We stopped by this spot for decided to give it a try based on a sign that said the BEST Sicily food post. The sign got us! We ordered the Spinach and Mushroom Arancini and it was honesty quite yummy. We had it toasted and it was great on a cold day. They did warn us it was a bit of a wait to toast, but I felt like we waited for 10 minutes. Was it a 10 minute wait good when you're in a rush? After countless reels, I finally made my way to best Sicily. It's a cute, quaint little shop/restaurant located in FiDi. I walked in and was instantly reminded of all my best memories from living in Sicily- the art, the music, and last but certainly not least, all the paninis and chocolates. Unsure of what to get, I kept it simple with a pistacchio cookie and a blood orange soda. The pistacchio cookie was one of the best I've had. It was simple yet packed a powerful punch. You wouldn't think cookie and pistachio go together but let me tell you, they do and it works! The blood orange soda was delightful! I don't drink soda but was willing to try this! Blood orange isn't a common flavor and while I've had it in other things, I surely couldn't pass up the opportunity to have it again. The shop offers a lot of things for sale: Tshirts, chocolates, food, etc. There really is something for everyone. The man working told me the owner lives close by and is always going back and forth to Sicily bringing these back. I wish I had the stomach to try some of the pasta but I was still pretty full from my meal earlier. If you love all things Sicilian, you'll def love this, too! read more

Short walk from Staten Island ferry terminal. Shop is tucked away, you could walk past it. Everything looks so appetizing. Arancina was delicious although somewhat crunchy. Amazing family owned spot with the friendliest and hospitable staff. Amazing fresh crispy fluffy cornetto with the most delicious pistachio cream I've ever had. Gotta eat it on the spot otherwise it makes the cornetto soggy! (Still bussing though) The Italian hot chocolate was okay! The food lives up to the hype. It was one of the best olive oil pastries I've ever had and the ragu sauce in the baked pasta had plenty of umami. It's very tiny so if you're dining in you'll overhear everything and feel the draft every time the door opens. I would like to commend the amazing young folks who work in here because this little shop is the closest thing to Sicily. The store is quite small and square footage, however it packs a punch and has several imported items from Italy. Majority of the items in here for purchase don't even have English written on it, which makes me so happy. I ended up buying the espresso beans which I'm really excited for. One bag cost $20 which is just about the right size and cost in comparison to the other espresso that I normally buy. I got the brioche for lunch, which had mozzarella prosciutto and arugula in it and it was delicious. The bread was so soft and fresh. I genuinely knew I was going to have an amazing meal here. This tiny place is special. I am happy to say I enjoyed everything I tasted and look forward to returning. It brought me back to Sicily and that was wonderful. The meat arancini was the best I have had anywhere! Crisp on the outside and the filling was oh so flavorful. We then shared the Salemi Focaccia (grilled vegetables on focaccia that was toasted to perfection in olive oil). The vegetarian lasagna had an unexpectedly delicious cream sauce and was topped with pistachios, of course. The desserts looked amazing but we were so full the cookies were our only option. While delicious & beautiful some are small and expensive, but most exciting were the butter biscuits that reminded me of those that were a morning ritual while in Sicily. Even the espresso made the mark. I was told by the customers next to us we had to get the cannoli...next time, and there will be a next time, I assure you. The owner was not at the shop, but that did not make a difference in service or food quality. They were Informed & attentive. There was a non-stop stream of customers. It was the week between Christmas & New Year's and patrons ranged from tourists from around the world to residents. The selection of retail items included food, beverages, traditional pottery, textiles and the list goes on. It is a tiny place but lots for your eyes to explore. Now when I say tiny, I mean tiny, 3 duces next to each other, two small high tops and maybe 3 cafe tables outside. They did a brisk takeout and clearly offer delivery but I loved dining in. Best Sicily Bottega is a little Italian shop just south of Wall Street that is slinging crunchy paninis and delicious arancinis. Walk in around lunch rush and you'll likely find a short line of people waiting for their paninis to be warmed while the servers holler orders in Italian. Maybe you'll chat with an Italian patron as they wait for their afternoon espresso and olive oil cake. All I know for sure is, you should definitely go here. A took a trip to Fidi to sample Best Sicily Bottega. This was no easy task. If you are not familiar with the maze of streets in lower Manhattan you could be walking around for hours. I walked in a grabbed a Palermo sandwich, and a bottle of water. The Palermo was delicious. The Focaccia was a bit oily, but otherwise very good. Unbelieveable stuff. Great for a snack or lunch. This is one of the only places in the US that feels like you are actually in Italy. It's a shoe box of a location that somehow has some of the best, freshest, most flavorful bread and pastries you will ever find. The lunch sandwiches are incredible, mostly thanks to this amazing bread. But the stuff in between is great too. You can find tuna, eggplant, pork, etc, but the classic mozzarella, tomato, basil option was my fave. They have tons of fresh pastries to satisfy your sweet tooth, too. This is the coziest and most adorable little chunk of Sicily in the heart of the city. I always enjoy going on a walk sometime around lunch with my boyfriend during the weekends and stopping in to grab us some arancini which is AMAZING!!! Their hot cocoa is also that of childhood nostalgia and a cup on a cold day can really cure the blues. I was in the neighborhood to run some errands and needed a bite to eat, since I'd skipped breakfast. Doing some quick searching before I left, I found this spot and decided it would be my destination for an early lunch. I was greeted as I came in and quickly set my eyes on a small panini and an arancini, figuring this would be a good way to judge the place. Both were fresh and delicious, and tasted how they should - I only wish I'd had room and time for more, but hopefully I can come back soon. The shop is small and cute and relaxed, and I could see myself spending time some relaxed time here, possibly with a book or to meet a friend. I've had the zucchini pizza, mortadella panini (my absolute favorite thing so far) and the arancina Norma. Zucchini pizza was crispy and light and same with the focaccia for the mortadella panini which also had the perfect amount of mortadella and stracciatella . The arancini is huge and packed with eggplant, tomato sauce, mozzarella and rice. What makes this place stand out is the ingredients which you can tell are very high quality. The food didn't feel heavy or greasy as well. They also have great service and are super friendly!!
