Great place for healthy vegan food. We had a few of the smoothies and they were all unique and tasty. The green spicy one was pretty intense with the ginger, not for me personally but my cousin loved it. The fruitier ones were excellent. The staff were warm and welcoming, explaining the menu and answering all our questions. The ordering process happens in the back of the store, where there's more table seating and shelves full of tea and macrobiotic stuff. This was my first time at a vegan restaurant and they sure did not disappoint! Everything we tried was amazing! I had the jackfruit 'not chicken' sandwich which was so rich and flavorful and tastes just like barbecue chicken! First time trying a vegan restaurant, and must admit that I was a tad bit nervous. However, the food and atmosphere was great! I'm beginning to try different non-meat meat options, so I ordered the beyond meat classic cheeseburger. Originally, I had ordered the lobster roll, but was informed shortly after placing my order that they had no lobster rolls left...I was super bummed about it. They apologized...I get things happen...it is what it is. Marley came out to talk to my friend and I and we had a chance to learn more about the restaurant which was pretty interesting. Back to the burger though...it was good, however I am sooooo anal about getting my hands messy while eating so I was trying to focus on the burger and not me making a mess lol. I'd get the burger again, but with less items on it....I'd do cheese, onions, lettuce, mustard...basic. The burger came with grilled bell peppers, guac and a few other things. The side of potato wedges were good as well. I tried a berry smoothie. I'd definitely go back...I want that lobster roll though! A prime example of how raw vegan food can still taste excellent! The chipotle burger was amazing, as well as the broccoli side. Get the meal option (Salad w/ choice of 1 side), and you are sure to be full. If that isn't enough, add one of their delectable smoothies and you'll be stuffed. They aren't too small or too pricey like most smoothie places, and there's an impressive list of add-ons as well. I usually add cayenne, which is pretty spicy but not overbearing. Relatively affordable compared to other vegan/vegetarian places around the city. They also carry a wide variety of healthy food and drink options to carry home, like assorted teas and goji berries. The Lemon Kiss is the best smoothie ever. That's just one reason B'Gabs is amazing. The entire menu is high quality raw foods, Gabriele really cares about health (no cutting corners or adding sweeteners like agave syrup). She's incredibly knowledgable and kind enough to share her knowledge. I'm training for a marathon and she was willing to talk to me about what nutrients and whole foods my body needs for workouts. So I already ate but I wanted to check out this vegan spot my brother and SIL swear by this place. Let me tell you this place comes highly recommended so much so my brother bought the taco meat in bulk for my SIL so she could have it. The woman that greeted me name was Monica very warm and later very patient with me as I was having trouble with the WiFi code. There is plenty of seating. I got to meet the owner she was very friendly. Throughout my meal there was a lot of business. I think I will come back when I have a real appetite. But I did order the avocado toast and a side of hash. Both plates were VERY flavorful. I usually don't purchase food that I can make at home but this didn't disappoint and again I don't really have an appetite. They play soft music which I love. Monica had was eating something that smelled AMAZING it was a Philly cheesesteak and remember it's VEGAN. I HAVE to have it and it was HUGE!!! I was really impressed with B'Gabs Goodies. My husband and I are not Vegan but we do not eat meat and have been trying to eat a lot healthy, going for more plant based options. We were visiting Chicago and just finished exploring the Space and Industry Museum and I was getting hungry. My husband found B'Gabs and to be honest I was not excited. I was really hungry and wanted to eat something filling, cheesy, and fattening, because hey I was on vacation. Regardless, I didn't argue because I just wanted to eat then and there, so we checked it out. The menu did entice me a bit because there looked to be a lot of different options. The woman at the counter was also very welcoming and friendly. She told us what some of their most popular items were and asked if we had any special dietary needs. It was cool how they broke down their whole menu into raw and other options. My husband opted for the Raw burger which I was like "ehhhhh???:" even the waitress warned not to get that if you eat real burgers because she wanted to make sure we were happy with our choices, but it turns out it was delicious! It exceeded my expectations and I was so surprised raw ingredients could make a burger worth eating. I had the mushroom and onion tamales, and boy was that yummy. They had a little bit of a spice to them but they were a great texture and had an incredible taste. Turned out the food was great and I was able to get filled up. Not only was I able to eat a yummy meal, I did not feel guilty the rest of the day with my choices. If you are vegan or not, I would recommend stopping by this place for a yummy treat. read more

I've been here multiple times and tried 3 different dishes including the philly "cheesesteak", the impossible burger, and the Breakfast Burrito Bowl. Oh, man the flavors come alive in each dish. Each texture perfectly complements another. AND THE POTATOES?? DO NOT SLEEP ON THE POTATOES. The service is very personable . The place is very cozy inside. I love to come here for lunch and read. As I'm focusing more on health I found this place while looking for a smoothie in Hyde Park. This is a "For Real" health food place, I was kinda out of my element but the staff was friendly and helpful. I've been there twice and both times I ordered smoothies, I haven't tried the food yet. I've had the Banana Pudding and Mighty Green smoothies, they both were great (as far as smoothies go). The smoothies cost $5.75 and I was full for a few hours. I've been here before they moved to this location and became crazy about the raw tacos, but never there juices or smoothies! Fast forward over the summer I was in the neighborhood and seen they had moved to HP. I went in to get there raw tacos, the nice lady told me to get the meal so I could get the kale salad. I did along with a mango smoothie. It was a bit expensive for a simple smoothie. It tastes just like the mango one from McDonalds. I was not pleased especially for the price, my salad had no flavor the kale was dry. Oh the raw tacos I ( use to) love were horrible. The nut meat was not grinned well it actually made my teeth hurt because they were so hard! I submitted an online order for breakfast, to drive all the way from Edgewater to Hyde Park, to find out by a note on their door that they were closed and didn't open until 9pm. First of all, why are you still taking online orders when you're closed and secondly, 9pm?! Are those night club hours?! Anyway, there was no way to cancel and their email address on both Square and their website was not valid. 2 days later, I get a notification saying the order was completed. I call up there and I told the lady who answered the phone what happened, where she proceeds to say to me that she thought I picked it up.WHAT?! SO, YOU DONT RECONCILE YOUR BOOKS AND JUST BLINDLY TAKE PEOPLE'S MONEY?! Moreover, who picks up an order for BREAKFAST the next day after they purchase it with the time frame of ASAP?! Then they tell me that they will reverse the charge to only find out by my bank that no reversal was processed nor pending. I will NEVER do business with this establishment. read more

Been meaning to try this place for a while since I'm vegetarian and I live right around the corner. Very welcoming vibe and awesome decor and collection of herbs, books, and alternative medicines. I had a green smoothie with kale, spinach, avocado, broccoli, and some other great stuff with a cayenne shot and a moringa root shot. Amazing. Creamy and tasty, yet clearly very real and healthy. Felt really clean afterwards haha! The staff were super friendly! Ray showed me around the place and talked to me about food, drinks, and other health products that the store offers. Really wide variety here, and it's a great place to learn more about healthy living. Apparently they have local music and poetry shows there some nights, which I thought was really really cool; and they're expanding the menu soon. Gotta come back to try some of the food next time, but thanks to an awesome first experience there I know there will be many next times :) read more

Very clean kitchen. I get sick from gluten contamination and they do have gluten items in the kitchen but they did take my allergy seriously and prepared my meal. I had got a potato, jalapeño, and cheese quesadilla, chipotle burger, desires pasta and jimaca fries. Honestly they did really try, they were also super nice. And I feel bad to say it, but the food did not taste good. The best part of my meal was the quesadilla and my beverage.
