What a hidden gem! My best friend and I live close to 23rd and we walked it quite frequently last summer. We found this little hole in the wall restaurant one day and decided to pop in and my taste buds were so very happy. the food here is, in my opinion, some of the best food on 23rd. Nothing too fancy, but I do believe that it's done well and it's done affordably. They also have vegan options. The only caveat is, I would say the hours are really inconsistent. Sometimes they're open, sometimes they're not, and you just have to get lucky. Ha ha. But I think it's worth it, I'll definitely continue to go. read more

I lived in Los Angeles Koreatown for 3 years -- on the corner of Vermont and Berendo -- and I ate Korean food every day when I was there. I don't think I'm an expert, but I've developed quality control for it. I understand the standards have to be lower in Portland, where there isn't as much of a community here, but Bibi2go was still disappointing. JAPCHAE: The portions were huge, but by the second day it gave off the faint smell of being spoiled already. I think this had been sitting in the back for two days and was just reheated. SOONDUBU: Much better than the JAPCHAE, but the weird thing was the soup wasn't boiling when it was brought out. There was a raw egg in there, and a ton of ingredients, but it wasn't as hot as it needed to be. Overall, I think if you've never had Korean food before, this is for sure good enough. Between the food and the service, I couldn't be more impressed every time I come here. When I moved to the area and found this spot I was so excited. 2 years later and I still eat here regularly! The food is amazing but what takes it to the next level is the service. I have been to this restaurant multiple times since I am always around the area. Every single time the customer service is top notch, even on busy lunch hours. The prices are reasonable and the serving portions will more than fill you up. The usual wait time from placing your order to receiving your food is around 10-15 min. Honestly one of my favorite korean places in Portland. I got the spicy pork burrito and it was delicious. I usually cannot do spicy food but the amount they use was perfect. The burrito was huge, you could use it for two meals. Out of a whim I decided to ask if it was possible to get one of their dishes, japchae, as a side instead of an entree. Every time I come into this small restaurant, the family always greets you with genuine smiles. But the food here is always great. They do have some fusion style dishes but I always get their bibimbap which is great. Good flavors and the meat tastes fresh. The restaurant is almost always clean. I have been wanting to try Bibi2go for some time ever since I passed by this humble aegyo Korean place. I had some language and cultural exchange partners from Korea some years ago. Bibi2go rests along NW 23rd just down from and across the street from Salt and Straw. The entrance has kind of a steep slope being in a wheelchair it looked a bit difficult to enter. Someone came along and opened the door for me and I wheeled up the incline. A friendly person greeted me with a smile immediately and asked "Can I help you? ". It was about 1 pm on a Thursday. I saw another person behind the counter engulfed in some meal prep. I explained that I was not really wanting ramen today and she replied in her friendly manner that they have the other dishes and pointed to pictures of them on the wall to my left. I saw a picture with the words bulgogi it looked tempting and I recently read an article about a Portland chef that bulgogi is his goto. So I ordered bulgogi. I then said my one Korean word I know "annyeong haseyo", for this I received this simple reply back in Korean no idea what was said but it turns out she replied as she explained "Hi back". We both laughed a bit and I was able to practice my one Korean word. And the cultural experience was well under way. She showed me to the seating area, cleaned a table for me and moved the chair a bit so I would be comfortable. The table already was clean but she gave a quick wipe with a clean cloth. She said she would be right back. While waiting another person came in from the interaction he was a regular he ordered and took a seat. While I was waiting several people came in picking up togo orders. I could watch the two people preparing various dishes from where I was seated I was catching some drifts of the aromas of the various dishes. My dish arrived quickly. Served with a friendly smile. The other person behind the counter peaked around and smiled as well it seemed she wanted to say something but instead provided a smile with "Hi" when she knew I was enjoying myself. Probably not wanting to disrupt the person seated near us. The bulgogi which is a beef dish I was educated ordering. I had the choice of spicy. A delicate and tender maybe brisket cut in small pieces with some sweetness and spice real tasty. Also a mixed green salad very fresh with some sweet soy type dressing, a semi sticky rice and some type of noodles on the side. The noodles were tasty the salad was delicious and the rice...well your normal better than normal sticky rice. Served with chopsticks and ice water. The same person came by several times to check on me as well as the other seated customer and 2go patrons came to pick up their orders which were packed neatly in folded brown bags. As I was finishing I was offered more water. The flavors were bright fresh and yummy and looked as appetizing as they tasted. The mix of everything wowed me! I took my last bites and imagined coming back for more maybe to try the bibimbap, the person next to had that dish and the egg on top looked bright and flavorful. As I was wheeling away from my table the same person ran over to hold the door open for me thanked me for stopping in I thanked them back. I did not imagine this unassuming place was this delicious with great service and how many other happy customers came to pick up their 2go orders. The greeting were like...enjoy your day off or thanks for coming in to the regulars also some were delivery everyone was happy. Even though I live on the other side of the river, I am loyal to Bibi2go because they have always delivered fast, delicious food at a reasonable price. The bright colors and kpop on the TV make for a super fun dining area too. :) The food here is what it's all about. The kimbap are really thick and the pickles are perfectly crunchy. I was so happy with this place! I am here in Portland traveling and after flights, hotels, car rental expenses I was trying to keep to a budget. But the only reason I complain is because even with my biggest bite I couldn't get a taste of all the ingredients in one bite. So one bite could be mostly carrots with a little bit of lettuce.
