I went to Best Buy to find a home router that would boost my WiFi signal. The store is packed with an overwhelming number of options that are priced from low to high. A clerk connected me with Kia, who was knowledgeable and helpful. She listened to my issues and asked questions. She offered suggestions to raise with my service provider before purchasing a new router (which i did). This was the best customer service that I have had anywhere in a long time. i'll be returning after I solve my provider issues. read more

I'd had my son ship me a 32" Insignia TV from Amazon which turned out to be too small for my armoire. One visit to Best Buy in Lafayette, I found was not enough as I needed a refund from Amazon for them to take it. My son started the paperwork, and I downloaded it easily. Took those two sheets to Best Buy on the way to Indy down US421 for a party, as well as the TV. The polite guy at the return desk called for a manager who started the process. When she finished, she asked it the box had been opened, which it had been to "look" at it. She confirmed that the contents were all there and said, "You're good to go." And my son in VA. told me that he promptly got the confirmation for his refund. One thing, the store designation should be "Zionsville," not "Carmel West." Been up and down the Michigan Road since 1940 and calling it "Carmel" which is way over on US 31 is quite a stretch. Nice experience and will save me some traffic time on Wed. when I go back to Lafayette to the VA. Thank you. read more

I went to the Geek Squad on Michigan Rd, indy to have my laptop upgraded from Windows 8.1 to Windows 10. They installed an old version with an expired activation key so I can't activate it on my computer. They did not run multiple updates so I had to waste an evening on the phone with user support to do that. After 2 more trips to the store They said there's nothing they can do about the expired key but as long as I can get by with partial access it'll be ok. Don't expect customer service at this location. There are plenty of people with blue shirts, however don't expect them to be bothered to help explain a technology. They were not busy today (Sunday afternoon) and we were looking for a tablet for our granddaughter. We asked and were directed to a lady stocking shelves. She told us we would have to wait until she was done. So we waited a couple minutes but noticed that she was not moving with any sense of urgency. We decided to go next door to Target where we received prompt attention even though they were crowded. This was not the first time I did not receive customer service by Best Buy. We ended up buying a tv and their manager refused to help us load the tv in our minivan because he "has dealt with too many vans that can't fit a tv" - the TV fit perfectly! One star!!! I bought a Brother printer and did not receive any printed instructions! I went into the store and was able to talk to a rep who found instructions and printed several pages for me. None of the instructions included how to copy a paper by inserting it into the printer. I just tried call the store and, as before, had trouble talking with someone. I finally found a way to do a printed message, but could not find a way to send it. Again I tried to call, but gave up after my call was transferred, then not answered for 15 minutes, so gave up. Hey everyone be careful when ordering things from Best Buy. They tried to deliver a washer yesterday that was damaged and it has been nothing short of a cluster trying to get this issue resolved. And it still isn't resolved. Their support is rude and unhelpful. They eventually told me to go to a store so I did. No surprise they can't do anything either. I should have known better based on past experiences. I hope someone from there sees this and reaches out. Otherwise I will rant about how horrible they are as long as people will listen. This is for the Geek Squad since my experiences here pertains to them. Surprisingly they're steadily busy so it's best to schedule an appointment online or who knows how long you're going to wait. They have a computer recycling program but some parts, like my screen they'll charge you for. Actually they'll try to charge you anything, which is my only complaint because it all adds up to be expensive. At a point, you wonder, "this is not worth it, I'll just get a new computer, phone, etc." Store is clean, staff has always been friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable to me. read more

This particular Best Buy location has provided the best customer service I've ever received at any Best Buy location, and not just once. Recently while browsing computers, a young man offered assistance and I decided to ask a few questions about different devices even though I'm not in the market for an immediate purchase. He inquired as to my specific computer uses before suggesting certain models and brands. He did an excellent job, not only in pitching products but also in generally being kind and informative. On a separate occasion within the past couple weeks, we were looking at appliances and received absolutely phenomenal service from a wonderful young lady who I had earlier seen in the televisions section. She was far and away the most thorough, calm and collected retail salesperson I have ever dealt with. We not only made the purchase we were looking for, we also left more knowledgeable than when we arrived. Although this location isn't as big as others, it has the majority of items all stores do and their customer service is remarkable. read more

This is your typical retail store. They have pretty much everything you could ask for as far as electronics go. If you are going to be purchasing DVD's or Blu-Rays; go down the street to Target! They will sell Blu-ray's here for $34.99 that you can get at Target for $24.99! If it's the same product; I don't see why you should pay more... The sales people are kind of pushy. Especially when it comes to buying "black tie plans" or "protection plans". They come out of the woodwork a lot of times and always say things like "we don't work on commission so..." I just don't like to be backed into a corner to buy an extended warranty that covers everything but what I have happen to it! A lot of times, I know what I want and I just want to wonder and it gets somewhat frustrating when someone comes up every 5 seconds asking if they can help you find something. On the flipside, when you need to find something; no one is around! That's just the way it works! lol All in all, they have a great staff, they are friendly, and are extremely helpful when you need them. read more

TERRIBLE experience tonight! We received a wedding gift from our friend, and after trying out the item, we would like to exchange to something else. According to Best buy's policy, they can give us store credits if we'd like to do the return on the gift. And since we haven't decided on what item we'd like to exchange to, we want to get the store credits and use those later. However, the store manager didn't give us store credits! Instead, he refunded all the money to my friend!!! When we showed him the Beat Buy policy, he said he couldn't do anything about it because it's already been refunded!!! He was so rude and refused to apologize! He even threatened us that he would call the policy if we didn't leave the store!! We are long-time elite member of Best Buy, and we never had any bad experience at other locations. This was the first time that we've treated so badly in a Best Buy store! We will never come back to this store for sure. BE AWARE that the employees in this store will NOT apologize if they ever do anything wrong. They will only push whatever mistakes they made to the customers!!! Again, I have to called out the general manager of the store Travis. He's the worst Best Buy store manager I've ever seen. The worst customer service experience I have ever encountered. Wanted the geek squad individual working 11/4/17 to test a laptop charging cord who had no problem in taking his sweet time and acting like it was a huge imposition that I asked him to do his job. Took him 15 minutes to check me out. When it became apparent I was not going to get a simple charging cord tested in less than 30 minutes, I asked for the items I purchased and the receipt and left. He was sure to hold the items just out of reach so I had to lean way over the counter to reach the items I PAID FOR. This is why these stores are closing. The customer service is horrible. read more

My extended "geek squad" protection did me NO GOOD, and I have already had to buy new replacements for two of the "new" appliances. This pertains to an online order with ship to this particular store. Ordered a GoPro for $329, called in on Sunday for a price match to Walmart for $99 and was told it would go through and I would receive confirmation in 48hours. Go pro was shipped to this store by Wednesday, still no email. I call Best Buy.com customer service and apparently the CSR I talked with on Sunday never put in the price match request so all they could do was match Walmart' current price of $319. Obviously very upset by this, I asked to speak with a supervisor but instead intentionally got transferred to another CSR. Neither were helpful at all. This is the second time I've been shafted by Best Buy. What infuriates me is that I was lied to twice. Once about the price match being processed and the second about talking to a supervisor. Best Buy used to have good customer service. Now I go elsewhere for my electronics. Things here are over priced to begin with and their return policy sucks! Be aware most electronics have a 14 day return policy unless you are an elite member which requires $1500 annual spend. read more

So after the DVD issue I gave this store another chance and purchased a television... the television broke within 60 days and they were supposed to come out and exchange the television. I purchased a delivery and installation with the original television and they were to do the same with the exchange television... I went on a slow Sunday, 15 people in the store max. I had a few questions about my recently purchased surface pro and was considering an additional purchase for some accessories. Geek squad was obviously annoyed and was not knowledgeable on the accessories I needed. He only partially answered/fixed the issue I was having. Headed to the back where I ran into an HP salesman by the name of Tim who was nicer and more knowledgeable and even helped me look at samsung tablets! (not even his line of product). The samsung sales group was more interested in the football game than selling. I've been to this best buy several times and I always receive Sub par service but this was by far the worst. Two stars ONLY because they have a great HP sales rep. They need to hire people who actually enjoy their job and are personal like Tim. read more

After spending nearly 3.5 hours at HH Greg to just walk away and then another 3.5 hours at another HH Greg location we had had enough. We walked into Best Buy for a full kitchen set of appliances. Michelle, Jackie and staff were fantastic! HH Greg lost a life time customer yesterday to Best Buy. Delivery was not smooth, dents on appliance, kept passing the problem off to Samsung and the middle guy, yet would not give me the contact names and numbers. Said "we will call them and have them call you ". 2 months later, we got a 10% discount off appliance for damage. I tried to return a case for a tablet that wasn't the quality I expected for the price. Didn't notice, but return policy is 15 days. Be sure to pay attention to that, they are unforgiving on this policy. I was at 21 days. At original purchase of the tablet itself, sales person very inattentive and actually recommended I go on line to get what I was looking for. They didn't have what I was looking for. Offered no substitutes or discussion of alternatives. Love the tablet I was finally able to pick from their store with minimal help from sales person. First Paul told me if we add a line the iphone is free....next he told me that a new special started 7-31-16 and we could get 2 iphones for free. Guess what?? These two free iphones are costing me $1500 and I have spent over 6 hours on the phone with Best Buy and Verizon. I was robbed of $1500 and my time.
