I bought my bathroom tiles at Best Tile. I read all the reviews before buying them and mad sure what I really needed. I found the style and color I wanted at a reasonable price (not the cheapest). I had some left over and they accepted back with a store credit. I used the store credit to get the counter top. I would go back again if I redo another bathroom, but I would recommend people to study hard before they purchase it at Best Tile. Make sure you know exactly what you want. read more

Nothing fancy about this place. However, there is an excellent variety of tile and stone displays and vignettes that show how the tiles look in various real-life situations. The prices are reasonable and you can buy "samples" to take home. I bought beautiful stone mosaic tiles here 6 years ago when I remodeled my bathroom...and I love them. Wonder what they consider "Best" because it definitely isn't "best" price or "best" customer service. I was charged $10 per foot for bull-nosing when the company next door charges $6. When told to Best Tile, they said I should have shopped around. Wow - what a great advice. Make sure you shop around before you buy from them because their prices are not competitive. When a few pieces of the cut tiles did not turn out as I had hoped, I asked for them to be redone. Not terribly unreasonable considering that I paid 40% more for this work. But to my surprise, this request infuriated the manager to the point where she was yelling at me to not to talk to her and that she didn't want my business. What an example she is setting for her staff. No wonder there are so many reviews on their poor customer service. If the manager can behave like this, then how can you expect her to lead others to behave differently. read more

Very cheap granite counters! I bought tiles and two 8 foot kitchen granite counter slabs. I think each slab was $175 but I could be wrong, it was a while ago. All I know is it was a good deal. Some counters are more than others. The ones I bought were green with a square edge (which is more contemporary than the boring rounded edge). Tiles were a good deal as well. Selection of items is not that great. I'd recommend Import Tile in Berkeley if you want a larger selection. Also, if you are concerned about the language barrier I suggest seeking out the younger salesfolks as their english is more proficient. read more

The selection at Best Tile is far greater than anything you'll find at Home Depot, Lowes or the like. Prices are comparable, if not better, too. Quality seems to be on par with items purchased at a big box store but only time will tell. Some people say the service is horrible and that the employees are rude. I'd say it's a difference in culture. I actually appreciate the fact that the staff will leave you alone unless you ask for help. Orders are retrieved in good time and the staff will load your purchase into your vehicle. Be sure you make your selections carefully--there's a 25% restocking fee if you change your mind. read more

It is a warehouse, with mountains of tile stocked outside the building. There are large tile board displays, not just mounds of tile, inside the building. I bought a vanity cabinet and sink here. The quality of the products were very good and the price highly competitive. The sales people on the floor (the younger ones) do speak english, but the older folks behind the counter might not. They also carry some faucets and fixtures, with decent build quality, but "unbranded". It reminds of shops you see in Asia where you can buy merchandise made by the same factory as a more famous brand, but in "white box" packaging. Make sure you go to the other rooms and wander in back, there are more sinks, vanities, and stone tops. The tile selection is large. There is a large selection of Italian and Spanish tile, which can have a very European styling that might look dated to in the US. Quality and pricing can be a mixed bag (just average prices on some glass tile but very good on some floor tile). But there are plenty of contemporary styles and a well-priced collection of good quality stone tile. They will open the box and let you inspect the merchandise before they load it. Then you sign off. Returns are with a 25% restocking fee, or 100% as a store credit. read more

Good: Large selection of variety of stuff. Prices are reasonably okay. Bad: Very strict when it comes to Money. You can pretty much tell that there is no negotiation and no discount whatsoever, which is rare for Chinese store. We tried to buy some taken-out-of-box item that even has certain small defects and asked for like little discount for taking it, and they still said no. Fine, it might be their policy, but the bad thing was that they even refuse to give us refund on some tiles that we were trying to return. They didn't mention to us on what can be returned and what can't, until we brought them back. read more

I bought slate tiles for my entryway at this place and my folks bought a basic, yet interesting sink here. On the plus side, the tiles were immediately available, sturdy, cheap and of interesting color. I've had to wait a good long time ordering different batches of tile for other projects when I bought them online from another source. On the negative side, they were a bit unsquare and varied a bit in thickness. I think the staff is more used to working with contractors so they expect you to know what you want. I went to Best Tile at least 7-8 times before I really give them business. Their staffs are not the agressive type, but when I have questions, they always explain to me very well. I just bought a new house and have 3 bathrooms just done. I am a first time house owner and have no idea of remodeling a house. I went to a lot of different stores to check the prices and differentstyle of tiles. I really like the tiles they have there. The chinese lady Ms Wong help me to calculate the tiles that I needed and the total of price within my limited budget. She helped me to mix and match with the tiles and gave me some ideas.... I read some negative old comments about her, I really think it might be just a language barrier? Personally, I do speak in Cantonese and she was being really polite and informative to me! There were also a very helpful hispanic guy there help me to carry the heavy tiles and put them together for mathcing, too! With my contractor's comment, the quality of tiles I bought were pretty good! The only disadvantage was there were a few pieces of tiles left after we've done the bathrooms, but there were only 30 days allowing for return and I went over it! It was about $70 of tiles! I understand it is very hard to calculate exactly the same, but if it will be best if I can still take it back within 3 months, it will be much better. I am overall happy with my bathrooms and I have a lot of good feedback from friends and neighbors. I have a few friends just bought or planning to buy their first home, too! Haven't actually ordered anything from here yet, but we came to look at their inventory. Wish they closed later because we didn't have enough time to look at everything. A large amount of variety in tile. I was most surprised by the exceptional service since I read some reviews prior to coming here. When we asked to see a certain tile, they actually took out several pieces for us to look at and even arranged them on the floor to give us different ideas. I wish I could give them no star & I think Best Tile should be called Bad Tile! My mom & I bought some wall & floor tiles from them about 2 months ago. We gave the owner, I think she's called Mrs. Wong, the drawings & she helped us to calculate how many pieces we needed. We didn't check every piece when we picked them up since we bought a lot. By the time we got home, we noticed some marble wall tiles we bought had some cracks & were not in good condition. My mom & I went back there yesterday hoping to return some of the bad tiles & the ones not used. We stepped into the store. Surprisingly, an angry customer in front of us was trying to return her tiles & arguing with the owner. They didn't let her & she left telling the other customers not to buy from them. Then it was our turn. First we talked to a young shop assistant. He came to my car to check the tiles but he said the marble are natural stones & they're supposed to look like that! Before we finished our conversation, he just simply walked away. My mom was really really angry. Then I walked back & tried to find another shop assistant. He hesitated to walk to my car. Finally we talked to the owner Mrs. Wong. She refused to refund for the marble & other unused tiles. She overestimated 40% of the tiles we actually needed. If you really want to buy from them, know their return policy & if possible, check all tiles you buy. They mixed the good tiles & bad ones together in a box. read more

Overall, I think Best Tile is really for contractors. I got really lost when I got there. There were not many people to help you to explain to you what the process is at the store. I found that Best Tile is good for cheap older-style tile (including the vanities and kitchen cabinets), so if you are looking for more of a contemporary look (which was my hope), then you won't find it at Best Tile. I did notice that the pre-slab granite were really cheap, so I'll probably go back here for my kitchen countertop. read more

My husband and I recently renovated 2 1/2 bathrooms at our new home and came to Best Tile for our tiling/vanity needs. They have a wide selection of beautiful tile at very fair prices. They have some cheaper quality stuff and also lots of higher quality items to choose from. We also purchased 3 bath vanity cabinets and sinks from Best Tile as well. Initially, we thought we might go to East Star, since we bought our kitchen cabinets there (which were solid wood) but the majority of East Star's bath vanities are particle board with cheesy veneers on them. So yes, they're bath vanities cost more than East Star's, but they are solid wood and higher quality. Still much cheaper than a comparable product at many other big name places. Best Tile had a huge selection of solid wood bath cabinets and many, many countertops to choose from. They make you inspect every box of supplies or cabinet you purchase before you leave, which I found helpful since I didn't want to walk away with a non-returnable marble vanity top with scratches on it. The customer service we received from Hector was fantastic and he made sure the other employees loaded everything into my vehicle with care and safety. The tile we bought from them is so beautiful in our master bath and the vanities also look amazing! read more

Needed some tile quickly and went to Best Tile. Everything in their showroom (which is a huge amount) is in stock. I was in the store less than 5 minutes when I was approached for assistance. The person spent 20 minutes helping me find the right tile. The check out process is super organized. They go thru every box of tile to make sure it isn't broken, then put it in your car for you. I was recommended by a friend to this place when my house needed to remodel back in 2009. It was a very hard time because I have no idea what I want in my mind. I had no cruel how much to cost for my two bathrooms because tiles can cost from 50cents to 10+ dollars a piece or feet. First time I went there, I was just browsing and comparing prices and products from different stores. The staff was helpful and gave me ideas within my budget. However, I did not buy anything yet. The second time, I went in there with my brother and the same staff and also Ms Wong was still very nice, helpful and knowledgeable. They gave us some mix and match ideas to make our bathrooms modern. We've finally bought some tiles made in Italy. I think their tiles are in good quality because our bathrooms still look like brand new remodeled even tough everyday used since 2009. I wish I read all reviews before my purchase. Too bad I bought the bathroom cabinet and found that the piping does not properly fit. I returned it in perfect condition and the store assistant accepted, I guess the final decision need to make by the boss. Guess what.. She refused my return with the excuse I scratched the cabinet!!! Their tile selection and quality is good, but their cabinets are not. Do not think you are getting a great deal buying their cabinets compared to other stores. It is not worth it. The side panel of one of my cabinets was already pulling away from the cabinet after a few weeks. We also had issues with the crown molding edge where we had to return it back to the store. And for some reason, not all the cabinets have the soft close. If I could redo the cabinets, I totally would. read more

Worst Tile. Not best tile. Buyer beware some stuff is nonreturnable. They also screwed me with bull nose tile, not all of it was the same shade of white. they do have a good assortment of spacers and little wedges that you will not find at Homedepo. I did buy from them some tools you can not find around here. I would not buy a tile saw from them. Bottom line, NEVER AGAIN will I buy tile from them. read more

Customer service was superb. I am located about two hours from the store, but my contractor told me about a piece of trim he found there that we couldn't find anywhere around here but really needed. (This says a lot for their selection too.) I contacted them to see if they would help us at all (since I couldn't travel there midweek), and they were incredibly helpful! Since I was not at the store to see the product in person, they measured it and remeasured it for me down to the millimeter from different angles and Phillip even emailed me pictures of it more than once to ensure that we were talking about the same product and so that my contractor could see the measurements with the measuring tape for himself. Let's just say we were on the phone a lot for a relatively small sale, but they still treated me like a VIP customer that does big business there. Phillip called me back promptly every time and kept me well informed by phone and email, which was huge since I was on a deadline too. In case this sounds like an isolated incident with one helpful employee, Jason took my call once when Phillip wasn't available and was equally kind and helpful. I was truly blown away by this place. My contractor said that I must be driving them crazy with all my calls and requests (and I would agree) but if I was, they never once showed it. Both were beyond patient and more than willing to accommodate every question or request I had without ever making me feel like a bother. I had initially called crossing my fingers that anyone would help me at all from so far away... but from start to finish, I was completely blown away by Phillip's attention to detail, willingness to think outside the box for my situation and endless patience/kindness throughout the process that lasted a few days--all for some trim. It was really like calling in a favor to a friend, except he didn't know me. In the end, Phillip found a way to get me the product (which my contractor said they couldn't do) and totally kept my kitchen remodel on deadline with exactly what I needed. It was one of the best customer service experiences I have ever had. Ask for Phillip if you need anything.
