Food was very good. Large portions, too much for one person to eat. I recommend getting one dish and sharing at dinnertime. I started out with Wonton soup, same Wonton soup as every other Chinese restaurant I've ever been to, good nonetheless. Ordered three egg rolls as appetizers. Duck sauce and Spicy Mustard may be home made, but on table dispensed out of unmarked red and yellow squeezable ketchup and mustard bottles. I guess the spicy mustard in the yellow bottle was self explanatory but wasn't entirely sure about the duck sauce in the red bottle. I had General Tso's Chicken and it was very good. My two children shared Chicken and Broccoli and it too was good. Rice was fresh and moist. Waiter kept my Diet Coke, my daughter's Sprite and my other daughter's water topped off. Waiter was attentive but not friendly, didn't smile or talk at all. Language barrier? I'll give him that. I gave them three stars. Good food. read more

Best China was my neighborhood Chinese restaurant for years. I loved this place! It's not a fancy place, but a little nicer than most of the "hole in the wall" Chinese restaurants you see in strip malls. The staff was always super friendly to me, and very accommodating. My favorite dish was the Sa-Cha Chicken. Strips of white chicken breast in a mildly spicy brown sauce, stir fried with zucchini, mushrooms, baby corn, water chestnuts, and carrots, and served with rice. Sooooo good, and the dinner portion was quite large. I've been there many, many times, and always found the food quality to be consistently good. read more

Since I go here at least once a week for lunch, I can honestly say that this place is no more than 3.5 stars . It's not bad for shopping strip Chinese, but they make no effort to be any better than that. This place will never have a special of the day, or get creative with the menu at all. They did just recently remodel the restaurant so at least it's not gross like it used to be. read more

Everything is fresh, the vegetables are fresh (not frozen or canned), the shrimp was cooked perfectly. The Lemon Chicken w/Broccoli was also good, a bit too much breading on the chicken. Portions are large. A good local neighborhood restaurant. We'll be back to try more of their menu choices. read more

Had not been to Best China in years. Returned to have a super delicious meal. Service was great. Enjoyed the Poo poo platter, shrimp fried rice, and Lomain. The portions were very generous and the price was very reasonable. I am sure we will return again soon. read more

We have been ordering take out for 12 years from here, and every once in a while something gets messed up, as we order quite a lot of food. Today we placed an order, had the order taker repeat it back over the phone, and when we got the order home, it was absolutely wrong. When we called to discuss the order issue, they were trying to tell us we got what we ordered. I ended up having to take it back to them, and ask for a refund. I called and ordered from Best China it would be ready in about 10 minutes. So my husband and I went to pick it up. He went in to get the order and came out to the car and said that "Their debit card machine was down and that they wanted him to leave his debit card number" and they would run it later. I don't think so! So we had to go down to the Harris Teeter buy some drinks and get cash back because we rarely carry cash. Then we go back to pick up the order. When my husband gets in the car I ask, "Did you get sauce, duck sauce and soy sauce"? He said yes I put it in there before I was paying the first time. BUT, when we get home, they had taken all of sauce out!!!!! So, we will NEVER BE GOING THERE AGAIN. RUDE!!!! read more

Beware!! Best China? Not even close!!! I went here with a couple men and they were shocked at how filthy this place was and how bad the food was. They will usually eat anything and they were scared they would get sick from eating here! My sweet & sour chicken was so horrible I can't even begin to describe how bad it was. Looked and tasted like they dumped a bottle of ketchup on some chicken and sent it out. The pineapple was sour- not sweet and sour- just rotten sour! Nasty stuff!! I sent my plate back and they offered to make me something else, but I was so grossed out and scared to eat anything else, that I declined. The others had some kind of chicken/ fish meals that were also almost inedible. Meat was nasty, vegetables overcooked to the point they should have been thrown out. Fish gross. We won't ever go back. This place needs to be inspected by the health department! read more

Worst experience ever. I called in an order of Beef and Broccoli I ask the young girl that answered the phone to have the kitchen cut the broccoli a little smaller. They tend to be the whole tree. She told me on the phone the kitchen was too busy for that and that my order would be ready in 15 minutes. When I got to the restaurant to pick up my food there was not one customer in the dining room. There was one customer ordering when I came in but that was it...NO ONE!!! When I asked to speak to a manager there was no one there in a supervisory position that I could talk to. REALLY? Isn't it the kitchen's job to cook? So in the 15 minutes it took to prepare my food you got rid of all your customers that were keeping the kitchen so busy. Needless to say I wasn't happy with the service. Then I got home to eat my BEEF and Broccoli it was nothing but Broccoli trees. There may have been 5 pieces of beef in the dish. At this point, next time I'm craving Chinese, I'll go to the Harris Teeter Asian bar at the other end of the shopping center. read more

I walked in to pick up an order I phoned in. There was an older man standing at the host booth and a young girl ringing someone up. I waited behind the person in front of me paying for their order. After 2-3 minutes another person walked in and around me to the end of the pickup counter and the man at the host table met him immediately with his to go order and took his payment. The man left with his food and the worker returned to the host table and played on his phone. I guess this guy was obviously more important than myself, the next person in line. I'll be going somewhere that values my business from now on. read more

NEVER EAT THERE!!! I called in an order and for them to not fry the chicken wings hard, and the lady answering the phone and taking my order said ok. When I went to get my food I took it home and was serving it to my husband and we try eating the wings alone with the other items we ordered and the wings were fried so hard they were like rocks. It seems to me that they were left over wings from the day before and the refried them. I call and complained to the lady who took my order and she acted like she did not care. Looked them up online which said they were open until 11pm, when we pulled up the open sign was lit and the door said they were open until 10. We arrived at 9:20 and was asked our name for a take out. When I stated dine in he said we are closing soon. I said your sign says open and it's 9:20. He shrugged his shoulders and said so. Mind you we were 30 minutes away and decided to pass up the plethora of restaurants on Independence to come here. I will never return to this restaurant simply for the lack of respect shown. I use to like eating there but the service could be a lot better. The man at the front counter really bothers me. His whole attire is wrong, when it comes to greeting people. He's always wearing a old ball cap t-shirt and jeans. And now that its summer he's probably wearing shorts, showing off those god awful hairy legs. I ordered food at this place at 9:45pm. I showed up at exactly 10:00pm. The lights was out and my food was left on the counter. They did not even to call me to let me know the place was getting ready to close or nothing. I called the manager the next day and yelled at me and told me I cheated him and hung up. I went to restaurant thinking if he saw I was a weekly customer he would have a different approach. No, he had the same nasty attitude. I manage my own restaurant so I understand customer service. I asked him was my business not important to him. He said no and just walked off. I spent an average of $30.00 a week at this place. I will NEVER return again.
