I settled on the dragon and Phoenix. Combination of General Tsao chicken and shrimp in brown sauce. The shrimp taste a little different to me but I am sure it is because I am used to really fresh shrimp. The general chicken was good. It was in small bite size pieces, easy to eat. The portion size was a bit small for a dinner menu. The lunch prices are cheap but I don't know how much smaller the portion is. All in all the food was good. I love trying new Asian restaurants so I was excited this was close to my training facility for my new job. I ate here multiple times during my training, it was convenient and quick. I always got in and out on my 30 min lunch break every time even on busy days. When you walk in it's kind of awkward because the entrance is really close to the seating, there's no hostess stand or anything so the first couple of times I kind of just sat there awkward and then someone finally came up and told me to sit anywhere. They have really good lunch specials and many options to choose from. The sushi I thought was just ok. I've ordered the sesame chicken and rice multiple times and thought it was pretty tasty. You can also sub out the rice for noodles for an additional price which I liked. The service always was just seemed ok in my opinion. They have plenty of seating and the ambiance is nice. 0n 07/28/25 at 6 pm was the best Asian Food ever in Knoxville I have eaten for awhile. We went to our usual place and it was closed on Mondays. This place was really really good. Chef's Asian has such an expansive menu and is conveniently located. Also convenient is the online ordering system via their website. There were pictures, descriptions, clear pricing, and opportunities to customize. Not only was it easy to order, but the food was done so dang quickly. To us, the food itself was okay. We tried several dishes which fell into the "fine, but wouldn't order again" category: -crab Rangoons-tasty! A sweeter cream cheese mixture and they are the folded pockets, not the rangoon purses. -Pork with vegetables was in a brown sauce that honestly lacked flavor (bummer!). Lots of meat, but much of it was gristle. The edible meat was good but unseasoned. -General tso's was good, but many overcooked, un-chewable pieces. The photo shows broccoli, but none came with this dish, unfortunately. - We got the 3 rolls of sushi deal (amazing!) with shrimp tempura, shrimp and avocado, and sweet potato rolls. I think the nori was soaked too long because it was incredibly gummy/chewy. Hot date night, spitting out the seaweed. ha! The shrimp on the shrimp avocado roll was super overcooked and chewy but the shrimp tempura roll was tasty. I feel like eel sauce makes everything right in the world. :-) Overall, not in a rush to go back, but if/when we do, we would try the soups and hibachi that people are raving about. After almost 2 years of searching and trying different Chinese food places, we found a Chinese food place we loved however, sadly, that place closed down recently because of covid and they said they would not be re-opening. So alas, we are on the hunt again. We ordered online and picked up in stores super excited because the online reviews were great and on the way home the food smelled amazing! We ordered a lot because we wanted to try a little bit of everythjbg/everyone's favorites. The best we had from our order was the beef and broccoli. It was delicious and still hot when we got home 40 minutes after pick up. Chicken lomein: it's more of a soba noodle so a little thicker but not bad Sweet and sour chicken: we were a bit disappointed. It was mostly breading and had almost a fishy taste for some reason. Just not a fan or the batter. The egg drop soup: at first we thought the egg was missing so we stirred it. The egg came to the top. It had the flavor and consistency of chicken broth and nothing else. Not pictured was some chicken dishes. The chicken was extremely dry. We also got general tsos and it was very sweet, no spice at all. Overall I would say we would eat like 2 of the things we got again but the rest we would do without. On a dark and stormy night ... we didn't feel like cooking dinner. We are always in for a good Chinese dinner and so we wanted to check this place out. Good reviews and good health scores were a plus. Other reviewers also said the food was great, so we decided to give it a try. When we arrived, there were probably about ten tables with customers. We stood at the door waiting to be seated. After a few minutes of waiting, we finally waved to an employee by the cash register who then came to seat us. The decor is pretty and the overall impression was that it was clean. We ordered Teriyaki Shrimp, Hot & Sour Soup and the Seafood Deluxe. We were promptly served the Hot & Sour Soup. After finishing the soup, we waited for our meals. My Seafood Deluxe dish came out and then we waited for five minutes before my wife's Teriyaki Shrimp arrived. No sooner had we taken our first few bites, the check arrived. We felt as if we were being hurried which made us uncomfortable. We were excited to try an asian restaurant that was new for us, but this will be our first and last time eating here. The quality of the chicken was horrible. Dry, stringy dark meat chicken and a significant portion of the meal was just crunchy fried batter- at least 12 pieces, some large, some small, had absolutely ZERO chicken. The sesame chicken sauce wasn't bad, but was very gelatinous even while hot. The general tso's chicken had a rancid fishy aftertaste. $41 for a general tso's, sesame chicken, small side of Lo mein, and a large side of rice- definitely wasn't worth $40. Not worth going. We visited 8/8/23. Way overpriced for the amount of food you get compared to other places. Bella's in Lenoir city and Mikata's down the road is waaay better . The fried rice was terrible , even my young son who loves fried rice didn't like it. For a kid's meal we asked to substitute the vegetables for extra rice and when we got the bill it cost $3 extra. We were told after the fact that they don't substitute. The waitress was new and said she didn't know either but still bad of the owner to charge me for her mistake. The teriyaki chicken and steak was pretty good along with the vegetables. The inside of the place was nice and clean. The waitress was new but good. My husband and I just had dinner there and they do have take take out but I wouldn't recommend it because the service is fantastic from the time you open the door to the time you pay your bill and the food was first rate. My husband and I both got the bento boxes; he got the hibachi steak and I got the teriyaki chicken. It's was so big two people could share it. It comes with fried rice, crab Rangoon, three-piece sweet & sour chicken and California rolls and you also have the choice of soup, salad or egg roll. A very good Asian restaurant we tried for the first time. We started with Crab Rangoon, and it was very tasty. Then the Hot and Sour soup was one of the best I have had around town. It was seasoned well and cooked perfectly. I tried the hibachi with scallops. The scallops were cooked just right and seasoned well. My fiance's chicken hibachi was also very good. I was happy to find a Chinese restaurant in the Hardin Valley area with a large variety of menu options. It's pretty much standard Chinese take-out fare, but we really didn't have anything like it in the HV area before (Mikata comes close, but not Chinese), so I'm so happy it exists! The menu prices are pretty low, so I've kept my expectations low each time I've eaten here and for the most part have been satisfied with what I've gotten. My main complaint is their sauces have a large amount of oil in them, like the veggies and meat are swimming in it! I've only done take-out here, so I don't have a dine-in experience to share. I did notice that the restaurant is very pretty and clean when I do go to pick up food. I'll continue to keep trying dishes here, it's decent enough to keep going back! This is my favorite sushi place in town. Come here and they will always deliver quality ingredients, wonderful service and the best selection of sushi. Not a sushi lover? Their bento box is heavenly and comes with teriyaki chicken or steak, rice, California roll, crab Rangoon, a Egg roll and veggies. You will never leave hungry. Randomly found this place on Yelp. When I saw 3 sushi rolls for $11.95, I was sold. They also offer a 2 rolls for $8.50. You can order online or call in for a to-go order. I ordered the 3 roll special, shrimp tempura, spicy shrimp and California rolls. They weren't amazing but they were pretty good considering the price. It will definitely cure a sushi craving on a budget. I never dip my rolls in soy sauce, but I did this time for more flavor, especially for the California roll. I also ordered the shrimp and broccoli which was pretty good as well and decent priced. The staff over the phone was friendly and accommodating.
