The food was good but the service was horrible. Two of us were eating but they only brought one of us our food. Asked for lime with the water and she said it's right there on the plate that goes in the soup. Then they brought the check and I asked if I was getting my food. Waitress never once came around to check on us. When i went to pay I went to the front to pay and the waitress said she would cash me out after i was already talking to someone else. I'm rating 3 stars because the food was good, but if you are looking for any type service, I recommend going elsewhere. read more

Do not be scared away by the initial appearance of the restaurant. It is not a dicey pool hall! We came in for lunch and split a bowl of Pho and a Bahn-Mi sandwich. Bida Saigon stole my heart and has now become a staple of mine. I eat there on a regular basis. Its another place that looks mediocre on the outside, but has gold on the inside! Absolutely FANTASTIC pho! I really can't stress this enough. The number 10 pho is my fave and I always get it with extra noodles. Meatballs and rare beef, baby! Delicious veggie plates and all the good sauces to add. Then, let your chopsticks do the work to take you to Vietnamese heaven! This soup is perfect for a cold, winter day, when you're feeling under the weather, a hangover cure or just need something to make you feel all warm and fuzzy inside. I don't get why everyone raves about this place? Coming from Orlando, maybe I was spoiled with all the good pho joints in little Saigon. The broth was extremely sweet and bland, it wasn't enjoyable at all. The service was so passive aggressive we actually got a good laugh at it. Adding an extra star for the hilarious passive aggressive signs in the restaurant. "Don't let children run, hot soup being served" "This is a fish tank, don't touch" Also as a side note, maybe play music or something in there. Its just akward dead silence coupled with the sounds of people slurping broth. read more

Very glad Bida Saigon offers vegetarian broth as an alternative to the typical beef broth in pho. Service was extremely quick. The tofu pho is great! The tofu has a nice texture and the broth is flavorful. The sprouts, limes and Thai basil are very fresh. read more

I read about this place in the metropulse. I wanted to try a new restaurant so I dragged my husband along; he protested the whole way there (I should have listened to him). It is located way in the back of a strip mall. Outside and inside are not very inviting. Saturday night at eight o'clock, there were only two other seated tables in the place. It had a strong odor of fish sauce, like an Asian market. My husband still tried to escape but I forced him to sit down. I told the waitress that we were new to the menu items and what would she suggest to beginners. She suggested the egg crepe with pork. The egg crepe was under cooked and slimy; the pork was bland. The egg sandwich with fresh veggies was ok, no seasoning, just a splash of soy sauce. The rice paper rolls of vermicelli and shrimp had no seasoning. The rice paper was so rubbery that I could not chew it. Some kind of peanut sauce was on the table; however, I was not fond of the flavor. We only ate a few bites and left. It took a few weeks to live that fiasco down with my husband. read more

Stopped her for lunch today with my mom and was glad we did. I found it through Yelp and glad i used my GPS, otherwise i would have never kbown they were there. There was only 1 person there when we got there, so not busy (but it was 3p, so a late lunch). When we walked in the staff greeted us right away. We were seated right away and the waitress took our orders. We got shrimp spring rolls based on reviews and agree they were good, but the peanut sauce was the star. You get 2 spring rolls with 3 shrimps, a handful of rice noodles, and cilantro rolled up in the rice paper wraps. I would have liked more veggies in the roll (im spoiled by other places), but they were still good. I chose to get the rare beef and brisket pho which was really good. What makes theirs so good is the noodles they use, I have had alot of different ones in pho and these have been the best by far! My mom got the shrimp and pork pho which had a pork broth and was really good as well, it was a touch sweeter then the beef broth. They bring the usual toppings of bean sprouts, Thai basil, jalapeño slices, and wedges of lime. At the table you have a try of condiments including siracha, chili oil, hoisin sauce, and fish sauce to add. Their chili oil is very hot so use sparingly, but it's good. We had ordered sweet tea for drinks, but i didnt like it, my mom said it tasted like they used turbinado sugar, and she liked it. I sent mine back and asked for a soda, but i never got which was ok because they give you glasses of water when you sit and i was ok with just water to drink. The waitress was very attentive and was there everytime we needed a refill. The total for everything was $30 including tip, not a cheap lunch, but was just what we wanted. read more

I decided to eat at this place when I heard they were now offering vegetarian pho. Though I have never had pho before, I assume the broth is typically thicker and more flavorful: my meal was a gigantic bowl of watered down Ramen, with vegetables on the side. The service could definitely be improved. I repeated my order three times and the waiter still didn't place it at the correct table. For dessert I ordered a hot tea. The waiter brought out an iced tea, then (after I explained the mistake) poured half of the same drink into a coffee mug. This is a strange little place...but strange in good way. I felt like I had just walked into a Jackie Chan movie and was intruding on a Triads meeting, lol. There's the pool hall area and a smoking dining section. Then there's a little non smoking room with 4 little tables, that's where my husband and I were seated. There's a few tvs and that night there was a football game on, so you know my husband was happy. We ordered 2 bowls of pho with rare steak meat, an order or eggrolls and iced coffee. Pho was $7 a bowl, cheapest I've seen in the area and... *mouth drool* tastes like someone from the old world made it. Deeeeelicious!!! My husband and I skimmed our bowl until there were no noodles or meat left. Broth wasn't fatty or greasy. I wish we would have found this place sooner (as we're about to move out of the Knoxville area back to our home in the Chicago area). The eggrolls I can't say the same for. There were about 6 mini eggrolls and they were over cooked and oily. I ate one and didn't eat the rest. The iced coffee...scrumptious! I personally like mines a little watered down so I added more water to it, but even without the added water its just as good. Our server was very kind and informative about the menu and questions we had about the place. Service was fast and I appreciated that she wore gloves and the pool hall/restaurant was very clean. After we ate dinner we decided we wanted to play a game of pool. $10 for one hour, not bad. We actually played a little longer than an hour but the server and owner never really minded or tried to rush us out. They offered two kinds of beer, Corona and Heinekin. I forgot how much they were. All in all...I would recommend Bida Saigon. It's definitely a hole in the wall but their food is great, the people are kind and helpful, tvs so you can watch sports of whatever you want for that matter (you just gotta ask), you can smoke in there and they serve beer. A hidden gem. I moved out of town 5 years ago and there's two restaurants I crave when I come to town. Bida Saigon and TOT. While the quality of TOT has gone down hill over the years, Bida Saigon is exactly as I remembered, or at least the food is. I tried to go in the old door and a very faded sign said to go to the other door. There's more seating now, and an odd dance floor waiting area, but the Pho is exactly the same, and exactly what I craved. #11, rare beef and brisket. Great broth, noodles done right, side fixin's were fresh. Friendly people and a fair price (cheaper and better than my new neighborhood pho in a much bigger city). It's not a fancy restaurant, but who wants that when you're slurping up noodles? I'll be back for sure. read more

Im giving this place 3 stars because of interior, kids and food. When I first walked in I didnt feel like it was a resturant, I felt like it was a $2.00 billards bar and when u look left its a dine in resturant, I think the decor needs to be updated. Next, There was 2 kids running around looking at 3 fish tanks, and so the little boy saw my son and told him to follow and look at fishes ( my first thought was NO, But my husband was there and he always think im over protected) So, I said go look and come back, My son came back and sat down and the next thing I know these two kids are running around everywhere!!!! I said, Nope not my child..you better sit here as the child I raised you to be, u Do Not Show Out In Public!!!! So im looking at the 2 adults ( lack there of) at the table and they are chowing down while these two bad kids are ripping and running. Then the little boy sat at my table while we are having an adult conversation (wtf) so then the food came and the little boy touched my son food. I was piss off at this point... I told him nicely to leave with and evil eye stare. Im a mom and I love kid friendly places but.... At their ages they should know better !!!!! Third, The food I ordered the Bho Kho .... We had Pho, Banh xao, and #24(nem, egg roll and noodles etc) Everything is delicious! It is the first time we ever ate banh xao with a fork! They have all of the lettuce shredded because the people around here won't wrap it! Lol! It is delicious! The ambiance is Vietnamese and full of Americans! I have come to this place at least 10 times now and am not sure why I have never bothered to rate it. I am pretty picky about my pho and this is definitely one of the next places for it. I have tried pho in many big cities and have been disappointed for one reason or another. This place has a very clear and concise menu. The Thai Ice Tea is an amazing cherry on top.
