I was entertaining on Sunday October 24th. My party of three had reservations for a table with a grill. We had Gun Man Doo, excellent, very flavorfull. My son noodle dish with beef added per his request was very good. Management needs to examine their business plan. I felt rushed. I moved my grill items so the waitress could not touch/ load them on the grill. I want hot food when I am ready to eat it. Let me enjoy my side items, taste entrees my friends ordered, and talk to each other. She just wanted to turn off the grill ASAP. Come on dinner should be a leisurely time to enjoy each other's company. I suggest you let your waitress load your grill intially then only make suggestions on what to add to the grill next, such as sweet potato, onion, and mushrooms. I used to only come here when I had alot of time to spend at lunch (I mean a meeting with a client.. uhh) but now they have a QUICK lunch special! All of the Korean delights such as potatoes, kim chi, etc come with the lunch specials as an appetizer/side dish. They have a smaller portion hot stone bowl, sometimes also including a soup. It's a great Korean and Japanese place. I've been there twice and really liked it. The Korean menu is varied and offers authentic dishes, some of them spicy. Bibimbap with beef is a must try: it's a bowl of rice with vegetables, need, egg and the distinctive spicy Korean sauce. It comes in a stone bowl that'll keep the food warm even when you're done with it. Everytime you order, some side dishes are served for the whole table like broccoli, cabbage, seaweed and potatoes on a sweet sauce (AMAZING!!) Took us forever to find this place but it was totally worth it! I didn't even know that atrium existed! I like the interior and atmosphere of the restaurant. -Kalbi beef BBQ: AMAZING! Really juicy, fatty and flavorful. I've only been to one other Korean BBQ place, and at that place the diners bbq their own meat, whereas here the server did it for us. Idk if that's standard, maybe cause we're not Asian she thought we'd be clueless xD. Either way it was divine :) -Bi Bim Bap w/ beef: so good. Best bi bim bap I've had outside of Ann Arbor...maybe ever better. Can't wait to get this again. It came with a ton of good appetizers, some that I've never had with my bi bim bap at other places. -Sushi: very good. As others had said, this is very hidden away. To get to it, you need to go to the far side of the downtown Novi building, go inside where the escalators are, walk in, down the hall, make the first right and you will see it. Once you have found it, you will be pleasantly surprised! They have a very clean restaurant with a modern atmosphere. They have a good appetizer menu with plenty to choose from as well as a wide variety of beer (bottled other than one Korean brand on tap) and spirits. The food is very fresh and they have a huge entree menu with both Korean and Japanese. I had the Chicken Bibimbab. It was my first time ever trying Korean food, and I have to say, I am a big fan! It came with a generous portion with plenty of sides, and I was very full by the end. I added a side of Kimchi because I have always wanted to try it, but I must say, it just wasn't for me. It has a very powerful flavor and is quite spicy. That being said, it was presented well and looked as I expected, so I believe my dislike of it was simply my own tastes and not at all the fault of the cooks. The place had plenty of customers but was well spaced out and never suffered from feeling too crowded, even though I went at the peak of lunchtime. As for the price, it was slightly higher than I had anticipated. Do not expect casual dining prices, as this place is slightly more upscale. For my entree, spring roll and a pitcher of the Korean beer on tap my total came to $38.00. Still, I would very much recommend this place to anyone who likes authentic Korean or Japanese cuisine. I came here for an early dinner with my cousin yesterday. It was a little hard to find (enter on the side closest to 29 and park on Main st) but once we did we were seated right away... Cute little place inside of the atrium. We ordered: brisket (silk), pork belly, and shrimp (sides included, of course) Everything was delicious and moderately priced (about $20 per item). I will say the only downer was that we were pretty much rushed out at the end. At one point, our waitress adjusted the bill on the table to make it more visible to us. I'm sure if she had to come back and our cards weren't out, she would have slapped us with it LOL. But it had been a while and our 1.5 hrs dining time was much needed. So, as y'all know, I'm Asian--Vietnamese to be exact, so I'm no stranger to the world of Korean Barbecue where delectable meats are cooked to personal taste on a grill and things are shared family style (aka my kind of style). I've been to Korean BBQ in several states. NEVER in my life would I have ever imagined that I would rave about a place in Michigan for KBBQ as much as I do now. It's really in their marinade. Bi Bim Bab's meats are marinated to give them such a unique and delicious flavor. My group ordered the angus kalbi and another kind of kalbi. All in all, I can't rave about this place enough. You know that feeling when you eat at a good place that serves high quality meat? (The feeling shouldn't be that you stuffed your face and belly. The perfect feeling is when you're just "satisfied." What I liked: - Their sushi prices are pretty cheap and they taste pretty good. Overall, I felt that the service, prices of the kbbq and the quality of the meat was lacking. I would not come back because there are other higher quality KBBQ for similar prices. Major concerns: 1. The prices of the BBQ: We paid $28 for a plate of chadol meat and it was not enough to really feed even 2 people. Also, we paid $20 for a plate of marinated Bulgogi and the quality of the meat was horrible. You could probably get a plate of cooked bulgogi at another Korean restaurant for $10. Overall what annoyed me the most was the expensive prices for the quantity and the quality of meat that we received. 2. Service: The service that we received from our waitress was subpar (she was not very considerate). She didn't refill our cups with water. Place was packed but we got a table fairly quickly because we didn't use one of the tables with the grill. Ended getting bibimbap, a soup, and a couple side dishes/salad. Taste - 4/5 - everything was good. Bibimbap was our favorite and ranks up there with the other korean restaurants we've had in metro detroit. Value - 1/5 - $15 for a bowl of bibimbap is a little ridiculous. I've never paid more than $11 for one until now. Other items on the menu are similarly priced and expensive. Service - 1/5 - This was the part that was unforgivable and ruined our experience. Every time we needed something we would have to get out of our seats and flag someone down because our waiter never came. Took over 10 minutes to just get an extra seat for our table. My family has been going to this restaurant for 18+ years! It's my favorite Korean restaurant in Michigan. The owners have always been extremely friendly and consistent in their hospitality. The food is always great quality and delivers authentic flavors. Honestly, I can't remember ever having a dish I didn't like here. I recommend any of the KBBQ - we usually do beef. It comes with banchan (side dishes) that are all tasty and fresh. Not all restaurants have good banchan! My favorites here have always been the green salad, potato salad and kimchi. Some other dishes we love are the soondubu jjigae, mandu dumplings, unagi (eel) entree! You also can't go wrong with the bibimbab and I even really enjoy their sushi rolls. Let's see - where to begin. I made a birthday dinner reservation for my sister's 21st birthday for 12 for 7:30pm. I called at about 7 and let them know that we would be there at 8:30pm and that we were running a bit late because we had to coordinate our group. Upon getting there I was greeted by a lady that scolded me in front of everyone for us being late. After being seated, she continued to scold us loudly as if we were her 10-year old kids, for pushing the time back and for only having 8 people instead of the 12. Upon seeing we were a smaller group, they had us get up and re-seat ourselves, TWICE, according to their liking. They claim they lost business out loud to us in a rude fashion, yet I looked around and the place was only at about 2/3 capacity - so how is it possible that our underestimation by 4 seats affected anything? Great start to my sister's 21st birthday dinner! When the same lady waitress took our orders, she rushed us through without answering any questions, even though she knew it was clearly our first time there. In fact she decided to scold us AGAIN and talk to us with utter disappointment over the group being smaller than she thought it would be. It was very uncomfortable. The miso soup they brought out while we waited was very typical - pretty much just lukewarm broth with literally 2 sprouts and some MSG in it. When our Bi Bim Bab dishes came out - the cooked beef versions had an amount of beef that Taco Bell uses on ONE $1 crunchy taco! I'm not exaggerating. It was a dish of good ingredients - a great medley of veggies, an egg, and sticky rice all in a hot pot with fresh side dishes, but when I saw what a LACK of meat there was, I was appalled. I dished out $3 for an extra side of ground beef that my girlfriend and I split into our bowls - this made it meaty enough. After pouring a 1/2 cup of their hot sauce into it - I was able to bring some flavor out of the Bi Bim Bab. One of our guests saw the egg and said he didn't like egg and asked for it to be removed from the dish - so the lady said, "It's OK you don't notice the egg just mix it all in," as she mixed it for him without him inviting her to do so. We did get a kick out of this as we laughed at his shock. We are ethnic too, so to some extent we found this lady amusing, but being as we're in America in a place of business, and not our aunt's house, to a greater extent we found her incredibly rude! The apples with caramel was nice after the meal to cleanse the palate. Here's where it gets worse, that's right it gets worse. They highly encouraged us to buy a carbonated cool-looking aqua colored Sake drink. I usually ask how much something is before ordering, but being as it was my sister's birthday, I got a round of 3 of these Sake drinks, thinking "oh, what the hey, it's my sister's birthday!" They conned me! No wonder they didn't mention the price! THOSE SAKE DRINKS EACH COST MORE THAN THE BI BIM BAB. THEY WERE $15 EACH! I COULD BARELY EVEN TASTE THE ALCY IN IT. Can you imagine if I bought the table a round? I'd be at the soup kitchen this weekend. 15x8x1.15 = $138 w/tip, LOL. Wow. Just wow. I got my bill after the meal and nearly choked on their stupid apple when I saw that the 3 entrees on my bill cost about a combined $33, but the 3 individual Sake drinks combined cost a WHOPPING $45 in comparison. Good Lord, Mother of Mercy - I have not been charged that much for an aqua looking, non-alcoholic tasting, alcoholic drink ever in my life. Not even in my trips to Manhattan, has a basic drink ran me that much. So my bill for my girlfriend, sister and I had we just ordered out Bi Bim Bab dishes - would have been about $35, but was upwards of $85 with tip because of those 2 FRAUDULENT Sake drinks! It was hard to even pick a pricing tier for this review because getting that fraud aqua sake jumps you a tier, LOL. Lastly - they said they would give my sister champagne for her birthday but they conveniently ran out and gave her tempura fried ice cream instead. Well thank God because that was one shortcoming in our favor, as the tempura ice cream was tasty. So all in all - the Bi Bim Bab lacks meat and tastes mediocre to mildly good when drenched in hot sauce. Fraudulent Sake drinks run $15, which is $3 more than the cooked beef Bi Bim Bab, and can cause you to choke on the apple they give you. Service is the worst I've experienced in this country (worse than Ed Debevic's in Chicago even if weren't rude on purpose as a theme), and the ambiance/interior decor is decent. I wish I'd really have choked and died on the apple the gave me after the meal so I wouldn't have to see the travesty of the $15 Sake drinks. But then they would send collections after my family so I guess. I will NEVER dine here again. I highly encourage you to have Bi Bim Bab somewhere else like New Seoul Garden. read more

Had a daddy-daughter day with my little 2 year old girl today. We took a drive to Novi to visit Pastry House Hippo & lunch at Bi Bim Bab. I found BBB thanks to Yelp (and the Where! app on my G1). Reviews looked positive enough, so I figured we'd try it out. Yes, this place is hidden. As a previous reviewer mentioned, it is on the back side of a BD's Mongolian BBQ. Search it out, though, the food here is excellent. The restaurant itself is pretty spacious, very clean, & well decorated. We were seated quickly & a high chair was brought right over - very nice. The menu is extensive & has pictures of most of dishes. If you're at all uncomfortable with Korean food, this would be a good place to start since you can see your food before you order. I ordered the raw beef bibimbab. Before that came though, 4 side dishes & some miso soup were brought out. The kimchi was some of the freshest, best tasting I've ever had. Laila loved the potato salad, which was sweet (I actually only had 1 bite because once she tried it, she hoarded the rest for herself - she's no fool). The other 2 sides were also good, though I can't remember exactly what they were. Laila had the chicken teriyaki kid's meal. For 5.95 she got the equivalent of a whole chicken breast cut up and slathered in a tasty teriyaki sauce, french fries, watermelon, pineapple, cantaloupe, & rice. Not a bad deal. I'd never had bibimbab before lunch today. Oh man, was it ever delicious. Served in a hot stone bowl - there was raw beef, raw egg, mushroom, zucchini, soy beans, and more a top of sticky rice. The server told me to add some of the hot sauce & mix everything together. The textural adventure this dish provides is incredible. As the rice cooks on the hot stone, it crisps up and sticks together forming these delicious little crispy rice cakes. Everything in the dish is so fresh & goes together so perfectly - it is like heaven in a hot stone bowl. There was green tea, ginger, red bean, & coconut ice creams on the menu, but we didn't try them because of our Pastry House Hippo goodies in the car. However, for dessert they brought me a slice of really good watermelon & Laila got a mini scoop of ultra-creamy vanilla ice cream. I'll definitely be back to try more. Went here for dinner with friends and left our name with the hostess for a BBQ table, which were in high demand. We were given a wait time of around 30 minutes. 30 minutes came and went, and I asked about our progress in the line. We were told that something had happened and that either our table had been given away or our name had never been taken down in the first place. That wasn't great, but they did get us to a table pretty quickly once they realized we had been skipped. The food was decent, but service continued to be pretty poor. At one point before we were finished grilling, a server came by our table and took away our only pair of tongs without asking. We flagged him back down again and asked for another pair, only to be told that there weren't any clean ones, and we'd just have to wait. When we told him that he had just taken away our pair a few minutes ago, he didn't seem to remember, but offered to give it back to us from the cleaning cart since "it's only been sitting there for a few minutes, it's still okay." Bi Bim Bap is one of my family's favorite dinner place as we can always find something we like on the menu - although we often go for the same choices - so we visit the restaurant at least once a month. The only reason why bibimbap gets 2 stars is because the bbq meats and banchan are very good. I have been here many times but I think yesterday will sadly be my last. I had the worst restaurant experience I've ever had in my entire life and I am not over exaggerating. I visited on 6/4/2016 with my mother for lunch, was greeted by a nice man and woman, was seated and then it all went south. Our waitress finally came to the table about 5 minutes after being seated and was very rude. Didn't introduce herself or anything, just asked "what we wanted" and then walked away after we ordered without saying a word. I ordered a squid appetizer and bbq lunch combo. After about 25 minutes the raw meats came out and the grill wasn't even in the table yet. 5 minutes after my meal came then my appetizer arrived! While i was waiting for the grill to heat up I was eating my banchan because i was so hungry. I asked the waitress for more and she asked me which one, I told her I would like all of the ones I had besides the kimchi, SHE LITERALLY ROLLED HER EYES AT ME, MADE A RUDE SOUND, hesitated and finally said okay. After that I pretty much just wanted to leave. But wait there's more. As I was putting my chicken and beef on the grill, the waitress came and took the tongs out of my hand and mixed the beef and chicken all together on the grill and walked away. I happen to be a chef by profession so I definitely know how to cook on a grill. As i was separating the beef and chicken on the grill LIKE I WANTED! The waitress came by again and took the tongs out of my hand and mixed it all up on the grill again and continued to stand there and cook my food for me! WHAT THE HELL! If i wanted someone to cook my food for me i would have ordered something cooked off of the menu for way cheaper!! I was so furious, this lady was so rude. Never smiled, never said a word, didn't refill drinks, didn't ask how the food was, just slammed the bill down and walked away. I am very sad to be writing such a poor review about Bi Bim Bab. I've been there 4 times now. The first 3 times the service and food was excellent, but this forth occasion was a horrible experience from start to finish. I came in a group of 5. I have some specific dietary requirements, so I asked the waitress a couple specific questions about the food. I don't eat shellfish, so I asked her about the Hawaii roll, making sure that the crab in the roll was in fact imitation crab, and not king crab. However, when the Hawaii roll came out, the california roll portion had a mayonnaise mixture in it. When I told the waitress that there was a mistake, and that I was not aware of the fact that the california roll portion of the Hawaii roll had maynonaise in it she had the nerve to tell me that she had already told me that earlier. Um NO YOU DIDN'T! You just told me that the Hawaii roll had imitation crab. She then tried to take the entire plate with 4 rolls of sushi back in order to fix the Hawaii roll. We had to tell her that we wanted to keep the rest of the rolls in the meantime, and that she should just take away the Hawaii roll. When the hot plate meals came out the waitress put a chunk of fat on the hot plate. Never in the past have the waitress put fat on the hot plate, so we asked her what it was. After ignoring our question twice she said it was some sort of beef fat. We explained that we have dietary restrictions and asked if we could have the beef fat removed. She refused. After our group complained numerous times she took the beef fat off the hot plate... and instead of dropping it on a side plate she put it right on the raw meats. From there the meal seemed to improve. The hot plate meals were very fun, and I was having a great time grilling... but every time the waitress came by she literally took the tongs out of my hand to cook the food. I mean I understand that she was trying to help, but she didn't need to literally take the tongs out of my hand. I was doing a fine job myself, and was having fun with it. I have, however, left the worst part for last. After we finished the hot plate entrées, a waiter came by to clean up the hot plate. However, he lifted the hot plate, which had some oils still in it, and removed it OVER MY HEAD. Luckily he did not spill, but it was absolutely disgusting and i was appalled. He balanced the hot plate on the back of my chair while he put the new, clean hot plate on for the next table. Overall, I was disgusted with the service at this restaurant. Bi Bim Bab used to be one of my favorite restaurants, but I do not see a reason why I would ever return. read more

These guys do good work! I lived in Korea for about 6 months and developed a healthy love for Korean food, so now every time I get a taste for it, I go to Bi Bim Bap (where I usually order, um, bi bim bap...) For those with less-than-adventurous palettes, the 'hot stone bowl' is a good introduction to Korean food. They bring out several sides (eat the kimchee! Do it!), and don't be stingy with the red sauce to spice it up a bit. If you've got a small group (4-6 people), definitely try the Korean BBQ. It's probably too much food for a one person (at least if you want to try a few different types of meat), and any more than 6 people might get a little too hectic at the table. It can be a little intimidating if you've never done it before, but the waitresses are always ready to help you cook the meat at your table and give you the basics of what to do. Don't be shy, it's a lot of fun, and the staff always likes to show off a little of their heritage. If you've got a responsible adult who can DD for you, try the soju. It's kind of like a weak sweet-potato vodka, but it's still got some kick to it, and it sneaks up on you. Have the waitress explain the finer points of Korean dining to you - you won't fill your own glass, but you will fill your friends' glasses, and they will fill yours. Very social, and more fun than burying your face in your phone all night. Overall, the food is really good and the staff is courteous and attentive. Oh, one more thing. To the guy at the next table in the U of M sweatshirt who asked his waitress to "send over someone who speaks American better": on behalf of the entire alumni association, please take the shirt off or stop being an imbecile, you're embarrassing all of us. read more

Hidden in a large building in the corner, this Korean restaurant is very good!! The inside is modern and we'll decorated. The menu is big with various meat choices for BBQ and Japanese cuisine as well. The side dishes we got were delicious and the kimchee was very well fermented. We had the galbi and squid for BBQ. It's not charcoal so you don't leave smelling like smoke. The gas stove still cooks everything well and leaves the meat juicy. The galbi was sliced thinly buy marinated so well. It was so tender too. The squid was also marinated. I was a little nervous getting squid but it turned out very yummy. Next was the soondubu jigae(seafood tofu casserole). The broth was the best I've had in a long time. You can taste the anchovy-based broth and it wasn't over powered by the spice. There were 3 Clams and some shrimp in it. Didn't find a lot of octopus but it was ok cause the soup made up for it. After my father and I caught "Gwoemul" ("The Host") at the Michigan Theater he turned to me and said, "Let's go get some Korean food." How could I say no? YES the food is so good that it's worth leaving the confines of Ann Arbor for Novi at 9pm on a weeknight! Ok, it was a free meal too. When I go I'm always coddled by my waitperson as if I'm a Korean food noob, but I don't let it bother me. Their bibimbap (bab?) is delicious, served in a hot stone bowl so the rice gets crispy at the bottom and you have to pick it off with the ends of your chopsticks. MMM. The real star of the show is the barbeque, which you prepare yourself on a grill at the table. Not all their tables have grills, but why would you sit at those? One word: bulgogi. I always want to try the kalbi but I end up going for the bulgogi. I just love the marinade, the mushrooms and the way the onions get all black and crispy. The meat is very high quality and tender. Also--they have sushi! Wait--isn't that Japanese? Well yeah, except for the lovely invention called the kimchi roll. It makes a great appetizer while you're anxiously awaiting for your heaping plate of marinated meat and banchan. I've always wondered why the ubiquitous pairing of Korean and Japanese cuisines beneath one roof. I've tried the sushi before and it's not the worst I've had, however this is not the joint to quash one's sushi fix. This place is Korean at heart and thus I choose my menu items appropriately. You might find the location a bit odd, situated in the back of a mall. It feels desolate. But on a good night, Bi Bim Bab is packed with mostly non-Caucasians talking and drinking and clacking their chopsticks. The restaurant is invitingly lit and an oasis in a sea of empty storefronts. Bi Bim Bap House is the best Korean restaurant in the midwest. Seriously. I thought it was going to be a Korean bbbap shack, but it's actually an elegant Korean barbecue restaurant with an extensive Japanese menu. The owner is the same guy who opened all the Seoul Gardens in Michigan, and he has really outdone himself. I hate to say this after having grown up on the Michigan Seoul Gardens, but this is better. The banchan is so tasty I need a muzzle not to gorge myself before the meal arrives. The kalbi is succulent and perfectly seasoned (they even have wagyu beef if that floats your boat). The "al tang" is spicy and will clear your sinuses. My Norwegian bf dug into the "yuk ke jang" like his life depended on it. My boyfriend and I went here for his birthday after hearing good things. It was his idea, but we both love all different kinds of food and are always down to try new places. I'm so happy we went here though- the prices are fair, the place looks nice, and service was quick and friendly. We each ordered the bi bim bap and were very impressed with the presentation, quality, and quantity of our meals. It was spicy and delicious, and we definitely needed to-go boxes! If you like this kind of food but haven't been here yet, it's certainly worth checking out. Or, if you aren't sure if you'd like it, check it out anyway :) Also- they have vegetarian options! The story I've chosen to go with is I dragged my friends to this place in a desperate attempt to get some quality Asian food while in Michigan. They may disagree with the details of how we ended up here, but I think we all agree that Bi Bim Bab was a pretty awesome food experience. Now, for both of my friends who aren't huge Korean cuisine people (other than probably Korean BBQ), it was a chance to introduce them to what, in my opinion, is one of the most fun meals in Korean cuisine. And come on, when you name your restaurant after bibimbap, you'd better get your signature dish right! And it looked and sounded like they did it right. My friends really enjoyed their meal, the whole mixing in the heated stone bowl, the whole thing. I think the only slightly disappointing thing for me was that the egg was already partially cooked on top whereas it really should be cracked raw when served. Minor detail... no worries. I, on the other hand, chose to go for pork, tofu and kimchi with rice. The strips of pork were tender and deliciously spiced. Buried under the kimchi, they absorbed all that spice and flavor. The kimchi, I do prefer it spicier than they had, but I admit I didn't ask if they had a spicier variety available. The tofu was just steamed until cooked, perfectly tender, but with enough firmness to hold up. Loved it. Also, the banchan they provided were all excellent. A plate of the same kimchi used in my dish, along with kongnamul (bean sprouts), musaengchae (shredded daikon), miyeok muchim (seaweed), and also what I think was deviled egg potato salad. Service here was excellent and prices were really good given the volume and quality of food. Despite a slight language barrier with the waitress, she was attentive and ensured a very pleasant dining experience. Also, the owner or manager came over as we were preparing to leave to thank us for coming and invited us back. It was a very nice personal touch, especially given they did have quite a few customers. Very good Korean restaurant, and depending on what you get, probably the best place I've been to in a while. At least as good as Tofu House, a bit better than Chung Ki Wa. We went here the other day with Korean food cravings, particularly barbeque. I still smell like meat. The menu has both Japanese (mainly sushi) and Korean foods, but we stuck with Korean, including a very good mandu soup and najki bokum, a spicy octopus noodle dish. Yum. All excellent. Banchan was plentiful with the usual assortment of side dishes, but not quite at the quality of Tofu House. Kalbi was great here. It's a little pricy at $23 per portion (USDA Choice, $26 for "Angus"), but very tender and well-marinated. I would skip desserts. We had a green tea ice cream that had a funny gasoline-like aftertaste and a ginger ice cream that was good but very gingery. read more

All I can say is thank goodness there are pictures on the menu! Makes it so much easier to know/understand what you are ordering. Best Korean bbq in Michigan hands down! Fresh and full of flavor. Unsure what these bad reviews are talking about.

Heart warming Korean food. After a bitter loss to MSU, us umich-ers decided we wanted to eat some Korean food for dinner. We made the trek out to Novi to Bi Bam Bab. We opted to get dishes for dinner versus bbq. My friend got the soontofu- she claimed it was too spicy for her (although...none of us are Korean...), but still, good. Her bf got the bulgogi- it looked good as well. I got some type of soup ("o... something.), a tip of pork bone soup...which didn't have much meat in it (a tad disappointed in that), but the broth was pretty good. I must say though, I definitely like their assortment of sides. So many and so good! The owner even came over to talk to us, after we were inquiring about what plum wine to get (I had never had it). He was super nice and friendly, which showed as well in our waitress and waiter as well (just an incredibly nice and friendly wait staff). Although I wasn't a huge fan of the plum wine, it was still interesting to try. I missed Korean food as there are no good places in Cleveland... so it was nice to stop by here and eat. read more

It's bangin! Lunch was 10.95 so 13.68 after tip which makes it more expensive than what I usually do for lunch. However it's such an impressive spread and the sides are all good. The sticky rice was very good, the potatoes in a sweet sticky sauce were very good. The spicy kimchi and sprouts were above average. I ordered the teriyaki chicken (I know...) and the spicy pork. The chicken was a bit over cooked but still tasted good, especially with rice. read more

Have to update my previous review. We came primarily for BBQ this time. The good: The quality of the meat is good. It tastes pretty good. The not so good: The service is definitely lackluster. We don't really expect a hello or how are you or anything like that but what we do expect is timely refills of things like banchan and the lettuce for the meat. The prices are also pretty high for the relatively small portions you get- all the more reason you expect things to get refilled at a reasonable timeframe. Also, the top plate on the table was dirty and the waitress literally wiped it with her finger in front of me and put it on the table in front of me. As soon as she left, it was quickly replaced by one of the other plates on the table. Overall, while the quality of the meat is good and yes, the food tastes good, the service is pretty bad, the prices are pretty high, and the portions are pretty small. Because Bibimbab is tucked away in an empty mall, without any exterior signage I assumed that this Korean BBQ restaurant was easy to walk right into and get a table - boooyyyy was I wrong. This place had a line out the door and after my meal I knew EXACTLY why. What many diners have already discovered is that Bibimbab offers a massive menu with authentic Korean and Japanese dishes including unique noodles, rice bowls, sushi and Korean BBQ - which you grill right at the table! It is a unique dining experience, to say the least! This restaurant is a little tricky to find - but the fact that it's popularity spread mostly by word of mouth shows just how good the food and experience is! The outside of the building DOES NOT have a sign for the restaurant. The best way to find the entrance is to look for the Agape Salon sign and go down two doors to your right. Then you will see a green awning...enter here: There is plenty of free street parking in front of the building and there's a free parking lot about a half of a block east. Once you enter the building, continue straight until you see an opportunity to go right or left - veer to the left and you will spot Bibimbab. Often when I'm trying a new cuisine I get a little confused about what to order, so I was delighted to find that their menu had pictures of EVERYTHING! It made it very easy to visualize their unique options and try something new. As you can see in the picture of the menu - they offer a wide variety of options...even delicious looking sushi! The price points are reasonable, ranging from $6 for an appetizer to $30 for their higher-end beef Korean BBQ. We ordered the Bul Ko Ki ($19.95) which was thinly sliced beef brisket, marinated in korean barbecue sauce. It is served raw and we cooked it on the table-top grill. The beef was tender and the marinade tasted like heaven. I would HIGHLY recommend ordering this dish. The second dish we tried was the the chicken bibimbab ($12.95). Apparently this is a very popular Korean dish. It had a variety of vegetables and noodles on top of a bed of rice and was baked in a traditional hot stone bowl. It was even topped with an egg! The vibe here is casual. Jeans and a t-shirt would totally work. Every time I have walked by this restaurant it has been packed so I would recommend making a reservation. The servers are very friendly and helpful in explaining this unique and delicious dinning experience. read more

Food was good but price is way to high for what you get. Meat is cut paper thin and barely get 2-3oz for each $20-24 plate of meat. The other non K-BBQ items were of decent value but that's it. 2nd time I went this year and felt shorted on the meat both times. This place was recommended to me by a Korean family recently. We were greeted warmly and promptly upon arrival and we were seated at a BBQ table with a huge extractor fan above it. The fans work really well - there was no hint of smoke or fatty smell in the restaurant - but they do make it rather chilly. We ordered drinks and apps and bi bim bap to eat. Everything was lovely and service was great! My only criticism is that the wine pours were quite small. The Japanese beer on draft was very good and well kept, however. This restaurant is located inside a weird combination office building/strip mall. Once you get inside the building, just look for the bamboo along the floor-to-ceiling glass windows. I had the soondubu jigae - a spicy stew with soft tofu, nappa cabbage, and seafood in it, served with a bowl of rice on the side. The flavors were wonderful, and the soft tofu was very tasty. My only complaint is that I didn't get very much seafood in the stew, maybe two tiny clams, a few miniature shrimp 0.5" in diameter, and a few scraps of squid. My friend had the dol sot bi bim bap, which looked really good. We got lots of great banchan - kimchi, potato salad, broccoli, seaweed salad, bean sprout salad, daikon kimchi.
