I really, really want to love Bibingers, it just hasn't had the wow factor. I've tried a main dish, a specialty drink, and they are not bad, but they are not great either. It's the price point as well. Had the fish fry last night, again, wanting to love it, but it was ok. The breading was well seasoned but the fish itself was just ok. Not huge portions and not enough to really fill you up. The coleslaw again was just average. I love a place that takes the time on trying dishes, drinks and ambience, but for me, it's been disappointing on the food twice. Ok we went on a sat night. 5:30 pm there was a 45 min wait. Went to bar. Drinks very expensive. A 10 Ounce draft beer was $6-7. Got seated within 30 min. Waited an hour with no food Or explanation. Finally manager cane and said she knew we ordered steaks. One of us did. Apparently the steak was overcooked, so they were making a new one and apparently that takes an hour. Wondering if they remade the schnitzel too since that would've been cold. Spaetzle was hard dry overcooked. Yuck. But we were starving and ate it. Cauliflower was roasted overly brown. Manager offered me a drink. Didn't say whether it was on house. It was. Steak good but I was weary from waiting. An hour is too long. Server never checked in. Prices steep so not ok. The Steak was awesome. PRIOR VISIT: Seasoned butter was slightly too cold-it wouldn't melt on mashed potatoes or steak. Offered us extra dressing then charged for a tiny cup. Allergic to cabbage so waitress said they'd sub in a side salad. Later charged us extra. Never informed us. Gave us the $2. Then gave us someone else's tab to sign by accident. Took some time to sort out. These errors and overcooked food caused me to drop to 3 stars. read more

Rip off. They hardly give you any food. Not worth the money. Food was cold when it came out. When I go out for a meal I want it to be brought to the table at a decent temperature, not send it back to be nuked in the microwave. This place is noisy as well. They could invest in something to absorb the sharp, blistering sounds that bounce back and forth off the walls. Waitress was decent. Feel bad for her...the backhouse may affect the fronthouse. ONLY COME FOR THE BUFFET. I had come here once before for their Easter buffet and it was very good. This weekend, I took my family back for Sunday brunch and was EXTREMELY disappointed. It started fine, we ordered our drinks and got them but after that we weren't served for 20 minutes. It was like our waitress disappeared. Then, we ordered our food and waited for another 20 minutes (understandable). My family all got their food except me. I was told that it was just being finished up. I got the ginger old fashioned and was hooked! For dinner I had the pork schnitzel. It was perfect! Lightly breaded and just right. We had the cinnamon bread pudding and chocolate torte. I loved them both but would encourage you to try the bread pudding! We will be back. Bibingers tells a story. With this being a restaurant with the bar next to it the environment is cozy even with the noise. We ended up getting there by 4pm not realizing the kitchen opened up for dinner at 5pm. The staff was nice to seat us and informed us that appetizers were still able to be ordered outside of the dinner menu items. I ordered the wedge salad with steak cuts, I asked for the steak to be cooked medium well and they made it to perfection. The way they displayed it on the plate made it look like there was not all lot, but there was more than enough to eat for the value. There was a small issue where two of the people I was with did not yet their sour cream with their burrito, but this was not a necessity you them and they said it was not worth asking about a second time. this is a restaurant I would suggest to anyone, if you do not plan on going after 4 make resurvations. theyou fI'll up quick, and we can taste why. read more

We have been here before and loved it. The old fashioned are outstanding but our dinner was not so great. Ordered prime rib and salmon this time, the salmon was very good but the prime rib was horrible. Cost was 45$ and it was mostly fat, what was edible was tasteless. Manager was agreeable and suggested the bill would be adjusted. When bill arrived only 12$ was taken off. Very disappointed and will not be going back. Steer clear of this place. read more

Our party of 4 dropped in on a friday evening and ate in the upstairs bar area. Aaron was our server and was outstanding.. Personable, informative, and excellent service. We had the nachos starters which were very ample.. Two of had the fish fry--It was was excellent--I had it broiled..with the baked potato--Not too heavy- Just right! We also had the Pork duo, and the BLT which were enjoyable as well.. Nice selection of Craft beers.. Reasonable --but it gets crowded even with the two levels. We really enjoy the new Bibingers. The renovations look great and the space has a warm and open feel. Since they are close to home, we come here often. There are about 8 beers on tap, and the bloodies are really tasty. Comes with a Rhinelander shorty on the side. I really like the meatball appetizer. Reminds me of my great-grandmothers meatballs, and being in her kitchen as a child (she was born in the Sambuca region of Sicily). The Bib burger and Johann burger are both great choices. The steak and pork schnitzel are both excellent, and my wife ALWAYS gets the short rib. Be prepared to wait if you don't have a reservation, but trust me, it is worth the wait. Been here several times as I'm a huge supporter of local businesses and we could use more good ones in the area. This place is a modern pub feel with friendly staff who seem very accommodating even on busier nights. I've not experienced slower service others mention. but it wouldn't surprise me as they've only been open a few months. That'll improve, and as long as staff friendly, doesn't bother me. I care more about how good food/drink is. Food: Overall they have unique flavorful food with some classics. Memorable food I've had there: Bibinger burger (my favorite part is the thick cut bacon). Mexican Quinoa Salad- awesome GF option that tasted really garden fresh. Pork schnitzel is the a must try, words can't explain that deliciousness. Drinks: Not much of a craft beer drinker but as others mention the Old Fashion's are amazing. Creative menu and they have the really good cherries in their old fashions! Summary: Fantastic new restaurant right outside West Bend. Great place for a date night, a casual lunch/dinner with a group of friends and family, or to grab a beer and catch the game. Food: I've now been to Bib's more than a handful of times and have tried a number of menu items (e.g. cheese curds, meatballs, Bib's burger, steak, short rib, pork schnitzel). Definitely start with an order of the cheese curds. They're some of the best I've had and come with a choice of house-made dipping sauces. For dinner, my personal favorite is the steak. I cook steak quite often at home and am pretty particular, which makes me somewhat hesitant to order a steak at restaurants. I can say this steak dish far surpassed my expectations. The meat was a perfect medium rare and the accompanying mashed red potatoes were delicious. If you want a true German dish, try the pork schnitzel. Atmosphere: The place is caked in history and shows it with the original support beams from the barn and classic signage from both local and national businesses. The downstairs is very comfortable with a large bar for additional seating. I've heard the upstairs is also available for event rental. There are a number of TVs for watching sports/events. Service: Every time I've gone, I've been met with a welcoming smile. The first time I went (first week after opening), there were still some kinks to work out, but it's clear from each subsequent visit that the service has greatly improved and continues to progress. read more

Your meal here can be summed up by the fact that the owner personally stops by every table to ask how your visit is going. Wonderful, attentive service. And the food - wow! We started with a great cheese and charcuterie board. Two in our party got the Cranberry Bleu Salad with Salmon and four got the Bibinger burger. The salads were great (that's what I got). The burgers were reported to be some of the best our party has ever had. The owner stopped by and we asked him about the burger - he reported that the beef is harvested from cattle less than a mile away. Plus, they have gluten free buns available! read more

Arrived at 7:00 and told 45 minute wait. No problem at all - they make great old fashions. Seated about 7:45. Asked for the catch of the day....shark and it was sold out. Asked for the walleye....it was sold out. Ordered goat cheese appetizer...it never made it to the table. My wife ordered the salmon and she said it was wonderful...I settled for a burger. 2 couples visited Fri, Jan. 5th '18 for fish fry. Seated within 10~15 min of reservation time. Friendly, smiling staff all around from hostess, waitress, bar tender to bussers. We were pleasantly surprised that with the open bar/dining area and large crowd, it was not annoyingly loud. We didn't need to shout to converse. The rustic wood does a good job on the acoustics. Tequila old fashioned ordered was good - not sent back - but it was not as described. We suspect she received someone else's order. Three regular fish fry and one walleye. The walleye was excellent. The fish fry, just so-so. Three of us felt the breading on the fish was odd but couldn't put our finger on why. Same with the tarter sauce ~ just weird ~ not the typical creamy, tangy, mayo, relish type recipe. Coleslaw definitely needed to mellow out for a day or so because it had a sharp bite and strong onion flavor. Nice, rustic, updated supper club type atmosphere. I've had some amazing experiences here over the last 18 months. Unfortunately, they've changed chefs or recipes because since July 2021, I've experienced the worst food I've had here. The appetizer, soup, and entree were severely under seasoned and the Pork Schnitzel tasted like it was from a dining hall. Incredibly disappointed in the food. I started dining here a year an a half a go after moving into the area. My experience was wonderful at first. The last two times we had dinner the food was so salty I couldn't eat it. I literally come here for my favorite dish braised beef short rib an couldn't eat it. My husband's brick chicken was also super salty. What is going on Bibinger's your food was once awesome. Have always loved Bibingers, but Friday night was a disappointment. Food was below average to what we're used to. There were 7 of us, and we all ordered fish. It was over cooked and not very tasty.
