With that area of town being so crowded, I thought parking was going to be an issue, but I found a spot right near the front of the restaurant every time. I walked right in, ordered at the bar, and was in and out in less than 12 minutes every time. On top of it all, I had the same person helping me from behind the bar each time and she was incredible. Friendly, accommodating, and if I was the manager, she'd be getting a raise. Ask for Alyssa and you won't be disappointed. All the while there were four or five servers wandering around the bar side of the dining room. The food here is decent but service has always been iffy. It's disappointing because as a guy who's been to the original Anchor Bar back when I lived there, it could be so much better. These two times we left aren't our first issues with the service; it's been somewhat dicey every time. I do not like leaving low star reviews. I really hope the service team gets its act together.

The restaurant fried tortilla chips basically overpowered the broth with the oil used. As for the vegetables was that the avocado? Looking at the updated menu shows no vegetables anymore. $13 for a bowl of chips. Broth, a tablespoon of avocado and cheese? Unfortunately for me having an authentic Mexican restaurant close by will mean going in another direction. There's still other places that give you more bang for you buck.
