I had a solo lunch in Eataly, after trying a snack on the World Trade Center plaza among the Smorgasburg vendors on a Friday. For less than what you would pay at their sitdown restaurant, I purchased a tagliatelle bolognese at the Pasta Shoppe where you order and pay at the window, take a seat at a table and wait for the buzzer letting you know your food is ready for pickup. I got pasta made to order, served on a real China plate, a flatware fork, with a side of nicely crusty bread. A cloth napkin is a nice and welcome touch. The pasta was al dente, with a reasonable portion of ground meat in the bolognese sauce. The addition of freshly shaved parmesan was nice. The turnaround time from ordering was fairly quick at less than ten minutes. No crowds on a summer afternoon. Overall, well worth the visit. read more

Overall, this location is good, but it isn't as captivating or as large as other Eataly locations I've visited in New York City, elsewhere in the U.S., and abroad. The staff were fine, but they weren't as friendly or helpful as the employees at other Eataly locations. Many of them looked like they didn't want to be there. I ordered a panini with mozzarella, meat, and mushrooms. The portion was generous enough to share. I had it warmed up, which made a big difference. I really enjoyed the panini and would definitely try a different one on my next visit. I also picked up a few products to take home, including pistachio spread and Italian toast biscuits that I used to eat for breakfast in Italy. The product selection was excellent, and they carried authentic Italian items that are difficult to find in the United States. Eataly also gets bonus points because they sell Natalie's Blood Orange Juice, which is so hard to find anywhere! We dined here for an early dinner after touring the 9/11 Memorial Museum. Our experience was a bit of a mixed bag. We got the focaccia, bolognese, and pasta carbonara with a cacio e pepe suppli. Eataly brands itself as an authentic Italian experience, but it tasted a little fast food-y compared to real authentic spots imo. The restaurant is nice, it has a good view overlooking the WTC area. Service though is also where I think this place falls a bit short. Our server wasn't very friendly in explaining the menu or giving recommendations, kind of gave the feeling that we should know the menu already and tried a bit too hard to seem like the food would be authentic and amazing. She also seemed to end her shift in the middle of our meal without telling us. All of a sudden we had no idea who our next waiter was, and things seemed a bit chaotic. After touring the 9/11 Memorial Museum we grabbed lunch here. The whole upper floor is the restaurant, so it can become a little overwhelming. At first you may think you have stepped into a small grocery store, but they have seating strategically placed in different alcoves. Before deciding what you would like or where you want to sit, take a walk around. They have pizza, ravioli, fresh pasta, gelato, and many other things you can grab in go. Great way to start the meal off. Flavor and a surprise in every bite. I had BEET RAVIOLIS for my main dish. Bright flavor. My niece had the ALFREDO. I could eat at Eataly every day if I could. I've already been twice in the past week. I recently tried the Short Hills location, and while the ambiance and crowd were great, the pasta didn't really do it for me. It wasn't as soft or flavorful as I expected. I usually go to the FiDi location, but this one is definitely my favorite. It's closer to the city for me, and it's low key, cozy, and just a really chill vibe. It's honestly my little escape when I want to unwind and just be in my own world. They're currently offering Restaurant Week specials, an appetizer and a main for $26, which is such a good deal. First time trying food at Eataly. I thought Eataly was merely a restaurant, not a grocery store and food court. Tried the Tagliatelle alla Bolognese at the homemade pasta bar and it was bomb!! Needed some peppery seasoning so I asked for pepper packets on the side and it made the dish even more fantastic. Perfection portion for the price. Also, shared like a chocolate chip vanilla gelato with a family member and it was alright... definitely not some of the best gelato I've tried, I've had better. Stopped by Eataly Downtown with a friend after seeing an exhibition at the Perelman Arts Center, and it was a great post-show treat. We went to the café area, which has a great selection of desserts, gelato, and coffee. We went on a weekend evening it was not very crowded, so it was a good spot for conversation and a treat We both ordered hot beverages. I had a mocha almond milk latte and my friend ordered a matcha latte (each around $7), and we split two desserts. Both were fantastic. The pistachio tiramisu ($10+) was especially memorable. I have never had a version like this before. It is made with a rice flour sponge cake, making it gluten free, and it was sweet without being overwhelming. The homemade cannoli ($6.90) was also excellent and filled to order right in front of us with sweet sheep's milk ricotta. After visiting the 911 museum, we were looking for a spot for a late lunch. There was a nearby bar that we were hoping to get into but when we wandered over, they said the weight was going to be 45 minutes. Our group of five was already tutoring on the edge of Hangry and decided we needed something sooner. We made our way over to Italy as we figured they would have plenty of options and we were not wrong. We originally checked out the restaurant, but decided that that wasn't the vibe we were going for and decided to just eat in the food hall area.This was great as our party got pizzas and pasta from different spots. All of the food was delicious. We sat in the back area past the gelato spit and coffee bar which was perfect because the water station was there and we were thirsty! We obviously couldn't leave without trying a dessert - it was hard choosing between a gelato or tiramisu. Had a long overdue lunch with a former work mate this past week. She made reservations online (I believe via opentable) for pasta e pizza. We were seated by the expanse of windows looking out at the world trade. We had the prefixe lunch special and a glass of wine each. Started with the zucchini friti and the rice balls. No more vermentino on the wine list. Service was very good. We both had pasta for mains, it was either pastas or salads as part of the pre fixe. We sat for a while catching up and we were not rushed, in fact the hostess offered to take our picture for us. Bathrooms are located around the corner from the restaurant area. After lunch I bought some peace offerings for my better half; bread, cheese, and pâté. This iteration of Eataly is much easier to get to for me and its smaller and more manageable. Loved my time at Eataly today. I need to come back. From the ambiance, the service, the food and the overall experience - it was such a nice treat. I loved the pizza that we tried, shared two and it hit the spot. They're personal pizzas that LOOK big, but the crust is thin so you'll really inhale it very easily and fast (especially if you're hungry and have walked around throughout the city a lot.) The marketplace is full of amazing food and cheese, meats and seafood bars. You can't buy any of the outside food in the market and bring it in the sit down area, so you need to order food where you're sitting. The service was also so good, phenomenal. This place is amazing!! They have so many creative dishes. I love the variety. They will be opening in Aventura Mall in Florida sometime in 2025. I can't wait! I wanted to try the lasagna pizza as recommended to me by Kareem T. Unfortunately, they were out of it when I was there. That sounded really good. I ended up with a salmon and cream cheese sandwich and it was very good. They have pastas and sauces and cookies and the list goes on from all around Italy. The fresh produce looks better than ANY supermarket I have been to. I love the nice and classy bar when you walk in. They have a nice restaurant but the problem is, they get very crowded, even early in the day. I was there right before the major holidays in December. I imagine it is busy all year because of the high quality of the food. They have $16 pints of gelato. $14 big slices of pizza. This place is open later than the food places in the World Trade Center shopping center. The Food Hall has a variety of Italian specialties,including a gelato shop and pastry shop. The pasta bar is surprisingly good with a variety: I had a pasta linguine with mussels and my daughter had a bolognese that was rather substantial. This restaurant is located right above the subway station at the WTC. It was convenient to jump back on the train to get back to our hotel in Cobble Hill, Brooklyn. read more

Eataly is one of those spots that I think of when I think of New York. It's just so fun to wander around and see all of these beautiful imported foods. On this such occasion, I bolted straight for the gelato counter. I loved seeing all of the different flavors and went with an orange blossom Type of flavor.
