Overall a good spot to grab some authentic Korean food. The inside is casual but modern. The place filled up quickly by noon. There is ample parking in the lot. The menu is limited but highlights some of the popular items such as grilled meat, stone pots, and noodles. You get complimentary iced barley tea and 3 side dishes with your entree. Prices are on the higher side ($17-28) but the spicy chicken and bibimbap were generous portions. The food was fresh and tasty. I loved the presentation as well. Service was a bit lacking. There was only one young female seating people, serving the food, and taking payment all by herself so I felt bad but there was no warmth or welcome when we arrived and it was impossible getting refills on our water and side dishes. Please hire more people during the lunch rush. I saw the other Yelp reviews mentioning a free mochi dessert which I was excited to get but then when you get there, you only get it if you post a 5 star Yelp review right there which felt forced and rushed so I opted out.
Good food, good service. Their Bibimbap was pretty good I love how the rice doesn't entirely get burnt and too crunchy compared to other spots where I've had bimbimbap. We also ordered beef bulgogi which was very delicious, tender and juicy but was unable to get a picture as it came later and we were just hungry haha. Very clean atmosphere and cozy along with kind servers. A good spot but not a 5/5 for me because there was no wow factor that made me have the want/need to go back.
Wanted to try something new, so I wanted to check this place out. The wait times were pretty long when we came on a Friday evening. About a 30-40 minute wait. I ordered cold noodles and gomtang. Cold noodles were okay. The ice melted super fast because it seemed like when they cooked the noodles, they didn't wash it under cold water. So it somewhat diluted the broth. It was honestly very mid, so I'd recommend getting something else. As for the gomtang, it was surprisingly good so I'd recommend getting this instead. I like the barley tea they served instead of water, and the banchan was acceptable. The service was okay, they were fast with serving, however, they weren't too responsive with refills and stuff.
This has become my favorite Korean restaurant in San Diego! Salt and scallion pork is amazing as the hot stone brings out the flavor and fragrance of the crispy rice and pork belly. Yuk jeon is also delicious. Xena and Beck provided excellent service that really impressed us. We will certainly come back again!
Finally got a chance to try this! So glad to have something so close by and don't have to deal with the Convoy parking. We are promptly greeted by Xena and Beck and was provided the menu, barley water, and some side dishes right away. I really like their promptness with when we need something. Food came out pretty fast and omg the salt & scallion pork is a MUST order. Something about this place they have mastered not only the flavor but the crispyness of the rice. Usually people don't like the hard part at the end but here if you stir it from time to time the rice is very crispy in a good way where it's almost like a chip. The Yuk Jeon is a great appetizer - had about 5 pieces and it's really thin slices of beef with a light egg batter on it. The sauce is addictive and really enjoy eating it with the seaweed. Definitely a great addition to Mira Mesa!
First time eating here and I was totally satisfied. Came here with a party of four and was able to be sat right away. I did see a max table of 8, so bring your fam and/or friends. The service was friendly and they were able to give some great food recommends. Everything I ordered was great, but the LA Galbi has got to be my favorite. Ended up going family style for everything we ordered, but the soup is more of a personal serve. Parking is plaza parking so plenty to go around and free. Seating was all on the inside.
Stopped by Bibimboom for a quick family lunch, and we were amazed! We ordered four dishes to share between 7 people and it was just the right amount (with a little bit leftover). All of the entrees were solid, but I think the salt and scallion pork stood out! My favorite was the dessert Peach jasmine bingsoo. Shoutout to Xena, Hana, and Beck for taking care of us!
BibimBOOM! This place was a smash, had a great time catching up with my buddies here for dinner. It was a cozy modern korean spot and was really quiet inside. Started off with some complimentary tea and looked at the menu. I got their bibimbap and it was super good. Nice little balance of protein, carbs and veggies. My friends haven't dabbled in authentic Korean food so I'm glad they enjoyed it. Only downside was that their service was okay. We had a hard time waving down our waiters and they weren't super attentive of our table. Of course when we called them over, everything was fine. Would definitely recommend this spot to anyone in the area or visiting.
Yay! I found my new favorite Bibimbap place! A super cozy place situated in a very happening plaza in Mira Mesa. We were here on a weekend. Finding a parking spot can take a while. We were seated in a few minutes after check-in. Jade and staff were very friendly and attentive. We started with bonchon. Kimchi was too good. And then came the pancake which was pasty, slightly crunchy and absolutely delicious. Ended the meal with a hearty bibimbap. It looked so appealing and tasted so amazing.
I parked not expecting much based off the outside of the restaurant. Its in a very un-assuming plaza. But when you walk in it's so cozy and gorgeous! The decor was well thought out. You're seated by a hostess. Then they bring out complimentary barley tea, which was very refreshing. We ended up getting the bibimbab and it came out fairly quick. They gave us some kimchi and another side that I wasn't familiar with. It was a cucumber seaweed salad type of side, and it was also so yummy! Overall the portion size was perfect for two people to share. The only thing I would do next time is asking for a 2nd portion of meat. Will definitely be back again!
Food: Overall, the food was delicious. I think the only dish that we think we could have done without was the kimchi fried rice. It didn't really have much kimchi flavor which was slightly disappointing and the reason for only 4-stars. All other dishes we ordered were . They served a cold barley tea which was also really good and refreshing. Service: The servers were attentive to our party although the small party behind us did bot experience the same level of service and waited a very long time for their order to be taken and their food to be served. I did hear the server provide them woth free drinks and a discount for their experience which I thought was the right thing to do. Ambiance: Overall ambiance and feel of the establishment was standard. Othi g out of the ordinary. Decor was nice and simple. Although a bit far from where we live, we would come back if we are in the Mira Mesa area.
Food was yummy, menu was a single page, so simple yet the food was well cooked. Location has ample parking. We had three dishes. The LA Kalbi was perfect, the bibimbop oustanding. Small Korean restaurant in Mira Mesa! They offer complementary barley tea and banchan (sides) with unlimited refills. I came with a party of 5 and we tried the bibimbap, dak galbi (spicy chicken), salt and scallion pork, and bulgolgi. Everything was well marinated with good flavor and the portion sizes were very generous! Our server was very nice and offered us multiple refills of our tea and sides.

Came here Friday afternoon with some friends to try this place out since we've heard some good things about it. I love the aesthetic of this place. Well lit, open, and very clean when you walk in. We ordered a few dishes here and the food was tasty. Garlic eggplant, spicy chicken, bingsu, galbi, kimchi pancake, and naengmyeon. They also give you 3 side dishes for your table and serve barley tea vs water. Everything was delicious. Service was fast and staff was very friendly. Ps they didn't have their liquor license yet when we stopped by so we couldn't order drinks yet. Other than that, definitely try this place. Will be coming back to try the rest of their dishes! read more
Food is piping hot and delicious! Bibimbap is enough for at least 2. I like the banchan they give, although wish there was a bit more. I really like the cold barley tea they give instead of water. The service is a bit slow is my own complaint. Takes a while to get seated when they're busy. The bing-su was underwhelming and very small for the price. Probably wouldn't order the dessert again. But I recommend the hot stone bibimbap and the spicy chicken. Cute interior, casual dining. I've been twice in the past week so obviously a fan :) read more

Came here on a Monday night for a party of 2 around 8:30pm. There wasn't much time before they were going to close so we appreciated that they could accommodate us. I ordered the Salt & Scallion Pork and my friend ordered the Garlic Eggplant Stone Pot. You get free bon Chon (sides) of cucumbers, seaweed salad, and kimchi with your meal. The Salt & Scallion Pork was good! It came with an egg yolk in the middle which was a nice touch, it definitely cooked when mixing it in though because the stone pot it came in is consistently sizzling hot. I was actually really impressed by how long the pot stayed hot. It makes the bottom of the rice crispy! I also ordered the Salt & Scallion Pork to go as well with no rice and the portion was very hefty which I appreciated! I really enjoyed the seasoning of the meat overall and am excited to come back to try more dishes like their naengmyeon! read more

We came on a Tuesday night with a group of seven and were seated immediately. The food came out fast. The standout dish was the salt scallion pork--it was flavorful, tender. The beef bone broth, the meat was a bit hard and has certain smell. The spicy soondubu tasted a bit weird, different than others korean soondubu. Jaiden and Kayla provided excellent service throughout our meal. Interior is nice and bright. read more

This is our second time coming to Bibimboom and everything was just as amazing as we remember. The food was delicious, the place was clean and organized, and service was quick and excellent. The staff who served us were so friendly and attentive, I really wish I got their names. This time around, we tried their Bibimbap, Bulgogi, and Seafood Tofu Soup. The Salt & Scallion Pork was a top favorite of ours, so we got that dish again as well. Everything was soooo so good--very tasty and cooked to perfection! The soup was a little too spicy for me so I didn't eat much of it, but all the other dishes were just *chef's kiss* for me! read more
I found that the place that used to be here closed and saw people waiting to get seated, so I decided to come back when the wait was not as long. Got the salt & scallion pork dish. I love how the rice gets crispy on the bottom. The portion was decent as I was able to take home leftovers. I went with a couple of friends for dinner on a Tuesday evening. We were immediately seated at a table inside and provided with appetizer side dishes (cucumber, kimchi, spinach, and bean sprouts). I tried the Bibimbap (beef), scallion pork, and garlic eggplant. While everything tasted good and came with dipping sauces, I would have liked a little more flavor. Had a great time on a Thursday evening. We managed to beat the dinner rush by coming a little before 6pm. Josie and Annie were very hospitable and patient with us as we perused the menu. We ended up deciding on the bibimbap, seafood tofu stew, and the dakgalbi. This was enough food to share between 3 of us. The bibimbap was fantastic - highly recommend. The seafood tofu stew was also really nice to have on the side as we ate the bibimbap. The dakgalbi was a little difficult to eat due to the cheese being on the side but it went well with the rice balls. I liked the bibimbap and the seafood tofu stew the most out of the 3 dishes. The ambience of the restaurant was really cute. It would make for a very cute cafe space. If you're in the area and want Korean food, this is a great spot! read more
Really good Korean restaurant! Came to Bibimboom after finishing up watching a movie. The interior is nicely inspired with plenty of tables to sit. Service was really quick and attentive to get our order taken by Hana who helped us while we dined in. All of the food was really good as well! We ordered the Bibimbap, Kimchi Pancake, and Salt & Scallion Pork. My personal favorite was Scallion Pork since it was cooked to perfection and left us feeling full. During our visit they unfortunately did not have any alcoholic drinks, only soda which was not a problem (we really liked the barley tea). We left absolutely stuffed--Bibimboom is super generous with portions. For the food, we ordered the bulgogi and the kimchi pancake. The pancake was just okay; more like a Korean-style pizza with cheese, when I was expecting something closer to a traditional egg-based pancake. The bulgogi, though, was a standout: flavorful, perfectly cooked, and served sizzling hot. And the real highlight? Easily the best shaved ice in all of Mira Mesa. Good scoop of ice cream and it tasted liked coconut shavings yum! Not healthy but it's a good place to get your cravings met for some Korean food. Great service and it is a bit hard to park--the lot gets pretty full. read more

Well I came for the hype. This place had good reviews. The presentation of the bibimbap was nice as they use a thin but wide pot instead of a bowl. Service was ok. Nothing bad but nothing noticeably good. The big issue was the quality of the meat in both the bulgogi and bibimbap. Lower quality bulgogi is rubbery and hard to chew as was the case here. It was almost shocking as the reviews about the food were overall good. try not to give less than 3 stars unless something went really wrong. In this case nothing went really wrong but the taste of the food and the quality of the meet fell well below the expectations of the review. Wife had the Naeng Myun also and it too was just average. The bibimbap was average. So everything was 3 stars except the meat quality and that's the deciding point between 2-3 stars. I'm still trying to figure out how the reviews are so good. read more
This is a decent spot for some classic Korean food. The taste of the food was good. LA Galbi was well marinated, though a tad too salty that was balanced really well with rice. Dakgalbi was okay, not bad. Instead of water, you get barley tea which I love. There are only three types of banchan, which is too little and I wish there was more. Kimchi is on the sour side, but I'm not complaining. Restaurant was clean and nicely decorated. Service was okay, it was probably the thing I liked the least about my experience. There was only one waitress on during weekday lunch and it was obvious she did not enjoy this job lol. That's fair, she just made little effort to conceal it so which made it a little uncomfortable for us as customers if we needed service. Customer service skills were not strong. read more
I really, really like this place -- not only is their food delicious (especially the bibimbap and spicy chicken), but their portions are perfect; I always leave full and satisfied. Tried bibimBOOM in Mira Mesa and went with the Bibimbap for my first time having a dish like this. I really enjoyed it. The sizzling stone bowl gave the rice a nice crispy texture, and everything mixed together had a ton of flavor. The service was good, the staff was welcoming, and the overall vibe was pretty chill. Definitely a spot I'd come back to and try more from the menu. read more

We ordered the bibimbap bowl and pork bowl and both were decent and we loved how the rice got so crispy in the bowls. It's a decent spot to check out and it's nice to support a small business. I will say that the prices here are pretty steep. It was $24 for the bibimbap bowl and there was barely any beef which is why I can't give this place five stars. Note: They give you free dessert if you leave them a yelp review so be aware that some of these reviews may be inflated. read more

Bibimboom was much more crowded than I thought it would be! The restaurant was packed when we got there. We put our name on the waitlist, and luckily only had to wait about 30 minutes. The standout dish for me was the salt scallion pork. It came out in a stone bowl that kept it perfectly hot the entire time, and the sauce really tied everything together. The crispy rice remained crispy in the stone bowl during my whole meal. We also tried the kimchi pancake. The flavor was good, but I do wish the texture was a bit crispier. The LA Galbi comes with a side of purple rice, and it sits on a sizzling plate with onions. Some of the galbi unfortunately came out burned, which was a bit disappointing. Also, I wish the onions that it came with were more caramelized. I appreciated the complimentary barley tea. The side dishes were quickly refilled. My favorite one was the kimchi, but I feel like the spinach and bean sprouts could have been seasoned a bit more. There were only two waiters for the whole restaurant, but they did a good job balancing everything despite how busy it was. Overall, this is a solid spot if you're craving Korean food. read more
Cute little Korean restaurant inside a strip mall. Plenty of parking. Very clean inside. They immediately bring you 3 banchans and cold unsweetened tea. We both ordered the bibimbap with bulgogi. The stone bowl arrived piping hot, be careful not to burn yourself. It was a good portion of rice and veggies but could have used more bulgogi. If you're a party of 2 recommend splitting a bibimbap and ordering a bulgogi or galbi. A little pricey but for the portion it was fine. The rice got crispy while sitting in the bowl like it is suppose to. Would come again. read more

My boyfriend and I demolished a Bibimbap and Pork Gam Tang. The Barley tea was served complimentary and was some of the best I've tasted! We were served by Kyla and Josephine and they were super friendly and attentive. I will say it did take a bit long to receive our orders although I would attribute this to how popular/busy the place was. That said the wait wasn't long during peak dinner rush! read more

Bibimboom has stone, clay, and iron pot dishes. We came on a weeknight for dinner as we were craving delicious savory Korean food and were shocked at how long the line and waitlist was at 7:30 pm! Thankfully we were able to get seats indoors to sit and the wait ended up being about 30 minutes which was faster than the one hour we were expecting. Our servers were friendly and we were served cold barley tea and side dishes soon after we sat. I really like the menu at this restaurant. It is one sided and has all the available dishes laid out clearly with the type of pot. We ordered the salt and scallion pork stone pot, the Galbi and the kimchi pancake. The salt and scallion stone pot was the easy dish of the day. The rice had the perfect texture: crispy without being burned and soft on the inside. This dish was bursting with flavor. Unfortunately, my galbi had some very burnt pieces which was disappointing for a $30 dish. Overall our servers were all very friendly and refilled our side dishes and got us everything we needed but they seemed a little overworked for the volume of hungry diners coming in and out. Although this shopping plaza can get busy, we luckily had no issues on a week night. A quick look around revealed a clean and friendly restaurant and we were met immediately by staff. They provided us with complimentary tea instead of water but we were unsure what type it was. They start off with some sides which you can order more as well. They all had great flavor. We ordered the stone bibimbap which was very good. The only complaint would be that there was not enough meat for the rice portion. Some more veggies would have been nice as well. It came with a side of hot sauce and something else that we are not sure of but may have been dried seaweed. I would recommend adding on an extra meat plate. Overall it was a nice restaurant with good quality food. read more
