With the whole COVID 19 going on and such good weather we are having naturally biking outdoors is a must ... unfortunately everyone thinks so too ... so looking for a bike was hard everyone was either sold out or had shipments coming in July .... one Sunday we had looked at called about 5-6 bicycle stores and I needed an xs frame for my mountain bike... the gentleman my husband spoke to told us he will be having a shipment in by Tuesday he said if we wanted to come down and see the bike and put a deposit we are more than welcome too. We arrived to the shop and they followed covid 19 restrictions of minimal people so we had to wait outside for a little bit. Then everyone had face coverings on which was reassuring ... the gentleman was so patient with us showed us two different bikes and in the end I bought 2 bikes on for my sister and one for me. The next day Monday he called us and told me my bike was ready! I recommend this place to everyone ! read more

What a fantastic service this guy's provide. Very professional. You don't have to know witch bike you need. You just need to know where you want to ride. In this store you will get all equipment and installation. Toy also have a great choice of bikes. Any repair toy like: chains, wheels, breaks, etc. I spent there 2 hrs. Great service!! We went in to get some info and left after we bought two bikes and a few accessories. We went to another bike shop last week but did not feel the customer service was right for us. We still had questions and our comfort level was lower and we were concerned about how their attentiveness after the purchase word change. Here we have three month check-ins once we buy them and the bikes settle. Besides they carry Trek and my hubby was happier with this brand. One shop I could even get anyone to help me because they were too busy chatting, one shop was nice but i didnt think the service after would be good, the last shop wanted to sell me everything under the sun and even commented negatively when i gave my budget. Saved my day! I drove out to Glendora to do a bike ride with friends and my brake somehow came apart. Lacking the tools and knowledge I was really lucky that Bicycle Central was about 1/2 mile from where I was starting my ride. I got to the store 15 minutes before they opened. The nicest gentleman (I didn't get his name), without me even knocking, opened up the store early and offered to help me out. 10 minutes later my bike was fixed and he wouldn't accept any payment. Called today for a specific bike. They said they had it on the floor and I can come and get it. Told the guy I had to make a stop to my house because I had to come from my appointment and needed to use the restroom. He said come now we have a restroom you can use it. I Get there and another woman's looking at the bike. Right in front of me one of the employees with gray hair said sorry to the other lady who is with her husband - I forgot to tell you I confirmed shed called 10 minutes ago for the bike and I have the first right to buy it. I then went and use the restroom and when I came back out another employee younger with dark hair said actually the other lady here first. He even threw in did you make a deposit why would he feel the need to say that if they were in there first!? They're willing to lie after they tell you to go out of your way. When I called the person I spoke to said no one was in there and when I walked in the older guy said I called 10 minutes before the other couple walked in then third guy said oh actually they were here before you called which is not true. Unbelievable I told the guy I was coming from USC because I have a broken nose and I had an appointment later that day and I would stop by then but he insisted I come in right away and then they lie to get out of selling me the bike they promised. read more

Bicycle Central is a great local bike shop! All the staff that I have interacted with were very knowledgeable and professional. I have never experienced any pressure from anyone to make purchases but all showed excitement about cycling. Though I am big on online shopping, I kept finding myself coming back here to make my purchases for tools and equipment. I would recommend to get on their e-mail list as they do have sales and promotions from time to time as well as post local community cycling events. You neighborhood nickle and dime bike shop! Called asking about a bike tuneup. The guy on the phone said $70 and if there's not much to adjust the charge will be less. So I brought my bike in. The upsell immediately started. Just wrote on my slip, full tune up. I also wanted a new bar tape and sold me on a new chain. In the end my bill was $150. Tried to upsell me further on a new rear casette but I hessitated and later he said it may not be needed. I was ok at this point as I was just excited to get biking. All is good right? Nope! Read along. The first time I got my bike, someone rounded the bolt on the seat adjuster. Brought it in and the guy said "it's an old bike right?". Yeah it's a used bike but I could adjust that before you guys touched it. After they fixed it the guy said normally we charge $5 for a new bolt but today it's free. I'm thinking to myself - dude I just paid $150 for your services, the least you could really do is fix a mistake your mechanic did and not try to slap it in my face that I just got $5 for free. Didn't even apologize that they caused the issue. Now on to my bike ride. One problem though, the front derailleur won't shift up/down. That's when I started getting really disappointed with this place. After the ride I just took it here and had them look into it. The guy who fixed it said the cable tensions were not right and he fixed it. Also said your chains are not lubed so I lubed it. Again I'm thinking - wait a minute, weren't they supposed to do this during the FULL TUNE UP? And guess what? The front is still not shifting right! It would shift down but not shift up. I started looking up on what could be wrong and came across key points to make sure the front derailleur is ok. One of the items is the height of the guide rail. Looking at my bike it's set too high! I tried adjusting it and the bolt was corroded. Meaning nobody's touched that in a while! Making me really doubt if they checked my bike at all other than to do the bar tape and chair replacement. Now my bike is in another shop getting the front sorted out. I will never set foot at this untrustworthy bike shop again. If you bought your bike from them, sure take them up on their included free service. Avoid the upsell! Otherwise if you don't want to be cheated on, don't bring your bike here. They will cheat you and nickle and dime you. read more

I can not recommend this place - and specifically Phil- enough. We have been to a lot of bike shops recently looking for our perfect bikes (from Claremont to Santa Monica) and he gave us the exact experience we have been searching for. He helps you find your perfect fit and asks you all the best questions to help you make your decision. He is trustworthy and isn't trying to just get you to buy the most expensive bike in the shop. You can tell he knows and loves bikes and more then making a sale he is concerned with making sure you will love your bike. We ended up buying our daughter's balance bike here and fixed my husbands bike which another local bike shop had messed up. I found two bikes I am torn between. We left this store convinced that all our biking needs will now be met here. read more

EDIT: DROPPING REVIEW DOWN TO ONE STAR Left my first review after riding and making it TO work. Well on the ride home, the chain popped off, and even though I put it back on it's not pushing the wheel. Had to walk it back the rest of the way, which was a couple miles. It was around 4 pm and hot as hell. Called in and they said I'll have to bring it back in, probably so they can charge me some more. TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE!!! ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Giving 2 stars because they got the job done when they said they would and the bike is in riding condition. Every other aspect of this experience was unsatisfactory and very disappointing. I wanted to like this place. Looks like a nice little family run operation. When I walked in, I didnt get greeted for 5-10 minutes. After consulting with one of the service reps, Bryan, he advised me it would be around $60 to get it in riding shape and if I wanted it in top notch condition, it would cost $90 max. I was a bit hesitant since the bike cost around $170 about 7 years ago. Didnt know if it'd be worth it but Bryan was cool and explained he would start with some repairs and call me if anything else came up. I agreed and paid my down payment. A day later Phillip calls me and tells me I have to pay $100 on top of my quote then he lists off a bunch of things I should fix. I'm taken off guard and try to get clarification from Phillip on how such misquote can happen. Phillip, after realizing I probably didnt want to spend anymore, started trying to talk me off the phones even though I had more questions. Phillips response was that it would be ok to ride around colleges, however, I originally informed them I needed it for a daily commute to work, roughly 15 miles. Phillip responded that it would be ok for that but it would feel a bit funky. Not really what you want to hear, but you have no choice since they already have your bike and your down. We agreed to just do the regular repairs and I was quickly hung up on. I was pretty annoyed at this point and wanted to leave my review then but wanted to give them another chance since I was driving and may have been a little impatient myself. Phillip calls me back 30 min later letting me know the bikes ready and I go pick it up the following morning around 10. They are just opening the doors so I ask if they are ready for me to pick up the bike. Phillip looks at me, walks away without saying anything, just mumbling under his breath. I look at one of his staff and he answers that its ok. I walk in and Phillip is checking me out. After hes done I thank him and he responds with an "ok" then just moved on to help someone else. Not even a 'you're welcome', 'thanks' or 'have a nice day.' This experience would have been a lot better if not for Phillip. I guess if you dont want to spend $500 he doesn't want to waste his time with you. They didn't even bother dusting off the parts they didn't service. Will never return here and will not recommend this place to any friends. Don't bother coming here if you plan on spending under $2-300. read more

This small family business will treat you right on that first sale. However, just like in the other low yet accurate reviews, the friendly service and warm smiles disappear on the next visit. They may know all about bikes, and this place may have that perfect bike for you, but consider another shop for repairs or other services unless you want to be treated coldly. edit: I went to return a lock someone got for me from here. Because it was 2 months ago, they said I couldn't return it for credit, even though it was obviously unopened and in the same bag they sold it in. After further discussion I got credit, but now my returning/exchanging rights have been taken (It was my first return). Everything is final sale from now on. They treated me right when I would first take my bike...unforuntately, customer service has decrease since then. Took my bike in about three weeks ago to get a tire changed because it had a hole that let the air out.. The person assisting me advised that it would only need a new inner-tube. Since these people are suppose to know what they are doing, I let him just change the inner-tube. Two weeks later, my rear rim is bent, making it very unpleasant to ride. I take it back when I get home from work. Another gentleman assisted me, saying that it needs a new rim ($50 w/ labor), but "Don't know if you want to pay that much since it wasn't worth much brand-new." That got me a little ticked. I went ahead and got the new rim. They had it ready the next day and said I needed to pay $80 (including labor and tax) because I also needed a new tire. The gentleman helping my this time said "since the tire had a hole, the inner-tube was going through that hole. Thats why you needed a new tire as well." So if they would have change my tire three weeks ago, this $80 charge would not have occured. Suffice it to say, this caught me off guard because we were quoted $60 in total with labor and tax. Its unfortunate that the same people aren't there day in and day out. What also isn't right is that these college student looking individuals don't have a manager present. If a manager was there or even the owner, I would have brough this up to him. Sad to say, but i'll probably be taking my back else where from now on. read more

I don't know if it's the new employees or the owner has just stopped caring; but this shop is going down hill. I grew up in Glendora and this bike shop hasn't sucked this bad since I can remember! Apparently now, there's only one worker that can talk details about the bikes. When I was there I had to wait a good 15-20 min just to get him to stop working on other bikes in the back to come out and talk to me about a bike I wanted. (Granted, there were 2-3 other employees, but none could help, wierd) When he finally came out he was rude with one word answers to my questions and it seemed like he just wanted to get back to what he was working on in the back. Anyway, this overpriced bike shop should send their employees to a customer service class because they suck! How the owner let's his staff get away with this shity service is beyond me. Going above and beyond is outa the question for them. Also, I found the same bike online for much cheaper! Along with bad customer service they over price their bikes and equipment! I live out in baldwin park and knew about this place from here but never been there to get bikes serviced so I decided to get my new used trek 5200 road bike tune up before i started to use it and also added extra stuff. The total was 88, 50 for tuning up... My gears are smooth and exchange great no complaints....computer was installed, tires, and new handle bar tape grip. Work was clean specially the grip tape was perfect. The people are helpful and work was done in a day took the bike in the morning around the time they open 10ish, and was done in the evening can't really complain about this place and can't compare prices cause don't go to other places but just some info for people out here totally recommend this place read more
