Stopped in for lunch on a weekend...this is one of a handful of restaurants in the Bethany area. The food is here is slightly above average but not exceptional...and the menu prices are high. I had the lunch special of 1/2 sandwich and soup...soup was actually very good but the sandwich lacked any flavor sensation. It still ended up costing $15...which seems high for a cup of soup and 1/2 turkey sandwich. We had a reservation for a specific date and time. When we came in we were told that two ladies sat at our reserved spot. We were then given a table towards the back. Okay! A child's grilled cheese sandwich with a side of mandarin oranges came out to $9.00. A side of fries, which was really a small order came out to $8.00. When the waitress was asked she said it was $6.00. No big deal. The fish and chips I ordered was from the lunch menu. It was $15.00. My only complaint is the coleslaw was stale. The fish, and fries were good. Deducted points because the server didn't come to refill water. She also made it hard to split the bill. She said parties or table groups can only have one bill. Since not everyone had cash on hand. She made it difficult to pay with a card. She eventually split it into three checks, but you can tell she wasn't happy about it. Given they weren't busy at all. My family and i recently dined at the Bethany Public House. The staff was great, very enjoyable. The food is awful! Zero taste and poor quality. We all agreed that it tasted like "school" cafeteria food. The management is even worst; rude and unwelcoming. In addition, the food is very expensive. This was the first and last time trying this place. I do not recommend. I hope that they get bought out with a owner that cares about the food and community that lives near by. Myself & four neighbors came here Saturday evening at 5:30. We all stopped coming a few years ago because of mediocre food & high prices. We wanted to see how the new ownership had improved the restaurant. We all live close by and want to see this restaurant thrive. The food was a 6/10 - edible but nothing special. The waitress was good and attentive. The young man that brought our food acted like he didn't hear me ask for ranch. I say "acted" because based on his slow gait and slight pause at my question, indicates a good chance that he heard, and ignored me. The mozzarella sticks were nothing special, on par with Costco air fried mozzarella sticks. I got the Thai peanut wings. They were pretty horrible. Solid Meh all around. I had an overpriced, over breaded, over cooked yet under-sauced "buffalo chicken" sandwich for $17. The meat was so small they must be cutting 3 sandwiches per breast at the least. It was more breading than meat and so overcooked parts were not worth the effort of chewing. This place has very limited parking in their private lot. You will to park at other lots or find street parking. Pretty good beer selection. This location has free trivia night on Tuesdays at 7pm. You must order at least $10 and pay 20% gratuity. I feel like most people do this anyway. The food and service is great so why not spend $10 and tip well. Came here based on the Yelp reviews and the fact I was craving some wings. Unfortunately, they no longer serve wings. The server informed me they were redoing the menu and several things were changing; which included the wings. A little disappointed, but guess I didn't need them anyway. Server was Julian and he did an excellent job making recommendations and taking care of my needs throughout the meal. I settled on the chicken tenders for an appetizer (had to get my chicken fix) and the cod fish and chips. The tenders were cooked to a crispy golden brown and were juicy to the bite. I would highly recommend. As good as the tenders were, the fish and chips were even better. The fillets were a nice size and the fish was white and flaky as it should be. The outside was cooked to a crispy golden brown and gave the fish an extra flavor when biting into it. The fries were an afterthought as the fish was my main focus, but they were very good as well. A few words about this place, to start it took over an hour just for our food to come out and it wasn't even that busy. And on top of that my southwest chicken salad didn't have enough dressing so I had asked for more. And now as I was in the middle of eating, my salad is beyond disgusting look at the dead slimey lettuce. I COMPLETELY LOST MY APPETITE!. Apparently the owners switched around May of 2024. This used to be our go to place because we could sit outside on the patio with our dog and the staff would often even give our dog a treat and bowl of water. Today, we brought friends in with us and we both had our dogs. However, they said it was too cold to serve us outside (sunny and 48 degrees). They have heaters out there and we've eaten outside several times over the years even during the winter. But today it seemed they were simply too lazy to serve us outside and merely offered for us to come in and order drinks to enjoy on the patio, but that they wouldn't let us order food unless we sat inside. This was extremely upsetting and we decided to take our service elsewhere. I have seen this place so many times for so many years, and yet, this is the first time that I have eaten here. With the pandemic, I did take out although there were some seatings outside. I had their seafood pasta and would highly recommend it again. Their seafood pasta contained squid ink noodles, crabs, scallop, and tomatoes. It was absolutely amazing. The last few times we have eaten here it's been a little lackluster. Paid around $20 for the pesto pizza, and I feel like I could've made a better one at home. The tomatoes were not cooked on the pizza but seemed like they were thrown on there last minute because they just fell off whenever I lifted up a piece. It also did not have much flavor for some reason. My husband got one of the chicken sandwiches, and the chicken was very dry and did not have any seasoning on it. Bethany Public House is now serving breakfast on the weekends from 9-12. This is good because there is a lack of brunch choices in my neighborhood. I do not like Biscuits, Golden Valley Brewery stopped doing brunch unless it is a holiday, and sometimes the Meating Place (the default go to) is closed. Today, Easter Sunday, I dragged in a dining companion at 9am.That is a little early for me but I did not know how crowded it would be. The menu has a few choices. I would love a couple more scrambled egg offerings to choose from ( Denver? spinach, feta, and mushroom? salmon? fajita?) but I settled for good old bacon and eggs. My eggs were pleasantly fluffy and everything else was done right. The plate was warm. I love that. My coffee was good. That is huge. Dining companion ordered a Public House omelet. It was more like a fritatta with ingredients mixed into the eggs instead of inside an egg envelope. It had brown crispy edges and he felt it was overcooked but tasted nice.This is why he thinks breakfast was a strong 4. He also thought $3 for coffee was high. I think he is just old. Things cost more now. Our server Alex was personable and attentive. He gets a 5. This is a good local breakfast option. There are pancakes and french toast, a fried rice with egg and sausage, and egg benedicts available as well as $5 mimosas. When the weather is a little nicer there's sweet outdoor seating.
