Im glad that I tried this place out as it had one of the best sandwiches in town! I had their Italian sandwich and am waiting for the next chance to go back there and try some of their other items or just may get the same thing again. There's something about their bread and the combination of ingredients that just makes it a wonderful sandwich. Parking in the area can be a challenge, but its well worth it.

Loved the portion and contents of this sandwich so much but the gluten-free bread was almost inedible. It's probably filled with potato and rice starch because it was degrading every time I took a bite and didn't like the taste either. I wish they had other gf bread options, I'm sure their regular bread is absolutely delicious

Love the location ~ off of Vancouver, cute outdoor courtyard to chill and eat your sandwich. Taste is good & fresh. The not so better half ~ despite 3 employees and no one else in the shop, the wait for our 2 sandwiches wasted most of the lunch hour at 25 minutes. The half-sized sandwich is priced very high $16, extra sauce $1 more, soft drink = $20 then add on the request for a tip. Expensive.

Best breakfast sandwiches I've ever had! I usually get the eat your veggies! And add bacon. For a lunch sandwich I typically get the chipotle chicken grinder. It is SOO GOOD! I go here almost weekly. The place is clean and the employees are very friendly! The prices are reasonable for the quality of food you're getting. Go you won't be disappointed

This food truck is amazing! The menu is two side-by-side lists: one is the sandwiches listed as meat versions, and the other is the same sandwiches listed as vegan versions. Breakfast sandwiches are served all day. Such creative sandwiches with the freshest and best ingredients. I highly recommend the one with broccolini. Honestly wish I lived in Portland so I could go here regularly. Huge portions and reasonable prices. Staff was super friendly and kind!

Not bad sandwiches or anything, but not special enough to want to come back. I had like a sriracha pork sandwich that was pretty tasty but a tad sweet but good with the cilantro sort of banh mi style. Ive also tried the vegan Italian, which wasn't too bad for a veggie sammie. They used the tofurkey style slices as the meat which I don't enjoy but the oil and vinegar, freshness of veggies and good bread still made it a decent sandwich. You order from iPads inside, and they also have vegan versions of all their regular sandwiches.

I came here while I was visiting family in Oregon. My cousin brought me here because she loves it. She said I'd love it too. And I did. Only downside is they didn't have their in house chips. But it's ok. I had the pork Banh mi. It almost looks like vegan meat lol it taste great. Not an authentic Banh mi. But still good. The bread was more of a ciabatta type. The pickled veggies made it a Banh mi. Service was good. Speedy and accurate for a party of 8. So shout out to the crew. That's it. Nothing much else to add. Keep up the good work

A place that serves sandwiches and doesn't have an upcharge for gluten-free bread?!?! Holy goodness. That is almost unheard of. I love that you can order at a kiosk and there are plenty of carnivore/veggie/vegan options. And gluten free, of course. Service was friendly and prices are decent. They are expanding their breakfast sandwiches to be served near Prost sometime soon, so I will definitely check that location out as well.

What a great new addition to the neighborhood! We tried the chopped salad, tomato soup, roasted turkey sandwich and italian sandwich. We loved the salad and soup, but the star was the sandwiches. I mean, wow! These sandos are the freaking best! The breakfast sandwich, add bacon *drool* In all realness, Better Half makes some really delicious sandwiches. They offer veggie/vegan alts for all of their meat options. The house-made chips, fries, hash-brown, cookies, and pickle spear are all great too! If you like a little spicy, add their chipotle mayo to your sandy. It is extremely difficult to stop myself from eating there every day. The owners/staff are so so sweet. They will make the appropriate accommodations to any dietary restriction you might have. They even run your order out to you when it's ready. 10/10 would recommend! read more

A wonderful little gem of a sandwich shop. I've tried both the roasted turkey and the spicy sriracha pork. Each sandwich has a vegan counterpart. Fresh ingredients and nice selection of sides (homemade chips are tasty) and beverages. Right now they are takeout only, but there is a nice shady courtyard for outdoor dining. So glad to have this lovely sandwich option in my neighborhood! read more

I wanted to like this place, but was sorely disappointed in the sandwich I got. I ordered a blackened chicken salad sandwich. There was so much lettuce on the sandwich and barely any chicken. Among the few pieces of chicken I received there were 4 or 5 pieces that were grizzle and fat and impossible to chew or eat. I wish I could say that I was able to taste the chicken salad, but that would be a lie. There was so much of everything else except the protein. Thankfully there are so many other quality sandwich shops in Portland where I will be spending my money, i.e. Taste Tickler. Certainly this was a one and done, never to repeat this experience. I came in right before they closed and I still received great service! Tried the breakfast sandwich with a hashbrown INSIDE. It was a absolutely delicious. I'm not kidding. Like top 3 in Portland for me so far. I can't wait to continue coming back here. Outdoor dining was clean and convenient. Great food, service, and VEGAN OPTIONS. Might I add they have a vegan option for almost every meat item, AND they aren't more expensive just because they're vegan...what a concept! I DEEPLY respect this concept. Never change. Have had half the sandwiches, repeatedly, and they have always been great. The chips are delicious, and that every sandwich comes with the pickle and chips makes it a pretty fantastic deal within the Portland sandwich scene. The vegan/vegetarian options are delicious, even for omnivores. read more

I happened upon this place when I was wandering N Williams killing time before an appointment and I'm so glad I did. I got a delicious gluten free breakfast sandwich that was on an unbelievable roll. I checked that it said gf on the package multiple times haha. Always happy to see a new place where I can bring my vegan friends and eat veg or not and gluten free. read more

We stopped to pick up a couple breakfast sandwiches and are so glad we did. Got the egg and cheese with chipotle and the broccoli cheddar egg and they were both delicious! The sourdough rolls are just so perfect and the ingredients and proportions are exactly right. Yum! read more

I've been on a wild sandwich hunt, ordering takeout from a range of sandwich joints during these COVID times. Sadly I've been pretty disappointed (I'll keep the names to myself since they're local sandwich spots that seem to have quite the fanbase despite my unimportant opinion) ... up until now. Thank you Better Half, for getting creative with your sandwiches and still bringing a full dose of the savory goodness I was craving. Although not vegetarian, I ordered the tempe/broccoli sandwich made me feel healthy while not feeling healthy? Does that make sense? I did swap out the vegan cheese for regular cheese, so maybe that's why. Mmmm, just what I wanted. I also ordered the tomato soup to dip it in for ultra luxury. I was looking for two things in a sandwich shop: an opening time earlier than 11am (so that I could grab sandwiches on the way to the river on those glorious summer adventure days without having to delay my start), and great vegan sandwiches. This place not only checked both boxes, but also had two great bonuses: outstanding breakfast sandwiches and nitro cold brew coffee from Coava. The vegan meats and cheeses are homemade, the bread is fresh, the sauces are tasty, and the prices are fair. To top it all off, the service is friendly and efficient, and the interior is clean and inviting. This is honestly the best sandwich I've ever had in my life. I had to get mine on gluten free bread, which was soft (usually gluten free bread is hard). The perfect amount of ingredients was used in the sandwich. Nothing fell out of it as I ate. Each ingredient tasted fresh and complimented each other. I forgot everything else and had a moment of peace enjoying this sandwich. The chips are house made, and have the right amount of crunch to them. The pickle was crunchy, the right amount of sweet and sour, too. I also indulged in a gluten free cookie, which was chewy and delightful. I would definitely go back here in a heartbeat. read more

Yoooo I never do this but this place just opened and I saw they only had 2 reviews so I thought I would leave mine. These sandwiches are the TRUTH ... I've ordered twice for pickup this week and both times was very satisfied. The Italian was a great classic hoagie with just about every Olympia Provisions meat product you could ask for. Today I had the breakfast sandwich with sausage and herb aioli and almost went back to order a second one it was so good. I haven't eaten at the restaurant yet but the place looks really nice and they have a great little patio area in the courtyard of the building. Next time I'll be trying the roasted broccolini sandwich (vegan) because it sounds like fire. The vegan chocolate chip + sea salt cookie was also really good. This is for sure my new lunch spot. read more

Came back to those restaurant after our first incredible experience. This one was only made better by Jada! Truly passionate customer service. She allowed us to customize our order to meet our gluten-free needs. There is usually an up charge for gluten-free but there is not at this establishment. The place was clean and tidy. Within another minute, a plate of halibut came out. Also strange, we did order halibut but typically we'd expect our salads/smaller dishes to come out first but okay. Before we could take a bite, our waiter came back and swooped that plate up saying "this doesn't belong here" --no apology, no clarification, just poof. We could see the expo getting frustrated, trying to explain the table numbers to the wait staff so maybe it was just a new set of trainees? The table next to us also asked the waiter to hold off on firing the next few plates to give them time to digest, but unfortunately their next plate also came out within 2 minutes lol. We also got the fried chicken and the halibut. The fried chicken was fine but I didn't walk away blown away. It tasted like it really wanted to be like its Japanese cousin karaage, but the breading was too thick and there were chunks that were purely batter. Needed a wedge of lime to brighten things up. The halibut was ok too, we liked the pickled cherries but the whole dish didn't come together in the way we wished the flavors would. Overall, I'd say the food was a 6.5/10 and wait staff confusion was a 4/10. Midway thru our meal our waiter asked if we wanted dessert before we wrapped up and we were confused because we still had half our dishes and he just walked away. Then at the end it took several attempts to flag someone down to pay our bill, which added another 15 minutes next to meltdown Mariah next to us which felt like an eternity. For the amount we spent, I definitely think you could get a better meal elsewhere.

Despite being ridiculous full, we still managed to make room for dessert. We got the cookie and lemon pound cake. Bro that pound cake can get it. The mascarpone whip on top made me tingle on the inside after I got a taste. My gawd I wanted to eat the whole thing. The price for what it is left something to be desired. I did not like the atmosphere, so impersonal, no contact, no conversation. If I wanted cold, I would've gone through a drive through somewhere. To top it off they don't accept cash! They don't even take your order personally, you use a kiosk, there's literally NO personal contact with their customers.
