Drove from Broward Co to Palm Beach Co just to try this and I must say, I was really impressed with the quality of their cheesesteaks! Meat was juicy, bread was fresh and service was great! a little disappointed at their pictures of Pats and Genos in Philadelphia considering every person living in the North East knows Pat and Genos are just not that good. I'm writing this from a restaurant manager (me) to another restaurant manager/owner that should know how this place is being run and how your paying customers are being treated. The woman that you have working at the front of your establishment is pretty rude and off-putting. Definitely not someone that should be working in customer service. I know it's just a cheesesteak spot but I've been treated in a way nicer fashion by the guys working the cheesesteak places in Philly- grabbing myself something to eat at midnight after leaving Citizens Bank Park. I'm a little worried SHES the manager because of how she was dressed- I sure hope not. I came in yesterday to order some cheesesteaks for a couple of friends that I have in town. I got to the window and said "hello, how are you?" She proceeds to say back to me "Well I was about to get out of here but I guess I'm not now." Well... okay.. I'm at a cheesesteak place at 5:00 on a Sunday, and it's not like I showed up 10 minutes before close, so I'm not sure what I have to do with one of your employees not being able to go home. I was a little taken aback, so I reply to her "okay, I'm not sure what you would like me to do." She lets me order the 4 cheesesteaks with her and wait. She proceeds to tell the other employees in my ear shot there how it's her time to go home, she's worked f*ing 58 hours this week, complaining about another guest that came in this morning that ordered a bunch of cheesesteaks without calling, etc. She must have dropped 5 F* bombs in the time I was standing there. I was a little embarrassed for this place, and luckily the other customers were standing a little farther back and didn't hear her. I stood in astonishment. If anyone understands short staffing, lack of employees, and how frustrating the restaurant industry is right now it is me, however to be treating customers that way there is no excuse for. She must have seen the look my face because when she gave me the cheesesteaks she went from having that attitude, to trying to make conversation with me and being really nice. By that time, the experience was already ruined. It's a shame because my cheesesteak was actually really good, and our friends really enjoyed as well, hence the 3 stars. But 2 stars off as I left there feeling like I ruined this woman's day for ordering a cheesesteak during a football game on a Sunday evening. read more

Stopped by Big Al's last weekend while in Delray Beach. Yes it was late at night but no I was not impressed. I ordered the regular Philly cheese steak with provolone and the bread was a bit leftover tasting, like it had been out all day. There was way too little meat for a 7.00 sandwich and way too little cheese. The meat was also a bit dried out. I've eaten here before during the day and had a good meal but this was not one of them. I hope it was just a fluke because that sandwich and soda were not worth the $ 10.00 it cost me. Big Al. I have eaten here before, a while back, and I remember as the food being good. I love philly cheese steaks and I was really in a mood for a good philly cheese sandwich. So I offered to my coworkers to get sandwiches for lunch from Al's. The service was horrible. They guy who was placing our order was so rude. He straight up refused answering any questions we had, and looked beyond annoyed with us trying to get lunch. He even charged me for a big salad when I ordered just the toss salad since I have gotten a philly as well. Honestly not just the service but even the food was very disappointing. I don't know if it was because the same guy cooked it for us and for some reason was mad, or if the food tastes like that in general. It had no taste. We work on the ave, and do different places for lunch, but I will never go back there and I will not recommend this place to anyone. read more

A few years ago I had a nice experience and an ok Cheesesteak. Recently returned, and what a change. Asked for a cheesesteak with extra onions and a well toasted bun, assuming they would toast the bun in the first place. This was a bad experience. Now I know why I was the only person there. Rule of thumb what a customer ask for is what they want , it is rude and very disrespectful to say something is gross. If I wanted peanut butter on my sub and you had it to put well its me. I ordered 2 hot dogs with fried onions and kraut with mustard to go, when I arrived home no extras were on the dogs. I must say the dogs were big and tasty but the bun was a little stale .Will try again cause the dog was great but hopefully they get it right next time. read more

I love this place. I come here once a year for work and always get a philly cheese steak from here on my trip for one of my lunches. I was in Delray, was tired and looking for a quick but decent meal. I came across this place. I love a Philly Steak but very few, if any, places outside South Philly seem to have them. It's a steak (shaved/shredded) and cheese elsewhere. I was pleasantly surprised with the thinly sliced steak grilled in whole slices. I got one without, with wiz. It was not Pats, Genos or Tony Lukes but the closest I have ever had. The self-serve cherry peppers added to the authenticity. The fries were great as well. I am a postmates delivery driver, so it's a Thursday night and I'm just cruising around and boom I get a pickup at Big Al's. So I pop up and approach the counter and immediately I glance Into the kitchen and look at the cooks like "Yo which one of y'all gon assist me" and the one cashier/cook throws his gloves down and body language is blatantly like what the fu-- do you want... and he takes a deep breath and sluggishly ask, "what are you ordering" like dang ombré I'm just here for a pick up... long story short I notice the body language and demeanor when others walked up and it was the same.... before you say ah no that didn't happen or maybe I'm making this up. Look I know some days people wanta go home or some days it just ain't your day man like his girl could of got her back blown out by another dude and he found out idk whatever it is I understand things but happen.... but sheesh man have some joy when interacting with customers, bring some sort of urgency with ya customers. Our sandwiches had 2 pieces of sliced steak 4 particles of onions and a yellow substance they referred to as cheese, Very Very Skimpy sandwich for the money . Tater tots were over salted and placed need to be cleaned as the tables were dirty & unkept . AVOID AVOID AVOID ,,,,, You are better off spending the same amount of money in any other venue on the strip. 2 sandwiches 2 orders of fries and 2 drinks were $40.00 . We found other lunch specials that were far better for the money. THIS PLACE DOES NOT EVEN COME CLOSE A REAL PHILLY CHEESESTEAK .. I ordered a reg cheesesteak/fries earlier today ... First of all customer service/fries was great! The philly cs had no flavor (seasoning). I added peppers, jalapeños, and mushrooms which were put on top of the sandwich, making it nearly impossible to eat. I must say it was nothing to write home about.
