Very very shady overall experience. First it was extremely expensive to replace two springs plus labor. I was charged $175 a piece and $250 labor for a 50 minute job. The tech kept pushing for cash and offered a cash discount. When I told him that I had no cash, he got on the phone with his boss. After a few attempts for venmo, zelle, half cash half credit, and even offering to take me to the atm, I outright just told him that I'm only doing credit. Without any negotiations, this company still bested their main competitor by $20 and for a better product -- a "premium" Liftmaster as opposed to the competition's "contractor" grade unit. I've dinged them one star because the second technician arrived without a part needed for the job, so after waiting on him, I waited another day for the third -- Diego, who did a fabulous job. Thanks to other reviews on yelp, we made the right decision to call BH Garage Door when a spring broke on our garage door Saturday night. When we called BH garage door repair, to our surprise, the phone was answered immediately. We spoke with someone and were assured they would repair our garage door the following day, Sunday. We were given an estimate on arrival time and price range for the repair. When Nathaniel arrived, he informed us that he did not have the springs that were necessary to repair our door as we have an oversized door that needs stronger springs.. He assured us that he had the correct springs in his warehouse and would go get them and return within an hour. Sure enough, that's exactly what happened. . We were impressed with the speed and accuracy of the repair. Nathaniel even called 2 days later to make sure that the door was working properly. Stranded by garage door troubles? Call BH Garage as I did! I had the misfortune of having this problem on a late Saturday afternoon; of course it has to be on a weekend. Problems never happen at a convenient time. I quickly got on yelp looking for help from any of my fellow yelpers. Called a couple of companies and got answering services requesting to leave a message. It seemed like they did not work on weekends. Although it was after 6 pm when I called DH Garage Door, I was able to speak to someone and get an appointment for the next day, Sunday between 10 and 12 noon; So far, so good. Sometime around noon, Nathaniel arrived; imagine my disappointment when he tells me that he did not have the springs my door required with him; (we have an oversized garage door that requires bigger springs). He assured me he had the correct springs in the shop and that he would go get them and return within an hour. The skeptic in me was telling me that he was not coming back, but, 50 minutes later he was, and everything went smoothly from there. He completed the repairs efficiently and professionally. The door is now well balanced; (something that was not done with the previous repair). He also did not try to sell me anything else, and stayed within the price range he quoted over the phone. I was already satisfied with the repair when I received a phone call from Nathaniel on Tuesday evening. He wanted to insure that the garage door was working correctly. He apologized for being late, not having the correct springs when he first arrived, and offered a credit for the inconvenience. Nice and easy service. Had a call out to a commercial store. I was not there when they came out because they originally gave me a time frame but came much earlier than the time frame. I originally called them out to fix the bottom of my door that was dented and opened, that was not fixed. We were told the piece that needed to be replaced was discontinued and we would need to replace the entire door. But the work was great, our overhead door is much stronger and doesn't lag when we are trying to open it. It was about $275 for the work. I had BH and several other companies out to fix a broken spring on our garage door. Just like everyone else, the polar vortex was not kind to our garage door (or our roof, plumbing, etc), and BH was very responsive and came out the same day we called them (after I sent another company away because I felt they were ripping me off). After two different companies came out to look at the spring, we realized we needed a new door, opener, etc. BH estimated the door for us and we decided to go with them. Their office person (Nathanial) was great, he helped me make sure I got the right door and that our order was correct. I finally figured out what I wanted and the order was in!
