She looked at the dress and told me it was impossible to alter it (it was too small). I then spend the following days stressing and looking for a new wedding dress. I found a dress I didn't love, but I didn't have time for anything else. I took it to a different tailor, and he said he couldn't help me on such short notice. The location is beyond the check counter, so it's not all the way inside the super market. Silvia is extremely patient and kind. She took a look at a my dress and asked for me to try it on, so she can accurately measure what I need to get altered. I was super impressed that she stated that she's able to get the dress altered in 3 days for only $10.00. The pricing, of course, depends on what you needed done and for what I needed (dress taken in from the top and shorten the strings) done it was a good price for me. Silvia also took the time to explain to me when she's open, so that I won't miss getting my dress before New Year's Eve party. Located in an office park off of Baranca. A top notch seamstress with an eye for fashion. I got an old suit from my dad. It was somehow too big and too small in all the wrong places. The seamstress was able to open up the waist, taper the legs and fix the hem on the pants. She opened up the shoulders and lower back and tapered the sides to make the coat less boxy. I don't tend to throw around five-star reviews, but I have to give it up to Better Fit. I actually came in as a first time customer who had completely screwed off on getting a hem for a pair of pants for an event that was supposed to take place in two days! This was 100% my fault for not taking more initiative sooner. I came in, asked if I could pay extra for a rush job and she said could do it *without* needing to pay extra! What amazing service! (I did slip a 75% tip upon pickup, though) It was just a level of kindness so rarely seen lately. The work was very good for the price, so I immediately brought another item without a rush. My legs tend to be short, so discovering this alterations place is a godsend. Even for my lower-priced jeans, it's still worth it. Had only great experiences with Silvia and her team from the earlier part of 2024 and before then as well. However, I did notice a recent downturn in satisfactory customers possibly due to a newer lady working there? Maybe it's unrelated. But I hope things are still okay. They are always willing to remedy situations if needed. Of course it's an inconvenience though to come back. But overall I've been very pleased with the price and precision of the alterations and hemming for pants, suits, chiffon dresses, satin skirts, denim jeans, yoga pants and even dress pants that needed to be perfectly tailored to my body. We brought in a suit jacket and pants to get tailored. The suit jacket was tailored and the buttons sewed on but they didn't remove the white stitching on the sleeve or the jacket collar. I was able to remove it myself but I thought it was odd that they did a tailoring job in that area and they didn't bother to remove it. Otherwise, ok. read more

Silvia was so kind and helpful! I brought in a floor length bridesmaid dress on Monday and asked if she could expedite hemming it to knee-length by Friday, for an extra price. She said I wouldn't need to pay more, and that she would have it done in time for me. She was so understanding and friendly. It was $40 to hem, which I thought was fair. This unit is tucked away on the side, so you may got lost like me :) Parking is plentiful. They are cheap and fast, however they are so fast that the work is sloppy. If you are bringing in designer items I would choose another place they ruined my Versace and D&G dresses by leaving sloppy lines. I also noticed they cut corners on the blazers it doesn't sit or form nicely to the body when you move in it (only taking it in the back seam instead of all the seams). Even another customer had the same complaints as me. I did have them fix the sloppy seems and they will fix any issue you just need to point it out..... maybe I'm just use to my tailor making sure that all my items fit me properly and look good. This business is more about getting it to you fast. Defiantly if you need something done in a week go here but I won't take my clothes back. read more

I have to admit that I hate trying clothes on and some stores didn't have dressing rooms. As a result, I've purchased quite a few pairs of pants that are labeled the same size as those that fit me perfectly, but vary quite a bit in dimensions. Service , quality and value 2/5 I needed a new tailor because I moved. I chose this place because of the raving reviews. I dropped my bridesmaid dress off 7 days before needing it. When I showed up to get it they couldn't find it and it was just being started on the sewing table. They told me it was almost done. They said ten minutes I gave them 30 I came in and was sure to try it on. When I tried it on the take ins were uneven on each side, where they hemmed all the strings were hanging off and was not cleaned up and they also snagged my dress in the front where it was visible. They said they would fix it and to come back the next morning at 830. I showed up wasn't done and was working on it. It's now 45 minutes I've been waiting for it . They should have made it priority last night . Needless to say the search continues for a valuable tailor. The tailoring costs the same amount as the dress which I dont mind . read more

I don't write reviews often, but I had an extremely uncomfortable experience here and felt the need to share. I brought a dress to Better Fit Alterations to shorten the middle panel of the dress. When I tried to explain to Silvia what I would like done, she cut me off in a rude manner and said "It doesn't matter how we do it, it'll get done. Don't talk about the seams and stay still." I felt rather uneasy at this point, but I decided to try and see it through. Unfortunately, when I picked up the dress, it wasn't even close to what I had tried to convey I wanted. The lady at the front was nice and offered to do adjustments, but at this point, I was already extremely uncomfortable to be in the establishment after the initial treatment I received and I ultimately didn't trust that the dress could be altered the way I'd have liked here. I didn't want to cause any issues, so I paid $58 to essentially pick up the exact same dress I dropped off. If you want someone to decide how to alter your clothing without allowing you to provide any input, feel free to come here. Otherwise, I suggest going elsewhere. read more

Subpar quality. I drop my suit off I just bought off the rack. I was told to come back on Sunday at 12pm to pick up. Sounds great. Sunday, I come pick up at 12pm. I see my suit just sitting on the table. I can tell it's not ready yet. The owner tells me she is almost done but had to close yesterday for cinco de mayo blah blah blah. Fine, I'm a nice guy so I sit and wait. She takes another 15 minutes to finish. I try the pants on, sure the length was hemmed well, but the inside stitching is very shoddy. Stitch-work was no good and loose. See pictures below. I thought to myself, well ok, no one will look inside the under part of the pants. I can live with that. Then I try on the suit. Initially I knew there is an issue. The sleeve length is longer than I had requested, only by a little so I'm fine with that. But the MAJOR ERROR is that the left sleeve is literally inches and I mean INCHES longer. I want to see what the reaction is of the owner and so I ask her, "do you think the sleeves are long?" Rather than inspect, she immediately started defending herself saying "you requested them to be long, I told you to shorten remember?" I was not happy. She comes over and takes a better look, then takes a ruler out and measures and notices the error. One side is literally inches longer. She then states "wow yes, one side is longer, how did that happen?" Yes, how did that happen I wonder? She asks me to sit and wait and she will fix it. Now I appreciate her fixing her mistakes. What I don't appreciate is having to wait an hour to get something done when I was requested to pick it up and I came on time. That's not acceptable. I gave this lady my suit which I spent several hundred dollars on to do a simple hem and shorten sleeves. As a first time customer I was disappointed and lost confidence in her. She is clearly a nice lady but obviously overbooked and has bad time management. My suggestion is get more organized or hire an assistant . To make matters worse, the frozen groceries I bought at Costco melted as it sat in my car while I waited for an hour. An expensive alteration outcome. read more
