 min trying to get help to purchase the ink. After asking someone in the Google area of they could do price matches at the registers and he said yes, I decided to go to the registers but the line was too long. I went back to the computer area to find the same two associates busy and no one else to help. I asked one lady if any employee could check me out and was advised yes. I walked past 3 employees huddled together and talking, not one offered assistance. I headed to a guy at a register on the floor that just finished with a customer and asked if he could help me checkout. I advised him that I had a price match and he spoke into his headset asking if they were honoring price matches today (Cyber Monday). He said his boss said no price matches. I said even for ink, it's not a sale item nor typically what people are looking to grab for Black Friday...I mean I could understand if I was asking to price match a TV or something. The manager through the earpiece said no. I said well I'll just buy it on Amazon then, which I did in 2 taps. My fault for needing ink on Cyber Monday. BTW I checked their Black Friday policy and they are either interpreting it incorrectly or it's too ambiguous. I read it to say they will not price match any sale items, it doesn't say they will not do any price matches whatsoever... Best Buy you need to rewrite the policy to be clear or train your employees to understand the policy. Here is the policy in reference: Any financing offers, bundle offers, items included in bundle offers, free items, pricing errors, mail-in offers, coupon offers, items that are advertised as limited quantity, out of stock items, clearance items, open-box items, refurbished items, pre-owned items, credit card offers, gift card offers, items included in gift card offers, rent/lease to own items, Point of Sale Activation cards, video game discounts related to a membership program, and items for sale Thanksgiving Day through the Monday after Thanksgiving, whether offered by Best Buy or a competitor. Came in and bought my Apple Watch 3 along with a case and a Ultra Curve screen protector. Paid for them to install the screen protector. The next day the screen protector falls off so i put it back on. This happens many times until i finally come back in to Best Buy. I go to exchange the screen protector and they Sold me a Apple Watch 1 screen protector which was the wrong one. I take it to geek squad for them to install and the lady tells me it won't seal all the way because my screen has small scratches on it. She also tells me not to put my case on for at least 24 hours to let the screen protector seal. The original Best Buy worker put the wrong screen protector on, and also put my case right on it after installing. Now because of their workers lack of knowledge I'm left with scratches on my screen. I brought my Powerbeats headphones into Best Buy to file a claim repair with the Geek Squad in early September. About a week later Geek Squad called me and let me know the headphones were ready to be picked up. I drove the 30 minutes to the Best Buy store and picked them up, and headed home. The next day I tried to turn on the headphones and sync them to my phone and they wouldn't connect. I tried again the next day And was able to sync them to my phone just to find out the sound was terrible. They were clearly a poorly refurbished pair. Frustrated, I took the Powerbeats back to the same Geek Squad and advised them of the problem on October 16th. They said they would send out for another pair and call me once they arrived to the store. 2 weeks later, I still had not heard anything from Best Buy so I checked my order status online. I received a message that I "Did not have a repair order." I called the Geek Squad 800 phone number to ask WHY and where my headphones are. I had the most rude representative on the phone who did not care at ALL that I was concerned. He told me my headphones were ready and he didn't know why my order wasn't coming up. SO, I Drive 30 minutes to the Best Buy store. When I arrive the Geek Squad rep told me that he would have someone go get my headphones. After about 15 minutes he tells me they "lost my headphones after receiving them." After telling him everything they had already put me through with these stupid headphones he tells me that "due to my extreme inconvenience" he was going to get me a pair of "BRAND NEW- never used- not refurbished-in box- Powerbeats" but I would need to come back the following week when they arrived. He said he made some notes on my account to ensure I would have no other problems moving forward. He said it could take about a week to receive the new pair in store. So I leave, mad and frustrated yet again. The next day, I get a call from Best Buy telling me the headphones are ready. I inquire before getting in my car and wasting my time again, to make sure I was getting a brand new pair and the representative (Richard at the store location) tells me "no, they are the refurbished pair." I explain to him this WHOLE STORY and ask why I am getting a different story from him. The day before I was told I was getting a new pair and now I am told from someone else that I'm getting the pair that they lost in the first place? Richard tells me there's nothing he can do and if I want to come get them I can. I am livid. I have bought thousands of dollars of items from Best Buy over the years and I have never had such a terrible experience in any customer service engagement. I am done with Best Buy. Terrible service. Terrible encounter. Geek squad SUCKS. read more
