Pretty sad that I'm writing this review, as I have never given a bad review before. I have been here multiple times over the past couple of years. Usually I take items that only need the hem done but this time, I took my bridal shower dress to get altered from the top. When I first took my dress and tried it on for them to look at it and make their marks on what they needed to adjust everything was fine and they said that they could do it. I went back a week later to pick it up, and when I tried it on it seemed like the part I had emphasized and wanted adjusted was barely altered. I let Silvia know and she went ahead and took it back to adjust it some more for me. 5 minutes later she finished she asked me to try it on and see how it fit again. I did and it still needed more adjustment to fit perfectly. At this point I felt really bad asking her to fix it some more however since this was a dress for my bridal shower it was super important to me. I then asked her if she could adjust it a little bit more and she straight out told me no. I would have understood more if the reason she said no was because they physically could not alter it more but, Her reason was that she didn't think it would look good. At this point I was confused why she even had me try it on again and didn't preface that she wouldn't alter it any more. So now I am stuck with a dress that doesn't fit me properly and out of the money I paid for their service. When I went back into the dressing room to get back into my clothes, I heard her and the other ladies talking about me in Spanish. Little do they know I am fluent in Spanish and understood them. A tailor is meant to adjust clothes to fit one's body, and in this case I do not feel like I received that customer service for this dress to fit me the way it should. The saddest part of this all is that I am a wedding planner and I often refer my brides and my grooms to her. I am saddened to know that my couples could have received similar service. I was going to take my own wedding dress there as well but now that is out of the question. read more

They almost lost $100 worth of brand new clothes... Dropped off pants and a dress for Coachella on Fri April 7th and was told it would be ready April 18th at 12:30pm. I called on April 17th to see if they were ready early and was told it wouldn't be ready until the 18th, no prob. I come in at 4:30pm today and after 15 min was told my clothes couldn't be found and there was a possibility they hadn't even begun working on them....10 minutes later they found my clothes and said they had been "misplaced" so they were not worked on. They told me I could wait 20 min for them to finish it today or come back tomorrow. I waited and came back at 5:45 and the clothes were done. They clothes were fine. I really wanted to like this place because my housemate has dropped off multiple things and never had any issues but I won't be returning. read more

Updated 7/22/2020: Another year, another event, another alteration done by Sylvia! Again, I cannot thank her enough for all the work she's done for me. Last week, I needed a last minute alteration on a dress I was wearing to a wedding. I got it hemmed and also the waist line tightened (even though I ordered a small). She got it done for me in 3 days turn around time. It was the perfect fit and I got a lot of compliments on the dress at the wedding. During COVID-19, I make sure to support small businesses and she has always accommodated me the best she can. They wear masks at their business and makes sure she provides social distancing and taking in customers one by one. I am so glad she was open during this time because it is a crazy time for businesses and support her being open for those who need work done. Thank you again for your work, every time! My wife had a skirt that the zipper broke on and was no longer usable. Brought it to better fit alterations and they did an amazing job. The zipper even made a small whole on the delicate fabric but when they replaced the zipper they were able to take it in slightly and the fabric is saved. On a side note, they love dogs. If you have a friendly furry friend then bring them with you. They saw us pull up with our dogs and met us in the parking lot to greet our pups. Co-signer is off guard until we realized she worked there lol. We will be back with some alterations now for sure. read more

Our family has been going to Silvia for a few years now and we are always incredibly happy with her work. Her prices and quality of work are unmatched! We came to her after we went to another tailor who tried to charge us almost $35 to hem a pair of jeans and did a mediocre job. Her prices are posted by the front door so there are no surprises when it comes to price. As she is fitting you, she gives you her opinions on what alterations should be done based on the garment and styling, but always goes with your preferences. She can do everything from basic pant hems to taking an off the rack suit and making it look bespoke. She is always friendly and professional. She moved to a new location in an office building which is a huge upgrade. The location can be a little tough to find, but if you pull into the lot from warner and go past the front of the building and around the corner to the right, the new location is tucked away right there on the first floor around the corner. You can see signs for tailoring in the windows. She also accepts cards now but there is a processing fee so cash is still king! Great quality and price, what more can you ask for? read more

I brought a dress into Silvia's and she was able to get it back to me in two days! I told her I only needed 1.5 inches taken off the bottom and she recommended I try on the dress for her to measure. I'm glad she did since it was closer to 3 inches. Two days later I came to pick up my dress and it was the perfect length, I couldn't even tell it had been altered until I tried it on. She maintained the flowy look of the multiple layers and cut them beautifully! Dress was only $34, they have a credit card charge so bring cash. This is an UPDATE to my previous Yelp there. After thinking about whole situation in my car, I decided to go back in and retrieve "any and all" my shorts...I just didn't FEEL ok about my what (and how) Silvia spoke to me. After telling Silvia how I felt and "just give me back all my shorts and I'll go someplace else..." Silvia apologized and convinced me to correct her mistakes, so I did. After some unnecessary discussion about how much she was charging me to WAIT longer for the finished product, I picked up 6 out of 7, one needs a serious adjustment. Silvia seems like she understands Customer Service now. If you DO go here, I'd advise you to WRITE OUT for your instructions so there is NO misunderstandings. Good luck!! P.S. terrible service, irresponsible with your clothes, zero urgency. decided to use this place because of the reviews, but was disappointed. dropped off my sweats here to get fixed. they said it'd be ready by 2PM Saturday. Arrived at 2:05. The place was crowded already and there was only one lady working the front so a line was starting to build already. I was at the front of the line. At 2:15 finally one of the workers/sewers in the back started to look for my pants. she was struggling to find it though. Ten minutes later, the main front desk lady was looking as well. She couldn't find my pants and they were struggling to find 1/2 of the another customers clothes as well. Meanwhile, the line is getting longer and many people waiting. the tipping point was when the workers and the front desk lady were all in the back giggling and laughing while there's over 10 people waiting in line. I was finally frustrated so I asked them if I needed to come back and she said yes. I asked them why they were laughing while there's customers waiting and not being helped. The lady said it's because she can't find my pants... no sorry, no sense of urgency. first and last time using this place. I needed to leave because I had an appointment which I was 25 minutes late for. I still need to go back to grab my sweats. Update- came back to grab my pants finally an hour later. and... there's another gentleman dealing with the same problem I had. he said he's been waiting for an hour (when I was there and complained). unbelievable. read more
