All the do- it- yourself usual fixes failed. I called Robert Garage Door. The woman who answered the call explained the process, indicated there was no cost for an evaluation and gave me window time frames that a technician would be available. I asked for an evaluation. Within that given time frame, a technician, Nick, called to advise me that he would be arriving in 15 minutes. Nick was personable and professional. He explained the issue that was occurring with my garage door, recommended a solution, and advised me of the cost of the solution. In response to my question, he gave me an estimate of the time required to complete the repairs. In spite of the fact that Nick was working in a hot garage on a day when the heat index was over 100 degrees, he stayed focused and completed the job with his time estimate and for the fee quoted. I respect that man's tenacity and work ethic. Nick was also good at answering my questions about maintaining my garage door. There is nothing good about having a garage door that malfunctions. But once my garage door was broken, dealing with the personnel at Robert's Garage Doors made getting back to normal life as easy as possible. Based on my experience today, I highly recommend this company.

I chose a day for installation when Kris was going to be out of town on vacation so he let me decide if we wait to wait until he got back or if we wanted him to send his right hand man Daniel. We went with Daniel who showed up right on time on a cold morning. I thought removing the old badly cracked panes of glass would be very difficult. I was right but they got the old ones out quickly and the new ones in so fast and they finished about 30 minutes before their estimate. They only removed one window at a time and our house never got cold on a 33 degree day This was one of the best customer experiences for a project I have ever had. I chose EV Windows after asking CharGBT to find me a great window company with very good reviews and I'm so glad I did. I do not have one negative thing to say. I contacted Ami at AD Garage Doors and Locks who came across to me as honest, well versed, and experienced. His technician Tom inspected the lock the next day and found that the mechanism had broken to open and close the deadbolt and had to be replaced. Because it was an older wood door and lock, Ami and Tom recommended replacing the original 5" Kwikset deadbolt with a 5" Schlage deadbolt latch that would fit the pre-drilled holes in the door. Tom was able to secure a large enough plate to cover the extra pre-drilled hole in the door and give us a functioning front door lock. AD Garage Doors and Locks completely met my expectations at a reasonable price and I highly recommend them in the Chicago area.

We needed to have our garage overhead door replaced ASAP. My sister called BH Garage Door Monday morning for an estimate. Wow, a BH Technician was available in 20 minutes for inspection. We were in a hurry because we just got up. A BH Technician named Hugo R. came and inspected our badly damaged garage door due to hit and run. He came and explained what needed to be done. Since we wanted the garage door replaced ASAP, a BH Technician was available the next day Tuesday morning. We said, that's great and we're looking forward to it. Here comes Tuesday morning and we were worried there might be a big delay or postponement due to heavy pouring rain. A BH Technician named Juan A. called and he was on his way and will arrive in 40 minutes. He arrived and came very prepared and answered all our questions. Juan did an Amazing job replacing and installing the garage overhead door. He worked so diligently to get the job done right, "the first time". We were very genuinely satisfied with Juan's Diligence and Professionalism. We are very grateful for BH for having OUTSTANDING Technicians like both Juan A. and Hugo R.. I initially chose BH Garage Door Company expecting reliable service, but unfortunately, my experience has been quite disappointing. The initial purchase and installation were significantly delayed, despite receiving weekly promises that the door would arrive "soon." These assurances turned out to be misleading, and I was left waiting far longer than expected. After finally receiving the door and speaking with the owner, I decided to give the company another chance by purchasing an additional motor. Regrettably, just a few months later, the door started making a concerning noise during operation. BH came out and sprayed the track system with the promise the problem would be resolved, just a week or so later the problem persisted. When I contacted the company about this issue, they refused to waive the service fee--even in light of the inconveniences and delays I had already endured as a customer. I had hoped for better accountability and customer service, especially after placing multiple orders. Unfortunately, based on my experience, I would hesitate to recommend BH Garage Door Company to others. read more

The springs over my garage door broke on New Years Eve night. On New Years day I did what anyone would do, go to google to find a company that serve my area with the best reviews. I spent hours and when I got to BH, though im not sure if BH was the company listed,. I am sure that I read every review and each review was better and better and all my questions were answered. I decided to call with hopes of leaving a voicemail since it was a holiday. To my surprise, they answered and scheduled my service the same day. I thought they would over charge me since it was a holiday. I was assured the charges are the same and a technician would come and give a free estimate. The technician, Rodolfo Carrillo, showed up and the estimate was the exact price I expected. He was very knowledgeable and carefully explained the problem and was very patient answering our questions. Rudolfo was amazing, he even tuned my door, and fixed the previous problem I had with my garage door reopening when I close. I don't even want to remember our past garage doors, it was just some horror, the noise was so loud that I even woke up from it. At the same time they broke endlessly, we changed the drive, springs and something else. In general, so that this outrage no longer continued we decided to change the garage doors as everyone's patience just burst. Unambigious selection criteria were noiselessness and reliability in operation. And it seemed to me that this company fits exactly these criteria. After searching the choice fell on a very beautiful garage door. They have a guarantee for the canvas and automation while the representative of the company assured that the doors will work quietly. I am the biggest fan of BH Garage Door. My Mom called me at around 7pmon a Friday in a panic because her garage door was stuck in the open position. She was spastic and said "You have to find someone to board it up or fix it or something. She just knew that it would be stuck open all night and people would steal all the stuff in it. I said "Oh lord, help me." I first went to Angie's list but they wanted too much info before they would even give you vendors names. I needed to move quickly. Then I had an epiphany........go to Yelp. I scrolled through Yelp, found BH who advertised they were 24/7 and called. I actually got someone. Please understand, we are on the South Side (Chatham) and many vendors don't want to come out here. BH did not blink. They told me someone would be out within 2 hours and he was. I was really pleased with the BH Garage Door company. We recently had to replace our garage door opener. I called several companies and BH replied and said they can have someone here within the next three hours and that the tech would reach out when he was in his way. I meant Jason the tech and after accessing the opener and answering a few questions, Jason was able to give me sound advice on a couple of options. I explained that I would discuss with my wife and that We would make a decision. Later that evening I received a text and email with the quote and we agreed to go with the job. Jason returned the following day and in no time our garage door opener was installed including sensors and outside keypad. Jason was professional, knowledgeable and courteous. I recently had a garage door slide panel installed and unfortunately, I was charged an outrageous amount by BH Garage. However, I want to give credit where it is due - the technician who completed the job, Brandon, was great. He was very professional and did an excellent job with the installation. The garage door slide panel needed to be screwed in and fastened to the wall, which is a traditional and secure method of installation. Brandon was able to complete the installation efficiently and effectively. Despite my disappointment with the pricing from BH Garage, I would recommend Brandon for any garage door installation needs. He was a pleasure to work with and provided quality service. I called because my garage door started slamming shut really hard for no reason. It's a brand new garage from the foundation up. As soon as I called I was greeted nicely and they worked with me immediately to get someone out. Even though it's super busy everywhere I was able to get a same day appointment in only one hour. Lucio came out and was super courteous, helpful, and informative. He broke everything down to me with ZERO bs about proper maintenance. My Garage door spring broke on Friday Thanksgiving weekend. Called BH on saturday, they showed up promptly on Sunday per the promised time. David the gentleman that came to fix the door was professional, explained what was wrong and the cost for fixing the door. They'll give you an estimate on the spot, and they'll take credit card payment after they're finished. They will explain what they've done. How is their pricing? I used them twice and can no longer recommend them, I would avoid and look elsewhere. On the second…read morevisit they replaced a spring, I complained it was noisy on opening and was told to "give it a while and let it settle" and that we have 90 day warranty they would come back out if it didn't improve. When they came back out (because it was still noisy) they said I need new rollers and cables. We declined to have the work done immediately to get other estimates and they tried charging a $45 service fee (for a warranty check). They then threatened to place a lien if we did not pay the $45. Actually insane thing to threaten, over $45 when we have paid them nearly $2,000 for work over the past year. In summary, their prices are high, their warranty is sad (most reputable garage door companies will give 1 year minimum) and their business practices are unethical and unprofessional.

I opened a request in the morning and Bravo replied within minutes with a quote since I added pictures of what was wrong. They came out quick to fix the door so I could go in with my day. They were great, very professional and polite. They cleaned up after they finished the work and asked if I wanted them to dispose of the old equipment. During the coil spring replacement they also noticed the cables on the sides of the door were getting a little frayed and showed me the areas that might break. They said they had the parts to replace those as well and I had them replace the cables as well so I do not run into any other problems anytime soon. If I do, they said the cool spring has a 3 year warranty and the cable 1 year. Overall a great experience.

Original the planned on coming out last week. Then the storms. I understood before my problem was minor a few nails before the old trip which was about 1.5 years old became loose. Poor installation. Anyways don't use this company. They became a big clearing house for 800 number. I don't see quality. Ok update. This is a difficult review to write because it is a mixed bag of extremes…read more It is my opinion that the tradesman who came was excellent. First class. He is highly skilled and knowledgeable. I'll know in a little while if the repair components he used are any good. I suspect that they are, I will also say That he showed up sooner than I had otherwise planned. My springs broke, and until my neighbor came to help me pull up the door, I was locked in my house and my schedule looked doomed, but I was able to get out and get on with my day and the tradesmen showed up as indicated fairly soon after my call. That's all the good stuff. My single biggest complaint is the egregious predatory pricing. they completely took advantage of my circumstances unapologetically. That single aspect, since I am also in the retail services business very much disturbed me. There is a strong aroma of private equity roll up here which rarely puts the Customer first if ever. so proceed with caution and if time allows shop around. I did not have the time And I went into this with my eyes open. but if I have the time in the future with a problem with my garage door, I'm not so sure I'd call these guys. If you don't care about the pricing they are probably OK. At the moment I will characterize this as apparently premium service accompanied with premium egregious pricing. So all in I'm going to give it one star solely because of the egregious pricing model. I'm looking forward to the owner's response if they will even bother. Perhaps there's a rational explanation and if there is, I will publicly apologize for this harsh review. Also note that on the other one Star reviews ownership did not respond. That is a BAD BAD indication. Proceed with caution.

This latest visit required a replacement of the bar that raises our door (didn't know that until…read moreKen showed me). There was a crack in it, which resulted in the door not being able to go up. As a result of that issue, the bar that is attached to the door bent due to the strain of the extra weight of trying to life the door. As this occurred on a Sunday night, I went online and easily scheduled an appointment. I liked that I was able to attach photos to show what the issue was before they showed up. Based on the availability of the technicians, you can select the 4 hour window on the day you want. I opted for the 8 am - 12 pm window. Ken Kohlbeck called at 7:25 am to let me know he was about 25 minutes out from arriving at my house. We have a pass through door for the inner garages in our building, but Ken could not get his van in there. While he was parked in the alley, he was considerate in making sure that other cars could get pass him. Ken showed me what the real issue was with the door not going up. I thought it was due to the bar attached to the door, but in fact the bar across the door that takes the majority of the weight was the issue. Ken got to work and took care of the issue in under an hour. He was professional and pleasant to chat with. He explained the repair and made some recommendations for preventative maintenance, which I will schedule for a later day. I thought I could have it done at that time, but Ken did not have enough of the required parts with him. Visit was completed with Ken testing the repairs before leaving and I was happy at the work and the efficiency in Ken's execution as I was working from home and have meetings scheduled for the morning. Again, I am hoping nothing else goes wrong with my doors, but if they do, this is the place I am calling.
