For the price, the food is crap. If I'm paying a couple more dollars than I usually would for a meal, I expect much better quality. The cheese curds weren't fried correctly, so I got hollow breading with little to no cheese on the inside. And my shrimp tacos tasted like pure salt. And I love some extra salt, but this tasted like someone emptied the whole shaker onto these things. I couldn't even finish them and I didn't even want to give the leftovers to my dogs. Their old fashions are actually really good. But that's the only thing I'd go back there for. read more

Went for a fish fry this evening and quickly regretted it. Seated at 6p order taken 610p and served at 710p. The fish was cold and oily and the coleslaw was warm and putrid. Place was steady, not overwhelmingly busy. Waitress was absent and no manager or leadership present when the food was declined it was that bad. This place should not be serving food. read more

Terrible. Had a reservation, waited an hour, with the hostess telling us every time we checked that it would 'only be a few minutes'. We left. If a restaurant can't get the very basics right, can they get the food right? Or the sanitation? Save yourself the frustration. Topping it off, they said they'd send a text when the table was ready. Food and drinks are awesome, far beyond what you get at chain restaurants. However, when we went for brunch on a Sunday, service was horrible. The staff are super nice but they seemed to be very short staffed. It took twenty minutes after our reservation time for them to clean one of the many empty tables and seat us. Our apps and entrees came in a short amount of time and were very good. Our waitress checked back midway thru the meal and took a drink refill order, but the drink took 15 minutes and came when we were ready to leave. I'll still go back but might stick to dinner time. read more

When this restaurant re-opened in a very cool and updated fashion, my husband and I found the food and drinks to be fun. However, on repeated visits the food and waitstaff became less reliable. Our last visit, for lunch my husband's "meatball sammich" was dry and tasteless, the cheese curds that we loved before were burned. Our waitress was not responsive. We were looking forward to many more visits but are now unsure. They also wear their politics very obviously on their sleeves with both the bartender and our waitress wearing "Make Bibinger's Great Again " t- shirts. We found this delightful restaurant last summer and have enjoyed many meals there. Everything that we have ordered has been amazing both in taste and appearance. The staff has always been very pleasant and attentive. You will also enjoy its quaint decor and cleanliness. They have a gathering room upstairs complete with a bar perfect for meetings and parties. I held a baby shower for my daughter with a guest list of 45. Travis was the event planner and made sure that everything was absolutely perfect. We had two staff members one at the bar and one dealing with the food table and checking in to be sure that we had everything we needed. Can't thank them enough for making the day very special! Last night was the second time I have been to Bibinger's and had the same experience both times. The service was exceptional. Everyone I interacted with was great. The old fashions are some of the best I've ever had. But the food is just not good. My daughter had the Mac-n-cheese and they somehow screwed up the prep work on it because it tasted like lemon. Strong lemon flavor. The waitress did have something else made for my daughter and did not charge us, as clearly Mac-n-cheese is not suppose to taste like lemon. My boyfriends fish fry was also not great. Over cooked and very fishy tasting. The bread was stale, and the coleslaw had zero flavor. He said his baked potato was good though. I had the Cesar salad. While I understand that there are anchovies in Cesar dressing the salad had an EXTREMELY strong fish flavor. I couldn't eat it. So I'm summary - Service -5 stars. Drinks - 5 stars. I read all the bad reviews. I have nothing but good things to say after a meal with 3 friends on a very busy Friday night. For the person who said the Old Fashioned's weren't muddled, ours was. Two in my party really enjoyed the Swordfish with chimichurri sauce, pico, sweat potato, black bean and chorizo. Baked and fried haddock were good - not awesome but I am picky. They were good. Hard to find a great fish fry these days. Homemade chips were awesome. Coleslaw was slightly creamy but unique. Great value for the $$. Atmosphere was great. I had never been to the old place. My friend told me they put a lot of $$ into the remodel. Nothing but great things to say about the service. Always room for improvement thus the four stars. It is hard to find vegetarian options as you move farther from the city, vegan options, even harder. It was great to see their quinoa-cauliflower salad on the menu. When it arrived, it was a lovely pile of arugula with a tasty ginger dressing, but there were maybe 20 grains of "quinoa" and two shaved pieces of cauliflower whose combined area might have equaled the size of a half dollar. Thinking it was a mistake, the server took the plate only to bring it back and said it was correct. It was a tasty little pile of lettuce, but hardly worth the $11. The bright side was the company was lovely and everyone else was satisfied and enjoyed their meal. read more

My husband and I went to Bibingers for our wedding anniversary on a Sunday evening. We had a reservation as well. This was by no means our first time there, we have been there at least 4-5 times and every time had a good dinner, some were even excellent. Not the case this time. We both had a cocktail, shared an appetizer then ordered our dinner. I had the Thai stir fry with chicken (I have had this before and it was excellent), and my husband had a 16 ounce bone in rib eye with mushrooms, pretty standard. I didn't have anything else with my stir fry and my husband had 7 very small red potatoes, and 3 small spears of asparagus that came with his steak. Nothing else. My stir fry had a peanut sauce on it and I have had it there before but this time it was like someone put a big spoonful of peanut butter in the stir fry, let it melt a little and served it. Some of the noodles we also kind of hard like they had been sitting all day. It was awful, almost disgusting. I tried to eat the chicken, which was not a full breast of chicken either, and left pretty much of the rest of it. My husbands steak was so tough he could hardly cut it off the bone. He chewed some of it off and said it tasted like an old dairy cow. He left about 1/4 or his steak as well. Our final bill w/o our tip was $91 and some change. The waitress wasn't great and we did explain to her how awful the food was. We asked her to let the chef or whoever know, waited around a bit, but she never came back. We were appalled because we have talked about this place to many people and how great the food is and it is all local. I don't know if we will ever go back. read more

Good food but they need to figure out staffing and when to seat people. If you open at four you should be able to seat and feed people. They wouldn't take orders until five when they say the kitchen opened. So right at five they had a full restaurant. They had five people behind the bar just standing around. The wait staff maybe had three tables each and were standing around most of the time. Runners were busy but never brought out soup that was ordered. They will need to figure out staffing or they will never make it on the long run. Over staffed and very slow. Overhead costs will not make it profitable in the long run. Great food but staffing and responsibilities really need some work. read more

Great Food, Really good Old Fashions! My first time here was at the soft opening. I must say I was pleasantly surprised with the food. Very fresh tasting, and high quality. My wife and I both had the Braised Beef Short Ribs. Outstanding! My son had the Chicken Enchiladas, he was impressed. Our waitress was very nice and caring. The only reason I am giving 4 stars instead 5, is because it was a bit noisier than I like, otherwise it would be a definite 5 star. read more

Last night my friends and I had the absolute pleasure of dining here. We cannot say enough about how amazing our experience was. From the delicious fall of my fork short ribs to the "these are better than state fair cheese curds." And not to mention how perfect of a place for Wednesday night ladies night "Wino Wednesday". ;) It's always such a great feeling to walk into a restaurant and feel welcomed. Your bar staff was extremely friendly and cheerful! Our server, Mike also extremely friendly and very helpful when it came to ordering. I was extremely happy I went with his suggestion to get the short ribs. He always came to our table with a smile, even though we kept reminding him how much we hated the Cubs! ;) I would like to again say how happy I was with our experience and will be spreading the word that you are a must go to place. Headline: The food and beer were good but the service needs to improve quickly. Arrived 15 minutes prior to our reservation but still had to wait over an hour to be seated. Then it took another hour for our food to come out and some was good, but the perch was all batter and overcooked. This restaurants food so well made with great ingredients. I've had the fish fry which wasn't oily. I've never liked old fashioned but the tequila old fashioned was so good with just right amount of cherry. The Sunday brunch I had a breakfast burrito. It was so big. I couldn't finish. The bloody marry was just the right amount of spice and not to salty like some bloody Mary's. I leave so full. read more
