The dawn of ubiquitous electric cars comes the desire to one day (soon?) replace my 15 year old Acura... and then the tape player failed. Who cares about a tape player? Given the lack of auxiliary input, I've been using a cassette adapter for my audio input for 15 years. So how do I get my tunes back? Enter Beyond Street and their main sound guy, Chris. THE BEST!!! Friends, a good car person is elusive. Truly. But Chris is amazing. He's not just skilled at car electronics (which he does incredibly well too - I know from my boss's car); he's also the bomb at car maintenance! I am not lying when I say I went to three different mechanics/shops over the last year who caused more damage than they fixed. Every time I left, something new was wrong until the car just started to smell like exhaust all the time, INSIDE! and just decline in performance, quickly. But my car is 18-years old with 200K miles. I thought, "Well, this is it. It's been a good run." Which it has been, even for a Toyota. But Chris brought my old girl back to life. Not only did he fix the ailments, mechanical and electrical, and replace the brakes, etc., but my car actually looks amazing under the hood! It used to look like the inside of an abandoned barbecue under HWY 880, but it looks nice now! You can see where he cleaned up the battery connectors, where the belts look lovely and fresh, and where the new higher-quality exhaust manifold is sitting pretty. That's the thing - Chris didn't just fix and replace parts, he did so with quality parts and cleanly, unlike the last several mechanics. I don't even want to think about the other "new" parts in my car from the last shops that may be inferior (looking at you, front axle). And, my favorite part, he sent photos and videos throughout the process so I could see what damage there was and how the new parts were running! The transparency was refreshing and welcome. Anyway, this is getting too long. Suffice to say that my car has not run this easily, this smoothly, and this happily in a very very very long time. I'm so very grateful. read more

I've been dealing with Chris for nearly 2 decades. Honestly anything that had to do with music, tires and even random requests like car hitches; He's always given me his honesty and most thorough evaluations. One thing I adore in any business is if you tell me honestly if you can or cannot do something without cheating your way into getting money. Chris has never been like that. He even saved my life once from a tire company that used cheap lug nuts on my previous car. I was basically driving until the wheels could have fallen off literally. I originally brought my car in due to the sound not coming out clearly. I told Chris I had an older after market system. Chris listened and knew exactly what the problem was. He took off my door panel to tell me the original speakers were blown out. It was easy making an appointment for him to replace them. After he replaced the speakers I noticed there was still a problem with the sound. I called Chris to share my concerns he suggested getting the whole car rewired due to the system being older he gave me a competitive price I felt comfortable with. Chris rewired the whole car and that fixed my sound issues. He is absolutely the best I would recommend him to anyone looking to get any sound system to their cars. I came in for advise on upgrading the sound of my 2017 CR-V is supposed to already have premium sound but you haven't had premium sound until you hear how it sounds now! I came on a Saturday to get a quote on a stereo install. John or the person in charge have me a great quote. He said it could be done the following Monday or Tuesday. He gave me a business card and said to call him to choose the day. I left and called him back 5 minutes later and set the appointment up for Tuesday. Things went sideways after this. On Monday they called me and said they overbooked for Tuesday and asked if I could come in the same day. I told them no because I had already moved my schedule around to drop my car off the next day, Tuesday. They said I could bring the car in Wednesday then. That worked for me because it was the day before thanksgiving so I didn't need to drive anywhere. They told me to be there right when they open at 10 am because it's important they start early. I showed up Wednesday morning at 10 am and no one was there. I waited thirty minutes and no one showed up. No one answered the phone. No one called me later to explain why they didn't show up for my appointment. No apology. No explanation. Simply pure unprofessionalism. I would not recommend this place for any work. Service is always a reflection of performance and the service here is the lowest. Imagine what they'd do to your car. read more

Chris was super cool when I call for the price of labor to install my aftermarket back up camera set for a 2012 audi q5. even when the labor took much longer he still warrant the same time price and apply the same effort to get the job done. I do have to be clear that the kit i purchase did not require a lot of wiring and it is very plug and play but the effort to run the camera and take out the dash is very extensive. i will be back to install an android car play to another car really soon ! read more

Recently had my car stereo upgraded and BSP did an awesome job. Older Porsches are not the easiest cars to deal with since they have very finicky electronics. Chris did an amazing job. After the install there was a strange issue with the Sirius radio connection and Chris was cool enough to have me come in so he could update everything after I bought the add on part needed...no charge.
