Quick, fast Chinese food Great prices for lunch specials but the food was okay and basic, my General Tso Chicken was drowning in sauce. Chicken wasn't crispy any. Rice good. My spring roll was confused, which included chicken and shrimp. Overall I was not impressed by the food at all and I will not be returning. This Chinese restaurant is right down the street from my workplace and I will choose other options that are near before this one ever again.

"Chow Mein" - no crunchy noodles tried to say fried pieces of wonton were what the noodles were.

Went to Best China IV. Got in a discussion with the manager when he brought my Chow Mein dish stating that there are no noodles in it. The word mein translated to English means NOODLE. I know the difference between Lo Mein and Chow Mein. I've had both before. The owner/manager insisted that I was thinking of Pan Fried Noodles. We went back an fourth. It was terrible service and he didn't apologize nor be honest that they forgot the noodles or didn't have any or whatever the case is. But this is the first time I had any issue and had to argue that Chow Mein was in fact a type of noodle. This is not the first time I had a bad experience but I'm not ever returning there again. Their food is less than average quality.

The only thing appetizing about the meal was the egg roll. Paid over $11 for my food and could not eat it. Look at the chicken! I've been to plenty of Chinese restaurants in the past and never had food this bad. I would not recommend.

Had a delicious late lunch/early dinner here last week with a companion. (Around 4 or 5 p.m.) I've been searching for good Chinese food in Charlotte for many years. I've found a few and I'm happy to add this one to the list. We were seated promptly and our drink orders were taken and brought out right away. (We ordered hot tea.) For our meal, I had the shrimp egg foo yung. My companion ordered moo goo gai pan. (Which I have often seen on menus but never knew what it was.) The portion sizes were great. Mine more so as I actually had enough for a few meals with the leftovers. The meal came with white sticky rice. Upon request, we were given additional rice to go. The restaurant itself is tucked away in a strip mall with a Harris Teeter and a few other businesses. The decor is nice (booths with tall padded seat backs). The cloth napkins take the atmosphere up a notch. Our server (a tall older Asian gentleman with a serious face) was dressed in a white jacket, white shirt, and black slacks. That also helped elevate the atmosphere. But the place is not at all stuffy feeling. Several people came in for take out while we were eating. Seems to be a popular place. My only issue is that it's in an area I don't frequent. *sigh*

It was pushing 97 degrees outside, and after a long afternoon of computer work and errands, I finally stopped in for the crispy scallion chicken and pan-fried dumplings. Huge portions. Fair prices. Friendly people. Consistently solid food every single time. The best part today honestly might have been the air conditioning. They've got a cool, comfortable space to wait while your order is prepared, which felt amazing after baking outside all day. I forgot to take food photos because I was hungry and ready to get home, but trust me, they pack these takeout containers like a game of Jenga. Nothing spills. Nothing shifts. Everything is packed tight and thoughtfully. Only tiny downside: the dumpling sauce goes into the same container as the hot dumplings, so by the time I got home, it had softened the bottom a bit. Still, the dumpling wrappers are thick and crispy enough to survive the trip. Into the air fryer later they go. One warning: the parking lot can be chaotic since it sits right off busy Providence Road. Just be patient. Cars are constantly pulling in, backing out, blocking entrances, and today people were absolutely treating red lights like suggestions. Saw it multiple times, including a bus cutting across traffic when I had the right-of-way. Charlotte drivers... please relax a little. That said, the food made the trip worth it. Taipei Express is one of those dependable local spots that always comes through when you need a solid meal without spending a fortune. Life is too short to not eat well. Get out there and eat your way through Charlotte.

The beef & broccoli was perfect, the beef was tender and the sauce was paired magically with the rice or with the lo mein noodles. I enjoyed my hot & sour soup that had tofu, pork, and wontons inside of it! Total for the 4 items was $34 and leftovers for seconds! The staff was really friendly and told us it would be a 30-40 minute wait, but we ordered inside and our food was done in 20-25 minutes. Would come again!!

It is busy enough that plenty of other people had also called in for takeout. The price was higher than I thought it would be by a significant margin; I thought something was off but then rechecking their menu I saw it was indeed $20 for a vegetable entree. On the upside, they did offer brown rice at no extra charge. Still, I'll get three meals out of it and as someone who eats a lot of takeout, this was not a great value. In terms of quality, I was thrilled to find that they offered a stir-fried okra dish. This is a ubiquitous Indian dish, and of course okra is common throughout the tropics globally, but I'd never seen this offered at a Chinese restaurant before. And the rapid cooking technique typical of the cuisine produced a delightfully crisp vegetable, which went great with a black bean sauce and some very hot dried chilis. On the other hand, their interpretation of ma po tofu had some fermented broad beans but minimal vegetables (sometimes you get mushrooms or peas or at least some leeks or something) and no numbing sensation. They had a bean curd roll dish that I enjoyed, and some quality dumplings. Overall, not huge portions and a mix of okay to great quality.
