Found this place on yelp and given the high reviews, we decided to come. Omakase was a disappointment. The sashimi were not high grades. The two satisfying nigiri in the omakase were uni and sweet shrimp. Everything else was disappointing. Oyster shooter was good, flavorful. Sake toro were worthy trying as they add spicy sauce on top which was new. Chicken katsu for the kiddo, was another highlight. Crispy and flavorful. The kid loved it. It was our first time here, and was drawn to the reviews and photographs of the beautifully displayed dishes. As a Japanese, I do expect higher standards when it comes to Japanese food. Restaurant is very clean, bright and staff were all friendly. 3pm on Christmas day, it was pretty empty. Order was taken promptly and was served quickly. We ordered hot green tea, veggie tempura, omakase 10pc sushi, shrimp tempura roll and a rock n roll. The hot green tea we ordered was actually genmaicha, which has roasted brown rice mixed in with green tea. So not what I was expecting when ordering regular green tea. The pot was plastic and the spout was missing the tip to prevent spilling all over the place. Veggie tempura was okay. It's really hard to find non-japanese owned restaurants to get tempura right. In Japan, we never see broccoli, huge slice of carrots, zucchini served as tempura so it was a bit strange. Yes, maybe at home you'd use unorthodox ingredients. The dipping sauce was also funky and tasted a bit like vinegar was added?? Never had sauce like this ever with tempura. Maybe confused with gyoza sauce?? 10 PC sushi was good. Fish was fresh and generous but the "soy sauce" that came lathered in tasted a bit odd as well. The rolls were okay, just like rolls you would expect. The Wasabi had no flavor, the gari (ginger) were shredded with dry bits and pieces, not the nice moist large whole pieces you expect. Looked as if damaged by freezer burn. We came right at the beginning of happy hour (2:30-5pm). The happy hour prices are amazing. I had the California King roll (deep fried) and OMG roll. My husband had the black dragon roll and rock & roll. I loved both of my rools and my husband also loved my OMG and his black dragon roll. The sauces were so tasty! It was very busy during happy hour and there was only one waitress. The poor lady was running back and forth between all the tables trying to attend to everyone's needs, seating people and taking payments. We weren't in a rush so we didn't care about the long wait times. They all did everything they could. I bet she barley got one break that day. So, if you want tasty sushi come here. Loved that they have happy hour EVERYDAY from 2:30-5:00pm. We went on a Saturday and they did get busy, but it only seemed busy because they looked like they were short staffed. But it was worth the wait because we were able to order 5 different dishes and a beer for $43! The rolls came out one by one and they were good size pieces with fresh fish. I loved their presentation as well. Nothing tasted old and the rice was good! It was well worth the price. Each time on happy hour is about $7.50 and the beer was $3. The only issue was, was the glass cups sitting upside down on the tables weren't clean. Still looked like lip marks on it. But just ask for a to go cup for water! I personally am a huge fan of sushi. I have visited dozens of different places in the Sacramento area and my journey has led me to BF Miyabi. I had gone for the first time with some friends back in very early 2021 because they wanted to find a place with good ramen. I've been back a couple times since then as they have wonderful food. The staff was super friendly, and the first time we went, our waitress said it was her very first day as they had just recently opened. We were the only group there the entire time which wasn't a bad thing, just noteworthy. To start, the building itself is very beautiful and has a decent amount of parking. They had a nice giara styled bottle of water on the table for us to fill our cups whenever we wanted. (I had to look up the style of bottle it was). The glassware is also very nice. The house ramen is decent, but they really excel in their sushi. Presentation is always immaculate and you can tell that they must pride themselves in their presentation. I've had a good third of their menu when it comes to rolls and I have to say, there wasn't a single one to complain about. Every single one is always so packed in flavor that it's hard to go wrong ever. Pricing is similar to Mikuni's which is to say that it's up there. By no means is Miyabi cheap on the pricing of their rolls, but they're always high quality so it's forgivable. The only thing I'm ever disappointed in is the chef special. Every sushi place I go to, I ask for them to have fun making me a crazy roll with no price limits as long as it has unagi. Most of the time, the chef goes crazy and is really excited for us to try it. However, the chefs at BF Miyabi usually just pick something off the menu with eel in it and make that. The roll is always good so its not like this is a bad thing. I just wish that they would have fun with the surprise I ask for. Overall, BF Miyabi is definitely a place to try. It's in my rotation for best places to eat in Sacramento, so I highly recommend trying it for yourself. read more

We ordered takeout from BF Miyabi the other night. The food was pretty good. In general, generous portions for your food dollar. Our menu selections included Shrimp Tempura, the OMG & California Rolls, Hamachi (Yellow Tail), Baked Scallop and Edamame. The OMG was delicious; consisting of spicy tuna, shrimp tempura topped with avocado, salmon, onion and a sesame seed sauce. My Hamachi was tender & flavorful...my only complaint is with me ... for not ordering more. My lady advised that her Baked Scallop dish was very nice (spicy scallop, tempura asparagus toped with scallop and sesame seed sauce). My least favorite food item was the shrimp tempura. I figured I'd give this place a second try. Both disappointing and scary the second time around. I don't think I'm gonna go anywhere, but Mikuni for the rest of my life in Roseville. I ordered an avocado cucumber roll for my son. For some reason they decided to make the rules so bizarre with the seaweed on the outside and everything squish on the inside. Including the Masago, which made no sense. After they remade the raw, we ate the rolls, because there were three orders of them. Each and every single one of us my two children included all had massive diarrhea. Really scary. Time for dinner and we're in Roseville. My friend said the best but now closed Japanese restaurant Miyabi in Elk Grove is opened in Roseville now. Found them in Yelp and decided to go there for dinner. We're all enjoyed our excellent dinner. Same highest quality food and same best friendly service. What a wonderful dinner experience last night! We're in BF Miyabi at around 7:30 pm last night and get a very nice and comfortable table right away. We ordered some of our favorite dishes and take some recommendations from the owner. Everything is so fresh and delicious! The best quality in the area at a reasonable price! The restaurant is very clean and I like the atmosphere and the excellent customer service there. The parking lot is very safe and I have no problem finding a parking space in front of the restaurant. Highly recommended all my friends and Yelpers who read my reviews. I'm so conflicted. I don't want to write this review. I don't want you to listen to me. I'm worried that this undiscovered gem will become mainstream and everything will change. But until then... You see, we finally broke away from our regular spots and decided to try this little place in an unassuming strip mall. We heard some "chatter" on the local FB foodies group and saw enough photo evidence to warrant a try....and tries don't come easy on rare, coveted "date nights". So with our babysitter in place, we ventured out to the great unknown, ready to roll the dice. It was a Friday night, and we had no idea what the wait would be like, so we braced for the worst. We arrived at 6:30 and there were only a couple other diners inside. We were immediately greeted and seated at the bar. Cold water was delivered in a swing-top jar. The unusual metal chopsticks at each place setting caught my eye. But my gaze quickly transitioned behind the glass where a massive bluefin tuna was being dismantled in real time. Dinner was literally being harvested and transformed before our eyes. Wow! Brian (one of the two owners) came over and greeted us warmly, excited to talk about the food. He explained that they just got fresh oysters, salmon and tuna (uh...THAT one!) today. We considered ordering omakase (where the chef picks for you) but instead decided to pick and choose a few things based on the fresh catch, foodie group recommendations and whatever adhoc whims we felt as we progressed. We started with the oysters, 3 normal and 3 dressed up with Uni, along with 'sushi tacos'. These are 4 wonderful piles of diced tuna atop a deep fried seaweed chip of sorts. It was a good sized portion and I was impressed by the quality of the fried bit holding it all together. It wasn't greasy and added a wonderful crunch to each bite. Would definitely get it again! As for the oysters - they were great too - cleanly shucked (no sand or shell debris) and woke up our palate and libidos appropriately (go oysters!). Meanwhile, my wife and I are watching the chef behind the counter expertly breaking down the remainder of the blue fin, scraping the meat with knives and spoons, separating it into different stacks for various uses. I couldn't resist the urge, so I asked if he already harvested the belly of the beast. He reached under the counter and pulled out another part of the fish and, Frank (the other owner) came over to extract two prized slices. He then prepared them delicately with a brushing of soy and a touch of pickled wasabi. It was perhaps the best bite of fish I'd ever eaten. It melted in your mouth like a warm pad of butter. Now that we felt completely indulgent, it seemed appropriate to order the double toro roll. It's a pricy roll, but appropriately so when you stuff the inside with salmon belly and then lay fat slices of tuna belly across the top. Go big or go home. Yum. The Sunset roll was recommended. It was also great with 4 types of sashimi, spicy tuna and shrimp tempura. Then I saw the chef tossing around the tuna's head and curiosity got the best of me again. "Are you cutting out the cheeks?". Before we could blink, two generous samples were presented in front of us to try. Talk about an interactive dining experience! We were quite full at this point, and I think Brian sensed the slow down. He sauntered over with a bottle of sweet liquor and insisted that we (and the other patrons at the bar) celebrate Friday properly. He poured us all small shots and we raised glasses together. We took the time to ask Brian about what it was like opening a small restaurant in December 2020, amidst the chaos of Covid and dining restrictions. He spoke proudly of his journey and how they were motivated to push forward. We really enjoyed hearing his story and getting to know him a bit. All in all, this experience hit all the right notes: - fresh fish - friendly owner and staff - attentive service - expertly crafted cuisine (not overly saucy, good fish:rice ratio, etc) - several TVs streaming live sports - background music wasn't turned up too loud - no long wait My one piece of advice to BF is that they should consider adding a kid menu option for $6-10 range. Otherwise that may be a barrier when families are picking where to go. So again, I write this with hesitation. Knowing that we can pop over there during prime time on a Friday night and belly up to the bar without waiting seems like a luxury I'd rather not share. I don't even know where to begin! The atmosphere was warm, friendly, and clean. They had a wide variety of foods to choose from. All the fishes tasted fresh and were all so delicious! I'm a huge sushi lover and am very picky on freshness and the cuts of sushi. I love nigiris and BF Miyabi made my love for nigiris go up even more! The fishes were perfectly cut and had just the right amount of rice per nigiri pieces. Considering how busy they were on a Friday evening, all the food came out at a good pace. I would have to say, they are a bit pricier than most sushi spots I've gone to, but you pay for what you get and it was worth every dollar! Thanks for a great experience. We were in the area and was craving for sushi. We wanted to try somewhere new and I remembered my cousin telling me about this new place she tried and loved. So I asked her for the name and we stopped by to check it out. It's a small sushi spot kind of hidden in the corner. When we walked in, they did temp checks. However, only a few employees were wearing a mask. They have sanitizer on every table. I don't remember if they have signs that requires masks for customers but we still wear our masks everywhere we go. There was only 1 other table when we walked in. It was nice and cool in there on a hot 109° outside. I ordered a nice cold large beer. For lunch we ordered the deluxe combo, Broadway roll, black dragon roll and the toro sashimi. We really enjoyed the sushi rolls, the basic Broadway roll was our favorite. The deluxe combo was a really good portion for $50 and everything was delicious. We were a little disappointed with the toro sashimi since that's our favorite. The cut was too thick for us, actually for all of the sashimi pieces in the deluxe combo too so we were wishing we would've just gotten the toro nigiri instead. Or next time we will ask if they can slice it thinner. I did notice that the menu has 3/8 piece for $18/$42 sashimi prices so we asked for 8 but received 9 and was charged $50 and we only ate 2 pieces since it was too thick which made it kind of chewy and hard to eat. Also, the fresh wasabi was really good, however they do charge $3 for it. It's worth it though. We'll come back again and try different items on the menu and hopefully we can get thinner slices on the sashimi, if not we'll end up just getting nigiri. read more

Yum yum yum!! The sushi chefs never disappoint here. Their fish cuts are HUGE and so so fresh. Plenty of parking and there's plenty of seating. Not so much for big parties past 6 people. I'm sure it's possible though. My current favorites: Double Toro and Miyabi rolls. From the presentation to each savory and fresh bite. It's absolutely delicious. Seems like this restaurant was originally in Elk Grove and they recently moved to Roseville. We ordered the Temale roll, stonelake roll and forest roll. This place is probably the best sushi in the Roseville area. The fish is really fresh and the Happy Hour pricing can't be beat. I get to feast like a queen during Happy Hour pricing. My only qualms about this place is that they charge you a fee for using a credit card. I wish they could be upfront about it. When I received my bill, there was a note on the bill booklet indicating, "Extra Card Fee". I though, what's that? A good business wouldn't charge a credit card fee and if they did, they need to specify in detail what percentage they would be charging the customers. I thought it was a fee for using an extra credit card/ splitting bill fee. But nope, I saw the charge after they ran my credit card. So if you don't want to be charged a questionable percentage on top of your bill, I recommend you pay by cash. read more

Rolls were over sauced in general, spicy tuna hand rolls were mushy, and we even were charged for a shisho leaf. Amazing gyoza though. Fantastic food as always. We are really happy this place came back in Roseville from Elk Grove. Every thing here tastes so fresh and wholesome! We got the Folsom, Stone Lake, Blue Fin Maki, gyoza, tempura, sushi tacos and ramen! Honestly the appetizers and the sushi is hands done the best! I added lemon to my stone lake roll and it was perfect. (I was up charged to sub Lemon instead of Advo which was kind of weird since avocado I'm assuming would be more expensive but that's ok.) The tacos tasted sort of like civiche but were decent. I was a little disappointed in the House Ramen as it wasn't really rich in the broth. Won't be getting again unfortunately. No mention of soda, which i found out is available by the can. Not really my favorite option for drinking soda especially for the cost qnd it wasn't mentioned prior to my ordering that they obky offer canned beverages. Our least t favorite was the spicy rainbow roll. Just kinda meh. The Temale roll was way better wished we ordered a second one of those instead.
