Biagio's is one of those staples for big dinner events that you probably have been to at some point in your life. I have never tried the restaurant but the food at the catering hall is pretty good. The decor at Biagio's is dated yet classy. Makes you feel like you are in a nice place. Our room naturally had a built in dance floor. It's that kind of vibe. Like I said, all the food was pretty good. Nothing particularly stood out as the best but not because of poor quality. Every food option at the buffet was satisfying. Came today for Easter Brunch buffet with family. The place was Packed with people showing up for their seating. I'll make the review short and sweet. The saving grace was the carving station. The beef and lamb were pretty good. The dessert section decent. The omelette station looked good but I didn't get the chance to try it. Eggplant parm was a sad excuse, and they had just brought out a fresh tray when I served it. It was basically soup, no texture or flavor at all. The cavatteli was another bad dish. Always a great vibe, delicious food, and wonderful service. I brought my parents out to dinner here for a happy house. During the week, their happy hour is from 4pm-7pm! Pretty long! And a very decent selection. We ordered a couple beers from draft along with the Pear Prosecco. Our appetizers were a homemade recipe margarita pizza that was topped with fresh slices tomatoes. A tasty twist. We also orders thw mozzarella milanese, which never disappoints. For our entrees, I had the shrimp/scallop/crab meat dish with garlic and oil linguini. I had actually asked thw waitress if I can have it with red sauce. She said yes, it's possible. However, the chef highly recommends the garlic and oil. My husband and I were in the mood for great Italian food, so decided to go to Biagio's, which we've been to several times before. I planned on having the veal chop Parmesan-- which is out of this world (I've had it before)-- but lamb chops were on the menu as a special, so I had that instead. My husband had the veal chop Parmesan, which, as usual was fantastic. The lamb chops were also delicious, served with very flavorful mashed potatoes, and roasted carrots. We started off with a Caesar salad, which was also very good and delicious garlic bread came with the meal. Biagio's consistently has great Italian food. We just had our 45th High School Reunion at Biagio. Nico our matre'd was amazing as was the bartenders and serving staff. They were so organized from helping us with setting up, to passing horderves, to setting up the buffet and dessert tables. The food was amazing. Went here on a Saturday for lunch with some friends, and the place was pretty busy. Their size-able parking was three-quarters filled up, so I suggest coming before 1pm. Anyways, the texture of the pasta was light and chewy, and the sauce was creamy and flavorful. I would recommend getting the shrimp addition over the chicken addition because they added grilled chicken breast, which was dry. However, my friend had a good experience with the shrimp. The sausage pizza was ok. They added a lot of cheese, and the crust was kind of soggy. But otherwise, it did taste good. Food came out a little slow, but that was probably because there was a lot of people. Overall, it was a good experience. Our favorite restaurant has changed. All our repasses were done at this restaurant. To be seated waiting for bread, even when the food came out, no bread. Fair rating, and probably will not go back. Went here for my grandpas funeral celebration and started off with fried calamari and buffalo wings as an appetizer. The calamari was crispy and delicious paired with the lemon drizzled on top. The wings were crunchy crispy and delicious with a hint of spice paired with blue cheese. The chicken franchise is my favorite dish over linguine, lemony, zesty and cooked to perfection. And the chicken parmigiana was a huge dish with burst of flavor. Staff was amazing and attentive. Highly recommend and the ambiance was perfect. Fairly priced, will be back soon! We were excited to go to Biagio's on the Terrace for Easter Brunch, we were sure that it would be good from past dining experiences .. but it was not! We were overwhelmingly disappointed! Our reservations were at 1:00pm & by 1:30 they removed all of the "lunch" items from the brunch buffet. So basically, it cost us $75pp, for a 2-egg omelet, 1/2 waffle, a small plate of fresh fruit and water, which included a mandatory tip - for little to no waiter service. It took the over-tipped waiter 20-minutes to bring us our over-priced bill. When making the reservations weeks ago, it was mandatory to pay $100.00 non-refundable deposit which was applied to the bill, but we were not informed that certain food options would not be available! They also had mandatory valet parking requirements, clearly something which was not well planned, after eating our $75 omelet & our waiter finally remembered he kept forgetting our bill, the valet wait was chaos & poorly ran. Patrons were grabbing their own keys to get their car & battled an underground traffic jam, with unoccupied cars blocking the exit. Never AGAIN! Thumbs-down Biagio's! read more

As a catering hall destination -- Biagio's makes sense -- most especially because it sits directly across the street from a massive cemetery and hence -- serves as a convenient place for mourners to salve their grief after funerary pursuits. I suspect that on such occasions most folks could care less about food quality. OTOH -- as a restaurant purporting to serve first rate italian cuisine a la carte -- it falls short of my mark -- especially given its promise and pricing. Sweetie and me have been curious about Biagio's for years. We live nearby and drive by it daily -- sometimes several times a day. It is always packed -- which in the food service industry does not necessarily mean the food is great -- although we assumed the possibility this might be the case. So last Friday night we satisfied our curiosity and went. This is what we found. The Room, Vibe and Service: Not fancy -- kinda dated. The bar and restaurant was jammed full of a young crowd who looked like they came in after work from one of the many local businesses, colleges and such to chill and down some drinks and nibbles. The volume from the bar was DEAFENING -- as in front seats at a Led Zeppelin concert loud. OK - OK - so I know my ears have senior moments but geez -- I did not expect my skin to vibrate from the volume. The maitre d looked annoyed when we arrived -- he literally threw tables and chairs together to seat us (did the same for the folks who came in after us). The seats were right next to the bar -- kind of like being inside a stadium loudspeaker. We asked to be reseated but he couldn't accommodate us -- which meant we were left screaming at each other over dinner for the balance of the evening. I was hoarse for the rest of the night and the next day. The Food: Catering hall food can be pretty good in my experience -- lots of fresh stuff being pumped out to suit ongoing large parties in their ballrooms -- and depending on the depth of the party host's pockets -- this could mean good eats at a satellite restaurant -- especially for specials. I ate the special 24 oz. bone in ribeye (at $29.95) -- which was perfectly charred on the outside -- but I ordered it medium so that the fat could soak through the meat -- and got it medium rare -- more on the rare side actually. It was tough going -- but the meat was plentiful if a bit bland -- the port wine sauce over the top helped with flavor. OTOH -- the sides I ordered for an up charge ( baked red potatoes and broccoli rabe) were simply awful. The potatoes were over cooked to a mushy, waterlogged consistency -- drowned in grease -- and the rabe was hammered to a grayish tint -- all you could see was stems, garlic and oil and it all tasted nasty together. This was bush league Italian cookery. Sweetie ordered the special house made lobster ravioli in a cream sauce -- and got ravioli with a pinch of ground mystery seafood inside -- overall precious little lobster to be seen but for the two tiny bits of claw meat on the plate that they just drowned in an uninspired sauce. At $24 bucks this wasn't worth the trip either. We passed on drinks and dessert -- the 8 - 10 offerings shown us by the waiter looked pretty institutional. All in with tip we were close to $100.00 for two -- and my area metrics tell me we could have eaten better at that number on Paramus Road -- either at nearby El Cid or Seoul Galbi -- assuming of course that you are OK with Spanish or Korean. Top Tip: If you must dine here -- try doing so on someone else's catered dime. You won't have buyers remorse and depending on how deep their pockets run -- and judging from some of the other Yelp reviews -- perhaps the experience will satisfy. As for me -- the curiosity (but not my appetite) is finally sated. ;) read more

I have tried this place twice in a month this past May. 1st visit the food was pretty great. The carbonara was delicious and the calamari was fantastic. My husband ordered Rigatoni which he was satisfied with but I honestly thought it was okay. The 2nd time I went it was two weeks after, I thought the chef had changed. The calamari was overly fried, the carbonara was extremely salty and Lobster Ravioli was just not great- no flavor and not worth the money. We were both very sad that the food quality wasn't consistent. I would have given 3 stars but I'm taking one off due to poor service and cleanliness. The restaurant needs more attention with cleanliness by the window seatings, the plates and utensils. I had to get mine swapped both visits. The older manager lady who was by the entrance when we came in did not greet us and we stood there for about 5 mins until one young hostess finally noticed us. I had a lovely, safe experience at Biagio's. They have opened up the rooftop terrace for outdoor dining and what a beautiful place to eat dinner. There was a nice fountain and a fireplace and it was just a lovely atmosphere. Food was decent, I got the steak with potatoes and corn. It didn't blow me away but the flavors were there. I would have preferred a different vegetable and would have rather had mashed potatoes or something else, but I understand with the way things are right now not everything can be offered. My cousin had the chicken parm and enjoyed it. Totally recommend if you're looking for the most perfect atmosphere for outdoor dining. read more

DO NOT GO TO BIAGIOS ROOFTOP EVENTS IF YOU ARE HUNGRY! We recently went to see the Benjamin's play and waited over 2 hours for food, had a guy taking unwarranted photos/videos the entire time, and then when we finally got our food we saw the Biagios softball team come in and get food in 30 seconds! It was some of the worst service ever experienced, and to top it off, the bill was hundreds of dollars and included items that we did not order or receive! read more

My friend had a bridal shower here. People working there were very disrespectful to the wedding party throwing it. We were told a wishing well would be provided. When they were not bringing one out, they said they'd make a champagne punch for us, as if it was in replacement of the wishing well. Turns out it's always been in the contract and felt like I was just being manipulated to feel I was getting something helpful for my best friend. The food was stale. We have been going here for many years and have always liked. Today was different. Look over you bill when you receive it. Gratuity (20%) was added to the bill when it was only 2 of us not a party of 7. If I hadn't looked over the bill, might have added additional tip. Plus of course additional charge for using a credit card instead of cash. Server said it was a mistake and they would reissue bill but we weren't convinced it was an error. We have been doing our Reunions, Paramus HS 1973 every 5 years for the last 40 years and always had it at a hotel for reasons of classmates drinking and not driving home. I decided to make the 50th at our old stomping ground location in 1973, Lift the Latch which is now Biagio's Ristorante. This was the best Reunion of all Reunions. Biagio's was outstanding. Zach the Maitre'd was outstanding, he couldn't do enough for us. We had a classmate that had stomach issues and he asked her what she could eat and made sure she received what she requested. In all the years of doing these Reunions I couldn't have picked a better place for our 50th. Many commented on the food and how great it was, they loved the atmosphere and the all around connection of the location. Many classmates moved out of state years ago and enjoyed being in a place that had changed for the better from high school. I had the classmates booked in the Fairfield Inn and had shuttles back and forth from the hotel to Biagio's which worked out wonderfully. I have been to Biagio's for my daughters bridal shower, my father in laws 80th surprise party during Covid in the parking garage which Biagio's dressed up very nicely with the tables and chairs to a repass or two. Biagio's has never disappointed, not one time. If I decide to do a 55th Reunion or many after that, they will always be at Biagio's. The classmates are still texting, FB and calling stating this was the best one ever. There were some classmates that had never made it to a Reunion and stated they were sorry if this is what they had been missing all these years. What a joke! $45 a head for Mother's Day brunch and half of the food looked like it was made somewhere else. And I loved the Entenmann's desserts all over the other mostly store brought food. Went to a nice party here. Lots of parking and very attentive staff. The food was was very good. They had a nice assortment of foods on a buffet for us. I loved the eggplant rollatini, one of my favorite dishes. The salmon was exceptional, too. The salad was a little unimaginative, but it's a salad at a function, so who cares. The drinks were a bit pricey for what was received and the house wine wasn't the highest of quality, but it wasn't bad.
