I had an Amalfi spritz that was refreshing and delicious. Our table started with the bruschetta, the perfect blend of tomato, garlic and basil, all on a garlic crostini. We had both a dine-in and takeout breakfasts from Felice 15 Gold, an Italian restaurant located on street level of Gild Hall, a Thompson hotel by Hyatt in the Financial District. The food was good, but service could've been better. Nice boutique atmosphere. This restaurant is part of the Felice upscale restaurant chain which has 11 locations in New York (mostly in Manhattan) and two in Florida (Miami and West Palm Beach). This location is named after its address: 15 Gold St in Lower Manhattan. We found out about Felice 15 Gold because we stayed at Gild Hall this past weekend. Each night of our stay came with vouchers for complimentary breakfasts at Felice 15 Gold: Monday-Friday, 7:30am-11:00am and Saturday-Sunday, 8:00am-11:30am. Each voucher was "redeemable for: American Breakfast, Yogurt Parfait, Crostone con Avocado, Felice Oatmeal, French Toast or Frutta Fresca only; served with Orange Juice and Brewed Coffee or Tea." The serving sizes for the voucher versions of breakfast are smaller than the serving sizes of breakfast ordered from the regular menu. Using vouchers, my wife and I had the following: * Crostone con Avocado - chopped avocado, poached eggs, toasted bread, pepperoncino, lime zest * Felice Oatmeal - warm organic oats, fresh blueberries, honey Both items were delicious. My wife liked that the Crostone con Avocado came with two eggs. There was a generous amount of avocado and it was fresh. This dish is essentially avocado toast. According to the regular menu, the non-voucher version also comes with roasted potatoes and mixed greens. I really enjoyed the Felice Oatmeal. I've eaten a lot of oatmeal in my life and I thought the texture of Felice's oatmeal was pretty much perfect. It came with just the right amount of honey on the side and the blueberries were ripe, sweet, and not too tart. The bowl was filling and satisfying. One of our friends, who was also staying at this hotel, ordered the oatmeal too. She had the same opinion as me regarding its texture -- not too soggy and not too dry. She got hers with maple syrup instead of honey. My wife and I also ordered a side of bacon and breakfast to go and paid separately for it: * Bacon ($9) * American Breakfast ($21) - two eggs any style (I requested scrambled) with bacon, roasted potatoes, and toasted bread * Frutta Fresca ($16) - seasonal mixed fruits The bacon was good. Crispy and crunchy. I think there were four strips. Any less than that for $9 would've been a ripoff, so I'm glad they gave us at least four pieces. All components of the American Breakfast were quite tasty. I scarfed it down inside our room. The scrambled eggs were rich and flavorful. There was more of that yummy bacon. The potatoes weren't over-seasoned, which I appreciated. The bread came with butter, but the slices were so tasty on their own, they didn't need it. I think the bread was grilled instead of toasted. The Frutta Fresca consisted of honeydew, pineapple, cantaloupe, blueberries, red grapes, and strawberries. Aside from the grapes and blueberries, all of the fruit was cut into small, bite-size pieces. I often buy fruit bowls from Publix; the Felice fruit was cut smaller -- so there was a bit of a more delicate touch. As for the fruit quality itself, it was fresh and standard of a cut fruit bowl you'd get at a decent grocery store. Both the dine-in and takeout dishes were plated and presented beautifully. Dining in, they have nice dinnerware. The Crostone con Avocado was served on a floral-decorative plate. Felice's takeout containers have Felice-brand stickers on them, which I think is a nice, elevated touch. Consistent with the presentation, the restaurant interior is chic and stylish. There are two compact floors of seating with multiple bars and dining rooms. White tablecloths, button booths, rustic chandeliers, and an intimate wine bar/library vibe. There's a single unisex restroom upstairs. This is just speculation, but I think the staff treated the "paying" customers better than the hotel guests who were there for the "free" breakfasts. Also, I think they seated the hotel breakfast guests in the front bar area and the non-hotel, "paying" customers in the back. We were served coffee, but were never asked if we wanted cream. We had to flag down our server, who seemed quite busy, for cream. When we got the cream, it was a very small amount, so we had to ask for more. We also never got the OJ as printed on our vouchers. I wanted OJ, but it seemed like it would be a hassle to ask for it. So yeah, service wasn't the best. The staff was kind enough, though. Our to-go order was originally brought out as dine-in. They had to take our plates back to the kitchen and pack them up. Not a big deal. The breakfast plate was still delicious. We ended up not using some vouchers to try other breakfast options in the neighborhood. We had a $100 American Express credit/benefit for the items we paid for. My friend and I shared the Baked Eggplant for a starter which was a substantial portion for two as well as a delicious healthier choice. Yes, my craving called out to Fried Calamari but I am trying to be good and definitely recommend the Eggplant. It tasted something my family or myself would whip up. So flavorful and delicious, I would come back and order that anytime and they should think about adding it to the menu. - Spaghetti Arrabbiata was very good, fresh and great flavor. It could have used a little more salt and chili, which I hate to say because most of the negative reviews I read were because the food was too salty. They most have pulled way back as a result. A nice helping of parmesan and it was great. -The waiter picked out a great Italian blend wine for me. The service was exceptional, my water never got below a 1/3rd down, and my waiter Carlos was great. It was my birthday and we listed that in the Resy Reservation. Upon arrival we were greeted by very friendly hosts and hostesses whom all wished me a happy birthday. I felt so good with all of the recognition and attention. Our server was outstanding. He gave us plenty of time on the menu and offered several suggestions. I ordered of the Restaurant Week prefix. My hubby ordered off the standard menu. All courses came out with a lovely presentation and were outstanding. To start, the bread is out of this world. The perfect crust, temperature and taste. mmm.. I'd recommend skipping brunch and just going for lunch or dinner. If I were just rating on the dinner experience, I would've rated it a 5. Impeccable service, delicious food, and great ambiance. The Crostone Ricotta (fresh ricotta, Italian linden spicy honey, figs, and sliced almonds on top of fresh bread) is an absolute must! I had the lasagna (made with spinach pasta and veal ragù) as my main, and it also didn't disappoint! The baked cauliflower side (cauliflower, paprika, capers, hazelnuts, raisins) was also on point. As common in the area, the meals were on the pricier side (bill total was about $100 for 2 entrees, an app, and a side), but it was worth it. Breakfast, on the other hand, was very slow service and unimpressive. The Good: The place is clean, the ambiance is nice, the staff are nice, friendly & attentive. The happy hour calamari is quite good & a great value. The Bad: There are SERIOUS quality control issues with the food. I was a guest at the hotel so I went several times. For the breakfast, the French toast was cooked so long it was inedible & burnt. The other breakfast offerings were acceptable though. The food is safe & clean, but is not cooked or flavored well. For dinner, I had 2 pastas, the Tonnarelli Cacio E Pepe & the Papparadelle with sausage that were some of the most recommended and it was EXTREMELY clear the chef is not tasting what they're cooking. Both dishes were EXTREMELY over salted to an INSANE degree. I had a forkful , thought maybe I just had a bad bite and that the salt hadn't been stirred in right. But no, both dishes were extremely over salted. They did remake the dish upon request, BUT the remade dishes were just so salty AGAIN. But at least this time ONE of the dishes was very salty, but still within an edible range. I drank 8 glasses of water within 30 minutes to deal with it though. The other dish was not edible still, so very salty. And I'm not a difficult client. This was the FIRST time I have sent dishes back, EVER in my life. The other people with me also agreed everything was EXTREMELY over salted and they had tasted the REDONE dishes. I think these mistakes occurred bec the dish ingredients feature cheeses & sausages that are ALREADY salted , so adding more salt on top of that is a MASSIVE overkill. PLEASE start tasting the food, sauces as you make it. The restaurant wasn't busy at the times I went so there isn't really an excuse for this lack of quality control. Also as for the decor, the exposed bulbs on the wall, behind the diner's head, they look cool but are very unsafe. My sister brushed her hand against an exposed bulb for a millisecond as she took off her jacket and it burned her hand, blistering the skin. If they want bulbs at that level, they should be lower temp. The bulbs are malfunctioning or are inappropriate for that location, they are turning black from the extreme heat they get too. read more

I ordered the Tonarelli Cacio E Pepe and it was ok. I've had Cacio E Pepe before from other places, but I wasn't a huge fan of the flavor of this one. This is a beautiful restaurant with a solid menu. The menu is approachable for most with good food. Portions are generous. Felice has a large wine list and a nice cocktail selection. The eggplant app was delicious, and my chicken entree was generous. What I loved about Felice was the service. Server was honest about which dishes he thought were best and he absolutely did not rush our order. We were able to sit for two and a half hours and just enjoy our time. The ambiance of the location inspired me to go grab a meal ALONE without colleagues cause I'm a foodie and didn't want anyone to interrupt my dining and make me moody. So I dined outside in this quaint little wooden box like structure which has apparently become an NY COVID-19 staple? (They ask for vaccination card to dine inside- a Yelper like me is Bonaire certified vaccinated so anti vaxers stay outside) The food was delectable.
