I was looking for mochi donuts but not from the typical chain mochi donut place and close to Hermosa Beach. Read reviews saying that this place had good ones so I decided to try it. I tried the regular glazed, blueberry, and vanilla. My favorite was the vanilla, and my friend really liked the glazed. The blueberry was good too, but the others were better. What really made the mochi donuts here great Was the texture and how well it held up after a few hours. It was just the right mochi texture without it being rubbery. I also got a breakfast sandwich from here and it was delicious. The next day, I tried the cronut, and it was flaky, just like it should be. There was only one flavor, glazed, but it was just as good as the original cronut in NYC'. I don't know why there is anyone hating on this donut shop! It's your typical Cambodian immigrant owned donut shop that every California native grew up with. It's open 24 hours a day, and they have a large variety of donuts. Sometimes, I go there for a quick treat when I feel like I've really earned the calories that come in a donut. Other times, I go there when I want a dozen donuts to bring to someone because they are going through a tough time. There was one time (a Sunday morning) that I did go somewhere else because there was a line around the corner. Otherwise, it's my go-to donut shop! It seems like a lot of people on here are concerned about their prices. The prices of just about everything have gone up since the start of the pandemic, so it's unfair to ask them to sell their food at pre-pandemic prices. Also, rent in Hermosa Beach is expensive, so of course they are going to sell their donuts for more than donut stores inland. The service was the worst!!!! I just moved to the area and thought I would give this place a try because I often pick up donuts for the office. There's nothing worse than feeling like you're bothering someone when you walk into a store and they are inconvenienced. With so many other donut shops around, go to one that cares about having your business. I would drive out of my way to support a business owner that understands this. Also after getting home and trying out what we bought, we all thought they tasted funny and felt like it gave us a stomach ache. Enjoyed this small vintage shop. Sometimes an old school donut shop with strong coffee and a smile is all you need. Donuts are on point. Coffee is strong and can be made, hot, iced, etc. Tried one of their bagel sandwiches. Was delicious, add the jalapeño's for that am kick you need. They also do fresh squeezed orange juice. These are genuinely some of the best donuts--as the name implies--that I have ever had. Prices for the dozen are super reasonable, and I buy them all the time for my workplace. However, one time I tried to order what they call their "Half and half dozen," which entails half cake/glaze donuts and half bars/more special donuts. I ordered a half and half dozen, and the lady misunderstood me and gave me two boxes with half a dozen donuts in each, of a regular dozen. I got a lovely twist and maple iced cruller at Best Donuts last week. They were both fresh and excellent. These traditional donut shops are my absolute favorite. I didn't realize what a treat they were growing up. BEST donuts? More like "Okay Donuts". Nothing really spectacular about the donuts. They were just donuts to me. The apple fritter was super oily. I had to let it sit in a paper towel for all the oil, and it didn't have those surprise chunks of apple that I expected. I also ordered 2 ham n chizzle croissantizzles. They were pretty good. Great ham to bread ratio. I don't know if it's a husband and wife duo, but the "husband" seemed way friendlier than the "wife". She seemed like the real donut pusher in the crew. Ya know? Not sure if they are getting the cleaning spray on the donuts when they clean the windows, or if the donuts are just absorbing it, but it was unmistakeable. We decided to try out this place since it was across the street from our hotel (Hotel Hermosa, it's amazing too). They are open 24 hours! Though we just walked across the street there is a lot, that is shared with other businesses, but it fairly large. I never saw it without spots since people tend to be in and out quickly enough. They donuts are freshly baked every day. And I assume throughout the day since they are open 24/7. They have some seating, plus the standard coffee and bottled beverages and water. But you're coming for the donuts and they are top notch. The cinnamon buns are huge! Crullers that are dipped in chocolate, strawberry, or something else which I didn't get a chance to ask about. Everything was just so tasty and fresh. I wasn't sure what I wanted, so we took a couple minutes to decide, this seemed to annoy the person working that day, but oh wells.
