Pleasantly surprised by this little korean joint. Mira Mesa does not have enough korean food so always happy to go support a new restaurant! Located in the plaza alongside dunkin donuts, they are between vape and boba. Plenty of parking in the lot.. just hard to get out when it is post work rush hour on mira mesa. Service was great. Two young guys... neither of them korean but generally very attentive to the restaurant and kind. Great service always makes food taste better Ordered a bunch of things. + Stone bowl mixed rice was the favorite. Love the amount of veggies and the ratio was on point. + Spicy chicken plate was tasty and lots of cheese with the chicken. Could use a couple more rice balls for the dish tho. + Pork green onion bowl was generous in the amount of meat and well seasoned with the sauce. + Kimchi pancake was our least favorite.. but it was still ok to eat. + Kimchi was eh.. the pickle kimchi needed more kimchi power. I love how the rice gets crunchy and makes delicious noorongji.. crispy rice. Definitely left full and would come back!
We were excited about a new Korean place not far from our house, bonus that it has a pretty stellar Yelp rating. We decided to try it for dinner on a Wednesday night. Came here at about 7:30pm, place was full. Took about 15 minutes to get a table which is not too bad. I ordered a bibimbap and my wife ordered the seafood tofu soup. Food took a bit to get out, but our server did bring out bonchon quickly, just a shame that it was only a few choices. We went through 2 servings of bonchon before our food arrived. The bibimbap was presented very well, and came with a side tray of condiments, including the requisite gojujang sauce. Unfortunately there was not enough sauce, and the bibimbap was pretty tasteless. I took a few sips of my wife's soup and we both agreed that it was just okay. The interior looks nice since it was recently renovated, and the ambience was nice. The servers seemed very busy and only checked on us once after food came out, and only after we flagged her down. Overall, thefood and service was just okay, maybe we will come back to try again.
I was so pleasantly surprised by this place. It's hidden in a small plaza in Mira Mesa, and the interior is very beautiful. The seating was fast, and I appreciate there's not a ton of options on the menu. We had the hot stone bibimbap and the scallion pork meal. The food is very good, and I would come again. They also served barley tea on the side. Our servers were Hannah & Amelia, and they were fast & provided great service.
New Korean spot in Mira Mesa! Came on a Thursday night around dinner time and the restaurant was pretty full. Luckily the service was really quick and the workers were really nice! Thank you to Oz and Kyla for being really kind and providing great service! For food, my friend and I tried the Salt & Scallion Pork which was our favorite dish of the night. Also got the LA Galbi and the Bibim Naengmyeon which were good. A lot of food for two people but we did our best. For desert we got one of the mochis and the Peach Jasmine Bingsu which was amazing. Highly recommend the Bingsu! Overall a great edition to Mira Mesa and would definitely come back to try more things on the menu.
Love this place! We went two Friday evenings in a row! Every dish we tried was bomb.com. I am a fan! Garlic pork bowl - awesome Eggplant bowl - awesome Bibimbop - awesome & fresh! It is a simple menu, therefore it is easy to make a choice. Due to it being simple, I feel that every option is a solid option. The place is also beautiful, peaceful and clean. It is a vibe for sure, as well as Annie and Jaden. Also parking is plentiful.
Cute little restaurant in the Mira Mesa area, same plaza as Cali Baguette. There's plenty of parking but I'm sure it easily gets crowded. The restaurant is small but nice and clean; very calm and pleasant. The staff were friendly and helpful with the menu. We ordered a lot of food, essentially almost 1 item per category! Everything came out nice and hot, some items were even sizzling! It was delicious and we left content.
Came here Friday afternoon with some friends to try this place out since we've heard some good things about it. I love the aesthetic of this place. Well lit, open, and very clean when you walk in. We ordered a few dishes here and the food was tasty. Garlic eggplant, spicy chicken, bingsu, galbi, kimchi pancake, and naengmyeon. They also give you 3 side dishes for your table and serve barley tea vs water. Everything was delicious. Service was fast and staff was very friendly. Ps they didn't have their liquor license yet when we stopped by so we couldn't order drinks yet. Other than that, definitely try this place. Will be coming back to try the rest of their dishes!
I was genuinely surprised by this place. Bibimbap dish is very basic in Korea. It's nothing fancy, but when it is flavored well with the veggies and the meat choices, it can make or break the dish. I think this place honestly hit the spot. We arrived here as soon as they opened. The place itself was very clean. I love the aesthetic of the place. Bathroom was clean, which is always a plus. The service was attentive however, my meal did come out little bit late but now I'm being a little picky because I was hungry. I got their beef bibimbap, and the flavor of the beef and the veggies were great. if I had to pinpoint one negative was their spicy sauce. It really didn't have the kick that I was looking for. They do offer barley tea for free, which I liked. Their side dishes were just OK, but you are not here to eat side dishes. Honestly, just ignore that. I do like that you do have vegetarian option even though I'm not vegetarian. But having options are always a plus. Parking was good, it is shared with other stores, but I didn't have any issue and it is free parking. I would definitely come back and recommend it to other people.
Cute little Korean restaurant inside a strip mall. Plenty of parking. Very clean inside. They immediately bring you 3 banchans and cold unsweetened tea. We both ordered the bibimbap with bulgogi. The stone bowl arrived piping hot, be careful not to burn yourself. It was a good portion of rice and veggies but could have used more bulgogi. If you're a party of 2 recommend splitting a bibimbap and ordering a bulgogi or galbi. A little pricey but for the portion it was fine. The rice got crispy while sitting in the bowl like it is suppose to. Would come again.
We came on a Tuesday night with a group of seven and were seated immediately. The food came out fast. The standout dish was the salt scallion pork--it was flavorful, tender. The beef bone broth, the meat was a bit hard and has certain smell. The spicy soondubu tasted a bit weird, different than others korean soondubu. Jaiden and Kayla provided excellent service throughout our meal. Interior is nice and bright.

5/5 for our servers Jaden and Shelly -- they were attentive and prompt given a packed restaurant on a Saturday evening with 4-5 parties waiting at a time. Thank you so much! 4.5/5 for value and portions. We were full from the food we had and still had leftovers to take home. 5/5 the flavors were savory, clean, and exactly what we wanted on a rainy day. I just wish I could've chosen the spice level of my seafood tofu soup -- I'd call it mild 3/10 and would've loved a solid medium spiced soup like 5-6/10. 5/5 for the space and ambiance! It's a gorgeous, well-lit, intimate space. Our only feedback would be for more banchan. They had 4 kinds (kimchi, beansprouts, cucumber, and steamed veggie/spinach type of thing. Love the idea! The rice stone bowls were good with nice crispy rice at the bottom, which is essential for a good bibimbap type bowl! I take off a star just because of the prices. Also I would recommend not getting the bone broth soup. I was shocked when they brought a tiny bowl and the broth also had no flavor--all for 17 bucks! This was our first time eating here - we were searching for dinner options and saw all the rave reviews and they were right! We tried the mushroom cloud, bulgogi, and beef bone soup - all super tasty! Our 8 year old said the bulgogi was the "best ever in the universe!" The kimchi banchan was SO GOOD. Absolutely amazing food! Came in on a Saturday and got seated and served pretty quickly for lunch! The bibimbap is absolutely amazing and healthy! A wide mix of veggies with meat on a bed of delicious white rice in a hot stone bowl. The rice on the bottom crisps up for a delicious end to the meal! The beef crepe is a must get. It was beef in what tasted like a pretty egg heavy batter (PROTEIN RICH). Definitely coming back. Again ask for OZ and Hana, absolutely wonderful servers! read more

Great service, clean restaurant, and good location. The food tasted amazing, but I just wish they had more options! Which isnt saying much to be honest. Everything they had was so unique and not too salty or tasty. The only one I wouldnt order again is the beef noodle soup, which was quite bland. But I would definitely come back again. read more
Almost 5*, the Bibimbaps were very flavorful and perfectly cooked with crispy/crunchy rice on the bottom. Excellent Service, great food, well except for the tofu stew which was basically hot water with food color, lacks any flavor. Unfortunately that was worth 1*. Such a great girls night dinner! Jaden was helpful in picking options and was very accurate with the spice level for the dak galbi (3 out 10 if you're wondering). The stone bowl dinners were HOT. They also offered barley tea which was very tasty to try with dinner. read more
I love the interior design! The food is tasty too! It's fun to come as a big group and try a lot of different bibimbaps. I think my favorite is the mushroom one but they were all good! My second favorite might be the eggplant one. The service was friendly and you can ask for more side dishes. We even tried their bingsu dessert! read more

I appreciated the promptness of our servers Kayla and Hana. They did a really great job making sure we were happy and full! My son loved the food and that reminded us that the plates/bowls were hot. The kimchi pancake was very nice and had a gooey texture. I also appreciated the crispiness. The dal galbi was nice and flavorful and I loved the cheese and rice balls! read more
We stopped by a bit later in the evening but Shelly and Jaden were great and very helpful. Loved the banchan especially the kimchi. We ordered the bibimbap, garlic pork scallion, bulgogi, and kimchi pancake. Definitely generous and large portions for the bowls. They also give complimentary corn tea. It's a nice spot in Mira Mesa, but unfortunately, it still needs improvement. They could probably use another waiter, as two people couldn't manage the capacity effectively. We asked for water, but they brought us tea. It's not a big deal, but this is one example of where they could use an additional staff member to help with simple mishaps. Now onto the food, the portion is good if you love rice. I ordered the Bibimbap, which I thought was so-so. They gave a lot of rice and a small amount of meat. I had a few Bibimbap in convoy and know this wasn't a fair comparison, but this could be better. The rice to meat ratio needs to improve. Maybe I'll return in a couple of months to see if they've made any improvements, but for now, this is a disappointment. read more

What a cute little Korean spot in the already-busy-pocket of Mira Mesa (but with great parking). I was sad to see QT Pot close down, they had my favorite salt & pepper chicken wings. But, bimbimBOOM certainly did not disappoint. Every dish we tried was delicious! All thanks to the excellent service from Kyla and O-Z. It's nice to have authentic Korean food with a very simple menu on this side of town, especially after the tragedy that Tofu House was. And to my surprise, they also belong to SD Backyard Restaurant Group, the team that also introduced us to Steamy Piggy, Pho Nom, Formoosa, and Flama Llama (just to name a few). read more

We've tried to bulgogi, bibimbap, beef bone broth, and bi bim naengmyeong (cold noodles). Everything tastes authentic except the cold noodles. Authentic naengmyeong has vinegar in the broth and this was lacking vinegar. I requested vinegar on the side and they didn't have it. Please perfect this recipe and make it taste authentic. Also, the cucumber side dish tasted bland, it should have vinegar in it as well. Hoping this restaurant stays around so I hope they can tweak a few things. read more

We ordered the scallion pork hot stone bowl and it was amazing. The seafood tofu soup was flavorful and has so much stuff in it. The servers OZ and James were great. I like the clean and modern ambiance as well. The banchan dishes are a bit lacking compared to other Korean places. Overall we love the food. read more

This new spot shows real promise with its hot stoneware bibimbap, but it's clearly weathering some "new restaurant" operational challenges. While the staff is incredibly friendly, service can be hit-or-miss--we had one server who was nice but struggled with several forgotten requests. The Hits The Salted Pork and Scallion Bibimbap is the undisputed highlight. The stoneware does a fantastic job of keeping the dish piping hot and creating that coveted layer of crispy rice at the bottom. The savory pork and fresh scallion combo is a winner. The Misses Operational Issues: They were ran out of essentials like kimchi and even soup bowls during our visit.. The Sides/Apps: The Spicy Chicken and Cheese was just okay, and the Yuk Jeong (beef crepes), while unique, lacked value and didn't quite live up to the hype. The Beef Bone Soup: Skip this. It was underwhelming and significantly overpriced for what you get. The Verdict If you go, stick strictly to the bibimbap. Everything else currently feels a bit "mid" and lacked value, especially the beef soup. There is definitely potential here once they iron out the logistics and refine the side menu, but for now, the stone bowls are the only reason to make the trip. read more

Stopped in for lunch. The servers seemed a little overwhelmed but I assume that's just growing pains since they just opened, and everyone was polite and friendly. We ordered the beef crepe, salted pork, and eggplant. Everything was delicious but the beef crepe which is served with seaweed for wrapping was the star of the show! Rice on other dishes was nice and crispy and the pork was very tender and flavorful. Also like that they give you barley tea. Very clean comfy aesthetic inside. Will definitely be back. read more

my hubby and i decided to try out this place out. 1. customer service was really bad overall. we were not greeted at all. within a few minutes just standin there a random employee came in and told us to put our names on the waitin list and we will be with you soon it took like bout almost 10 minutes just to sit down. 2. food- it was decent enough to eat. my hubby wanted 2nd round of kim chi etcc. the waiter totally forgot to give it to us and was diffcult to get their attention again, instead, we decided pay and leave. while paying for our dinner, the waiter asked my husband how was our dinner, he said fine, but they forgot our request for additional kimchee. the waiter apologizes and stated they will pack some sides to go with our dinner. read more

Check in into new Korean restaurant. Jaden and Shelly were friendly, attentive, and very sweet. They provided excellent service and made me feel welcome throughout our visit. BibimBOOM! is a great new addition to the Mira Mesa neighborhood, offering fresh and hot Korean dishes. This fast-casual spot is bustling with customers and makes for a fantastic family-friendly lunch or dinner outing. ATMOSPHERE & LOGISTICS The dining area features a clean, wide-open, and bright design that comfortably seats upwards of 64 people. Given its growing popularity, be prepared for a bit of a crowd; we encountered a 30-minute wait on an early Sunday afternoon. THE FOOD The cold barley tea was a refreshing start. The meal was accompanied by three light-to-medium flavored banchan: spinach and garlic, kimchi, and cucumber. * Seafood Tofu Soup: Served with a fresh egg and mixed seafood. The clams and tofu were tasty. The broth is medium-bodied and not overpowering, so it may need an extra kick of spice depending on your palate. * Bibimbap: Impressive and comforting. It featured thin-sliced vegetables, beef, and a mild gochujang sauce served over a great bowl of hot, steamy rice. * Salt & Scallion Pork: The pork featured a great seared crust over juicy meat, centered around a fresh egg yolk. Similar to the bibimbap, it came with a huge serving of hot, tasty rice. * Beef Crepes: The fresh, thinly sliced green onions coated with gochujang sauce provided a great balance to the rich beef and crepe servings.
