I've had nothing but positive experiences at the Best Buy in the Sharpstown area of Houston. Every time I stop by, the employees are friendly, knowledgeable, and actually willing to help without hovering or pushing sales. One of the best things about this location is that it's never crowded when I'm there, which makes the whole experience way more relaxed compared to other Best Buy stores. The store is clean, well-organized, and checkout is always quick. I have a weird love-hate relationship with this location. I don't know if this is just an older Best Buy before they started building out their stores with more unique... "character" to them, but this just feels like a run down location when you walk in. It's dark, the ceilings seem lower, and it just seems like the higher ups don't really care about the place, probably because of the diverse minority neighborhood. On the other hand, I've had to order from this store for pick up several times, because when the nicer locations like Sugar Land and Memorial City don't have something, this store somehow ALWAYS has what I need in stock. There's usually a long line to check out, but rarely a long line for mobile order pick up, so it's not difficult to get in, get what I need, and get on my way. This location is at the end of a shopping center with a lot of other stores, so parking can be very hit or miss depending on what else is in the area and what's going on. I've generally never had any problem getting a "good spot" where I wasn't too far from the store and didn't have to lug anything any significant distance. read more

I respect heroes during CoVid19 pandemic not just the frontline medical professionals, but Best Buy employees when all stores were off limits. I was among thousands of people sent home to stay safe 5 months ago. First thing came to my mind was to buy something I need for my new home office on BestBuy.com. I was able to use their curbside pickups in the parking lot for some items and free home deliveries. I was happy with the service and promptness, which were better than ever. I noticed they almost had full staff helping the process. After the store safely opened, the employees observed complete protocols as social distancing and mask requirement etc. Although, I sometimes walk away disappointed because some items flew off the shelves faster than my two feet could carry. Not to be confused with Best Boy. My Best Boy lives in LA but he's kinda expensive, especially on weekends. Best is very accurate though. Especially at certain things. Came here with my best girl. This Best Buy did me a solid because even though they are in an iffy area - and one which I really like - and even though a lot of the things on their shelves are sold out, they are very helpful, and they found me exactly what I needed, which was a hard-to-find splitter for 2 headphones. There is an employee here who is jail breaking stolen Apple Watches from the lifetime greenway. After calling when my watch went from the gym to an apartment- to this Best Buy location. The employees never answered me on who the manager was, only referred me to another young and disgruntled employee who argued with me that the location was wrong. When I called they insisted i bring my original receipt on the watch to prove it was mine. I came in here to buy phone chargers to be used by patients in a waiting room at the hospital where I work. We have the charging unit but just needed the lighting cables for patients to connect to their phones. I got 12 and there were plenty more left on the shelf. When I got to the counter... Curtis ... the sales employee didn't even greet me or ask questions to understand what was going on. He immediately starts to lecture me and says, "you can't buy that many, there's a limit. You are not being courteous to others that might need these" I asked him what's the limit? There were no signs that indicate any limits, and besides there were still many cables left on the shelf. Then he asked me sarcastically..."what happened? Did you lose all your chargers?" When I explained to him that I don't personally need 12 chargers... these are going to patients sitting in a waiting room at the hospital then he quietly rang me up. I don't appreciate being interrogated for my purchases. I used a company card to pay for this; these were not for my personal benefits. Last time I was ignored, even the manager who said he would have someone help me (at the phone center, the one place you have to have help), the manager walked back by and when he saw I still wasn't being helped, just kept going. I purchased an open box iPad from Best Buy 3 days ago. The iPad had issues carried over from the previous owner, which isn't Best Buy's fault. However, when I tried to return this $1000 tablet 3 days after they sold the lemon to me, they refused to help me. They referred me to Apple to resolve the issue rather than assisting me in any way given that I have never owned an iPad before. When I spoke to a manager about the issue, he called me a liar by suggesting that the issues I have "could have been made up" because he has no proof of their existence. They were more than willing to take my money, but now that there is a problem it is my responsibility to get it fixed before they can have anything to do about it. Save a step and just go directly to Apple with your iPads because Best Buy has no interest in helping their clients after they've gotten their money. read more

The first thing you'll notice about this location is it's size! It might look normal from the the outside, but it's actually pretty small on the inside. The floors were dirty and looked like they hadn't been vacuumed in days. I can't say that the store was very well organized, but it was very easy to find what we were looking for. I didn't see many employees or customers walking around the store, but the workers were very nice at the checkout. It doesn't seem to be in a very nice part of town, but this was the only store that had the movie we were looking for. In general, the place didn't seem too lively and it's probably the quietest Best Buy I've ever been to. Not rating the store experience but online order that was to be processed at this store. Ordered open box LG SPK8 rear surround speakers set that were "in stock" at this store today. I placed the order and it was processed and then got an email 30 minutes later saying the order can't be filled because it's not in stock. Hmmm. Really? I looked back online many hours later and I am still able to buy it despite that email I called the 888 number to get an explanation of why this is happening and of course the recording says that the wait is 45 minutes and I have option of having them call me back which I do. I get the call expecting to speak to a person but NOPE. I am on hold for another 15 minutes before I talk to an unhelpful person who transferred me to online sales person then another person who was trying to help me and put me on hold to speak to another person and then line disconnects. This happened after 45 minutes of speaking to three different persons. Basically a total waste of my time I figured this last person would call me back but of course didn't happen. My fault for expecting Best Service from Best Buy. Guess it's Best Buy before but worst service afterwards Hence I called again and went through the same ordeal of having them call me back and again I wait 28 minutes this time before speaking to someone. What's the purpose of having them call me back if they are going to have me on hold for that long? Get the hint!!! No one likes to wait listening to the music looping over and over again. If the purpose is to reduce the wait time/frustration of the customer this definitely doesn't help at all. In fact it aggravated me to no avail. After another 25 minutes on the phone at which time the rep actually called this store and found out they have none of those speakers in stock. Seriously??? Given that your an electronic store, why can't your computers keep up to date track of inventory? Even now I can still order that open box item for pickup at that store I mean seriously??? Customer service on the phone was absolutely atrocious. If you put me on hold and then the call is dropped, doesn't it make sense to call the customer back rather then having them go through the whole process all over again? I guess I was expecting reasonable customer service which is a tad too much. Given this atrocious interactions I have no qualms about giving Best Buy absolutely zero stars for support services. The online support team and computer system needs to be completely overhauled as it is just a time bomb waiting for customers to blow up with dissatisfaction. Worst ever customer service from online staff and antiquated computer system that can't keep track of what is in their stores makes you wonder if this company will be a memory like circuit city. So the manager there Valerie looked in the computer and located one in Sharpstowne. She then called the store and confirmed it was there. Lauren was holding it for us. We drove all the way over to S. Gessner and Lauren had the TV waiting for us set up and ready to go. She explained it had a nick on the screen and was missing the remote. This is in Regards to their geek squad department, My wife got her computer repaired there, was not notified that she should keep the receipt because all of our info is in the system already . Sends me today to go pick it up, having all of our info I figured it would be a breeze to give them our address and other pertinent info and them let me pick up my computer, this is not what occurred I was told I need an ID with the same address on it, so I leave and return with My wallet and ID , since my wife has an older ID it has a past address on it she made sure and updated the information in their system . Instead of checking the system to confirm the clerk compares my ID to here and refuses me service without even checking the computer. So I'd recommend going here only if you don't mind your property kept from you via lack of care or proper service , if I could leave a zero star review trust me I would . Upon arriving at this location, I couldn't help but feel I was somewhere back in the g-h-e-t-t-o. No really, I was getting the stares and feeling kind of uncomfortable and unsafe, but luckily I wasn't alone. While taking a stroll through the new movie release section of dvd's, I found them to be mixed with other movies that were released a while back ago along with blu-rays. It's like nobody is really organizing the place. There was one guy though who actually passed me in the game section and asked if I needed any help. That was probably the best highlight of this location. Other than that, they did not have many items in stock. This location was also small compared to others I have visited. This location is terrible. The customer service is my main complaint. I did a return here and as soon as I walked in, I knew I was gonna have to deal with poor service. The guy at the door didnt greet me--he was chatting it up with the security guard...so I walked right pass them and headed to the customer service desk. The girls there were milling around and basically not doing anything. I was the only person in line and had to wait entirely to long to receive service. When I finally got called to the return desk, the rep didnt know how to process the return, so I again had to wait. Overall, this is a terrible store and the workers are the blame. read more

After almost 2 years of working near this location, thankfully the only interaction I've had with it have been Online Pick Up Orders. Both have which have had no issues, aside from atrocious customer service. In my opinion, customer service is half of the buying experience. Why 2 stars then? Because location is another key component. This place is not only in a undesired area of Sharpstown for high priced item shopping, it's also pretty gross as far as cleanliness in concerned. It has a particular smell, and visible grit and grime is scattered in and out of the store (see store front picture). Back to employee interactions, I have been disappointed at best with every employee that has had to endure helping me. No "hello, welcome to Best Buy"'s or "thanks for shopping with us". Not that I care a whole bunch, but this lack of concern in this area highlights this store's overall attitude: apathetic. If you can shop it online, DO IT. I dropped of my computer to get it repaired, since I had purchased the Geek Squad Tech support thought it would be easy fix. Well received first call let me know it was the power supply they could fix it, Great I said let me know when it is ready to be picked up. Second phone call it is ready you need to call the number on the workorder and make an appointment to pick it up. Made appointment for 4:20pm. To my surprise when I showed up my computer had not been worked on at all, I was told they just had run a diagnosis on the computer that was it, I replied with you told me it was fixed and I had to make an appointment to pick it up?? The youngman behind the counter just kept talking over me, so I asked for a manager, so then he smarted off at me, and then said what are you going to do?? The manager came over got to admit he was helpful, asked that I give him a chance to make it right, I agreed, Before I left, I asked for the youngmans name so I could report this to best buys corporate office he would not give it to me, so I a told him to give the youngman a message from me{ I wanted a big piece of his ass} probably not the best words but hey he was a smart ass!! I eventually had to go back to the store (unfortunately the only location in Houston with my dryer in stock) and spent 2 hours sorting out my delivery only to get a call from the delivery service this morning saying that the dryer was not sent to the warehouse in time. Advisement: DO NOT MAKE PURCHASES AT BEST BUY # 213. I frequented and have made many purchases @ this location often, and have done so for nearly 13 years. The staff, generally, are pleasant and helpful in my experiences. However, August 24,2018, I purchased, unlocked (outright, cash) the newest release from Samsung cellular, the Galaxy Note9. The day before, on August 23rd, I was given an accounting consult in the store, and given a printout, that my trade in phone would subtract $150 from the total cost. Moreover, Samsung offered with purchase, complimentary AKC headphones valued at $99 for purchasing. I asked, while in the store on the next day, date of purchase, what the trade value was. The manager N*c*, said he'd do 80 and apply a coupon to subtract the 70 as that was what I was quoted and discussed, ad nauseam, with J*n****r, the day prior. J*n****r walked through the math with me, comparing savings of trading in my phone for a credit toward the new, versus paying installments. I paid upfront instead of installments because it seemed, based on the math Best Buy expressed and agreed upon, to purchase it outright. I asked the manager whether he needed to see the printout and he said no, he'd apply the 150, as quoted. My receipt shows that 80 dollars was applied to the trade, not 150; its been a few weeks and I never received the headphones - nor any confirmarion emails, that the then instore Samsung rep A**m, said were confirmed as ordered, and would be sent to my home. Today I called Samsung and was informed that the Samsung rep, A**m, who repeated to me that the promotional with purchase headphones were ordered, uploaded the wrong receipt, so the headsets were never authorized to be sent as a result. This particular process is not a Samsung issue, this is a Best Buy "unorganized systems and policies" issue for highly marketed instore product rollout and revoked offers. Other customer care issues were understandable as this, in fairness, was a product rollout day of a mass coveted product. And again, this staff is usually knowledgeable and helpful during the shopping phase, but the business operation is not to standard, and the visiting Samsung rep is a significant factor in the poor review herein. So much so that I will not honor the complimentary 30 min Samsung how-to session offered at purchase, as this rep is instructing it. He needs significant and immediate retraining. Overall, the store is mediocre enough to peruse and look over product, but for $1200+ purchases, please consider elsewhere. In many cases, like this, perhaps it best to straight to the corporation of interests' website, and if available their brick and mortar location.
