Came here on a hot Friday afternoon. I had this place bookmarked for quite some time, and I'm glad I finally stopped by. There are a few tables on the left when you walk in, with additional seating upstairs. I ended up ordering the 15-piece beef and pork dumplings. I wanted them half fried and half steamed. They normally don't allow half-and-half orders, but since my friend ordered a dish that came with steamed dumplings, they made an exception for me. :) Thank you! They give you a buzzer when your order is ready. When I got my food, it looked delicious. The dumplings came with a side of homemade soy sauce that was slightly sweet but really good. The dumplings tasted fresh and homemade. My favorite were the fried dumplings, for obvious reasons, everything tastes better fried. They have plenty of other items on the menu, and I'll definitely be back to try them. Here's the short version: the dumplings here are fantastic and well-worth the short venture off the beaten path. I've gone up and down the main street in Englewood countless times, and it wasn't until I was hit with a hankering for Korean food and did a quick search, only to find there was this hidden gem right off Palisade Avenue. From the outside, Best Dumpling doesn't seem like much. Nor does it seem like much from the inside. It's a squishy, two-floor space with just a few tables and chairs. On the first floor, most of the available space is taken up by the kitchen and the order window, but that's because they make everything fresh here. Dumplings dominate the menu (along with a few Korean stews and dishes, many of which feature said dumplings). I don't believe there's such thing as a 'best' dumpling, but that's because I love most dumplings I meet. When one of the owners overheard me waffling back and forth between the pork and broccoli/shrimp dumplings, she kindly offered to do a split order. Boy, was that fantastic. My preference is for fried dumplings, and they're done up perfectly here. I gasped quite when I bit into a pork dumpling and felt some of the juices dribble out of its skin. My greater surprise was how much better I liked the broccoli and shrimp. I can't think of another place that offers a filling like this one (plus the other interesting ones they've got here) and it was fantastic, especially with the accompanying garlic soy sauce. Believe me when I say there's a reason why they sell this sauce by the bottle. My husband's ramyun dish (complete with rice cakes and four beef dumplings) was also satisfying. Truth be told, it was something I could conjure up easily enough with a pack of Korean instant noodles and some of their frozen dumplings (also sold on site). But for a cold, fall night, this was a lovely meal. There's a small and graveled parking lot adjacent to the restaurant. I didn't spot any signage so I took a chance and left my car there with no issues. Parking in this part of Englewood is always a little tough so I consider it a huge boon that there's at least a few spots available. If you've got a yen for supporting small, super-local businesses or just a healthy appetite for fresh dumplings, you really can't get better than this small but mighty spot. read more

Since my initial review, I have learned there was, in fact, more seating upstairs, as well as the 'patio' they added in the warmer weather. One star removed because as many times as I order "to-stay" or "dine in", they hand me my order in a paper bag instead of on a tray. A recent order, I asked for steamed and was given fried. Loveeee this place. Definitely a little bit of a "hole in the wall", but they churn out some good food. The sweet spicy wings were THE BOMB, not too spicy, perfectly crispy and smothered in lots of sauce. The pork dumplings were also really really good. Even the fries were super crispy! The only thing I didn't love were the steamed beef dumplings, the inside could have used a little more flavor. My food was ready in 10 minutes and it was cheap! They also sell their dumplings frozen and their sauce as well. Will definitely be back to try their other dumplings. They had a small table inside that fit around 5 people but I would recommend getting the food to go. They also do large platters of dumplings which are great to bring to gatherings. read more

My family has always gotten our frozen dumplings from this spot. 25+ years later and as an adult, I still come here to buy my dumplings. Don't let the frozen aspect scare you. The dumplings are cooked and then frozen. Like the name suggests, these truly are the best dumplings i've ever had. So much so that whenever I go out to eat at korean restaurants, I don't order dumplings because they just don't ever compare to these. What makes these dumplings so great is the taste of the dumplings and the excellent ratio of wrapper to filling. It really IS the best dumplings (and Korean wings). I came here on a whim, who doesn't like the best of anything? Oh my god. I was PLEASANTLY SURPRISED. It truly is the best. So flavorful not too onion forward (what I feel a lot of places do now!). There's no over powering flavors. They're just perfectly made. DO NOT SLEEP on their ginger sauce (I'm not a ginger person but I bought a whole jar because it's my favorite sauce ever now). You can get in steamed or fried. I like to do the chicken steamed, the beef or shrimp and broccoli fried, and the sweet and spicy wings. (But I've tried all and everything is great). They also have other types of soups, noodle dishes and other basic korean dishes. The shrimp dumplings i got were pretty frickin good. for $8 i got 12, steamed lil nuggets of delish-ish-ness. However, they were small. I was hoping they would be a bit bigger, and have more filling but the flavour was good. as i opened the lid to them i got SMACKED in the face with a shrimp smell. I was not impressed with the ginger sauce, I've had better from my local chinese place. It was a nice switch up from some lame soy sauce tho. The chicken and pork appear to be similarly seasoned as I didn't taste much difference. The kimchi, however, is full of flavor. It's well-seasoned and is just the right amount of spicy. Can't forget to mention their sauce! "Sauce the Gingery" is that perfect balance of sweet, spicy, and warm. You have the option of buying a two pound bag of frozen dumplings to be enjoyed at home. And after tasting these dumplings, believe you'll be tempted to shell out another $14 for this two pound bag. They even sell a bottle of their sauce. I stumbled upon this spot by chance and boy am I glad I did! The place is small and has a limited menu, I assume due to Covid. They do sell frozen handmade dumplings with many different flavors: kimchi & beef, pork, leeks, shrimp to name a few and are priced to around $14-17 depending on flavor. They also sell their own sauce for $2.50 which is delicious and very well priced for what you get. The staff was extremely friendly and inviting. I ordered the kimchi steamed dumplings (which have beef added into it with kimchi) @ 12 dumplings for $9. They were fresh, steamy and delicious! And the spicy sauce it came with was amazing. I also got a bag of frozen pork dumplings to steam at home, but haven't had the chance to try it. I'm hoping it tastes as good as the kimchi ones since it is much pricier than store bought ones, but if they taste anything like the ones I just had I'd gladly pay the extra amount. So, if you are around here or not, I'd say go because it really is high quality food with friendly service to boot. read more

Best dumplings? Not quite, but very good and they make them there and freeze them so you can enjoy the goodness at home. A bag of dumplings will cost you more than at the Korean Market, but they are worth it IMO. My favorite is their Sauce the Gingery (yes that's what it's called). It's this amazing dumpling sauce made by them with garlic, ginger, soy, and other spices. SO good! I could literally drink that stuff. I always buy a bottle when I go (I think it's like $3). They also sell a BBQ marinade which is decent. My favorite dumplings are the beef and leek. I've tried their Soondubu and it's good, but lacking your usual Soondubu flavor. It's good once I add salt though, plus they give you rice and a ton of banchan (Korean sides - their Kimchi is on point). For $8 it's worth the convenience of being close to me and not having to drive to Fort Lee or Pal Park. Parking sucks, but so does parking for all business on or right off Palisade Ave. Writing this is making me want to go pick up some Soondubu for lunch. read more

I work at a restaurant nearby and wanted something simple and cheap for lunch. After reading the reviews I decided to try Best Dumplings out and ordered their fried veggie dumplings for pickup. I was not disappointed. The dough was delicate, not overly greasy and came with a nice hearty filling. Not only that, the ginger sauce was excellent. Tangy, slightly spicy with a hint of sweetness. My pet peeve is running out of sauce halfway through a meal, but thankfully they were generous and provided 2 large packets. I enjoyed the sauce so much that I would consider buying a bottle of it. For only $8 including tax I got about a dozen yummy dumplings with bangin sauce and I was full til dinnertime. This is definitely more of a pickup/delivery place. The inside isn't much to look at and there's only two small tables available. But don't let that stop you! They offer free delivery with a $15 minimum.
