Grabbed the beef sandwich (don't recall the exact name, but was one of the hot sandwiches) and one of the chocolate chip cookies. Sandwich was freshly made, good outside the airport (which is great for inside...) and the cookie was good enough to actually seek it out. Overall I'd traditionally go 4 stars, but seeing the service and quality at the other options I'm bumping it up to 5. Service: 5/5 - she was super friendly, prompt, and even asked how the sandwich was when she passed by on her way out. Food Quality: 4/5 - Was extremely good and no knock here, but to get 5/5 in my book for the quality it needs to be something I'd crave. Was excited to see the Tucson airport has been revamped with newer restaurants. I was looking for breakfast. Options are heavy on the carbs...it is primarily bread driven regardless of the name. While they used actual cheddar and not processed cheese, the eggs are powdered reconstituted and the bacon looks microwave cooked...limp and more rubber than crisp. May still be your best bet for breakfast at the airport. Pastries looked good although I didn't sample them. read more

By far the WORST Beyond Bread I've been to. I typically buy a Lizzie's Luggage (also known as Bart's Bag) right before takeoff and eat my sandwich on the plane. Every time I buy the sandwich, it isn't as great as the storefront locations, but still does the trick. This time though...I order my sandwich, board my flight and open my sandwich and see this!!! The sandwich is literally falling apart with mounds of mayonnaise along with a foreign meat (tuna/shredded chicken? Not sure!). And the best part of the sandwich is the honey mustard, but that was clearly replaced with more mayonnaise. Needless to say, I didn't even take a bite of the sandwich and I seriously despise wasting food!!! This will no longer be my pre-flight stop. If you're going to have a Tucson staple in the airport, make sure it meets the bar. Because this location is beyond below it. read more

I'll start by saying I LOVE Beyond Bread and eat there regularly. I was delighted to see them pop up in the airport as an alternative to a bagel before an early morning flight. I've had the oatmeal, coffee and grilled cheese. Although still better (& cheaper) than lots of places, the in airport version pales in comparison to the brick and mortar restaurants in town. I've been going to Beyond Bread for as long as they've existed. My daughter even worked there for a long time. Apparently, the Beyond Bread in the airport is different from the brand we as a family love. I ordered a "Catch of the Sea', which I've been ordering for years. When I ordered it, I asked them to please make the bread on the side multi-grain, to which the guy said no problem. The salad came out with no bread and when I asked for bread, a woman with red hair who looked like a manager said that they don't give bread because they're an "affiliate". She wasn't really the shining example of rich customer service either. She looked like she'd been eating lemons all morning. Look, Beyond Bread is a household name around Tucson. We all know it and love it. My daughter even graduated high school with the owners daughter. That said, once you've worked so hard to create a great brand, don't change it and don't muck it up over a piece of bread. By the way, come out & clean the dining area every so often. I have always been a Beyond Bread fan but this location is not my favorite. Often the bread on the Bob's BLT is over toasted and the mayo is just too much. Horrible. I'm a commercial pilot so a eat a lot of airport food. This place was terrible. Ordered the Lizzie's Luggage. It took 15 minutes to make the sandwich. When I got it, the sandwich was dry and had no Brie on it. The employees could really care less. Too bad the service is so awful and slow. I ordered 2 really simple turkey sandwiches which took close to 30 minutes to be completed. The cashier was confused on how to enter the info into the computer. The poor girl trying to make sandwiches was so overwhelmed. At one point the young man at the cashier said that they were not taking any more orders because they were so far behind. This was from 12:07 to approx 12:40. Beyond bread rocks a sandwich. I'm at the airport this a m. And they're completely out of bread. They have coffee and bottled drinks so I bought coffee and water. Beyond Bread in Tucson has been a favorite destination of ours for years. But today's experience at the airport was dismal. I ordered an avocado toast with bruschetta and asked for wheat toast instead of white. 20-min. later and after asking twice about my order, I get some avocado slapped onto white bread, barely toasted and a few cherry tomatoes and cucumbers on top. What a nightmare. I fully acknowledge that I should have just walked away and abandoned my order but....being exhausted from a day of travel and poor cell phone service and desperate for some food, my family and I missed our flight due to the slow service and general incompetent management of this place. Unbelievably slow for an airport location. The refrigerated case was empty of prepackaged sandwiches and I waited 20 minutes for my sandwich to be made. The person behind the counter said sandwiches would be made in 5-8 minutes but the person in the kitchen couldn't have moved any slower if he tried. With a line of people waiting, there was one person making sandwiches, plugged into earphones, and moving at the pace of a turtle. You'd think that as an airport location, they'd have a few people in the back. The cashier seemed to think my situation completely amusing. I got my money back and a free extra sandwich but lost 5 hours of travel time for my family, including a child. Excellent baked goods and decent drip coffee for a fair price. Got a giant chocolate chip cookie for $2 and it was quality. Have gone several times for coffee that is a good deal. Today I got a to go caprese salad that i ended up throwing out. The cucumbers smelled bad, the tomatoes and mozzarella were bland and the slice of bread was dry.
