This place has the worst breakfast I've ever had! They're hash browns r repulsive! This place has gotta b more unhealthy 4 u than McDonalds!

This is my favorite place in the area to go for breakfast. My personal favorite is the biscuits and gravy with 2 eggs over easy on top with a side of o'brien potatoes with jalapenos. We have been here over 50 times and the restaurant is consistently great. The staff it is very nice and extremely accommodating to my family. My beau and I tried this place as to try something different. They didn't have a variety of cheese. I asked if they had bleu cheese for my veggie skillet. Nope. But, they have Mexican cheese. Besides "American" staples and very good pancakes they have a solid Mexican chef staff who know what they're doing. Thier "Mexican" skillet is right on served with tortillas to wrap them up in. I'm also a fan of the Potatoes O'Brien and the Corned Beef skillet is also good. The only down side occasionally I'll have something that feels a bit heavy later but maybe that's my middle age kicking in. The servers are very nice. read more

On this Monday I ordered the homestyle skillet. It came with potatoes, eggs, sausage, onions, cheese, bacon, and peppers. I had toast that was buttered on the side. My father had a country breakfast. Two eggs, hash browns, and toast. The food was very just ok. The diner was not very clean and the menus were falling apart and sticky. The service was super slow to the point you have to track down your server for everything. Unexpectedly, the meal took over an hour. Overall, if you have time to waste for some just ok food. We had breakfast here this week. Everything was great. Our 2 year old had great pancakes, I had corned beef hash and nicely cooked over easy eggs, but next time I'll get the Mexican skillet. My brother-in-law gave me a taste of his and the chorizo was terrific with those eggs and potatoes. Service was attentive and polite. read more

In this area there is not that many breakfast places that aren't fast food drive in shit. . Having a mexican chef, I would recommend getting something mexican tho. But overall this place is good, never had anything bad for breakfast or lunch even tho service is slow at times. read more

My husband and I have been here several times for breakfast and we both love it. Not only is the food great and the pricing reasonable but the service is excellent! I absolutely love this place! Although for breakfast I usually order the same thing (a Denver Omelet), I have had Steak Tacos for lunch, Club sandwiches, and their great soup! I've eaten at Bialy's at least 8 times. The service is DREADFUL. I mean really horrible. Today we watched the waitress tell an older woman "to sit anywhere" - they tell everyone that...they gave her water and placemat then made her move to the other side of the restaurant. When I paid my bill I said, "You know your food is always good, sure we had to wait today and we watched our waitress fill up coffees while our food was on the pass but what really got me - you making the older woman move - you told her she could sit where she wanted??" Jeez you would have thought I insulted her mother! Geering at me she said, "When you own a restaurant honey you can make the rules". She was rude and I told her so. As we were walking out an older woman and her daughter in a booth by the door said, "I'm with you honey - they did the same thing to me last week - not sure why I came back but this is it". Too bad really - the food is pretty good. I don't pay to be insulted or watch seniors citizens be insulted. Please - don't go to Bialy's Café Too. read more

The menu is definitely a surprise with a wide array of Mexican breakfast dishes you don't normally see on a breakfast menu out here in the burbs. The salsa is on point. The food is delicious, but, sadly to see - the service is seriously lacking. When a customer asks for a refill on coffee they shouldn't have to hope for a refill on coffee. Unfortunately, that refill on coffee never came. And neither did the check after staring at our empty plates for 20 minutes. It was also very toasty in there. Up the a/c please when it's hot out! I have been a regular at Bialy's for many years. They are friendly, and have great American and Mexican food. The restaurant is family owned, and the staff all remember your name, your children's names, and go above and beyond. Their tortilla soup and chilaquilles are the BEST I HAVE EVER HAD ANYWHERE. They also do a great job with all their other soups, and their other fare is standard, old school, delicious diner food. This is not some trendy, hipster place. This is a corner, neighborhood, family friendly diner. The prices are reasonable, and they are consistent every time I dine there. read more

I've been wanting to stop into this breakfast place for quite some time. As IL enters phase 4 of the pandemic reopening and restrictions allow for dine-in service, my family and I decided to give it a try. The first red flag of bad service was the absence of a greeter at the door to direct customers to the tables. Finally, a young lady asked for the number of people in our party and proceeded to sit us in a booth directly behind another booth with a group of people already there. So...no adherence to SD guidelines. It goes south after this. They are still using reusable menus, which they don't sanitize after each use. When the group that was seated directly across from us left I watched the woman who was clearing the table closely. She was an older woman, she was not wearing gloves and used a wet rag to wipe down the table. No spray or anything that appeared to be a disinfectant was used at all. The condiment bottles were not wiped down, and in fact, she took the last group's creamer bowl and took the unused creamers to place them in the new creamer bowl. That pretty much sealed the deal for me. We got up and told one of the ladies that we no longer wanted our food based on what we had just observed. She became belligerent and told me to "get out." I pointed out that she and her staff were not adhering to the CDC's guidelines for the reopening of phase 4. This is when she told me to "never come back." As a side note, while we were waiting for the check (I still wanted to pay for the drinks at least), we observed the same woman cleaning a different booth with the same wet rag she used to clean the first booth that was left unoccupied, once again without wearing any gloves and several customers were entering as we were leaving without any masks on. I typically don't write a review but I feel this restaurant is placing their staff and all their customers at risk. This is reckless and they are in violation of the sanitation and safety guidelines. read more

My husband and I decided to try this cute little diner, but when we were handed the menu we were also told, "just to let you know we're closing in half an hour." I've been here a few times because I live in the area and this is just a great all around place. First off they always seem to have adequate staff which is a huge plus. Because it is smaller your server is able to keep an eye on your table and I never had to ask for more coffee or water. One reason all of the dishes are great is they are fresh. The bake their own Turkey and Ham. I ordered a club with Avocado and Bacon and the Avocado was perfectly fresh and the bacon was done perfect!! My mother ordered the Pork Tenderloin which I tried and it was the best thing I have had in a while. One of the best brown gravies I have ever had. read more

Bialy's Cafe has above average dinner fare. The Mexican food is my favorite. Excellent homemade salsa for the Huevos Rancheros. I hadn't been to this place since it used to be Hamburger Hotline, but I recenently stopped back with my son, and was suprised at how good it was. This is a delicious restaurant owned by a hard-working, friendly, just wonderful family. The ingredients are all so fresh (had a skillet this morning overflowing with fresh veggies - spring asparagus, spinach, tomatoes, mushrooms,...), even the fries are hand-cut and cooked, and the chilaquiles is amazing (as are the guac and homemade salsa). The family that runs it really makes the place, though. They work like dogs and they're always friendly and go out of their way to be accommodating. Plus the prices can't be beat. The servers are as down home and friendly as they come. They make you feel like you are a part of their family. The food is great but the last couple times I was there they allowed an LOUD disruptive women using the work language to continue annoying customers. Despite asking to stop and by several customers - nothing was done. When asking customer to be more considerate - she began badgering customer & nothing done by staff. This is a neighborhood diner with very good food, reasonable prices and friendly service. I've only had breakfast and a few lunch sandwiches but I've never been disappointed.
