Still one of the best restaurants for Pizza in RI. The $15 cheese pizza is the best value around. Staff is well trained, everything on the menu is outstanding. Very clean and comfortable dining area.

I concur with the averaged out consensus of 4.3. They are doing it right at this little corner spot in Cranston! At first I was planning on hitting Pizza Mamma, but they're hyped bc of RHoRI. At any rate, I'm thrilled I chose Bettola. At the entry is a massive sign that exclaims, 'Best Pizza in RI'. They may not be IMO, but they're up there! The dough is fresh and the pizza is made fresh. The ingredients are above par for sure. The staff are nothing out of the ordinary, neither disgruntled nor overly excited. I'll definitely be back and highly recommend. Mangiamo!

Another spectacular dinner and adult beverage at Bettola. Kudos to you chef/kitchen staff and bartender. I had a chop salad, it was huge!! Lots of bacon bits, pickled onion, egg, and veggies. Loved it! The shortbread old fashioned intrigued me. So glad I ordered it!! Sweet, lovely bourbon heat and the shortbread rim was sensational. Loved it!! Could have had another.

Bettola never disappoints. I first came here after a yelp experience and recently went with a large group of family members (15 ppl) - they accommodated us seamlessly. All the pizzas were delicious and I loved my sandwich. I got the Sophia ($13) the eggplant was so juicy and paired with vodka sauce is a killer combo. The drinks were well made and every item here is very well priced. We could've paid so much more at other places and not be as satisfied. The staff members were friendly and atmosphere was fun & lively.

Bettola is a Neapolitan-style pizzeria and restaurant that opened in Cranston, Rhode Island in December 2018. It was founded by the Night Owl Restaurant Group, led by president Alexander Guarino. Born in Italy, Guarino was raised in Rhode Island and has had a long-term relationship with delicious Italian food. His family opened the restaurant Basta in Cranston in 1989. Around 2010, managers Anthony and Joanne Micheletti stepped down after 15+ years, and the younger Guarino took over Basta himself. He completely rebranded and renovated the space. After many years of success, his team decided to open a new venture in Cranston's Auburn/Rolfe Square section. Bettola (roughly translated as "tavern" in Italian) has a menu that features Neapolitan-style pizzas, Italian entrees, pasta dishes, salads, sandwiches, various appetizers, and craft cocktails. The team behind Bettola includes executive chef Steve Boyd, director of operations Justin Braun, and manager Ashley Burba. My family and I recently had dinner at Bettola while we were in the Greater Providence area for the evening. We really loved the interior with its nice design motif. To drink, my wife and I shared the "Cursed Cauldron for 2" (Smirnoff Kissed Caramel vodka, brandy, apple cider, caramel syrup, orange juice, ginger ale, gummy worms). It was a delicious cocktail that was perfect for the Halloween season. For food, we couldn't decide on one dish so we decided to order a bunch of dishes for the whole table to share. For pasta, we shared the "Pink Vodka" (pink vodka sauce, grated Romano, rigatoni) and the "Intrepid Outlier" (rigatoni, sweet Italian sausage, butternut squash, sundried tomatoes, garlic, sage, light cream sauce, shaved pecorino, EVOO). For pizza, we shared the "Margherita" (fresh mozzarella, grana, basil, garlic, EVOO) and the "Fig N' A" (arugula, prosciutto, cherry tomatoes, fresh & shredded mozzarella, figs, gorgonzola, garlic, oil, balsamic glaze). Everything was delicious! Each dish was a modern take on classic Neapolitan-inspired staples. We would love to return the next time we are in the area!

They don't take reservations. Tried the Abe Froman pasta and it tasted like orecchiette with broccoli rabe and sausage had a baby with pasta fagioli. It was delicious. We weren't offered bread but saw another table eating bread and asked for it. The bread was fantastic. Definitely ask for bread. I haven't tried the pizza yet but I definitely plan to try it next time!

Another delicious meal at Bettola. We did have to wait approximately an hour to get seated. The broccoli appetizer and Cesar salad were great. We also got the meatball appetizer which was good but lacked a little flavor. The gnocchi special was tasty and light. The chicken Parmesan did not disappoint but my family orders it with the pink sauce instead of the traditional red sauce. Prices are reasonable. On-street parking.

Stopped in last night since we haven't been again a while & it didn't dissapoint! It was packed wall to wall but we got seats at the bar which we always love! Evie was the bartender and she was incredible running the bar for the whole place with such ease & still so attentive to serving the whole bar too! We ordered a fig pizza & the cranberry nut something salad & both were seriously amazing ! Plenty for two people! The music is great , food amazing , service is the best & such a fun atmosphere can't wait to go back asap.

This is the pasta with bolognese. Dry and the meat was old.

I am typically not one to complain, but this was truly terrible food. I'm going to let the pics speak for themselves. We ordered take out on a Friday evening and what we received was garbage. The pasta with bolognese was so dry and the sauce tasted funky like it was old meat. Even worse was the veal and eggplant. It was overcooked in dirty old fryer oil. The smell was awful and the food was like leather. We called to let the manager know and the reaction we got from the woman who answered the phone was rude and defensive. I would not have wrote this review if she had responded in a professional way. I would stay away from this place.

$20 for a plate of pasta no protein added. the flavor was nice. however it was not worth it. It was more like an appetizer

I have been to Bettola on 3 different occasions: RI Food Fights- Lord of the Wings 2023 Elite Event 2024 RI Food Fights- Lord of the Pies 2024 This place is consistent! They are constantly pumping out great service, good food in a modern/sheik atmosphere. This place is well worth visiting. Drinks! Mystery beers. The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle T's. The pop culture place mat's. The celebrity bathroom photo's that adorn the bathrooms. Cannoli's! The Marilyn Monroe pizza is delish!

The pasta e fagioli soup was delicious and tasted as it should. We savoured it. Our salad tasted garden fresh. I asked for a basic spaghetti with meatballs. Delicious. Their meatballs meet my approval. And that is saying a lot because usually no restaurant meatballs measure up. Except for the meatballs my Grandmother, Mother and I have cooked. This is why I'm tentative about eating Italian out since we grew up making it, ourselves. Everything we tried here falls under the "did not disappoint," category which is an A all around. Even the rustic dining style with sentimental interior home furnishings and decorations. All of it speaks to the heart. They are a warm bunch and will talk to those just passing through. When I'm traveling the Eastern seaboard, I will make it a point to dine at Viola Cucina.

Mostly Smoke and mirrors.... At first glance, their website…read morelooks impressive, their menu looks authentic, and their staff promised 'everything' made fresh and to order. But upon tasting their food, it was clear, 'Viola' is just another Americanized Italian restaurant. We started with an a la carte order of: 'House made focaccia, roasted garlic spread, evoo, craft butter' This was fresh and tasty. We then shared the 'Caesar: traditional romaine hearts, foccaccia croutons, shaved pecorino cheese. classic caesar dressing.' This lacked any flavour, the romaine was cut into too small pieces, there was no hint of garlic or anchovy in the dressing. But the most disappointing dishes were the pasta dishes: 'Fettucini bolognese, house made, beef, pork, veal ragu, pecorino, basil, calabrian Chili.' 'Scampi viola, squid ink linguini, shrimp garlic, white wine, julienned vegetables, preserved lemon butter.' Although the pastas were freshly made, their textures were compromised; both pasta dishes were not 'al dente'. In fact the Scampi viola was drenched in a dark gravy and greasy. This is just not a very skilled preparation of pasta. A fresh pasta needs very little sauce, and should be dressed very simply so the 'textures' can be enjoyed. I ordered the: 'Zuppa di vongole: fresh little neck clams, vino biqnco, fresh herbs, crostini.' But this dish was replaced by a fried calamari dish. This was well prepared, actually the only star of the evening. This restaurant may succeed on its 'blandness' but will never attract the discerning diner who wants and appreciates authentic Italian cuisine. ~tiaotse~

In a world where restaurants seem to either reinvent themselves every six months or completely fall apart after a few good years, Antonio's just keeps doing what it does well. Good food, solid portions, professional service, and that old-school Italian restaurant atmosphere that Rhode Island somehow still manages to preserve better than almost anywhere else. My wife and I went recently for dinner and had one of those meals where everything just flowed the way you want it to. We started with the fried calamari, which was excellent. Light, crispy, not drowning in grease, and actually seasoned properly. A lot of places phone calamari in because it's such a standard appetizer, but this tasted fresh and well executed. The hot peppers mixed in gave it a nice kick without taking over the plate. We also got a couple espresso martinis because it feels almost illegal to eat Italian food in Cranston without at least considering one. For dinner, I went with the chicken parmigiana after hearing people rave about it for years, and honestly, they weren't wrong. The chicken was tender, perfectly breaded, and the sauce had that slow-cooked flavor that tastes like somebody's grandmother has been guarding the recipe since the Reagan administration. My wife ordered the seafood fra diavolo, which came loaded with shrimp, clams, mussels, and enough garlic to keep vampires away for the rest of the week. Spicy without being ridiculous. The portions were generous too. Not "food challenge" oversized, just satisfying. Dessert was tiramisu for the table because at that point you're already committed to the experience. Really good balance of espresso flavor and mascarpone without feeling overly heavy. Sometimes tiramisu can feel like eating sweet drywall. This wasn't that. Service was also great all night. Attentive without hovering. Drinks stayed filled, plates disappeared quickly, and the pacing of the meal felt relaxed but organized. You never felt rushed, but you also weren't sitting there wondering if your waiter had moved to another state midway through dinner. The place itself has that classic Rhode Island Italian restaurant energy. Comfortable, a little lively, people talking loudly across tables, waiters who look like they've worked there forever, and the smell of garlic and red sauce hitting you the second you walk in. It's not trendy or trying to become some minimalist foodie experiment. Thank God for that.
